11:04 he's right, I try to see Lewes once a year as it's a really good day out 2hrs from me and I've chosen Lewes vs HTU over other games at the Dripping Pan pretty much for the reasons he stated
Even though it’s nearly impossible it’s class in UK you can just create your own team and possinly play champions league one day. American sports could learn a thing from it.
I am one of those Hashtag 'away fans'. I've been supporting Hashtag for nearly 10 years now (sounds crazy to even say that lol), but I live near Brighton, so getting to Essex on the train to watch a 'home' game, is both expensive (about £70 for a return train ticket), and long (about a 6-7 hour round trip). It's actually cheaper for me to go and watch a Brighton home game in the _Premier League_ than it is to get to a Hashtag home game. So Hashtag being in the Isthmian league is actually great for me! Last season they played teams such as Bognor Regis, Whitehawk, Lewes, Hastings etc, which are fairly close by to me, so I went along to quite a few away games last season! And Spencer is right. Those game always had big attendances! Hell, the Whitehawk game even had a local minor celebrity turn up to see what all the fuss was about He was rather impress by our away support!
@@JuniorParadot He is a punk poet and musician called Attila The Stockbroker. To be fair, calling him a 'celebrity' is maybe pushing it a bit (he probably wouldn't refer to himself as such either and he'd probably be offended by me calling him one lol) but he is very well known in the local area and has a bit of a cult following around England and parts of Europe (I think he does a lot of gigs in Germany, where there is a strong 'punk' scene)
@@BadgerOff32 i’m in the Brighton area myself and spent quite a lot of last season at Whitehawk games (either as a fan or as a photographer) and love what they are doing there, building the team and community in the right way!
@@JuniorParadot Yeah I was quite impressed with the set up at Whitehawk. I've lived near Brighton my whole live, and to be honest, Whitehawk (and Moulsecoomb) don't exactly have the best of reputations locally, so I was actually a little nervous about going to that game....but, I had at least heard good things about the football club itself, and they didn't disappoint. It was a fun, welcoming atmosphere! I even bumped into a group a Whitehawk teenagers (never usually a good thing lol) on the way to the ground and they were very friendly. They pointed me in the right direction, we had a chat about how we thought the game would go, they even recommended some good food at the ground lol

Well, from what I'm hearing Spencer is saying the right stuff and being smart about it. So I would like to see Hashtag United do well and a decent professional club in about ten years time. But for right now? Yeah, he's making sense.
@@DavidPortugueseGAMERThat comes with reputation though, if HTU exists in 50-100 years time it'll probably have just as strong a reputation as established Premier League teams
@@tomwhite5868 You build reputation by having a home and local's who feel represented by their club. You can't build a local fanbase without a home ground. @@jackreynolds975 I never implied that they should change the name but rather find a location and make it their home as that's the only way to make consistent revenue and build a solid fan base that's actually willing to spend money because like he also said they boost attendance numbers but are making nothing from it. Imagine being so over the fact that a few people online don't like your non-league club, that you have to repeat how "over it" you are several times in a few minutes unprompted.
I think you missed the context he was speaking about. He is talking about a sustainability standpoint, of which we know most top tier clubs are not sustainable without significant input of wealth from owners, and that most non-league clubs live hand-to-mouth each week. So from that perspective I can totally see Hastag being in top 1% of sustainable clubs in the world. I actually think he a realist and that should not be confused with arrogance.
I don’t like them, they are all media based when they turn up to other clubs. They get players that just want to get more followers on instagram yet don’t offer anything special that other more deserving clubs offer
Contradicted yourself there though haven't you. They offer something no other club at that level can offer them, Instagram followers. If that's what your goal is then they're perfect.
Well I guess nobody can create new football teams anymore as they won’t have “history”. I swear so many people don’t even appreciate the football pyramid and just think top flight football is the only football worth watching or caring about. Might as well create the super league.
