Very atmospheric and emotional. You made me realise just how much I( loved and) miss my parents, I'd happily give a year off my life for just one day with them. Best wishes in your new life
Loved hearing the story behind your move to the Lake District! 🍃 It’s inspiring to see how the landscape has shaped your life and creativity. The mix of storytelling with older hiking and wild camping clips really captures the beauty of Cumbria. Thanks for bringing us along - looking forward to more adventures and stories from this magical place! ☕🐕

I first visited the lakes on a week long school trip in the 70's, and it was love at first sight. During the next 40+ years I would get there as often as I could, boots, bivi, camera, with my kids, it was a soothing medication to aid my MH. Chloe, I still have my mum, but only just, Easter she had an NSTEMI, which made a very long day longer, she didn't come home for nearly 9 weeks, After having a CABG, she was allowed home, She has almost recovered now, so that and my Father's illnesses, my year has been in a bit of some turmoil, I've had to stop and start work again, and put on hold indefinitely some, in fact most plans. Life changes sometimes quickly, but hopefully, what you've been through before prepares you for the change, the emotions and allows you to cope. It is a shame you're loosing the wild medow behind the house, and hopefully you have found another beautiful place to call home, one that will not be as easy for others to build over. Just keep the hills in your heart and those gorgeous wild places. 🙂 Mal.
I'm so sorry to hear that Mal. I can only imagine the stress and turmoil of having both your parents ill. I'm glad she is doing better. I hope this latter part of the year is kinder to you 🙏🏼
@@FablesandFells Thank you Chloe, I do too! The benefit is that I get Mum for longer, hopefully. From just outside Southampton we travel to the lakes sometimes twice a year, I breathe a sigh of relief when we arrive as it feels where my heart belongs. A beautiful video. The meadows where you moved from also looked stunning, really hope they are preserved. ❤
Best of luck with your new quarters and location. Your rambles through the fells were so enjoyed by so many, and will be greatly missed. Be certain that there are many biskets and pats for Kam. Stay well, safe & happy. Cheers❤❤

Our family lakeland home, which has been in the family for a few generations, overlooks a meadow that opens up the views to the fells. I would be devastated if that was ever built upon, not least if it was for something like a car park. What I've seen over the whole of my adult life is a total lack of long-term planning in the Lakes. There are far too many cars and the modern car is significantly bigger than those than those of my youth. Needless the narrow Lakeland roads are mostly the size they were 100 years ago when my grandparents were cycling them. These days I live in Switzerland, in one of the mountainous Cantons which welcomes a large number of tourists. We would never think of taking the car to go walking as there is little parking, the parking places that exist are expensive and the public transport is so good. Unlike the Lakes where most people plan walks that start and stop by their car, here we do point-to-point walks as we know there'll be a PostBus at the other end. Holiday makers staying more than a few days often get free or significantly reduced tickets. In the Lakes, if you can find a bus it's often full and therefore not a reliable solution. Fields are turned into parking, often with low prices. No wonder the car rules. I really wish that the lakeland authorities would come and visit and see how the Swiss do it. I'm absolutely not saying it's perfect here but in the whole they've managed to create a solution which works for tourists and locals alike. There also appears to be a sensible long-term plan. Anyway, do keep up your beautiful videos. They serve as a welcome reminder of my other home.
Thanks, glad I can bring you a little of the Lakes again. Things can get pretty manic here in summer, so I just go out super early. The bus fare is capped at £2 for a single journey to encourage use. I think they've added a shuttle for Wasdale which is much needed. But yes, a lot of cars and a lot of drivers not used to country lanes 😅
A very poignant video that brilliantly demonstrated your commitment to each other and your resilience in holding true to your vision. Beautifully filmed and edited as always. Well done Chloe👏🤗
Yet another stunning video. You always create such beautiful, emotional and atmospheric work. As always I wish you the best for the future and your new adventures.
i know its stressful and exhausting, I've had to move several times. I'm not sure if I've ever felt as if i were home anywhere I've lived. maybe it's a state of mind, or I'm not where I'm supposed to be quite yet. anyway. God bless you and protect you and yours. Amen.
Thanks CJ. We are somewhat accustomed to actual moving but we've never had the stress of selling and buying at the same time. I think you can make it a home, even if it's temporary. But yes, I'm sure there is a true home for all of us where we feel that sense of belonging.
@@FablesandFells yes I'm sure your right. i think i just need to make my place more homie, haha or move to a smaller home with a bigger lot. i need seclusion maybe. i hope you guys are doing well today. remember one step at a time.
I moved up to Lamplugh right on the edge of the lakes for a temporary 3 month contract and stayed 22 years, it is an amazing place to live and explore, I miss being out on the fells and mountain tops very much.
Stunning video, captivating and emotional story telling. wish you all the best settling into your new home and new adventures. My heart goes out to both of you what a difficult decision to have to make. Looking forward to what happens next.
Moving is so utterly stressful so you have my sympathies. We're currently in moving and, although where we're going is really exciting, it involves saying goodbye to the only two homes I can remember. Bitter sweet is the perfect description. (We also said we wouldn't move while our son was under one but here we are! You can't control when the opportunities come up) It's sad you will be leaving a house with such promise but hopefully your new home is just as beautiful
Thanks Imogen, I hope your move goes smoothly. I'm glad to hear it's an exciting one, though yes, it's still an odd experience to give up a place that is 'home'.
@@FablesandFells Thank you. I hope you've found somewhere you can both carry on building your life together. I look forward to seeing it in your videos! They're always worth the wait.
A wonderful video, thank you. Also, I would like to give thanks for adding the wild camping code in your description. It is so refreshing to see that on UA-cam. 😊
Good luck with your move, we bought our first house in the pandemic too, and the experience is extremely stressful dealing with agents and sollicitors. Anyhow, inspired by you in part, we finally planned a long weekend in the lakes this November, and are going to do purely high fells hiking to learn, and absorb everything, and try to let the experience lead us, maybe the Lakes could be the future, I hope it is.
Beautifully made, photographed, put together video, with a delightful expressive commentary. I stay away from the Lake District these days, too many people- but where were they this time ?!
I had moved numerous times until I moved in to Derbyshire. Something clicked and found I didnt want to live in the city or towns anymore. So over the next couple of years (or sooner if I can) my heart is ste on High Peaks area of Derbyshire. So i can fully understand how you feel
@@FablesandFells yeah after a suicide attempt in 2017 I rediscovered hiking and then learnt photography. Parents always used to take us to the peaks. Hence why I'm now living in the country, but ultimately looking to high peaks x
Stunning photography/edit, really nice drone footage/post. Sorry to hear the dream home you had found this happened, really is sod's law. I hope your partner is doing ok and keeping busy and not too threaders with the whole situation, weird time no dount. Anyways genuinely wish you the best of luck wherever in the world that takes you both and you find somewhere you feel at home and more importantly at peace and happy.
Thank you so much Dave 🙏🏼 We both accepted immediately that the situation was out of our control, so we can only control our own actions and we're happy that we made that quick decision and made this step forward.
Good luck and success with your move in life! "Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star, Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known." J.R.R. Tolkien
Lovely video. First time I've seen your channel but can see why you have so many followers. Best wishes to you and Ryan, a fellow traveller, and hope you move goes smoothly.
It is such a shame that having coped with all those years of being where you are put, the first place you chose yourselves is changed to something you didn’t want just as you are together again. I hope you have found a beautiful new place for you both after all those years of service and sacrifice ( that’s another good name for a channel). Our plans after retirement have changed as we have barely gone anywhere in our California camper since my wife’s mother who resides with us suffered an episode of delirium and is no longer capable of looking after herself for even a few days.
Yes sort of ironic in a way, but we just have to keep adapting. I'm sorry to hear about your mother-in-law and your situation. That must be very difficult for you all.

So now I look forward to seeing your next adventure. Will you document your move, and all the trials and tribulations that go with it? Cheers Graham

Saddened to hear that this door is closing, but hey another door opens. You will both make the best of it. Looking forward to the next instalment
Thanks Kevin 🙏🏼
A very poignant video that brilliantly demonstrated your commitment to each other and your resilience in holding true to your vision. Beautifully filmed and edited as always. Well done Chloe👏🤗
🥰
Yet another stunning video. You always create such beautiful, emotional and atmospheric work. As always I wish you the best for the future and your new adventures.
Thanks so much, I'm happy to enjoy them 😊
i know its stressful and exhausting, I've had to move several times.
So enjoyed this and looking forward to your next video! Best wishes on your new home!
Thanks Carol 😊
I moved up to Lamplugh right on the edge of the lakes for a temporary 3 month contract and stayed 22 years, it is an amazing place to live and explore, I miss being out on the fells and mountain tops very much.
Ahh yes it does captivate you doesn't it!
Lovely vid. Thanks
Stunning video, captivating and emotional story telling. wish you all the best settling into your new home and new adventures. My heart goes out to both of you what a difficult decision to have to make. Looking forward to what happens next.

Thanks Ellen 🌻
Lovely video, beautifully shot as always. Best wishes to you both on your new venture.
Thank you 😊
What a brilliant and moving creation.
Thank you 😊
Moving is so utterly stressful so you have my sympathies.
Thanks Richard 😊
As bilbo said of for an adventure what a great watch will watch out for you 3 new adventure begins ❤
Thanks Peter 🙏🏼
Good luck with your move, we bought our first house in the pandemic too, and the experience is extremely stressful dealing with agents and sollicitors.
Anyhow, inspired by you in part, we finally planned a long weekend in the lakes this November, and are going to do purely high fells hiking to learn, and absorb everything, and try to let the experience lead us, maybe the Lakes could be the future, I hope it is.
Oh nice, hope you enjoy your trip and it's the start of something new 🙏🏼
All the best to you both on your new adventure. Great video as always 👍
Thanks Jake!
Beautifully made, photographed, put together video, with a delightful expressive commentary. I stay away from the Lake District these days, too many people- but where were they this time ?!
Thanks Roger! I have a knack for avoiding people 😄
I had moved numerous times until I moved in to Derbyshire. Something clicked and found I didnt want to live in the city or towns anymore. So over the next couple of years (or sooner if I can) my heart is ste on High Peaks area of Derbyshire. So i can fully understand how you feel
Oh good luck with your 'escape to the countryside', it's a beautiful area.
@@FablesandFells yeah after a suicide attempt in 2017 I rediscovered hiking and then learnt photography. Parents always used to take us to the peaks. Hence why I'm now living in the country, but ultimately looking to high peaks x
@@ukhikermarv I'm sorry to hear you reached such a low but glad you were able to rediscover hiking, it brings such peace and purpose for me.
@@FablesandFells no it's fine its the last and we move on
Beautiful video, all the best for the next adventure in your life.
Thanks Gary 🙏🏼
Stunning photography/edit, really nice drone footage/post. Sorry to hear the dream home you had found this happened, really is sod's law. I hope your partner is doing ok and keeping busy and not too threaders with the whole situation, weird time no dount. Anyways genuinely wish you the best of luck wherever in the world that takes you both and you find somewhere you feel at home and more importantly at peace and happy.
Thank you so much Dave 🙏🏼 We both accepted immediately that the situation was out of our control, so we can only control our own actions and we're happy that we made that quick decision and made this step forward.
great video and story - thought provoking and inspiring!
Thanks Steve 🙏🏼
Good luck and success with your move in life!
"Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star,
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known."
J.R.R. Tolkien
Thank you 😊
All the best with your new endeavours and location!
Always simply superb narration and video work.

Thanks Liam 😊
Lovely video. First time I've seen your channel but can see why you have so many followers. Best wishes to you and Ryan, a fellow traveller, and hope you move goes smoothly.
Thanks so much 😊
It is such a shame that having coped with all those years of being where you are put, the first place you chose yourselves is changed to something you didn’t want just as you are together again.
What a beautiful story ❤🎉 Thank you..😊
Thanks Pat 😊
Absolutely incredible video thank you so much for sharing, 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Mark ☺️

Thank you 😊
Hi Chloe,
It has seemed an eternity since we last saw you but now I understand why. I love stability and certainty, moving fills me with dread, but usually once committed and you bite that bullet it's not so bad especially if you have support from family and husband. So now I look forward to seeing your next adventure. Will you document your move, and all the trials and tribulations that go with it?
Cheers
Graham
Thanks Graham. I wasn't going to document it as I thought it wouldn't be that interesting (but has turned out so much better than we could have expected, so should have). I will be sharing the experience in retrospect so I will be back back fairly soon 😊
I love you both! Thank you for such an honest video!❤️🥰
Thanks for coming along 😊
I look forward to your videos, there outstanding
Thanks so much Craig ⛰️
My best wishes to you Chloe and your partner and doggy, hope you find the next alternative to keep the mind and body satisfied.take care 💋

Thanks Harry 🙏🏼
Thankyou for a beautiful video, it made me a little sad, but things will go well for you.😊
Thanks John 🙏🏼
Ive followed you for ages. What a great story and adventure. I too am ex forces and moved to the lakes just before lockdown. I would imagine you moved north lakes and i look forward to your next vid 😊. I hope it has worked out for you both 🤞
Oh really, I hope you are enjoying it up here? Hard not too ⛰️
Beautiful video, my favourite place in the country, wishing you and the Bootneck all the best in the world 😎😎🍺🍺
Thanks Tony 😊
Thank you for sharing, God bless you and your husband in your new home !!
Thanks Jeff 😊
Nothing that’s truly worth doing is easy and everything happens for a reason. You will find your special place and it will all be worth it. Regards to the bootneck, always a little further brother 🙏🏻
Thanks Matthew, it's amazing how something even better can be right around the corner even if you can't see how 🙏🏼
Chloe, whilst you never release videos frequently enough to meet my demand, when you do, they are always visually and emotionally superb and you know you are going to settle into a good watch.
Thank you, I hope to post more regularly 😅
@@FablesandFells Looking forward to that.
