I even cry a bit... like a life defensor, I feel the pain for atomic bomb victims. I'm so sorry, and its not my country who did that... but I understand your rage Kyo, humans are such egoist creatures.
@yokoumiko7108 the song is not about the atomic bomb. It's about "death for the greater good the image of the "13 steps to the gallows" is about the death penalty, it's about evil in good and good in evil! It's never white and black! The atomic bomb is just one of the visuals!
Not really, read the lyrics, and maybe read the analysis on Kaya channel or various forums! It's more complex than "atomic bomb kills civilians"! The bomb is "just" a strong visual, and automatically, people assume it's the theme of the song
that second chorus with all of Kyo's emotions and the screen behind showing off the aftermath of the bombs is just so heavy and sad.... fuck humanity and all the pain it did, does and will do. I love Dir en grey with all my heart, they've been part of my life for almost 15 years now.
Kyo has one of the biggest vocal ranges ever. If range actually counted falsetto and vocal fry, he would very possibly be considered the biggest vocal range of all time. He's got around 5 octaves without going into falsetto or fry. With falsetto, fry and the growls he's hit as high as C#8 (people claim this didn't happen, but it did, it was just that it was on a fancam recording and most likely a whistle note) and as low as A1. He's also mastered every type of harsh vocals, from the deep deathgrowls to shrieking inhale screams. He also uses techniques like fry operatic baritone and pushing his head voice to it's limit instead of jumping right to falsetto. If that isn't impressive enough, he's, at the time of this performance, had at least three vocal surgeries, and he's deaf in one ear. The man knows no fear.
Please don't take this the wrong way but I have to correct you here. There is no such thing as 'vocal surgery'. He has been treated with medication for vocal nodule dysphonia (and a few times for inflames vocal cords as well as common diseases). But he never underwent surgery for any of that. There are multiple interviews to varify this. But of course, that only highlights his abillities as a vocalist :)
"This guy is a little demon" this sentence just made me remember what I think about Kyo. I've been listening to DEG for years since highschool & I always loved how Kyo's voice can be like an angel's voice when he sings slow songs like "ain't afraid to die" or maybe "undecided" such beautiful songs, but then he can switch to be a little demon as you said, when he sings songs like Vinushka or Different sense, idk, I love him and respect him so much! He's such a unique performer!🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
Great reaction! Since you seem to really like the crazy growls and high screams I would definitely recommend Decayed Crow live symphonic version. Kyo goes absolutely mental in that performance.
My face always makes the exact same thing at 10:40 as yours 😄 Most emotional moment in a song that is already packed with emotion. Now that I know that you love the crazy transitions I really really want to see how you feel towards their ballads. But for crazy in a different way I still recommend "Phenomenon", there are some real weird vocals in there and the song is so good! But for something similar like this "The World of Mercy" is a MUST in my opinion.
Thank you so much for doing another one of DEG. Watching you experiencing this amazing band is like reliving my first moments with their live performances. I cannot wait to see more reaction of you to them!
"This guy is a little demon". Oh, I call him Levi Ackerman of Japanese metal (hello there Attack on Titan fans😄). Dir en grey have a lot of great songs, you managed to pick two of my favourite ones. I prefer them live, but some of their videos quite nice, however I personally not found of their most gory and explicit videos not because they are scary or awful, I am ok with that just not my cup if aesthetic. And live performances always more emotional and raw than studio recordings. (sorry for mistakes, I am not English speaker but I am trying my best, lol)
There's nothing like Dir en grey. There are those who emulate, but they're in a class of their own for the sheer range of genres and styles and the oddly organic way they compose their music. It doesn't matter how many times I watch this clip it guts me. I agree with others, World of Mercy is a must. I've provided the link to their "no audience" live, it's incredibly potent. Kyo is even more intense, and wrapped in his expression. His pain. ... I'm also, as usual providing other links, but honestly after trying to get these played on many other channels, I've given up hope. I really hope you'll take a chance on these more unknown bands. They're high quality, and in this covid bs we're all going through, the Japanese domestic music industry has been gutted. These are mostly independent, but the quality is higher than much of the stuff coming out of the West. I'm disabled and have spent the last three years lying in bed. I'm making some progress now but there was a time where I just wanted to die. I even begged my wife to kill me... This video and song hit that place I was in. It's also the bipolar crazy stuff you're looking for) ua-cam.com/video/zMT15zhCvV4/v-deo.html Nazare (another deg inspired band, an amazing vocalist and musicians, sadly they've finished up due to mental health concerns and issues. Well worth a look) ua-cam.com/video/txkBUn3pfSM/v-deo.html Hopefully I've got you interested. Honestly I'm probably going to have to make my own channel to promote these bands. Nobody takes risks. Which is a shame. It was impossible to get Deviloof played a couple of years ago, Dir en grey were only played for shock value (obscure mv), Dimlim were unknowns... We managed to get them some attention, so hopefully these other bands can get some love too. Many bands were obscure unknowns until reaction channels picked them up. Bandmaid, Ningen Isu, and the others I mentioned and so many more. These bands kept me alive. I'm just trying to return the favour. Sorry for the long comment.
I am so sorry about your situation. I don't know most of these bands but I like kizu so I will give the other bands a shot. Do you know the channel "Michael reacts to music"? they draw from a pool so it's random but they give every request an equal chance.
Thank you so much for the list! I will definantly be checking these out because I like to listen to artists that haven't really been covered on top of being reacted to! I will say that since I don't listen to the music or watch only but 5 seconds of each video, that my reaction will be up to your liking but if it's anything like I have done in the past, then I will enjoy it! I have covered deviloof, and today plan on releasing The World of Mercy, maybe even Jilika as well :D anywho, thank you so much for being part of the community on this channel! I am more than willing to take risks even if I don't get too many views, if it's awesome and i like it as well as everyone else, then it's gold. :D I wish you the best! Once again thank you!
