It is extremely useful and does the job of much more expensive pedals like the boosts from Origin Effects. IMHO, it’s a perfect solo boost or tone shaper.
Me too! Even earlier - more like 1969. I had a Silvertone/Danelectro with lipstick pickups going into a Dual Showman Reverb. SO MUCH CLEAN!!!! I desperately wanted to get the crunched-out tone my friends were getting with their (unaffordable to me!) Les Pauls and Marshalls. The only way to even get close was to jam that LPB-1 into the input and crank it. Those were the days!!!
I bought this and I cant be more excited! Put it before any pedal that was sweet (Keeley's Muse Driver, Blues Disorder, Boss OD3...) and itll make it sweeter! Being able to control the mid frequencies allows great tone shaping!
@@JoeBat95I’m an old guy, had an LPB-1 back in the day, but I also managed to miss the LPB-2! (Actually had the original LPB-1 that plugged into the guitar, which couldn’t be used with a Strat with its angled input jack, and later had the version that plugged into your amp.)
I just ordered one from Sweetwater. They only had 3 in stock! I can not wait to throw this in front of some overdrive and fuzz pedals. It will be a sweet addition to my pedal arsenal. 🤘EHX RULES!
@@EnJoony Indeed. That is why I specify, "without the baked in metal". The LPB-3 is essentially the metal zone without the distortion, plus a toggle switch to switch between 2 Qs for the mid cut/boost, and a few bells and whistles. The Metal Zone makes a great booster, but it always adds distortion even with the dial set to 0. The LPB-3 solves that.
At least, it's a Holy Grail with an artwork not seen before. I don't think EHX would release a new Holy Grail without important upgrades, and I can't see any aditional knob, toggle, button or footswitch.
So I picked up an LPB-3 and tested it against my DryBell Unit67 and I have to say that the LPB-3 sounded better to my ears when placed in front of my drive pedals! This pedal has everything I wanted in a solo boost… Clean boost, gain for a little grit, comprehensive EQ, and of course, a sweepable mid range. Placed in front of any of my tube based drives it elevates my sound to absolutely monstrously, beautiful solo tones. To anyone considering this pedal, I wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s a perfect boost and the price can’t be beat especially when you consider it holds its own against other boost pedals that are 2 to 3 times the cost. Thank you, thank you, thank you EHX!
Right on!! Definitely gonna snag one of these and put it in front of my Rams head!! Dig the schecter guitars by the way,i gotta Nick johnston lefty in atomic green with the 3 single coils I love it!! Cheers😎
+15 and -15. Those could just be test points on the circuit board for measurement during assembly and it could be using a charge pump to boost 9V to an effective 30V, giving the pedal much more voltage switch for much more clean boost than 9V can provide.
That looks killer! Parametric Mids. I wonder how favorably it compares to the Spark? The control feature set suggests that the LPB-3 has added versatility.
Whoever produces and plays on all the EHX videos are wizards because it always sounds amazing
That's Tom Burda. He writes, directs, records, edits, and mixes all of the EHX videos that he's in. Truly talented and awesome dude!
Right!?
This might be the most useful pedal to come out (from any manufacturer) in quite some time. And no app needed (thank God.)
It is extremely useful and does the job of much more expensive pedals like the boosts from Origin Effects. IMHO, it’s a perfect solo boost or tone shaper.
With the power of Boost, I compel you.
I've said it before.... Tom Burda is a guitar monster! Pay him more!! Great demo! Congrats on another killer product, you guys!
I had an original LPB-1 on my electric violin way back in 1977.
EH is one of America’s greatest success stories.
All hail Mike Mathews! 🙏🏼🌟

The licks at 2:15 and beyond and all over this video are amazing -- you got some BUTTER Burda!!
The real star of this is Tom's tasty riffage - wow! What a great Swiss Army knife of a pedal. Everything you need, nothing you don't.
LPB1 is one of my favorite pedals. I’ll definitely check this out.
Where the hell was I for the lpb2😂
Probably too young lol

Insane chops dude.

I had a EHX10 band eq, in the 70's, used it as a boost similar to this pedal, into a Gibson Starfire amp. Sounded Great!
This just sounds awesome.
This looks awsome! Great job again!!!
Been a fan of the LPB for a long time. Take my money! 😂
Well I did not see that coming! Intrigued-
that looks awesome. i’ve got a graphic eq i’m still learning to use
This looks absolutely perfect for me, I want to give my old Traynor a kick in the teeth.
I’ve got two of this, one for my guitars and the other is for my output eq.
What a great surprise🥳🎸⭐️
Realmente EH vive sorprendiendome, son increibles.Mis felicitaciones al cuerpo tecnico.
This sounds like a response to the Rockman . Very well done and versatile. its better at clean vs hard than Rockman original
@calebcosm26 The Rockman?!? This is a boost/eq pedal - About as far from the Rockman as can be.
As Bithead1000 would say, "I'm in, baby!"
Looks and sounds amazing
Wow! This is so cool! 😍
I'm holding onto my LPB2ube but this looks cool with the EQ and form factor.
Utilitarian. Not full of bleeping lights but a pedal that can be very useful live or in the studio. Very nice. 👌🎸✌️
The metal zone without the baked in metal. Nice 👍
@danieliger The Metal Zone is a distortion pedal - This is a boost/eq.

New Holy Grail 3:45

Yeah I saw it too...and they re-housed the nano big muff in a grey enclosure...
Is like a more advanced EQD Arrows 🤘🏻 like a pre-amp booster
I ❤ EHX
This is relevant to my interests 🤔
What is the playing in this video? Dude is ripping
Ehx was always the coolest
Looks great but the tube driven version is my favorite pedal on my board
Tube driven version?
Are you running the LPB-3 directly into an amp or with pedals? If pedals, are you running it into an overdrive or after.
Thanks!
Guitar > LPB-3 > Amp.
@3:24 Guitar > LPB-3 > BIG MUFF > Amp.

I think the best top two effect unit manufacturers are electro harmonix and digitech hands down.
I really wanna know if JHS knew this was coming lol
Okay, so now we need a double LPB-3 to get the ultimate Muff Fuzz/OD.
Noob question:
Is it an analog or digital pedal?
Well done
Wil this boost a non Tube amp. I’ve always wondered if a boost, or distortion or overdrive pedal really does anything for a solid state amp…! Thanks…
Yes it will overdrive the front end and give it a different tone characteristic.
I want this!
BADASS!!! Now I can stop using my EH EGO booster!
Well played Tom!
Probably a daft question, but would this be any good after my Soul Preacher (or before it)?
Yes Best after!
@@EHX Nice, thanks.
Ok forget new pickups!😂 parametric mid is the mutts nuts,it made the Digitech DF7 better, and boost plus para mid, awesome
How much is this, does it require a 9v battery or a power supply, how much differences from the lp1
$129 This device comes equipped with an Electro-Harmonix 9.6DC-200 power supply
Work with bass? How many db in bass and trebble ?
Yes it works with bass.
www.ehx.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/LPB-3_manual_web_v2.pdf
2nd track sounds like Wonderboy by Tenacious D. Haha
I want one 😍
@1:20 hell YES.
Sold.
when is this being released?
NOW!
Make them look like the old ones and you’ll sell more
Nice!
Awesome
Okay ya ill buy one so.
Right on!! Definitely gonna snag one of these and put it in front of my Rams head!! Dig the schecter guitars by the way,i gotta Nick johnston lefty in atomic green with the 3 single coils I love it!! Cheers😎
I had one in 1975
Tom Burda could sell me one of those anime fart pedals
where can I buy one ?
www.ehx.com/dealer-locator/
Will it work with a solid state amp?
Yes it will overdrive the front end.
Oh yeah!
This will put hairs in your chest and hombuckers on your axe!
I thought so, the only thing that threw me off was the 15v on the board
+15 and -15. Those could just be test points on the circuit board for measurement during assembly and it could be using a charge pump to boost 9V to an effective 30V, giving the pedal much more voltage switch for much more clean boost than 9V can provide.
Well, dang.
Top jacks would have made this perfect.
💟💟💟💟💟
That looks killer! Parametric Mids. I wonder how favorably it compares to the Spark? The control feature set suggests that the LPB-3 has added versatility.
Does this makes sense to use if you get your gain from pedals and not from the amp tubes?
Yes it has tons of tonal options.
