DESCRIPTION
“Stairway To Heaven” is one of the most legendary songs to ever be created. I know it´s also one of the most overplayed songs, but I love so much that I wanted to do my own interpretation of it.
I am using two of my inventions: the first is the add-on neck you see since the beginning. The name of it is “Reversed Slide Neck”, and as the name suggests it´s a neck that has an opposite direction compared regular necks and features a slide, mounted on binaries. The RSN has another interesting particularity: it is an add-on neck, which can be attached and removed from your guitar in just a few seconds. Briefly about it, it was invented by me and turned into reality by Davide Serracini. We are planning to sell it to whoever is interested, but to do so we would first need to reach a reasonable number of orders. Feel free to email me at info@lucastricagnoli.com to know more.
The second invention I use in the video is the Soprano Guitar, a guitar played horizontally and equipped with high pitched strings tuned in scale that I used many other times in my videos. In this arrangement, I use it only to play the solo.

From a Flamenco guitarist since 1965 I find this artist beyond words to show excellence.
From the forced harmonics in the beginning, to the slide taking the vocal melody line, all the hammer-ons pull-offs behind it with one hand, and then the solo on a second acoustic with THREE CAPOS! Freaking genius!
Just the fact that he actually has a clip on neck with a built in slide "thing" (because I have no idea what to call that contraption) shows a bit of genius
plus playing the percussion at times!

I recently read a science fiction story with that premise, except it was with piano. One personality controlled most of the body and the language center, and one controlled the left arm and leg and was psychic.

The only one who actually got it right with all the variations that this songs requires for live playing, and yet making still sense with its own instrumentation!
Having played guitar for many years watching this makes me feel a bit like I did when I trained every night for weeks to do a half marathon and then on the big day a woman pushing a pram overtook me.
SAME! I trained and trained. A woman with one leg, the other in one of those bouncy, spatula prosthesis overtook me and my only thought was to finish within eyesight of her. She remains my unnamed heroine.

Its madness, due the pickup being at the "top" of the neck. One part of his instrument he moves his hand "up" the neck for lower notes and on another part of the instrument, he moves his hand "down" for the low notes. This is a man who can walk and chew bubblegum at the same time.

Man, Luca's skill is undeniable, but the best part is that he focuses on making beautiful music instead of merely showing off his "skills."

I mean, the simple fact that he's playing this is already a pretty big brag. So many moving parts.
Sounds good, but in reality is that he does focus on showing off with beautiful music. There is literally no need at all for this music to be played in one go, he could (and most likely is) recording each part individually, but he is a performer. So he gives us this awesome performance of playing all parts simultaneously just like Steve Vai does with his Teeth of the Hydra.
It just is a much better performance if the music is actually beautiful arranged and just beautiful in general.

I totally agree, to even fathom the depth of the composition itself then technically translate it onto multiple instruments at the same time.

I don't know what a stairway to heaven would look like if it existed, but if instrumental music were a stairway to heaven, then Luca Stricagnoli's near angelic skill with a guitar would certainly be that musical conduit to the celestial realm.
