I picked up theD5 after the frame boke on my 26"Gary Fisher .It to was 120mm travel bike so I moved all the high end components to the D5. Moved the 27.5 Rockshox fork(recent upgrade on the Fisher purchased before the frame broke),the Fox float shock ,the 1x10 drive trane including the bottom bracket and cranks, the stem, and bars and currently converting to tubeless. This bike is a great bike and very capable and going from 26" to 27-5" is a good transition, still has that playful feeling of my old bike.
Hindsight is 20/20. I purchased a D7 and a D5 at the same time, three years ago. Without boring you with the specs, if you know you know, the D5 was as basic as you get. Compared to the D7, the ride experience was night and day and I believe I paid about $350 more for the D7 at the time. Well, the D5 became the red-headed stepchild of the litter at my house. No one liked riding it, it was slow (27.5” vs 29”), the 2x9 was a pain to get used to and it weighed significantly more than the D7. I finally got tired of hearing everyone complain about the D5 and fighting over who would have to ride it. I upgraded everything but the damn frame basically and I am afraid of adding up what it actually cost to more or less match the D7’s specs (1x11 groupset, 29” wheelset and tires, air fork, etc). It was definitely more than the $350 difference in price at the time between the two bikes. I am happy with how the D5 rides now, finally, but for all intents and purposes, it’s a much more expensive D7. If all you have in your wallet is $900 - $1,000, buy a used full suspension with better parts than the D5 or bite the bullet and buy a D6 or D7. Live and learn.
@@bikesonline I know this is a lot to ask for but if you send me one or give me a discount, I will make a review on it and make a couple shorts advertising it, I am an experienced social media marketer and I will gladly make some a videos about the bike on a decent followed account.
If you wanted to pick up a bike at our office in Carlsbad you can schedule that, but you would still pay for shipping to get the bike from the warehouse to our office.
Actually not hard at all anymore. Stans, DT Swiss, Industry 9, Spank, and many other brands have optional QR endcaps you just pop onto their regular boost hubs to convert it to QR 141.
I'm always so torn on these entry level bikes. For just a little bit more they can get the Polygon bike that has 12x148mm Boost rear axle (as well as other standards) and more worthy of upgrading and keeping a while. But at the same time, the bike's overall cost is the same or less then a decent fork. I guess the most important thing is to just get something and get out on the trails.
Thank you! I asked my parents for it and they agreed! Happy trails and have a great day
Awesome! Thanks so much! You enjoy!

Glad you enjoy it! It definitely has its place in the MTB marketplace and can perform really well with tasteful mods!

Great choice! Thank you for watching!
And it’s on sale for $899 right now? I’d say that’s a great entry level bike worth upgrading and buying if I was just looking for one myself!
Glad you agree! 🤙
I just bought 2, one for me and another for my son. The 2024 model is on Black Friday sale for 699. I hope it's a good entry-level bike for us.
I wish I had this bike!

@@bikesonline hi! i was wondering if the polygon d5 has 29 inch wheels and what the suspension dimensions are
Do you think it would be possible to put a DH fork on this bike ?
We don’t recommend that. See our video about forks for best practices.
Absoloutly do not put a dh fork on this😂
😍😍😍
🙌🙌🙌
Hey guys I was wondering if you could do a review of the new collosus n7
Thank you for asking! It's in the works, don't you worry!
The 141 QR rear wheel will be almost impossible to upgrade...Stupid sizing, Had one on my Voodoo, Couldnt get a decent upgrade anywhere.....

Exactly. This bike may make sense for some people, and not for others. There's no right or wrong answer.
