Just got mine last week and hit the trails this weekend. Loved it as an upgrade to my hardtail.
I bought my wife a polygon d7 one year ago. It’s a size medium so she and my daughters all use it (plus a number of my buddies). It’s a great bike at a super price point. I have recommended it to several other family members. For the price it’s a no brainer. Bikes Online has also been very good to deal with as well, so the company does a good job of supporting their customers. The bike shipped from San Diego, their US headquarters, so the consumer doesn’t deal with overseas shipping issues. Modern geometry to boot!
I really appreciate you writing this. I ride and n7 and have been looking at getting one of these to replace my wife's hardtail
I wasnt happy that when my T8 arrived (around 5/01/21) the cool lil cardboard box inside that had all the paperwork and tools etc had been opened and pretty much dumped out inside the big box and the big box had a hole in the bottom from shipping so who knows what was missing.
More importantly- they had Vee tire co tires on the bike instead of the Schwalbes that they listed. - Those are worth about half as much by the way. -also a paint chip by the emblem on the headtube.
So I emailed them -only about the tires- asking them to take the vee's back and send me the Schwalbes...
The bikes online guys try to distance themselves from polygon like it was a different company and took zero responsibility for the manufacturer swap. (polygon is the only bike online bikes sells)
They said there was a shortage (obviously you can buy as many Schwalbes as you want on Amazon).
They said I should be glad i didnt have to wait longer for the right tires ( I did wait about 4-5 months).
Im ok with taking a chance to save money adjusting the bike myself etc, Im not ok with this company not sending me what they advertised and what I paid for.
From talking to my reps I'm learning some pretty scary things about getting parts right now. I can understand that Bikes Online shipped with different tires but the communication back to the customer could have been a lot better. Now that you've got the bike up and running, how is it? I have a T7 coming in for testing soon.
If my local bike store sold anything other then Trek, and had more then selection of "we have a Marlin 5 and 6" I would consider buying from them. I asked about them ordering me a model I wanted and they laughed. Guess I'll just go online? Marin San Quentin 1 is on it's way! Can't wait to ride it for 6 months and curse myself for not buying a full squish lol.
definitely a good first bike for getting started in the sport
i bought one and I get it tomorrow! I am new to the sport. Wish me luck
a bike like that would probably be good enough for 99% of riders out there.Just like a hardtail thats 500-1000$ would..Everyone likes to spend $$$ though..If i were in the market i would for sure check this one out..Good video thanks Gene!
Good evening, I just got my d6 thanks to you, after I watch this video I made my decision. I did use the link you left in the description hope that helps for your time and good content. This is my first full suspension. I can wait
Thank
Just bought one on sale for $900. Probably the best sub $1000 bike available.
@@SuperBrownsugar95 It has been rather nice. My only real complaint is that the fork could be a bit better. That being said it's still better than the coil fork on my old hardtail. I have no regrets with my purchase.
Finally A Great Review!
Nice video. You see lots of people riding Polygon's on the trails in Australia. I don't own one (I have a Merida) but a few people I've spoken to have said the Polygon is a really good entry level bike
planning on getting it dont have the money for more expesive ones tanks for an amazing review
Been looking at this bike alot and this gave me great advice to get it
Glad I could help! Please use my link if you feel this video was helpful. It really means a lot to me and helps the channel out big time!
Contemplating on buying one myself, how well does the suspension soak up rock gardens?
I have Siskiu N9 beast from a Diamondback Atroz 2. It eats up everything!
SWEET! So you went with the big boy bike ;-) My next Siskiu will be a T8. I currently have a Santa Cruz Nomad 4 C that would be more like your N9. The Nomad is an enduro type bike (much like your N9) and I'm looking for something just a little bigger than the N6 for the trails I ride. Glad you're happy with your bike!!!
I was looking for a fs under $2k and it was a toss up between the giant stance and the polygon vander T7. I chose the vander because it had better geometry, 130mm travel,, thru axles front and rear and it was more available. I would've loved to support a lbs but as you know shops in NJ are empty with bikes in the sub $2k range from any of the big brands. I've had my vander for 2 weeks and am loving it so far! I think along with the vitus mythique it is the best bang for buck entry-level fs bike out right now. Gotta get up north to your area and ride Ringwood......looks awesome!
@@davidbartsch255 I love it! Just had to fit it to my body a little more by way of shorter stem and higher rise bar and its been great so far! Went tubeless as well and got rid of the schwalbe tires. The recon fork is just ok.....its always sticky for the first few pumps but after that it's fine.
Thank you very much for this review!
More more people every day enter MTB world with this affordable bike..
old vid but they currently have them on fathers day sale for $1,099 just got one. Its the upgrade to my Giant Talon 4
Was torn between a Polygon and YT. YT won out. They were in stock, Polygon wasn't. Still interested in getting my oldest son on a Polygon.
I'm sure the YT is also an amazing bike! I've seen a few and they are legit. Well I can tell you that this Poly is pretty freaking sweet! I didn't think it would be bad but was expecting at least a little more drop in quality for the price. I was completely wrong and having a blast riding this baby ;-) If you do buy your son a Poly it would mean the world if you used my link please 👍
Thanks for the review... I bought the bike then watched the review... Good to see I did ok lol
I bought a siskiu T7 after watching your videos and others, so yes these videos helped me make the decision to buy one. BUT and please stay with me. When unboxing I found the stem had two stripped bolt holes. Well they are affordable so I just bought another one. And then the big problem. After my first ride I found three broken spokes. So I contacted BOL, I sent a video showing the problem with all the info they require. Two weeks later I received an email saying that my ticket has been resolved and they are happy that I am enjoying the bike. Well I still had broken spoke nipples. So I contacted polygon and they informed me that all they can warranty is the frame. So basically if a person has problems all they are going to do is pass the buck until you mad and over it. So I spent more money and had my bike shop fix it. And I shouldn’t have had to. I’m not upset with you or any other UA-camr. I’m just letting you know what happens to the average person when we have problems. Other than the lack of warranty I do like the bike “after the bike shop checked every inch of it “for any more problems. So maybe you could let the average guy know about the warranty issues. My self the way I feel now, I should have bought one from the bike shop and I shouldn’t have been so cheap. I thank you for your videos and your opinion and I don’t blame you or anyone else for my bad luck.
I think you bring up a good and very important point. There is always this issue of going online for bikes and possibly having an issue. It's very hard to beat the service you get from a bike shop. Though I would say that your situation is not a common one it certainly can happen and you have to weigh out the saving you got from buying online. There certainly is some level of risk that you need to accept. I'm sorry this purchase was not smooth but I'm hoping you're enjoying your bike now!
Yep, my bike took 11 days to arrive after paying for express post, bike was missing in transit for 7 days. Box arrived damaged, asked BOL for a refund of the express post and they have just ignored me, I bought a 2023 t8
@@rgmtb well I have spent the money and it’s apparently obvious that BOL will not fix or replace broken parts so I haven’t tried to get a refund. “POINTLESS”. So I upgraded the brakes to XT, front and rear. I have installed a carbon fiber handle bar, I went tubeless and got a better saddle. Every time I ride, at least one person will ask about my bike and after my experience I tell them the truth. When it all started I wanted to replace the Siskiu decal on the top tube with screws you, get it polygon screws you. LOL. Well you know it wasn’t polygon, so I didn’t do it. But my mouth runs ramped about BOL. I spread the word. Load and proud
I’m currently looking out my window at the Siskiyou Mountains. I could never buy a “Siskiu.”
@@edotalmor9208 - At least they spelled those place names correctly. What exactly is a “Siskiu”? Around here, it would be like wearing Nikey shoes.
Just ordered mine on online bikes for 899 😀 stoked
Great vid. Quick question, this bike geo says that the bb drop is 47mm, bb height is 326mm, I compared to a lot of different downcontry bikes and this Polygon D6 has a veryyy low bb drop and height. What are your thoughts of that? Did you get any pedal strikes?
Saludos desde Ocala Florida...
Nice video and review!! I would like to see a review on one of their hardtails if at all possible. Anyways looks like a solid bike for the price.
I ordered the D7 today!!
@@rgmtb Will do! This will be my first time on a dual suspension.

Here's a link to check out all the great Polygon mountain bikes, including the D6! bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/a1m9Aq
Amazing review I do wonder though would would you upgrade on the bike if you could although there is always better but just curious
I bought a Polgon Extrada 7 1x12 it’s a good bike.
Gene, can it be upgraded? What size is that one? It’s got my interest.
Sure thing! I've already started having some fun with mine HAHAHA! I'll be putting out an upgrade video on the bike shortly so stay tuned!
How tall are you I'm 5 10 and not sure if a large would be to big for me thanks for all the helpful info
I'm 5'8" and ride the med. For you I would go large. I was even thinking a large for me since I'm on the fence. If you do choice to buy could you please use my link. It won't cost you a dime but it really helps me a ton!
Seems the 2021 D6 is only available in Australia? And there's no 2022 version?
Is this an Advert?
I’m tossing up between this or the d7 is the price difference really worth it? Couldn’t find the comparison video you said yo were going to do between the 2 models cheers.
Sorry, I'm still working on that video. Here's the deal, after borrowing my buddies D7 I have to say that it's really a great value. The D6 is good and I'm happy with it but the fork had to get replaced. The stock one was just to low end. I talk more about this in my upgrade video. But what really sealed the deal for me and the D7 is the better drive train. I'm not sure where you live but if you have hills you want the extra gears that the D7 comes with stock. The D6 needs some upgrades stock but the D7 is more solid out of the box. Please, if you've found this information and my videos helpful could you use my link when making your purchase. It really does help the channel 👍
Would you recommend the D6 or Giant Stance 1/2?
having trouble finding an entry level. this or the D7? Is there enough difference?
So I can’t ride the bike with the tires it gives me cus it’s not tubeless? Very confused
Thinking to buy secondhand Polygon siskiu d6 2018 vs. GT avalanche expert 2014 vs. Giant fathom 29 2 2017. Which one would be the best choice if its conditions and prices are same.
Please help me any advice and suggestions? Thanks!
I have a hard time with size. 5 11. 305lbs. Inseam 30 in. Had spine surgery so i need to be more upright. The size estimator says i am out of range or something went wrong. Lol. If the large is a bad fit do they take it back and give me a different size?
Do you think this model would be good for a beginner mt biker? Or would you recommend a hardtail first (like the xtrada 7)?
It really depends on what kind of riding you plan on doing. I would say that the D6 and the Xtrada 7 are both at the same level. The difference is the suspension. So if you're just starting out on some basic single track and not hitting to much rough stuff, go Xtrada. If you do plan to get into some of the more bumpy stuff then you will enjoy the D6 rear suspension. Remember, you're only a beginner for a little while. After a few rides you'll start to get the hang of this sport and want to challenge yourself on more advanced trails. Make sure you are buying the bike that you plan to be riding for a while and not just the bike you are looking to ride day one. Below are a few links for you.
If you found this comment helpful could you please consider buying through one of my links. This really helps the channel out!

Thank you!
Would you upgrade the front suspension at all?
Yes. The stock fork is good to start with but upgrading it would be on my list. I have a video coming out soon taking about upgrades for this bike.
Does it come with pedals out of the box?
Yes Sr. They are black, aluminum and have small pins to help keep your feet connected. Not bad for included pedals. Personally I'm a fan of the Catalyst Pedals but that's just my flavor 👍😃👍
Yes but they arent much to talk about. Better off getting a nicer pedal.
Rack for suburban?
how much does this bike weight
I am really highly looking at this bike, I am afraid that it is only a few ticks better than a Walmart bike and not the quality of a Giant Stance or a Vitus Mythique. Any concerns that this bike would not hold up to a beginner/medium level rider? Thank you
With complete an total respect and kindness, this bike is SO FAR PAST a Walmart bike. The only bike from Walmart that I would put in this category would be the Viathon GX that I did a review on here ua-cam.com/video/kC78rqqMILo/v-deo.html
The only thing a Walmart bike has in common with this bike is that they both have two wheels. Clearly I'm beating on the Walmart bike and if the options are, sitting on your couch all day or riding a bike, buy the Walmart! But these are not the same quality at all.
Now, as for your other question. I have not ridden a Vitus yet. Maybe I need to reach out to them? So I can't give you any help there. I did do a review of the Giant Trance and LOVED IT! Here is my review ua-cam.com/video/Ij1dKmJyz8k/v-deo.html I would buy that bike in a heart beat as well and have no problem putting both these bikes side by side on the trails.
Your final question regarding if the D6 would be good from a beginner / medium rider, no problem there at all! I'm still riding it now! Plus, I'm lending this bike out on my Meetup rides for folks that need a bike.
I truly hope these comments help and hope you have a great bike season this year! If you do choose to buy a bike from Bikes Online, please use my link because it really helps me out big time!
Did u have to change the rear suspension air at all
Isn't rockrider st900s cheaper and better? + Much lighter..⚡
I've never heard of the brand until you made this post. I'd have to check them out.
Can you clarify on the weight of the D6 I’m reading some saying 33-34lbs and bikesonline stating over 37lbs?
Can u put fox shocks on it rymathom 34 front forks and rear shocks

I am getting a lot of conflicting info on the tires, some say they can be tubeless and others say they shouldn't. Any info on this?
Understood. The tires that came on my build CAN NOT go tubeless. Now I say "On my build" because parts are tough to get and sometimes tires do get swapped out. The rims can go tubeless after getting taped but the tires must be replaced. I'll be honest, just expect the worst and plan to replace the tires. I've had amazing success with Conti Trail Kings and highly recommend them.
“Sis goo” 💀 💀💀
Donde puedo comprar esa bicicleta?...
Anybody from usa got this bike and how the experience in terms of shipping.
Thanks
someone said that it is from San DIego. "The bike shipped from San Diego, their US headquarters, so the consumer doesn’t deal with overseas shipping issues"
I’m in Florida and shipping is spot on. It’s the warranty I’m not happy with. So I came to the conclusion that there is no warranty and I have taken it to the bike shop and paid for it. If you can get past that, then you can enjoy the bike. It is a good bike.
Donde consigo esa bicicleta...
Will 2.5” tires fit on this bike if wanted to get something wider?
I would agree with Damien on this one. The fork is non boost so that is a little tighter then the rear. You can get 2.6 on this bike but what really is impressive is how much room the rear triangle has for tires. Even with 29's you can get a pretty beefy tire in there. You will have no problem with 2.6.
Any comments regarding the weight? Site says 37lbs. That is really heavy.
Appreciate the reply. Trying to decide if I should buy this or Vander T7. Not much choose left in Large now.
@@marclayman8799 Stock should be increasing soon like the end of April from what I'm hearing. Still, I don't think anyone knows for sure :-( I hope this video helped you learn a little about the brand. If you do choose to buy could you please use my link. It really helps my channel big time 👍
@@rgmtb I appreciate the video. Not many out there. I’ve purchased 3 bikes from bikes online. Preordered 3 Relic 24 for my kids. They have been great bikes so far. Did replace the tires to something better so far. My young son’s are loving going to the bike park and trail!
Are you I America
You copied some of the sayings that the bike review on the website said. You’ve done your research!😁
I'm looking at getting the Xtrada 7, when it comes back in stock. I see you're on a medium with 29in wheels. Any issue with toe overlap at that size frame? How tall are you? I'm 5'6" with a 30" inseam and fall right between a small and medium. They are recommending a M with 27.5 but I think I'd like to go 29 if there are no overlap issues.
This bike is like the Anglo-Saxon Rockrider...
You didn't say "reached out to me" FGS! - They just asked, nothing more dramatic than that
Unfortunately they are a little bit more expensive. :(
What bike are your looking at now than? What is your price range? I'm not gonna lie to you, these bikes are about as good a value as you can get for a good bike. What are your thoughts?
Hello there ñ, thank you for your reply. Originally I didn't wanted to expend more than 1,500 but I noticed that most of the "entry level / inexpensive bikes" are around $1,800 - $2,300. When I looked around these bikes were popping up everywhere and also te Vitus VRX. I mostly a road / gravel cyclist and I am not looking for the top notch mountain bike because I live in Orlando Florida and there's not many vrazy trails around here yet you can find nice technical trails on nearby counties. I'm not sure if I should get a hardtail of a full suspension. The only real reason that I am looking for a full suspension is that I never had one before and is a nice little trail next to my house that I noticed some MTB people jumping around.
I think that $1800 is alright for now but I can stretch it up to $2000@@rgmtb PD: what do you think about the Montague Highline? Thank you.
Nah the thing can go wrong is how you are selling it. its WRONG. This is not a good bike
I bought this bike Saturday 4/3 using a debit card. The money was deducted from my bank account. On Monday the 5th I get an email saying that my card was declined because my IP address is black listed. I connect to the internet using a VPN service. That was my stimulus check. I'm now setup to pay PayPal, I'm sure that once the money is refunded this bike will be out of stock. Very unfair, this is so wrong.
@@rgmtb Yes, the refund posted to my account the next day but the bike was out of stock. Vinee at Bikes Online was very helpful, the company did nothing wrong. Next month I'll have more $$$, if in stock I'm going to buy a Vander T7. Thank You
@@jeffblack7970 I'm glad things worked out. The Vander T7 looks like a great bike! Please post back when you get it and let me know how you like it! (and yeah, if you could use my link when you buy the bike it would be killer hahahaha).
How does the fork compare to a Suntour Raidon? Also would you spend the $300 extra to get the D7?
I'm not sure exactly how it compares. I can say that this fork is very similar to a baseline Rockshox Recon.
Great question about the D7, let me give you my two cents. If the goal is to get a mid level full suspension bike with some good parts and you don't want to do any upgrades, stick with the D6. If you have the extra money and want a bike with a few higher end components and again, not really into upgrading the bike then buy the D7. Now, if you're are into upgrading your bike I would recommend the D6. This bike comes with some good parts that will allow you to get riding right away and allow you to get the parts you really want on the bike little by little. It's not like the D7 does not have great parts but let me give you an example of why I pick the D6 for upgrading. I'm hooked on Box Components right now. None of these bikes offer that type of drive train so why would I want to spend the extra coin on a bike for a better drive train the I'm just gonna take off. Sure, I guess you could sell it for a few bucks but do you really want to deal with that? Hope this long reply helps ;-)
oh my gosh the amount of times I've searched this bike on youtube for a 2021 good review, fiiiiiinaly!
