Cracking drone views, your so so lucky to live in such a fantastic place, second to none. Dow Crag is something else, wow, wow, gone all weak. Thanks for all of your hard work Glenn..
You're videos are bloody excellent! I like your delivery. You talk with us rather than to us. Also you are providing an excellent reference and guide for us all. Lakeland Tourism should be paying you royalties!
Did this route yesterday (glorious weather after a disgusting few days) and it is as amazing as it looks - in fact even more so! That first glimpse of Eskdale from the top of Walna Scar Road is incredible. After that the whole Dow Crag ridge is great fun. We descended via Goat’s Water rather than continuing to the Old Man as we had a long drive ahead of us, but it was still one of our favourite walks. Love this part of the Lakes, it’s so interesting and different! Thanks for the inspo as ever ❤
Yet more wonderful views, thanks. I did the Old Man a few times. I was in the Black Bull at Coniston a couple of weeks ago. They sell a smashing Stout there. Same with the Queen's Head at Troutbeck.
Hi Glenn. Recently came across your channel. Got to say that the footage is spectacular. Gives me a sense of "being there" and some of it reminds me of Wainwright's black and white images but brought to life. Looking forward to going through your library. Subscribed, ATB, Paul
Absolutely loved this! So relaxing. The drone footage and views are spectacular and I love that you describe the routes. Keep them coming these are fabulous videos. Thank you for posting them 😀
Excellent vid mate. I have been up Dow Crag and the Old Man but separate hikes. Inspirational your vids, hopefully I'll be back on fells soon after leg surgery !! Take care out there!! 👍
Great video. I pretty much did the same route yesterday, but added in Brim fell as an extra peak. The strange part was only seeing one person from leaving the car park, to getting to the top of the Old man. After that it was extremely crowded on the descent past Low water on the return to the car park.
Fantastic video. Loved the commentary it was so informative. Professional post production I absolutely loved this. Cant wait to walk this when my lad is home on leave. Loving that I found this channel
Thanks so much for making these. Perfect weekend morning viewing. Epic shots as ever! We were on Coniston the other day, think it's got to be a new favourite area. So much interest around there. Was great to see the path up Dow.
Another brilliant vlog Glen, we ventured along part of that route the other week on route to Grey Friar then back along the ridge to Coniston. This area will be my Everest Base Camp training place ready for next years trek.
Incredible film! You’ve encompassed all of my favorite spots up there. COM will always be dear to my heart - being so accessible from Barrow it our closest playground. Great job 👏🏻 and wonderful to see you out again.
Another great Vlog Glenn. We’re due back in the Lakes at Easter (COVID permitting) and was planning on tackling the Old Man. Having seen this we’ll definitely go this route. Nice work 👍
Cracking video mate, love how you know all the names, I've been going for years and still don't know most of them haha. Looking to do this walk again asap
Fabulous footage well done. Drones are not my favourite objects in the mountains but good to know you try and consider this in your movie making. That said this drone footage was breathtaking and worth any buzzing! Keep up the good work 👌
Brilliant work. Did the same route but in the opposite direction. Brilliant shot from the drone of the summit of the Old Man....looked just like one of Wainwright's sketches. Keep up the good work.
Another outstanding film Glenn - loved the introduction drone footage. Please keep the vlogs coming, can’t wait for the next one and Black Crag T shirts 😉
Hi Glenn, did this walk with my wife on Monday this week. Unfortunately weather was terrible and views were very limited ☹️. Had planned to extend the walk and go down to Swirl How and even perhaps Wetherlam but had to cut it short after reaching the Old Man.
Thanks so much for this! Escapism at its best! We've just finished doing the Wainwright's and this vid has made my mind up that our next destination is the old man!! Brilliant drone footage and really enjoyed your 'waffling'!
I did the old man last week. Did the walk past Goats water. Loved yr video and will be buying some micro spikes as I struggled to stand up . Any ways great video, love tuning in and seeing yr walks pal. Drone footage is amazing. Thank you.
Ooh this was a good one. I fell to sleep the first time I tried to watch it as so relaxing with visual and music 🤣. Sure you've seen some herdies since
Brilliant vlog as always, you have inspired me to get a drone, just got a Dji Spark , your cinematography is excellent. keep up the work and look forward to seeing more. fantastic.
New Sub, and currently binge watching your videos, Have done a few of the walks on your Vlog when I had my husky.. Watching these definitely makes me want to get my boots out and get walking the lockdown stones I have gained, back off!! Wonderful walks, wonderful videos, literally cannot get enough.. Your photography is stunning and as a photographer as well your images are an inspiration ... You should think about doing some photography hikes, would definitely be interested in that :) x
Thank you so much, really appreciate that...... And welcome 😊 I have done 1 photography vlog with the intention of doing more but I love doing the walks too much 😂
Another cracking vlog bud, liking the slightly longer vlogs too. The herdy craic at the end made me chuckle 🤣 the drone footage is outstanding, aswell as your choice of music for it
Well that's got to be one of the best 47 minutes I've spent sat on the toilet. Another fine example of the beauty of the Lake District combined with the dulcet tones of narration as wonderful as the mountains themselves. The intro could easily be a video in its own right, some absolute stunning drone footage. That said, it still really pisses me off the fact you have some shots with the drone flying backwards. I've told you before and I'm telling you again, it's not right! It completely detracts from the idea of a continuous progression. Time doesn't stand still, nor does it move backwards... I think I'd better stop, I feel a tangent coming on; and it's not moving backwards... No Mark! Stop it! Restrain oneself... Glenn, awesome video 👍🏻
@@BlackCrag Haha! No, I'm all good now 😂 On a slightly more sombre note, I went past some Herdwicks today and couldn't help thinking of how you ended the video, all despondent, with a simple "Hey, herdy..." It brought a tear to my eye, then I realised it was just a raindrop come through the window 🤷🏼♂️
Fantastic stuff BC 😎👍. Stunning footage. Done that walk a few times, mostly in winter, and it’s a belter. Love Dow Crag, always much quieter than Old Man. Not been to the Lakes since September due to lockdowns and restrictions. Thanks for taking me back - ATB Dave
Wonderful vlog, I recall you abandoned an Old Man of Coniston walk early on in your vlogs. You more than made up for it this time around. Cracking drone footage. I had no idea the quarrying was so extensive. Keep up the great work. 👍🏔️📸😜
Thanks very much mate 😊 Yes that was early one that was abandoned as my walking companion wasn't enjoying the sudden change in weather. If you've not been around here I can highly recommend it 👌
Exceptional as ever. As with the Scafell vlog I really enjoyed the opening drone sequence. Keep up the good work. I hopefully will be out of Tier 3 from Wednesday.
Wowzer Glenn!! Stunning stuff matey! Can’t beat the sugar coated fells. Another walk for the ever growing list. Incidentally… I get herdy withdrawal too when they aren’t on a vlog . 😂 Cracking entertainment. You should be on the stage… no, not sweeping it! When we getting some T shirts?? Happy trekking🥾🥾⛰
One of my favorite walks since a school trip 45 (gulp) years ago, and done the right way too. Absolutely fantastic cinematography once more. Probably just made my mind up where to go next week. Thanks again :).....ps we did Jacks Rake that week too, not that I am hinting or anything ......
Loved that. The drone shots with the music at the beginning were stunning. Always appreciate it when you set the camera down and film yourself from a distance - like when you walked over the bridge. That takes a bit of work, so much respect for that ✊🏻 Love the blooper reel. Did you actually call for Finn...? 🤦🏻♀️ Another great vlog, watched from the comfort and warmth of my bed. Thank you 🙏🏻
Would it be feasible to start at Birks bridge or Cockley Beck and go up Harter fell then back down to hardknott pass past the fort and up the route to slight side and Scafell? All in one hike and back?
If you ever want to film the inside of a pub after finishing a walk, I would not not complain. I love a good English pub. Maybe you have already - I don't know. Catching up on your videos from oldest to newest.

Bang for your buck is this walk - dow crag is epic and saw a very similar silhouette when walking up towards the old man today. Sik vid 🤙

That drone footage alone cheers me up while I'm stuck in tier 3; stunning doesn't do it justice! Great work fella.
Just watched this for a second time. Definitely looks the the more interesting way round 👍🏼
Yet more wonderful views, thanks. I did the Old Man a few times. I was in the Black Bull at Coniston a couple of weeks ago. They sell a smashing Stout there. Same with the Queen's Head at Troutbeck.
