  • Mod list was too long WITH links so here's a viewable PDF to pretty much everything on this car. 2001 Mustang GT 4.6 2v
    u.pcloud.link/publink/show?co...
    - Ford 3.73 Gear + Rebuild Kit
    - Ford Performance TOB
    - Ford Performance Pilot Bearing
    - Ford Performance Clutch Fork Lever
    - Ford Performance PI Intake Manifold 1999-2004 Mustang GT
    - Ford "G" Lowering Springs (1.2" Drop All Around Apparently), I specifically got these since my car is a convertible.
    - Jeg's Aluminum Driveshaft 31 Spline
(I would recommend buying Ford Performance one, as it is a tiny bit cheaper, but it is usually out of stock. They are the exact same piece)
    - JLT Next Gen Cold Air Intake
(Seems like they no longer make these, the next best one is the RAM AIR INTAKE version, it's basically the same thing as the factory air intake system)
** If you're balling on a budget, just add a "high flow" filter in stock air box and call it a day). **
    C&L Plenum
-- Seems like these are discontinued. Best bet is buying a used one off eBay or Facebook Marketplace. Next best one for the price is the Trick Flow version.
    - BBK 70mm Throttle Body
    - BBK Catted H-Pipe for Long Tube Headers (1996-2004 Mustang GT)
    - BBK Ceramic Coated Long Tube Headers (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THE STOCK STUDS ON AS MANY SPOTS AS YOU CAN)
    - AEM X Series Wideband (30-0300)
    - Mickey Thompson ET Street R Radials (275/40/17 on a 17x9 SVE Bullitt Wheel)
    - 17x9 SVE Bullitt Wheel Anthracite 94-04 Mustang (Yes, color is not exactly the same as the factory Bullitt wheels but it's extremely close so it looks good enough)
    - Steeda Underdrive Pulleys (96-Mid 2001 Mustang GT)
    - Steeda Tri-Ax Short Throw Shifter (T5/T45) 1983-2001 Mustang GT
    - Motorcraft PW-423 Waterpump (Long Style) Early to Mid Models
    - Motorcraft SP-493 Spark Plugs (FOR 1979-2004 MUSTANG GT)
    - Motorcraft DG-508 Coil Pack (FOR 1999-2004 MUSTANG GT)
    - Motorcraft Fuel Filter FG-1114 1998-2004 MUSTANG GT
    - Carquest 180 Degree Thermostat from Advance Auto Parts (I believe I bought the thermostat gasket seal from eBay for like $3 but you could try finding one locally or reuse the one that came on your car)
    - Mahle MS19535 Exhaust Manifold (Header) Gaskets for 1996-2004 MUSTANG GT
    - Flowmaster Original 40 Series 2.5" Mufflers
    - Maximum Motorsports Full Length Subframe Connectors (1979-2004 Mustang GT)
    - Maximum Motorsport HEAVY DUTY Rear Lower Control Arms Poly (1999-2004 Mustang GT)
    - Maximum Motorsport 82-04 Mustang Clutch Cable, Quadrant, And Firewall Adjuster Kit (sold out but was told to not run a crap aftermarket adjustable cable)
    - Tune = SCT X4 7015 Tuner and Custom Street Tune/Calibration via Marty Ochs, who can be contacted via Facebook or Website. He can also send you an email tune upon request.
    - Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump Module Assembly (TU229HP-2) for Early AND LATE 2001-2004 Mustang GT
    - Pennzoil Syncromesh Manual Transmission Fluid (The absolute best oil you can put into your Ford transmission, GM sells a good one too if you can't find this one in stock). Only AutoZone seems to sell this one though, in limited quantities.
    - MGW Cylindrical Gripper Knob
    - Spec Stage 2 Clutch 10.5" 10 Spline 86-Mid Mustang GT)
**I'm using the stock steel flywheel, Aluminum won't make you go any faster unless you are a full blown race car. Steel flywheel is much more forgiving on the street and is actually better for hard launches too**
    - KMJ 200 Amp Alternator 99-04 Mustang GT (I highly recommend this unit for maximum reliability)
    - Dorman Spark Non-Foulers 18mm 42009 (Only 1 pack is needed)
    - NTK 22500 DOWNSTREAM (after cats) Oxygen Sensors (1991-2010 MUSTANG GT)
    - NTK 22060 UPSTREAM (before cat) Oxygen Sensors (1991-2010 MUSTANG GT)
*You can buy these on eBay with FREE SHIPPING just by searching the same part numbers, avoid the shipping free on RockAuto!**
Engine Oil I Recommend for MOST 4.6 Applications (Built or Stock)
    - 4.6 Motors take 6 Quarts!!!
    - 4.6 Motors were Engineered to use 5w-30, 5w-20 is just for "better gas mileage" reasons due to CAFE standards or something like that.
The Oil I Ran for Many Years & Still Do
    = Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5w-30 5 Quarts
A step up I’d recommend if you have extra $$$
    - Pennzoil ULTRA Platinum Full Synthetic 5w-30 5 Quarts (even Pennzoil Platinum is fine for $10 less).
Any Motorcraft Oil Filter will be just fine. They are cheap and good quality. I used Purolator ONEs (the purple oil filters) for many years.
    Songs Used in Order:
    - Men I Trust - Norton Commander Instrumental
    - Crush Project - Only Child
    - Postal 2 - Hospital Lab Music
    - SilverHoof - For Sexy
    - PlayStation 4 System Music - Home Menu
    - B.o.B - Nothin' On You (Instrumental)
    - Pool Nation - Lounge Trio
    - Playstation Home Mall Theme
    - Riddiman - Sorry (Lofi Hip Hop Beat)
    - Among the Sleep Soundtrack 24 - After

ONE REALLY IMPORTANT THING I FORGOT TO MENTION! The heater hose that goes to the back of the intake manifold is quite problematic with either popping off during random WOT pulls and throwing coolant everywhere or developing pin holes and leaking coolant everywhere.
Motorcraft KN88 is what you need if you replace it, which I HIGHLY recommend. Motorcraft KH88 Heater Hose, $35 on Amazon.
    www.amazon.com/dp/B000C5BS1S
Also, that little clamp that thing come on the hose is pretty much fake and serves no real purpose… You need to add a small hose clamp (like a REAL one) down to where the hose slides to the nipple of the back of the intake manifold. I’ve literally had this hose shoot coolant everywhere when I’m street racing, it’s REALLY scary. Nobody ever tells you this…
Please follow these instructions above for maximum reliability/safety!

Informative video and you are very knowledgeable. I completely agree with just about everything you said.
It’s good to see young people that are into cars and are doing a lot of their own work.
I just found your channel today. Great vid!
Also, one of the best sounding two valves I’ve ever heard!

Cool and informative video. 7 yrs. ago, I saved an '03 5 spd. manual convert from going to our wholesale lot. It was as they say, "rode hard and put away wet". Bought it for the trade in price of $1460.00 and limped it home. I've had a ton of fun bringing it back. Max mtr. stage 3 suspension (sub frame connectors,) strut tower brace, cast/camper plates, big brakes/ front/rear roll bars, slight up grade to 3:31's, Exede stage 3 clutch kit, Steeda quadrant/shifter, & lightened flywheel. Now I'm at a point where I want it to breathe better & staying quiet, without doing headers. Will a catted X-pipe and better mufflers be worth it? Thought please. Thaks, Bob

Hey man sounds like a fun project. Glad you're keeping the vert lifestyle alive!
A catted x/h pipe on a stock catback would make a notable difference, 4 factory cats compared to 2 aftermarket ones breaths better while sounding a tiny bit louder. I recommend it.
Mufflers by themselves on stock 2.25" catback would still make a difference no doubt. I drove this car 100% stock other than Flowmaster 40s welded to stock catback for years, sounded great & made a big audible difference compared to stock mufflers. Was never too loud, but sounded perfect.
I know a guy with cams, 2.5" exhaust, headers, catless x pipe who runs Borla Pro XS mufflers on his 2v and the car is super quiet. I see a lot of people recommending this muffler for quiet car setups while maintaining the best flow. You probably won't gain much power with aftermarket mufflers but you'll have the "theatre" to go along with it : )
Opening up the exhaust is the best thing you can do on these cars, especially the mid-pipes. Cars get louder when opening up the exhaust, a Borla Pro XS or something similar is a good choice for staying quiet in the process. Hope this helps.

Bigger TB and an Edelbrock intake will get you an extra 15-20 whp. Port/deck the heads and throw in some E85 you’ll hit 340-350whp. After that gut the car out. These cars can get down to 2700 pounds while still staying street legal.

The best secret I've found for these is trick flow twisted wedge heads, as they give the car cleveland-like valve geometry, allowing for far better high end performance!

Ford charged me $100 for my LCA bolts, I had to cut almost all of them… They definitely are a worthwhile mod…Suspension mods are my favorite..

Hey bro I've got a 01 GT 4.6 2 valve PI engine. It's a automatic. I bought shorty headers cold air unit and I'm getting a hand held tuner. What type of cam would I need to get the power and the lope of the engine I've also put a new cat back performance exhaust. Any advise I appreciate. Thanks

there is a ford tsb where it says only convension transmission fluid in the tr3650, i put mercon iii in mine and it feels way better than penzoil syncromesh

    • @McLovinsFunhouse
      @McLovinsFunhouse  2 місяці тому +1

Yeah I don't know what to believe anymore lol. I know multiple transmission builders that swear by Pennzoil Synchromesh.... other folks online say no no that stuff sucks and try something else like GM Synchromesh or different with much better luck....
I've always wanted to try something else just to see what the difference is but I've gotten so comfortable with the way both my TR3650 and T45 shift that I just left it haha.

Drain out the transmission fluid and add GM synchronism. You'll thank me later. It's night and day.

I love Cars, but theres a Sport CAR That i like and its from Toyota, MK2 Supra, If that Supra was Modded Engine Swapped with Twin Turbos exhausts system it can take on Angels Mustang GT.

Sounds expensive lol. People make the idea of making big power on cars sound so easy, when in fact it’s not, especially when you do it all yourself.
