Things you never say after watching an f2 race: "I don't think there were enough red bull liveried cars"
BWT: "I ruin the most liveries."
Red Bull: "Hold my energy drink."
lol
Or.... I wish Mahaveer would make a comeback...
Applicable to all of motorsport, really. One could argue no one is as passionate as them in extreme sports. Or, they might be oversaturating the market. IDK…
Wish they would make them different flavors
Something I noticed being criminally unnoticed, is during the F3 feature race, Pepe Marti (in his rookie season) went from p30 all the way up to P9, whilst finishing about 12 seconds ahead of his team mate in p10
He’s not a rookie, he completed a full season last year…….
Rookie or not, it's still quite impressive
Barnard did something similar, to a lesser extent, started P18 and finished P9, in the second worst team on the grid.
He's also in his rookie season, having jumped directly from F4.
@@TheEmm4lpha barnard is an unreal talent F1 teams need to be looking at him
Oh I love how they put the F2 and F3 races as a comic relief before the serious race begins.
😂😂😂
Well F3 doesn't race again til May 20th at Imola, so all that time off should totally help.
As if the F1 race wasn't also complete chaos...
The 2022 Bahrain feature race was a great example of this, between Nissany driving like a maniac and botched pitstops and a tire rolling down the pitlane, it was funny as fuck
@@PiousMoltar
Not at all
Will is licking his lips at all the content he can have through the chaos going on in motorsports
Pretty much 😅
Venturing into other series with the comedy review style is something we never knew we needed, and now can't live without.
@@JohnSmithShields FP1 will world rally championship incoming?
@@JohnSmithShields well nascar racing as much as I like it is a comedy review unto itself
You'd think Australia was the most dangerous track ever created if you watched all the races and were new to the sport.
2002 and 2008 happened. But Melbourne still doesn’t fail to surprise me.
high speed track surrounded by walls, grass and gravel... with some corners very inviting for an ill-advised overtake attempt
You could pick pretty much ANY of the other racetracks in Australia and they'd be safer. It's pretty laughable that Albert Park is the only track in Aus with an FIA Grade 1 rating. Some big money changed hands to get that sorted.
@@woopimagpie but its so handy being in the city. Imagine it was at Phillip Island??? with its 1 toilet block and virtually no accomodation on the actual Island.
@@woopimagpie you must be one of those who like Paul Ricard 😅
Martins sending it into Hauger before they even crossed the line ruined the weekend
Well it did for them at least
If those weren't a complete disaster, you might as well check out the support races that Supercars championship and their support categories put on.
I mentioned that one. Ho boy, two races where they ran more under the Safety Car than under Green.
Two videos in 24 hours we really are being treated!
common will W
Indeed!
The other categories were nuts as well. A car ended up upside down during qualifying for one of the Porsche Carrera Cup races, while during one of the races two others crashed on the run to turn 9. And as for the Supercars...
Controversy over tyre changes in Race 1 (teams exploiting a loophole thanks to the race being called wet)
Nick Percat's Ford Mustang catching fire in Race 2
James Courtney's Ford Mustang catching fire in a similar yet bigger way in Race 3
Several time penalties for unsafe releases over the course of the weekend, one driver even getting done for it twice.
Not to mention some big crashes.
Not to mention SVG spun twice at high speed and almost didn't hit anything. You know the track is garbage when that's happening to a driver of his ability. There were several very similar incidents at that part of the track over the weekend, I have no idea how Albert Park keeps getting a Grade 1 certification from the FIA.
I think there is a sizeful gap in F2 / F3 / Indy coverage on UA-cam that you can keep treating us to! Love these vids as I don't follow the series close enough.
It’s up there with that European F3 race at Monza a few years ago. I think some conversations about driving standards will and have been had. Great racing as ever tho. Nice one mate.
Thanks Chris! And yeah got to agree, tho 2015 monza was on another level 😅
A lot of the problems seemed to be that the drivers were incapable of managing cold tyres
RedBull: Alright, a new seasons starting in the juniors. Helmut, you think we really need to sign anymore young drivers. Weve got like 80 already.
Helmut: I want to collect them all.....
RedBull:........Okay, how many should we sign.
Helmut: Yes.
I swear the scariest thing on the broadcasts this year is "isack hadjar team radio" appearing on the graphic
You didn't even mention all the Supercars catching fire 😂
And starting the Sunday race under the safety car because they didn't trust them not to crash 😂
@@walover165ah the stating under safety car was because they didn’t trust another car to not turn itself into a mobile bonfire
@@matsimmo6208 I think it was a bit of both. They couldn't afford any delays on Sunday, and they sure didn't want another barbecue.
@@walover165 no mate, it was purely because of the fires
And going time certain thanks to F3..
The whole weekend in Melbourne just had some sort of chaotic atmosphere about it and it’s not just the F1. But also F2, F3 and V8s
And Porsche Carrera Cup. One of them ended up on it's roof don't forget.
Bless you Will
May your content keep coming to fix our crave for more
The Australian Superscars support races were just as shambollock too, not sure if they were broadcast in the uk though.
With a name like Montoya, that guy would be more at home on an ice hockey rink.
Colapinto obviously took his tips on “how to deal with a high speed puncture” by watching old episodes of Police Interceptors
That is a damn good show
imo if f2/f3 go to a brand new track like they did here, they need more practice before the races. Most races in Europe the majority of the drivers have driven the track already (except maybe silverstone, hungaroring, etc) but at a race where NO ONE has ever driven it before its just too unsafe, it was lucky this weekend that noone was hurt
Also that weekend was the Supercars Championship and Porsche Carrera Cup Australia. Both had multiple crashes but the Supercars had 2 cars in different races explode into a ball of flames on lap 1. Carrera cup somehow managed to roll a car in the final corner
Nissany’s crash on Sunday is definitely at the top of the list of dumbest crashes of the year
martins absolutely punted hauger off - not haugers fault lol
F2 and F3: "We're the opening acts before the serious race begins!"
F1: "Hold my Ferrari champagne."
I think you can keep F2 and F3 in Europe. They took away from the V8's and other Australian support categories that would have been much better for this weekend.
Personally, I disagree! Loved seeing F2 and F3 racing in Australia. I can totally appreciate the Australian categories but they're already reasonably accessible to us unlike f2 and f3. while it's great to see some local support categories the supercars and porsche's gave me enough of an Aussie fix through the weekend, especially since there were Australian drivers in all of the formula categories.
Nice video and how nice of them to provide content. Also "helping" is that F3 and F2 are spec series, so everyone in F3 is driving the exact same car with the same engine and everyone in F2 ditto, so you get all sorts of fun cause people will swap places over and over again.
You have no idea how much I laughed during the weekend just watching the juniors doing their things. Man, this is why I love them so much. Besides the competition, the chaos was what I seeking for
yeah I've grown to love f2/f3 for this very reason, they're complete terrors, the young drivers and this competition is supposedly where that is weeded out of them haha
I’m kinda surprised you left out the crash filled practice and quali sessions
Those guys are the cream of the young drivers. They went throught international go kart competition. The level of those races is incredibly high, this is why there's some crashes. Each place need some big risk. Those guys are pure talent. I'd like to see yourself.
Awesome video.
Please do more about the junior categories
8:50 "Except for Martins and Hauger, *they* couldn't even make it around the final corner without wiping *each other* out"
Look, I know it's meant to be funny, but this was all on Martins. Hauger was on for a 10th-->Podium race before that.
Was there watching the F2 sprint, the cars are faster than you think and the crashes where spectacular and the boos when doohan was spun was SO LOUD
The Sophia thing made me cry
Why does the race feed spell her name wrong?
@@KillZoneHart1 cause "ö" is difficult to write on a qwerty-keyboard and "oe" is the grammatically correct way to replace it
FYI, Masi was there because the Australian V8 Supercars were there, and he's one of the bosses on the Supercars board, hence why he was there. The v8s also did 4 support races on the weekend!
This Australian race weekends was one of the craziest race weekends I've seen in years...
I think Albert Park must have heard all the comments about it being boring and decided to spice things up this year.
It's like delvin defrancesco decided to race in f2, f3, and indycar!
😂😂😂
5:48 "that was awful I'm sorry". In other words, sorry not sorry.
3:32 i was standing right there when they crashed that was our spot for the day on saturday and the impact its so much louder than you can imagine and there was harldy anyone standing there and when they crashed all of a sudden there were like 100 people crowding around and i was in the front of it all best day of my life
Watching this in 2024 now and I almost choked when you said the sentence: “championship leader Ralph Boschung”
I know right I thought he was going to be a championship contender
But he only scored one more points finsh that year
So what your saying is that the junior category’s are like a f1 22 open lobby
Looks like f1 22 online open lobbies
Your sacrifice of precious life extending sleep is very much appreciated Will, cheers 🍻
You could have just played the red flag meme for 2 minutes.
Excellent work Will.
That should have been my April fools video!
@FP1Will noted for next year.
Lock Picking Lawyer currently owns the April 1st honours, and somehow doesn't get demonetised. Check them out, they are worth it.
because of the chaos in F2 and F3 that effected the Supercars races and made the friday and saturday races time certain
F1 without tyre warmers would shake the grid up massively
we got to albert park late on the day of the F3 sprint and one of my mates said “don’t worry i bet there’s a red flag so we won’t miss much”, low and behold we got there and there was a red flag 😂
How many Mazipans are in F2 and F3 wow.
How many???
Yes
Your videos are more entertaining than F1 itself! I'd rather watch a recap by you, than waste time watching the races.
Haha cheers man! Appreciate it!
Absolute chaos in all the F2, F3, Supercars and Porsche Cup races. I watched them all and loved every one.
Hadjar and martins join France and go on strike during the race
And if you thought the F2 and F3 were chaos, the Supercars were almost as chaotic, spontaneously combusting Mustangs and all that......
F1 drivers watched all that and thought "that looks like fun!"
I fell asleep while watching...F3...I think it was...and woke up hearing it's lights out and away we go
For lap 1, I hope? There were 3 “lights out and away we go” spiels from Crofty last weekend.
@@rongiefaustino8867 luckily yes 😁
I do not understand the desire to get rid of tyre warmers. It creates safety issues for no benefit.
LOL didn't expect this man! Great Job!
I really enjoy Will's video's.... but this one is clear in it's message that I never have to watch there junior series. I enjoy competence, not the lack thereof
Idk it's fun watching drivers come up and it makes for a great weekend trackside.
@@KlaximumSkroeft some people will surely like the lack of competence. But I am not one of those.
i always love watching f2 and f3 since they race like psychopaths on crack which is a guaranteed recipe for spectacle!
Petition to make F2 and F3 Comedy Reviews as well!
Bro you’re gonna kill me 😭
0:14 every british and european person cries and whinges when the race is on late at night or in the morning ON A SUNDAY when us australians have to watch it AT MIDNIGHT, YES 12:00am ON A MONDAY
Why the shade for Flörsch?
i dont think it was just the drivers fault ,the surface was so slick and i wouldnt be allowing albert park to be on the season year
As someone who was there in person.. haha l loved all the crashed and drama from the f2/f3.. also thought they sounded better than the f1's. Still loved the supercars and porche races as well with wheels coming off and cars catching fire haha
I don't follow these formulas so I get a 'huh?' moment when I hear Mansell took out Montoya and Fittipaldi did something.
At least there were no serious accidents
great stuff do IMSA and the WRC too !!!
F2 was some of the best racing I’ve seen in a while but it usually is.
Doohan’s pass on Jak Crawford was always on. Crawford trying to contest it - and then going off the track - wasn’t and the stewards agreed.
Roy Nissany is the new Pastor Maldonado.
Either Hadjar’s voice hasn’t broken yet or his seatbelts are too tight.
Your commentary reminds me of the Clive James commentary on the 1986 F1 season review. Make it just a little more cruel and it'll be perfect!
These guys must have just watched a replay of NASCAR at COTA and forgot that their cars do not have fenders.
Hilarious commentary 😊. Thank you.
I may have only driven formula 4 cars for about 2 races, but our two races were as close and no contact and only 2 crashes. i was shocked about how much people crashed at the Aus GP this year in ANY series, let alone both F2 and F3
It's a very sketchy track, one little mistake and you're in the wall. Some parts of the track were so slippery cars were losing traction and spinning out whilst going in a straight line. I have no idea how it keeps getting a Grade 1 certification from the FIA, it's dangerous AF.
@@woopimagpie i mean i love the circuit. it's been one of my favorites for a long time. as for the slippery track, we were in mixed conditions in road atlanta and that is sketchy. Albert Park is almost perfectly flat
Like F3 & F2 , its fun & at time dear god its pure crazy,i only wish it had more spotlight on them(kinda like the old Renault 3.5 had in its glory days),however i wish the juniors didnt had the team livery(RB cars all over),also now i wish SuperFormula was easier to see and compare with these 2 for fun(and NO no thanks on indy, rather enjoy touring cars than that).
You didn’t even include the v8 supercars blowing up and going in flames as well
It´s almost as if the reworking of the track and the abundance of drs zones did not improve racing.
Wasn’t it nissany that punted hadjar not theo coz I remember hadjar just unloading on nissany over the radio 😂😂😂
you missed the cars spontaneously igniting in the supercars too...
This might be inspired, HE'S OFF....that's not inspired...... Love the two Alex's, they make F2 even better!!!
has anyone bothered to count how many safety cars were on that weekend in total across f1,2 and 3? must be some sort of record. probably a record for cars wrecked on a weekend too?
The Supercars races were little better, just as chaotic, and with like 2 races where more than 50% of the race was run under Safety Car.
Ah yes the junior series. The only place you'll ever see a Williams (academy) 1-2
Albert Park low-key becoming deadly
More like drivers are getting more incompetent with wheel to wheel action.
@@orbit1894 motorsport has always had that problem. 21 years ago, it was Ralf Schumacher. This year, it’s Pierre Gasly.
A marshal was killed there in 2001 unfortunately
Or cars are getting knife edge to drive again. F1 seems to go through stages where the cars get a bit faster but easier to drive, and then ones where they get a lot faster but harder to drive.
Harder to drive is better for spectators, but does make drivers look silly when things go wrong.
This looks like a typical online f1 2022 race
hadjar's radio is like Yuki's on fentanyl
WOW might need to start watching these races 😂 but saying that, I'd rather just watch ur commentary on them 😂😂😂🙌🏻
I was actually there for the live races, and f3 was so stupidly filled with safety car after safety car it became a joke.
I just realised that Jenzer had a PHM Racing logo on it..
Only good thing to bring out of this races were the recovery of Josep Marti from 30th to 10th
Well... here's hoping the drivers keep it somewhat clean at Baku--
Oh who am I kidding... Baku is going to be an absolutely amazing mess!
imagine if they let f3 race there or jeddah
@@funnybunny1648 well they are racing at Monaco.
It's in four weeks, in all that time of not driving I'm sure the drivers can only get better.
Australian GP support races were a complete disaster
Supercars Championship also a supporting race: NOPE!!
First, nice whining about the start time. :-) As a West Coast Canadian, you can imagine I don't complain how I stay up for 90 per cent of races.
As for the F2 and F3 races, they were a blast.
It's not like F1 was clean, especially given they are not as green as these kids. A plurality of support races are usually gong shows anyway, too (bigger grids, lack of experience, cold tires, etc.).
The Albert Park race is now later than usual, so the weather was colder and saw that precipitation.
Ultimately, F2 and F3 are about separating the wheat from the chaff, and a race like this is an amplifier for that.
and v8 sc werent technically a support category on the gp??
I understand this is a new circuit for all of the F2/F3 drivers, but good lord the driving standards were worse than open lobbies.
I think I speak in behalf of everyone when i say: do F2 and F3 comedy reviews every race plz
Erm... "splatting a marshal over the side of a Pirelli advertising board" has happened at this circuit...
as a first time watcher of F2 and F3. it was brilliant. They are also insanely loud, compared to F1. I hope both series gains mre exposure and coverage. as the Cars look brilliant.
Martins and Hauger didn't take each other out, Martins took Hauger and himself out, causing Hauger to go from 3rd to dnf.
It's taken a few weeks to get to this video because I decided to go back and watch the entire F2 season. It was a good decision!
7:49 idk if im wrong but thats novalak in the gravel not stanek
Yes, but he was there at some point😅
There must a be something about the GP in OZ that brings out the idiots in all the drivers.
Maybe it's Jet lag..
Will, I honestly don't see much of a difference between the F2 & F3 races and what we saw from F1 in Australia. The whole weekend was a clusterfuck.
Cars going off like it was a special Olympics event. Safety cars and red flags galore. Simply awful? The rules changes and track changes need some serious rethinking.
invest in hadjar radio, itll never disappoint
