Looking forward to seeing more of this! I'd thought it was just gonna be one of your copy and paste, run of the mill survival games, but it looks like it's got something going for it!
I didn't know I liked survival games until I started watching you at 7d2d A14. This looks like it has great potential and it looks fun. Doesn't matter whether I'd play the game or not. Your videos are entertaining and I enjoy watching because you are playing your way and are obviously having fun, which makes for good content. You explain, complain @ the devs and explore it's all fun to watch... keep it up!!!!
I assume the aggressive skunk is a game mechanic, though honey badgers are related to skunks so it is possible the ones you'd meet on a tropical island would be aggressive, if they're higher up on the food chain on the island. Also, it takes time for a snake to produce venom so, if a snake has used its load of venom on a previous victim or two, the amount of venom in their bite might not be enough to harm a human, but that's a lot of ifs. Mostly, it's just another game-style mechanic to make the game more random. However, this game looks really interesting so I'm going to try this one. I was always interested in the Ponce to Leon expeditions. Thank you for letting us know the game is an open beta.

That is more of a honey badger than a skunk, however they are in the same family, so they probably went with the easy name.

You know I've watched others play this game and other games. The thing I like about your vids is you don't completely bumble fuck around, never read or try to figure stuff out, and just stumble around. That shit makes me nuts.
Yeah, you don't learn everything before you play a game but you kinda get a grasp first and you do the tutes.

This game certainly has some stranded deep vibes however this game is much better in my opinion.
yes yes please do more im also currently playing this and i find that the levels drain way fast and crafting even with speeding it up the duration seem to be off idk maybe just me but i am stuck on how to craft the wooden spear would love to see how you do it .. thank you please keep playing :D

Just a speculation since I'm not playing but I assume skipping increases your chance of getting hurt and stamina consumption a tiny bit resulting in needing to sleep more plus if you don't use it then you can do more during the day without getting burned
My neighborhood is lousy with skunks and they neither look nor act like that. I believe those should be badgers. They're nasty critters.
Oh, by the way, thank you for opening and trying a game first so you can learn the controls. I know some people like watching it when the player has no knowledge but I find that annoying. Especially when they spend like twenty minutes trying to figure out the walk or pick up command. You don't do that and I thank you for that!

I played this yesterday. A few graphical issues but solid game.

looks good, got onto beta test straight away, i don't get all notifications for vids on youtube despite having all the settings, notifications on youtube are a crap shoot. yes i have checked all settings quite a few times and am set for all notifications but still don't get them all

You can swim, and there's some useful stuff right where you start the game.
Looks like a very well thought out game. I think they spelt 'Honey Badger' wrong though
The "only picking two things" element at the start is both cool and annoying. Cool cause it allows for changing starting conditions. Annoying because some of the things could easily be picked up even with other things. Example. Why would coat, backpack, and tool restrict each other.
Anyway, this is cool and I think has potential and I look forward to seeing more.
Some reason when I tried the game I was allowed to take 3 things.
Here is how I remember whats what on a ship: The Bow of a ship is the Front (like a person taking a bow), The Stern of the ship is the back (like you go back to steer the ship), And on the east coast you park your ship facing North, the dock (PORT side ) is on your Left and the ocean where you see the stars are seen is on the right (Starboard side).
As a ginger with fish-belly white skin, the idea of a sunburn simulator is less than appealing :P

Just tried it, like it. It's hard trying to hit animals, gauging the distance and when to swing.
The weapons degrading is too quick.
Otherwise it is fun and I'm looking forward to seeing what is added and changed.

grotto is pronounced groh-ttoh in italian, with hard Ts, and comes probably from gotta, that just means cave, and grotto is moslty used for places built inside huge caves, like wine cellars, bars, etc
could you not take the backpack, equip it then take the rest? or is it not able to be looted a 2nd time?

Spotted Skunk, look nothing like what the game portrays them, nor do they act like what the game portrays them to be. They don’t attack, they stomp their feet, they spray, they run, you won’t see them out during the day because they’re nocturnal.

29:00 Getting Scurvy from lack of fruit is a myth (It was probably the combo of too much alcohol and salt), I haven't eaten any fruit or vegetables for over 30 years and never had scurvy! When I was 10, the doctors said I wouldn't make it passed 12; I proved them wrong: just turned 45 on the 28th.
Scurvy is a lack of Vitamin C. Citrus fruits have a lot of it, but a lot of other things do too (including meat).
Kage, just a thought and I could be wrong. From what I've seen of this game so far because in a lot of games you like to sprint/run a lot because your usually in a hurry (I'm guessing because UA-cam content?) that your probably going to have a lot of stamina issues in this game unfortunately. But more positive note I agree the game looks really iand interesting! If you play more episodes I for sure will be watching!
@@gavinpowell4607 how exactly am I complaining lol. All I stated was Kage "might" have an issue with stamina and that I "could be wrong". And btw Kage does like to sprint/run a lot in games (and I again could be wrong) but I believe it's because he's trying to get as much done in a short amount of time for UA-cam viewers not because he likes rushing a game. It's not a complaint it's just my observation and opinion. Finally as you stated to another commenter " It's just another stranded on a beach game" well even if it is so what? If it's fun and continues to improve that fine for me and others who like this sort of game. If you or others don't like it, then don't watch or play it and move on to games you do enjoy. Your one of the ones complaining lol.

I lost three spears and an axe (yeah spear is best) that disappear into the ground after throwing also some stuff I harvested or hunted disappear into the ground ... dont throw your spear it might go poof....yeah spotted skunks do the same thing as striped skunks get in i'm gonna spray ya I'm gonna spray ya front paw hand stand and if you dont bugger off they spray ya

Looks interesting. Not sure I'd be happy with their timing of events; 20 minutes to prepare a coconut and 40 mins to harvest a small bush for 2 sticks. Decisions like that put me off.

Skunks can be very aggressive. Normally though they will like stomp the ground with their front feet and growl and make a barking sound prior to spraying you. They can also carry Rabies and those that so called "tame" Skunks have to be very careful due to their weird temperament. What I mean is they could know you for 2 years with no problems. They let you pet them hell they would even sleep beside you in your bed if you give them enough attention from birth and I mean ALLOT of attention.
First three months you literally keep him very close to you everywhere and the 1st month you would even carry it everywhere and depending on generation of being indoors etc. etc. they would act like a little dog BUT like any animal they have a natural Hierarchy where like any animal *this one being worse due to it will never be 100% tamed unlike a Dog that has been generations bred by humans. fed by humans, and through a great amount of time they have the Wild tamed out of them due to dulling their natural instinct to perform as if never being around humans.
It's that long span of time that almost creates new instincts with you now included within the Hierarchy. like any Animal (skunks being worse than actual domesticated pets) they all want to know the pecking order so to speak so it's best to address that while they are young but you have to know what you are doing and proceed carefully as they cab spray at a VERY, VERY young age.
If you have never been around a person who's been sprayed trust me you'll take that to heart. This portion take word for word--- once sprayed the "Tomato sauce" remedy is B.S. as it's the acidity but it doesn't damper the smell but by maybe 5% to 10% if your lucky you have to literally wear it off with time which takes quite some time even with taking numerous showers a day scrubbing with a brush. You won't believe this but once sprayed people can literally start to smell a fairly freshly sprayed person up to a Mile away and yes I said MILE.
I hope that answered your questions sorry so long it's just one of those weird subject's.
What's my experience you might ask? Most won't like the answer but I grew up very poor and me and my father ran Trap Lines to skin and sell the pelts. 110-120 killer traps, 04-06-08 leg traps, drowning snares, live traps. I've killed everything that walks on 4 legs at least once (within the east side of America). I've hunted damn near everything even killed a Wolverine with a Bow while on a big hunting trip up north with my extended Family uncles, Grandfather etc.(I was using a Bow as I was hunting Deer out of season so had to be quiet.
For anyone about to complain about that your stomach doesn't have "seasons" and Hunger is an everyday problem. We never killed anything or Fished anything we didn't eat never and that's including the Wolverine (I wouldn't of killed it If I knew that's what it was) but I was young and my dumbass thought it was a very young Bear smh. It just made sounds coming toward my stand like something totally pissed off growling, snarling, just making noises that even went down my spine and I'm not scared of any Animal. Later I found out that's what they sound like just freaking walking around allot of times and can kill a Deer with ease just as easy as I could with a Gun.
My dad was mad but we took it and ate it. For all those activists or "woke" people about to lose their minds by now I quit hunting and even fishing once I moved out on my own and never picked up a gun/Bow/rod/trap again and the animals I dispatched literally haunt me even today because once you don't have to do it then your emotions kick in. I've killed probably (as hard as it is to believe) but probably in the Thousands at least even fired my first Shotgun at 9 years old.
I wish I had never touched any of those devices. Would I do it again? I wouldn't even hesitate to do it a hundred times over because it was a had too not want too and no my father never forced me but I went because I had responsibility for my family as well due to me being a Male and it's just what some family's do to survive and if I had a family of my own and they were hungry It wouldn't take but a second for me to be in waders walking up Creeks in the winter checking the Traps.

Game lost me when sunburn being serious problem after just three clicks for stick looting. That is just ridiculous.
You can't go into the edge of a jungle and expect to find everything. Venture in and find the vines.

Lol you are like an old man need 3-4 naps a day. Like the game though it makes a good addition to be in the series line. The graphics are good lots to do it seems. Guess we will see wish it didn't take hours to do something and wish we actually did it instead of watching a timer screen. Oh and No skunks run away they spray you with stink have to take a long bath to get rid of it but they don't attack.

I'm on 19 hours, when following the story line, I wouldn't recommend the raft as it is currently.

The only issue I have is the extremely overexagerated amount of time it takes to harvest stuff or start a fire. There is no way a dude from the 1600s would need over 2 years to start a fire.
