I've been to the Gateshead International Stadium. It certainly needs an upgrade. They make everyone sit on one side of the ground as well. I really feel for Gateshead though, given the current circumstances, say hypothetically they win the league, they still won't get promoted due to the ground.
The Gateshead Stadium looks so alien for UK standards with that running track in it. Seems like more of an Italian arena. I like the look and feel of the pitch in Bath.
@@TFSS I've been a couple of times following Hartlepool and it's a soulless place. There are no stands behind the goals and you're miles away from the pitch. When we played them there we more than doubled their normal attendance

Scunny fan - We don't have plans for a new stadium any more. The hopes of that died years ago from the failure of Swann's pie in the sky gamble and the local council.. There was a half-arsed plan under Hilton, but he never had any serious intention with his con job.
Wow Scunthorpe, Oldham, Yeovil, Southend some former Championship/League One teams there! Oldham beat Liverpool and Southend beat Man Utd in the 21st century.
Yorks stadium is actually 8550 capacity, it was miscalculated when they were building it and no one seems to be capable of updating wikipedia. The club website does say this however
York and Gateshead are terrible places to watch footy. York is bland, boring and unimaginative. They had a great setup at Bootham Crescent, to see YCFC play at a shopping centre is a sad state of affairs. The less said about Gateshead, the better.
Atmosphere at the lner is better now though. Bootham would get 2.5k attendances in the last 20 years before we moved. Lner averages are going up year on year, this year we are looking at 5k-5.5k average. New owners are looking at where they can add things round the stadium to create a less bland bowl, (better advertising boards, huge ycfc cover over the north stand seats when it's not being used, more posters and decorations in the concourses) it's still a brand new stadium and needs a few more years to get it up to scratch. Gateshead I can agree on, the absolute state of it, probably the worst in the NL, in fact definitely the worst
why do you continue to endorse and finance adidas sweatshops? do you hate workers having Union Rights? Why do you continue to show your support for a company that has hundreds of workers die in their unsafe factories in fires when at work? Do you think that is acceptable-losing loved ones who were going to work to earn a living? Was the Bradford Fire Disaster no big deal to you either?
Yorks is hardly tin pot tho is it, it's better than half most league to and alot of league 1 stadiums. I don't think you realise how hard it is to get out of non league and back into the football league. When youve got 1 auto promotion spot and 1 play off spot plus loads of ex EFL teams fighting to get back all of them spending millions. You've then got the non league teams who want to get promoted to the EFL for the first time who are also spending millions, it's an expensive league, my team York is literally spending 5 to 6 million a season trying to get back up, they only make about 3 million a year. It's fucking expensive and hard
The Shay is my home town clubs ground, a great little stadium that deserves EFL football ASAP!
Maybe next season! A lovely ground.
The Shaymen will be back!
A proper ground instead of a soulless bowl like so many.
My recommendations have brought me here, and great video! Well researched and presented. Keep up the good work
Thank you very much, I’m glad you enjoyed!
I used to love officiating at non league football; fans were passionate and brought their love of football to the park each week.

Absolutely. It’s similar at Barnet because of low attendances but hopefully our move back to Underhill can happen.
What about Bury at 12,500?
He said non League football not amateur football

True, I haven’t been but it seems so big, especially for a team with one of the lower attendances in the league.

They don’t have a big enough following to support their own stadium unfortunately
A bit of nostalgia for me.. used to play for Kings Lynn way back in the 1970's when they were in the Southern League..... fond memories...
Wow, I can imagine you must have some great memories. The stadium must’ve been a nice one to play at! What position were you?

Good luck, I really hope it works out.

Nice to see King's Lynn Town get some recognition.
First went to Halifax in 1971 when my club Fulham played there ,oh and we lost 2-1 .
Great report, thanks
Bury FC Gigg Lane?
The whole of Twerton Park is still open! The stadium capacity has just been reduced because of safety.
Ah ok, I read they’d shut if off. That’s good!
