The "Forbidden Riff" (the intro guitar riff of "Stairway to Heaven") was the the first thing I ever learned when got my first guitar, so writing a solo guitar arrangement of this really brought me full circle. It was such a journey diggin' into this song's riffs, vocal melodies, bass lines, chord progression variations, voicings, and of course... the most epic guitar solo ever recorded! I always read this kind of phrase that says "stairway to heaven not allowed to be played in music store".

@@benaplokcampandgo I think that its more to do with the huge number of times someone would want to check out a guitar, and then try to play the first bit. Over and over all day this would go on at a store. The clincher is that it was usually a really bad effort, probably since a beginner would be most likely to have been shown how it was supposed to work, but couldn't quite get it. Imagine being a guitar store employee and having to hear that all shift. Even when it was played well it would have been so repetitive to a worker. Example of a great song that the radio stations ruined for some by playing it all the time as well.

You have a gift of making the vocal melodies sound very natural and not rushed. Often times I hear folks attempt to do this while playing their own rhythm and the melody comes out as stuttered, hurried, and/or mechanical. You sound like two people…it’s really amazing to witness.

Next week is my 70th birthday and I have loved this song since the first time I heard it so many years ago. But never played so beautifully acoustically. It will be my birthday tune to start my seventh decade 😉 . Thanks for all the talent and beautiful music you share with all. You are a very special, talented individual.

Amazing my Brother. I'm 53 and a Combat Veteran who doesn't hear well anymore, but what is completely unexpected is I used to listen to Hard Rock and Classic Rock as a teenager all the time, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Boston, Bob Segar, Sammy Hagar, RUSH, AC⚡DC, and the Eagles and the list goes on and on but as I have gotten older I hear the real Beauty of the Instruments and not so much of the Vocals anymore. You are VERY VERY Talented and you've Killed It to get this Great. Hell of a Job Brother. God Bless You.....

I'm also 53, had 2 uncles and 2 uncle in laws serve in US 🇺🇸 Army, so I just grew up with respect for military. I grew up with same music as you, lost some of my hearing in my right ear due to black mold destroying my eardrum but still belt out tunes because I love to sing and even though I cannot play instruments anymore due to lupus, RA, diabetes/neuropathy, and fibromyalgia I still love the sounds they make when others who are gifted play.
How..do..56 yrs here...this was great and I play..Justin plays slow music..it's excellent. I was deployed as a Jet Engine Mechanic..Desert Shield/ Storm..sat in with bands over there..

@@briansignorelli7090 Just a tip. You can say Lord like normal when referencing Christ. In the Old Testament that's why the word Lord was used. As a way to avoid violating the commandments of using his name in vain.
That's why you can say Good Lord instead of the classic "O my God".

I've been a fan of Led Zep since I first heard one of their songs as a kid in the 70's. That was even better. I never thought I would say that...
This was the song that let me really grok what "taking chords apart and putting them back together" really means. Love the way Justin can get the melody, lead guitar, bass, and sometimes percussion out of one instrument.

I've played this song for over forty years. Hat's off to the master.
There are people who have tried to do this with machines to do it for them and like its skill. But none of these "midi packs" cannot replicate anything like this. This is what music is, this is what musical skills look like. This is a beautiful performance that out beats any machine there is out there and always will. He is leaps and bounds above any guitar player I’ve seen in the past few years. I’ve been around many years and I’m thankful I’ve made it long enough to see this prodigy. His style is slicker than owl shit. I hope he gets wealthy without going through the big commercial jungle.

I've never seen anyone play a electric guitar solo in finger style manner with so much beauty and efficiency. Fuking awesome!
The part i struggle with the most is hearing in my head what i want to play. I can stare at frets and strings and try and be accurate, but i would give anything to have the bridge between brain and body he's built (or maybe just has naturally). Anything I do that sounds half way decent feels like a struggle for me. I know, practice, practice... but i honestly feel like its not just that - some people have a natural flow they dont have to struggle for and it all starts in the head with hearing and seeing the notes you want to play. Im not jealous, im just appropriately impressed and happy when i hear someone so good and seamless. Keep on making it, i'll keep listening.

Although considered a classic, we all know it’s an overplayed song. With that said, I literally cannot get enough of this version of it and listen to it at least once a day, usually more.
There is so much to be heard and seen from every finger doing it’s own thing. The ambidextrous abilities needed to do everything he’s doing with each finger blows my mind.
