    For the Røde microphone being around 25% more expensive where i live, and having pretty much the same sound quality when it comes to speaking i would actually rather have the HyperX, mainly because of the easy accessible mute button on it, and also because it is less bulky. What do you guys think? :/

    Nice comparison! Though the HyperX was in bidirectional mode, which I wouldn't _normally_ recommend for most voice recordings (especially with noisy computers and keyboards).
    The increased noise from the HyperX is probably coming from the LED illumination inside the microphone. The diodes are essentially "spewing" out electrons that are affecting the circuitry (or even the capsule itself)!
    Overall: the Hyperx did far better than I would have expected! Still, my money is on the RODE.
    The RODE looks sleeker, offers a better build quality (barring the mount), and sounds really great on most voices!
    While the Rode might seem "duller" due to the smaller emphasis in its high frequencies, this is ultimately a positive thing for a couple different demographics! Namely: *Long Form Content.*
    Under 10 or so minutes, a "bright" recording is pleasing! But it doesn't take much longer for sibilance ("ess" sounds) to cause "listener fatigue."

I´m a noob, and I would like make tutorials and sometimes speak to the camera. ❓ My question is: Which is the better distance for speak with definining in both mics? which is the best for speak at 30 or 35 cm? Any recomendation? Thank you so much for your reply!!

    • @micandcampro
      @micandcampro  3 роки тому +2

      Good morning to you, too! I think i would go with the hyperX, because it simply sounds more open and clear. Good for tutorials and stuff like that. The NTUSB has a warmer tone, which can be benificial if you for example read long texts like audio books. Basically you can fiddle with an Equalizer afterwards and tune the sound to your likings, but out of the box, the Quadcast would be my chioce.

    • @micandcampro
      @micandcampro  Рік тому

      If you try to filter it out by some kind of plugin, most of the time you'll be out of luck. A typical plugin would be a noise gate. That turns down your mic, as long the noise is below a certain level. If you start talking, the threshold will be hit and the noise gate opens up your mic. At this point every sound, including your keyboard, will again get into the recording. No propper way around. The only way to keep that stuff out of your recording is first: quiet hardware (try silent linear mechanical switches or rubberdome switches) and secondly a dynamic mic with the level turned way down and the mic close to your mouth.

    • @Reconbeatz509
      @Reconbeatz509 Рік тому +1

      @Mic And Cam ya thats the weird part about my mic. I have it on cardioid and on a boom arm right near my mouth and it's turned down with the gain and it still picks up my keyboard I even went to my quieter keyboard. I put a shielding around the mic backside and it seems to help but still can pick it up. But it's not as bad or noticeable now. I'm just trying to get the best quality I can do for a video

      @@TodayBillionaire sorry, i dont understand what you mean, rode nt usb is just cardioid usb mic .. and for me which only use it for singing and gaming, i dont need another polar patterns like hyperx quadcast which has 4 polar patterns ..
      i think the background noise in rode nt usb is barely visible, just set the input mic around 50-70% in windows sound settings and the output will be clean .. but if you dont want have any background noise, you can just make your room have a nice accoustic treatment or maybe you can buy elgato wave 3 which has a solid software , you can search in YT about it , elgato (24-bit) has more resolution than rode NT USB (16-bit).. i bought this rode nt usb long before the elgato released , if i have to choose which one i should buy , i will go for elgato wave 3. but if the other option is hyperx quadcasrt , i will definitely go for rode nt usb .
