Yeah me too like 14 years! I just recently discovered that people react to Diru and first reactions especially for this Vinushka live are so much fun to watch :D
Welcome to Dir En Grey =) They are quite honestly the epitome of art in my opinion. I have never heard a band like them and my musical roots go deeeeep. Kyo (the singer) has some ridiculous range that I’ve just never heard before. Crazy high range whistle fry, super low guttural growls, and even an excellent traditional singing voice. Saw em live twice and each time wasn’t just a show, it was an experience. Absolutely recommend he song Macabre. It will blow your minds in the best of ways.
Absolutely agree with this comment . My musical roots are deep aswell and there isn't any band you can relate to . They are unique and kyo is the best vocal artist out there ...
Yeah, this guy just sings so good. I think most people would think he's an amazing singer in the beginning of this song. Then suddenly slaps you in the face with so many different metal vocals at such incredibly high level
metallica in some "era" talk about kyo like the best vocalist ever of "rock metal" .. but kyo only work with that bc the company and money.. and turns bad in that time, 2011. but till now he is the best vocalist for that kind of music "ROCK-METAL"
You haven't even touched the edge of what Dir en Grey is.... all I can say is you MUST see them live, preferably in Japan. I promise, you won't be disappointed when you look further into the band. You have no idea what you've stepped into. Diru is 5 of the most talented musicians in Japan. I've seen them once in Japan, and once in the US. You will never find such dedicated fans in any western music. Period. The Japanese live for their bands, Kyo (singer) is messiah like, a beautiful creature. People are brought to tears, every time . There are Diru songs that I can't listen to, without crying. I wish I could put into words, what this band means to me, and how they make me feel. I'm 59, I've been to hundreds of concerts in the last 45 years, and No band... none... have ever struck me like Dir En Grey, has. You need to check out more of Diru.
@Denise.. I 1000% agree with everything you said Saw them live a few times as well, lucky, even in Japan.. And yes, dedicated to the band is a very slight statement, haha.. Oh gosh, all the times I've cried too.. Even on the bus and for example a certain song comes in JUST that way and there I go, sobbing in a bus.. I LOVE THIS BAND! ❤️
33 yr old Mexican American mom of 2 kids picking them up from school but I've been a Diru fan since I was 12....watching you guys watch them for the first time and all the emotion of this song 🤯💀🤯. They are so good and the world needs to know!!! 🙌🤘👏
See the audience crying there. This song is about Nagasaki-Hiroshima tragedy which is pain for whole Japanese people. The first time I watched the MV couple months ago, I cried.
It's supposed to be about the death penalty. I think that war can be a form of death penalty wherein often times innocent people are sentenced to death "for the greater good", which might be why they chose this footage for the visuals. The line 13 stairs to the gallows is a direct reference to carrying out death penalty in Japan. The original video has lyric annotations (Kaya is ANAZING), and there's some links to blogs/articles discussing the message/theme of Vinushka. I believe it's all Japanese, but Google might be able to translate for you if you're interested =^_^=
Saya 43 th, seorang ibu dari 3 org anak. Ibu macam apa yg liatin pv vinushka ke anak perempuan 12 tahunnya yg perasaannya peka. Sepanjang lagu dia nangis😅. Saya bilang ini band favorit mama waktu masih muda😎
I love watching people react to this particular Diru song for the first time, because they're never ready for the freakout halfway through; it just keeps building and building.
Every member of this band is brilliant, and this song shows off each of their talents perfectly. Most drummers always talk about Neil Peart but i'm amazed by Shinya.
Es un temazo... cuando salio y lo escuche... Me volo la cabeza. Es una obra de arte... y la bateria es super compleja, llena de golpes, contra tiempos, cambios. Un capo
Yayayay! SUPER glad you two enjoyed it that much (: Diru are currently my favorite band because they honestly bring SO much to the table. And especially so during their live shows. I'll be sure to send more your way.😊
Thank you for such an honest reaction, guys. Music is music, the intention is always to communicate with a human on an emotional level, and the emotional response here is shameless in the best way possible.
saw them live for the first time last year after listening to their stuff for so many years. I swear i had an out of body experience, their art is really like no other and their range is unheard of. I'm so glad you are getting into them because they are still going strong (just released another single in July) hope you will get to it!!!
I think this song is how I truly learned about metal. Not the genre, the idea. When I saw them live in Atlanta, I got several bruises when we charged the stage during the heavy parts. At the end, we were all throwing our arms over each other's shoulders and singing and swaying together. I realized suddenly that humans are so full of anger at so many different things, that maybe what we need is to slam our bodies together and scream now and then. Between jobs, politics, family issues, mental issues, and all the other stuff life throws at us, it's a moment where you all work it out as comrades.
I never get tired of watching this video react specifically. You know why? The reason is because I reacted the same way. Dude I'm a dir en grey fan for like +10years now but I reacted exactly the same way the first time I watched this Vinushka video. I knew the song before, I knew the band, I knew kyo's mad talent, I knew the intensity of this, and yes I was so damn shocked... dir en grey is a masterpiece and I never get tired of them. Never. Sometimes I really wish them to be more known, specially into metal scenery, and thats why I love the wolf hunterz reacts ♡
He sang in 15 different styles only in the first half? I've been a Dir en grey fan for over 10 years but I never knew since I can't even tell lol. It's great when a vocal specialist reacts and explains what he's doing! Thanks for your reaction :)
Thank you for reacting to them! They are master's at their craft and though some of their songs most definitely won't be to everyones taste, but I would definitely challenge you to dig deeper into them. They are really great. May I request you to react to Dir En Grey - Tousei Live. This is a ballade but has its heavier moments. Or maybe check out Dir En Grey - Diabolos Live. This song is equally long as this one and just a gem, too.
Thank you! So excited to see you guys react to Dir En Grey! Together with Nightwish they are my favourite bands. This band might a bit tough to get into but once you do, it's an experience. Kyo, the lead singer really embodies his emotions on stage and he often doesn't hold back. He even blew his voice a few times, having to undergo surgery to be able to sing. The rest of the band are also excellent musicians, love how they all have their place in the band. Really hope you react more to them!
People finding Dir En Grey and seeing that Kyo really isnt human is what I've been hoping for since i was 12.. Them and The GazettE are on a whole other level to me..

Now that you've seen Vinushka, wait until you discover the new version of Macabre c: the best live imo is the live from 2013 Tabula Rasa. Everything is awesome here. I'm so glad some people out there are still discovering how great they are. And not only Kyo! At first you might be mindblown because the singer is always what's upfront in any song, but they all are pretty badass at what they do. Been listening to Vinushka for years now and I'm still always discovering a new way to be amazed of what they can create. The last amazing song they've released so far is The World of Mercy, also a pretty badass song...sadly as it's fairly new, there's no live available yet :c
Awesome. I hope you can react to more of their music or will just check out stuff in your free time. I would suggest Behind a Vacant Image or Vanitas which is more of a ballad. If you are interested to see and hear more from Kyo you might also want to check out his second band sukekiyo which is more of an experimental rock band with spanish guitars, electronics and the most modern, theatrical live shows I have ever seen. Look for songs like Elisabeth Addict or Junboku, muku de arou ga. Have a good da~
Yo! I see you on a lot of Dir En Grey videos, and you always have really insightful/knowledgeable recommendations. I just wanted to let you know it’s appreciated! May I ask which part of the world you live in? US fan here 🤝
Seeing your (on the right)'s facial expressions during this reminded me of when I first started listening to japanese music like this. You don't have to know the language in order to feel or understand the song. I was almost about to cry when you looked like you were going to, haha.
I LOVE this video so much, first of all this song is incredible, and the live version of it shows how much control Kyo has over his voice, but I was just waiting for you guys to hear him scream and your reactions were priceless LMFAO Honestly listen to some other songs, you won't be disappointed, they're just incredibly talented. And thanks for pointing out the lyrics, if you can find them you should also check out Kyo's poems, 100% worth it ♥ keep up with the great content !!
Kyo, the singer is the one that writes all the lyrics, at just 5 feet tall, seems like he is always full of energy, but he has said that he likes to give his best during his performances, even when he gets sick. He often changes his appearance, he is like a chameleon, but if you see him in the street, he looks like a teenager even when he is in his 40's. Kyo(not real name) started writing lyrics right around his teens. Many of his lyrics are dark, while others are beautiful.
Hard to understand for most people, but this is an anti-death penalty song. I believe it has nothing to do with politics. The lead singer is a lyrical genius, and I believe he always "expresses" an extreme emotional pain coming from one particular person. Name any pain. A pain so deep and personal, that you might think majority of people around you may not understand it. This band always pin points that "pain" and expresses that emotional pain. The lead singer will look like he is almost tracing that pain you've experienced in the past, in real time which is amazing. So for most people, they probably won't understand what the lead singer is doing. It could almost look chaotic.
I think it's more about condemning the war ideology. I feel sad when I see others saying it's about the atomic bombing of Japan when it's not even about that. The song isn't saying "oh look what they did to Japan". I interpreted the song as Kyo putting us in the shoes of the victims and all of their emotions in the last seconds. Politics or nationalities doesn't matter at that last moment, all you know is there's never going to be another second of your life and the people who made it possible will just go on about their life. So in a simplistic way, I interpret this song : Humans comes together to achieve great things. But amidst the congregation, ideologies of the few hypocrites (warmongers. nationalism, racism) seeps in and we end up hurting each other. After all they aren't the ones marching into war but rather sitting cozily in their office during war time. Tldr: Song is saying fuck everyone who took part in ww2, from imperial Japan to US. It's also warning us current and future generations.
Tbh it also has to do with how the gov used the people to do whatever they wanted to do. It related to unit 731 in the music video, and shows us how normal people can easily become monsters when anger comes in. It's so mystical that you can think about whatever you want to think, as long as it has a correlation with pain, anger, nationalism and war. So anti-death penalty is a perfectly fine vision. Still political tho, as a lot of lyrics throughout the years have been anti-gov...and remember the Scream 4 Truth campain (y)
Yes, the lyric is very unique as usual. It can be interpreted in many different ways. Since the title means "sin", you can also see the lyric as explaining how people live with sin amd sadness and how you cannot escape from it. No matter how much you deny it, that reality does not change. In some tours, it shows videos in the back screen representing lots of corpse hanging. Representing death by hanging of many lives ending that was considered evil. So what does each individual see as they live life? The common interpretation you could make in my opinion is about a view of certain main character, having doubt on the view of the common sense of the majority. Knowing that he or she is a minority in the society. On to his way walking up the stairs to get hanged. Hanging by death is the most common method of death penalty in Japan so it's very understandable.
This is something far beyond music.....This is an experience of collective suffering and pain of the Japanese.....It has been hidden for a long time to express their agony like this...and there is something like catharsis in the audience ....
You should listen to Yurameki and Clever Sleazoid and contrast and compare. His voice is truly something else. His voice in real life is truly beautiful. I saw them at the Fillmore in SF. At one point it went silent and he filled the auditorium with his voice. It was truly something to behold
Oooh, those guys have aged well. And they are still up and kicking in the industry. In the japanese music media, where you are nearly as fast forgotten as in the korean one, that says already a lot about them. As well as the fact that they never shifted their visual and musical style according to trends, like it was for many other j-rock (or j-metal and visual kei) bands, but only to their own pace.
Thank you so much for the video! It was one of the best that I've watched in a while. Your emotions were so cool and the whole reaction was full of life. That was great! And I absolutely love this song and this performance. Kyo is an amazing human being and one of the best vocalists in the world for sure. He will surprise you even more 😉 Highly recommend watching Tousei, Macabre and Diabolols. I hope that you'll love the journey! Waiting for more! Hope you'll have a great day and thank you once again! ♥️
I suggest you to react to dir en grey obscure live at download. The vocals are quite unreal its something you never hear from any vocalists out there. I guarantee you that you will be mind blown.
Yay!!!!! Finaly Diru is getting attention! I've been to their live twice, Kyo is just unbelievable. Also, "fun" fact: since he is so intense with his performance it happened in the past that he would just drop on stage, fainted out of exhaustion. The band has an agreement that would it happen, the song has to go on, the other band members would just keep playing and let the staf take care of him.
Where on earth did you get that "fact" from? He never just dropped from exhaustion due to his performance. There were instances where he went on stage already being ill and lost consciousness for a few seconds because nothing ever stops him from giving 100%. The band has been around for 23 years and there were only a couple of instances like this. ( And there have also been concerts which had to stop early due to the other members physical health. It happens. Especially if you have a work ethic that doesn't allow for you to postpone a concert because of illness). The times that happened the band reacted as soon as they understood what was going on and the concerts had to stop.
@@sunrise2986 there's a video of this performance on youtube. Mr Newsman, around 2003, they had to stop because the staff had to come on stage, but they were just continuing to play without realizing that Kyo passed out. This does not happen very often, fortunately. Also the staff DOES have an agreement to never come on stage whatever might happen, unless it has something to do with a musician's life in danger. That's why when there's a technical problem during a song they never do anything until the song is finished (hence the world of mercy in Chicago where Kyo destroyed accidentally his mic and sang the end of the song with no mic)
If your still looking at Japanese bands The Gazette may interest you. If you are looking for heavier sounds Deux and Ugly would be a couple of their songs to listen to.
I know your channel from your epica reactions . Dir en grey is another band I like. Kyo (the lead singer ) is a very talented person and so into his music. Try to react to macabre live by dir en grey please.

Most definitely. Dir en grey was the best concert I've ever been to..
Welcome to Dir En Grey =)
They are quite honestly the epitome of art in my opinion. I have never heard a band like them and my musical roots go deeeeep.
The dudes range is absurd
This is something far beyond music.....This is an experience of collective suffering and pain of the Japanese.....It has been hidden for a long time to express their agony like this...and there is something like catharsis in the audience ....
This is genuine first time listener react 🤣🤣
You should listen to Yurameki and Clever Sleazoid and contrast and compare. His voice is truly something else. His voice in real life is truly beautiful. I saw them at the Fillmore in SF. At one point it went silent and he filled the auditorium with his voice. It was truly something to behold
You have to check out Dir en Grey - Macabre live Tabula rasa 2013 it's a mind blowing masterpiece !
Oh definitely agree
This right here. Is one of the damndest live performances of all time.
Dir en Grey more please :D
Oooh, those guys have aged well. And they are still up and kicking in the industry. In the japanese music media, where you are nearly as fast forgotten as in the korean one, that says already a lot about them. As well as the fact that they never shifted their visual and musical style according to trends, like it was for many other j-rock (or j-metal and visual kei) bands, but only to their own pace.
The Gazette - Deux live. You guys will love it
Spiritbox- holy roller . This need to happen in your channel
Definitely
Thank you so much for the video! It was one of the best that I've watched in a while. Your emotions were so cool and the whole reaction was full of life. That was great! And I absolutely love this song and this performance. Kyo is an amazing human being and one of the best vocalists in the world for sure. He will surprise you even more 😉

That's my expression when the first time I've heard them LoL
Kyo's voice is a registered weapon of mass destruction
I swear I heard a live cat in there somewhere....lol... well he's not alive anymore from the sounds it was making....lol
That's why when there's a technical problem during a song they never do anything until the song is finished (hence the world of mercy in Chicago where Kyo destroyed accidentally his mic and sang the end of the song with no mic)
did that dude at the start do a keytar spin????? thats some seriously next level shit lmao
Yeap
Probably the most extreme fucking band on the planet
もう人間とちゃーうオーマイガーオーマイガーー京さんオーマイガー

Jupiter - Blessing of the Future live.
If your still looking at Japanese bands The Gazette may interest you. If you are looking for heavier sounds Deux and Ugly would be a couple of their songs to listen to.
