Chloe, I still have my mum, but only just, Easter she had an NSTEMI, which made a very long day longer, she didn't come home for nearly 9 weeks, After having a CABG, she was allowed home, She has almost recovered now, so that and my Father's illnesses, my year has been in a bit of some turmoil, I've had to stop and start work again, and put on hold indefinitely some, in fact most plans. Life changes sometimes quickly, but hopefully, what you've been through before prepares you for the change, the emotions and allows you to cope. It is a shame you're loosing the wild medow behind the house, and hopefully you have found another beautiful place to call home, one that will not be as easy for others to build over. Just keep the hills in your heart and those gorgeous wild places. 🙂 Mal.
I'm so sorry to hear that Mal. I can only imagine the stress and turmoil of having both your parents ill. I'm glad she is doing better. I hope this latter part of the year is kinder to you 🙏🏼
@@FablesandFells Thank you Chloe, I do too! The benefit is that I get Mum for longer, hopefully. I am fairly good at turning negatives into positives, so lets hop that the latter part is better and it carries on into next year. Just have to sort Dad now. I hope the new house is one for many years and great new adventures. 😀
Good luck with your move, we bought our first house in the pandemic too, and the experience is extremely stressful dealing with agents and sollicitors. Anyhow, inspired by you in part, we finally planned a long weekend in the lakes this November, and are going to do purely high fells hiking to learn, and absorb everything, and try to let the experience lead us, maybe the Lakes could be the future, I hope it is.
Stunning video, captivating and emotional story telling. wish you all the best settling into your new home and new adventures. My heart goes out to both of you what a difficult decision to have to make. Looking forward to what happens next.
Lovely video. First time I've seen your channel but can see why you have so many followers. Best wishes to you and Ryan, a fellow traveller, and hope you move goes smoothly.
Beautifully made, photographed, put together video, with a delightful expressive commentary. I stay away from the Lake District these days, too many people- but where were they this time ?!
Lovely story telling, sorry you are having to move on, but hope you enjoyed the adventure while you were there. Every place will have things to love about it, so focus in on those when you move.
I moved up to Lamplugh right on the edge of the lakes for a temporary 3 month contract and stayed 22 years, it is an amazing place to live and explore, I miss being out on the fells and mountain tops very much.
It is such a shame that having coped with all those years of being where you are put, the first place you chose yourselves is changed to something you didn’t want just as you are together again. I hope you have found a beautiful new place for you both after all those years of service and sacrifice ( that’s another good name for a channel). Our plans after retirement have changed as we have barely gone anywhere in our California camper since my wife’s mother who resides with us suffered an episode of delirium and is no longer capable of looking after herself for even a few days.
Yes sort of ironic in a way, but we just have to keep adapting. I'm sorry to hear about your mother-in-law and your situation. That must be very difficult for you all.
Our family lakeland home, which has been in the family for a few generations, overlooks a meadow that opens up the views to the fells. I would be devastated if that was ever built upon, not least if it was for something like a car park. What I've seen over the whole of my adult life is a total lack of long-term planning in the Lakes. There are far too many cars and the modern car is significantly bigger than those than those of my youth. Needless the narrow Lakeland roads are mostly the size they were 100 years ago when my grandparents were cycling them. These days I live in Switzerland, in one of the mountainous Cantons which welcomes a large number of tourists. We would never think of taking the car to go walking as there is little parking, the parking places that exist are expensive and the public transport is so good. Unlike the Lakes where most people plan walks that start and stop by their car, here we do point-to-point walks as we know there'll be a PostBus at the other end. Holiday makers staying more than a few days often get free or significantly reduced tickets. In the Lakes, if you can find a bus it's often full and therefore not a reliable solution. Fields are turned into parking, often with low prices. No wonder the car rules. I really wish that the lakeland authorities would come and visit and see how the Swiss do it. I'm absolutely not saying it's perfect here but in the whole they've managed to create a solution which works for tourists and locals alike. There also appears to be a sensible long-term plan. Anyway, do keep up your beautiful videos. They serve as a welcome reminder of my other home.
Thanks, glad I can bring you a little of the Lakes again. Things can get pretty manic here in summer, so I just go out super early. The bus fare is capped at £2 for a single journey to encourage use. I think they've added a shuttle for Wasdale which is much needed. But yes, a lot of cars and a lot of drivers not used to country lanes 😅
Nothing that’s truly worth doing is easy and everything happens for a reason. You will find your special place and it will all be worth it. Regards to the bootneck, always a little further brother 🙏🏻
I had moved numerous times until I moved in to Derbyshire. Something clicked and found I didnt want to live in the city or towns anymore. So over the next couple of years (or sooner if I can) my heart is ste on High Peaks area of Derbyshire. So i can fully understand how you feel
@@FablesandFells yeah after a suicide attempt in 2017 I rediscovered hiking and then learnt photography. Parents always used to take us to the peaks. Hence why I'm now living in the country, but ultimately looking to high peaks x

beautifully narrated story telling and well put together video. well done ! sorry to hear that you are having to move on unexpectedly. however, as they say, everything happens for a reason. onwards and upwards hey. good luck!
i know its stressful and exhausting, I've had to move several times. I'm not sure if I've ever felt as if i were home anywhere I've lived. maybe it's a state of mind, or I'm not where I'm supposed to be quite yet. anyway. God bless you and protect you and yours. Amen.
Thanks CJ. We are somewhat accustomed to actual moving but we've never had the stress of selling and buying at the same time. I think you can make it a home, even if it's temporary. But yes, I'm sure there is a true home for all of us where we feel that sense of belonging.
@@FablesandFells yes I'm sure your right. i think i just need to make my place more homie, haha or move to a smaller home with a bigger lot. i need seclusion maybe. i hope you guys are doing well today. remember one step at a time.

Oh nice, hope you enjoy your trip and it's the start of something new 🙏🏼
Good to see you again! I hope you and your husband find a lovely home to settle (Cam too) Best wishes to all for the future 🙂
Thanks so much Mark 🙏🏼
All the best with your new endeavours and location!
Always simply superb narration and video work.

Beautiful video, my favourite place in the country, wishing you and the Bootneck all the best in the world 😎😎🍺🍺
Thanks Tony 😊
Lovely video. First time I've seen your channel but can see why you have so many followers. Best wishes to you and Ryan, a fellow traveller, and hope you move goes smoothly.
Thanks so much 😊
Beautifully made, photographed, put together video, with a delightful expressive commentary. I stay away from the Lake District these days, too many people- but where were they this time ?!
Thanks Roger! I have a knack for avoiding people 😄
Good luck with everything , thanks for sharing your adventures.
Thanks Marc 👍
Lovely story telling, sorry you are having to move on, but hope you enjoyed the adventure while you were there. Every place will have things to love about it, so focus in on those when you move.
Thanks 🙏🏼
I love you both! Thank you for such an honest video!❤️🥰
Thanks for coming along 😊
I moved up to Lamplugh right on the edge of the lakes for a temporary 3 month contract and stayed 22 years, it is an amazing place to live and explore, I miss being out on the fells and mountain tops very much.
Ahh yes it does captivate you doesn't it!
Absolutely incredible video thank you so much for sharing, 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Mark ☺️
I hope everything works out better than you imagined 💚
Thanks so much 😊
I look forward to your videos, there outstanding
Thanks so much Craig ⛰️
Best wishes on your next adventure.
Thanks Susan 😊
What a brilliant and moving creation.
Thank you 😊
This is so well made. Good luck on the next step 👍🙂
Thanks so much 😊
What a beautiful story ❤🎉 Thank you..😊
Thanks Pat 😊
Nothing that’s truly worth doing is easy and everything happens for a reason. You will find your special place and it will all be worth it. Regards to the bootneck, always a little further brother 🙏🏻
Thanks Matthew, it's amazing how something even better can be right around the corner even if you can't see how 🙏🏼
Exquisite cinematographic video!
👍❤️
Thank you 😊
Thank you for sharing, God bless you and your husband in your new home !!
Thanks Jeff 😊
I had moved numerous times until I moved in to Derbyshire. Something clicked and found I didnt want to live in the city or towns anymore. So over the next couple of years (or sooner if I can) my heart is ste on High Peaks area of Derbyshire. So i can fully understand how you feel
Oh good luck with your 'escape to the countryside', it's a beautiful area.
@@FablesandFells yeah after a suicide attempt in 2017 I rediscovered hiking and then learnt photography. Parents always used to take us to the peaks. Hence why I'm now living in the country, but ultimately looking to high peaks x
@@ukhikermarv I'm sorry to hear you reached such a low but glad you were able to rediscover hiking, it brings such peace and purpose for me.
@@FablesandFells no it's fine its the last and we move on
Welcome to Cumbria 😊
Thank you 😊
This is stunning. Wishing you all the best, from us at the Haweswater Hotel
Thanks Renata, I've seen your hotel, it's absolutely beautiful 😊
Wow, I stumbled on your channel and I really liked this creation. Apologies for being nosey but I’m looking forward to seeing where you are going and your future adventures. Good luck
Thank you, can't wait to share soon 😊
Chloe, whilst you never release videos frequently enough to meet my demand, when you do, they are always visually and emotionally superb and you know you are going to settle into a good watch.
Thank you, I hope to post more regularly 😅
@@FablesandFells Looking forward to that.
beautifully narrated story telling and well put together video. well done ! sorry to hear that you are having to move on unexpectedly. however, as they say, everything happens for a reason. onwards and upwards hey. good luck!
Thanks Harry 🙏🏼
i know its stressful and exhausting, I've had to move several times.
Thank you Chloe for another beautiful video.
Given the choice I would choose to live in the Lake District other any other place in the world - where beauty and tranquility still exists despite the planners and developers.
Wishing you and your husband all the best along with man's best friend.
Keep smiling and hope to see you again on this channel.
Thanks so much 🙏🏼
