- GRID Legends will almost certainly bring a smile to the face of any fan of the series as it mostly feels like an improvement over the already great game from 2019. The sheer amount of tracks, vehicle types with their own handling to master, and customization options are enough to make it a worthy successor to its predecessor.
But the bonuses of the nemesis system returning, the outstanding soundtrack, and the flexible cross-play online functionality make it a great racing game in a more macro sense, too. While it misses an opportunity to really connect with a more original story mode and fails to fully leverage some of its more unique characteristics, it still provides a rewarding and adaptable racing game that burns up the track in the areas that matter most. - Ігри
Just finished the campaign. I have to say I feel they deserve more than just a "neat idea" kudos for the story and the way they delivered it. Most racing games are pretty dry, but this one decided to put some effort into a story. In my opinion, if you follow the story and watch the scenes, this one can be a convincing, well executed, and sometimes very moving experience, that doesn't take itself too seriously. Very well done in my opinion.

(You referenced Split Second) I wish they would make a Split Second 2! It was on the table and I was super excited about it. Split Second was easily one of the coolest, visually amazing and funnest arcade racers ever made!
Split Second, Blur, Apex, Project Gothem, midnight club before LA. I miss them all. No games exist that could replace them. Although Automation plus BeamNG combined could be a replacement for Apex. I loved being a car designer and taking those cars out to race against everyday sports cars.
I was gonna comment on the Split second reference too.

Didn't mention how the game has characters in the story from the original TOCA game series and the entire GRID series? In fact one of the AI "enemy" drivers from the first TOCA is in this game and his nephew I think (Nathan) was finally given a face and voice. I mean, not that you really play racing games for any story, but the fact they have stuff from the TOCA games is amazing to me. Also not mentioned is the drop in drop out MP stuff with the bots? That's a pretty big one to not mention in the review I feel.
I think Grid Legends is pretty cool game it even have a steering wheel and arms disabled option.
I loved these games since their first inception. Toca and this game are both some of my favorite racers ever made. This one no different. It’s just so incredible feeling and the sense of speed is unmatched and 99.9% of every other racing game on the market. They just get everything right with this game. I just hope they come out with 10 more Locations with another four or five tracks each. Because, I don’t wanna stop playing it. I also wish they would implement a moving time of day and random weather that changes throughout the race, like Forza. Other than that, I think this game is damn near perfect. I just wish you could create your own tracks. No racing game has done this in so long. There is one on the Sega CD called jaguar, that let you create your own tracks. That was the last and only one I can think of. Truly wish they would have a track builder in this game.

I was up at 12 am and played story mode till like 5 am haha 😂 loved it. And I enjoyed grid 2019 and have loved grid since race driver grid. I do love cars and racing games. Story mode is cheesy 😂 but fun and enjoyed it and handling is super tight. Those nervous spin type of curbs are gone you can actually use them. Cars feels good and it’s a decent looking game series X. It feels like grid know what’s It is this time around I’m enjoying it and also GT7 ON FRIDAY I CANT WAIT 💕. ♥️ thanks for review

How sim like can you make it. Graphics look fun but I prefer acc and gt racing games more.
@@michaelschneider1365 It's sim cade in that it's kind of in the middle. I'd say it's not as serious as say Assetto Corsa but at the same time it's no Need for Speed full arcade stuff either but something in between. I don't know if you've played Codie's F1 games but it handles similar to tha tin that it'll punish you if you go too far in terms of flouting the rules but at the same time it is forgiving enough t obe played by just about anyone as there is a good range of difficulty customisation.
Can you watch a replay of your race? Codemasters forgot that in Dirt5.

Take off the assist,but it on expert or legendary. It's a awesome. Controller sensitivity to at least 65 makes a big difference.

120 hz mode I think is controlled from a system level with this game if u have prefer performance in settings you should get the 120 u just can’t change it from the game menus u have to use the system menu
There is also some nostalgia. Ryan mckane, the manager of Ravenwest is the guy you play as in toca/V8 supercars race driver on ps2 I think it was. Nathan is his nephew. Pretty cool to bring him back! Loving the game atm!

Next time get someone who actually knows how to drive in these type of arcade racers to give you your gameplay footage. It was obviously this guys first time lol He just plows into the other cars in every shot just about.
Turn off assist. Turn up difficulty and damage and just have fun. Not my favorite racing game but thanks to gamepass I'm glad I played it!

Yaaaaa budddy! I love That Tokyo game! I got hella far and bought a 250k car that I worked so hard for, to losing the damn memory card ! Lol dusted the ps2 few years back and tried and nope, impossible lol

Bought Grid 2019 a few back and loved it. So when I saw Grid Legends it was an instant pre order for PS5.

@@michaelschneider1365 Yeah I'm playin Zero Dawn atm can't play Forbidden West yet as it's not out on PC. I' m not interested in Elden Ring as I don' t really enjoy the soulsbourne games that much. I'm happy for those that do like that kind of game but it's not for me reallyI don't have a PS so GT7 is kind of offmy radar as well. The game I'm most looking forward to this year is Forspoken whic hcomes at the end of May.
@@sjsharp2007 I’m on the fence to get elden ring. Not a huge fan of dieing all the time but the atmosphere is tempting. But I don’t think I’m going to cave into the hype just yet and continue with horizon zero dawn west and soon gt7. Maybe get grid today because i like racing games but I feel I won’t play it after next week.
@@michaelschneider1365 Yeah Soulsbourne games are known fo rtheir difficulty I have tried playing one befoer in Code Vein. I never got very far with it. I ma ytry again as I still have it in my Steam Library but it'll be a while before I do try again I think. I'll likely no tget round to playing it till the summer. I mostly got it early as I liked the preorde rbonuses they were giving us and such. I'm working through a bit of a backlog astm bu twith Forspoken coming out in May and potentially Gotham Knights shortly after as I heard tha tmay be released early summer too and Hogwarts Legacy potentially coming end of the year this is going to be a good year for games. Only reason why I've nottouched the nwe Horizon is because it's not on PC as I really struggle using controllers for games like Horizon with my disability I need mouse and keyboard which unfortunately means waiting for the PC version. Which if the Nvidia leak is right it'll come next year

Are there any DIRT tracks for racing with the trophy trucks? Racing those on STREETS seems lame. And HOW MANY different vehicles are in this game?

I need you to tell customers if this racing game features something as basic as REPLAYS. Since Codemasters decided not to allow replays on DIRT5 (making me regret that purchase intensely).
Agreed. I expect racing games to have replays after the race. Dirt 5 was a joke on that front.

Here's an honest question: What kind of stories and characters do you want in a racing game that will not be boring? There are only a few racing games with story-driven campaign modes, yet critics treat it like there are so many of them that there's no originality anymore.
The only real breakthrough I've seen mode was Racing Lagoon in 1999: an Initial D parody turned psychological horror. That game was made by Squaresoft, the JRPG overlord company of the 90s, so they knew how to make unconventional narratives. Codemasters mostly do racing games, and they primarily stick with paddock stories. How crazy or exotic do they need to be to make paddock stories engaging?
This is why there are so few sim-cade racing games with story modes. For whatever reason, people just don't give a damn.
Story players will disown this game in a week and be on to the next product.
There's no loyalty in their minds.

I played the trial I don't see the point of this racer with forza horizon, the first real next gen game I already got preloaded all 96gb🤯 on ps5: grand turismo 7. Gt7 gonna be the first game on anything where I am gonna be saying: yo is this real? Damn sure looks real. Gt7 only 4 days away hell yah!

I have a hard time believing GamingBolt hires actual gamers to review games. Their racing lines in this video are laughably bad.
Who cares if they're great or not? It doesn't take away from the review. Games are for those who want to play, not those who couldn't be race car drivers in real life and thus spend their lives in the basement.

The game looks great, but its not challenging enough, even on the highest difficulty setting. I hope they can fix that. probably by the time they fix it, Grid legends 2 will be out. 😁

Driveclub nailed almost everything you'd want from a racing game except handling. That felt really random most of the time which was really annoying

Yeah I am late to the party. Do not buy this game. GRID's ( before EA ) graphics were top notch. Now the damage models look like someone dragged paper down a street. GT7 is awesome. I am a GRID and DIRT fanboy. I was very disappointed with this. I do blame EA. Remember EA is the middle 2 letters of wEAk and that is what this game is....WEAK!

A bunch of FMVs between every race that have NOTHING to do with your races. Essentially a low budget drama mixed with racing. Whether you wound up in first place or last the FMV is the same, and in many cases is illogical since it doesnt reflect your actual racing accomplishments.
Releasing the same day as Elden Ring and a week before GT7. EA is moronic, as GRID is just a slightly above average game that is going to get abused by ER and GT7.
Wait for the bargain bin sale, don’t buy this at launch.
It still might make sense as not everyomne hasa playstation so for those that don't Grid couldstil be a decent altrenative to Gran Tourismo. Also Elden Ring is an RPG not a racing game so again Elden ring is irrelevant here. I'v bought it and whilst I haven't got round to playing it yet I do fit into bot hthese catagories in that I don' town a PS or caer about Elden Ring so for me getting Grid Legends makes sense

Nice review..I refunded Legends straight away. The reasons..no multi round tournaments for mates like Grid19..daytime tracks look worse..sound on Legends is awful compared to Grid19..replays are static crowd cams instead of multiview dynamic like G19..do I go on?

I'm sorry but Forza Horizon has ruined all other car games for me. Best in show graphically, my preferred car handling model and it's just a ton of fun. While Gran Turismo looks better than Grid Legends, it just doesn't look better than FH5. Also the racing looks monotone. I'll wait for reviews but I'm already looking forward to Turn 10 and the next Forza Motorsport. They can't the sister series show them up.

Forza Horizon - That's just one racing series I could not get into at all
The cars in Gt7 looks better than the cars in fh5. What horizon nails is the envirement. But its arcade styre handling.i much more of fan of gran turismo than forza both i play both series through
Too bad fh5 is bland as fuck, its basically just horizon 2 with a new map - Oh wait, thats what FH3 and 4 is. Too bad tho, there are no actual good racing game in the arcade spectrum nowadays, most of them are either trash or bland. Nothing really beats the golden era of racing games, which is the early 2000's

Dont buy!! Its the most awfull looking cargame in several years!! Shame on you Codemasters. The x box one x can easily make a game 4Kwith a good framerate. Looking at f. instance Forza 7 which more or less is photorealistic, Grid Legends is directly embarrassing for you!! Make a 4K update and save just a little honour. Its blurry, undetailed and totally unsatisfying!! Not worth just one dollar with all the time you had.
30 fps on 4K was never impressive lad. Xbox one X was an embarrassment
The worst car game out there. AWFULL graphics!!! The sound not too good too. DONT buy. i played it 30 minutes and then very disappointed deleted the game again from my x one x
