    Hi, for portraits and fashion runways is the autofocus of the a7iv more than enough for the task???

    Great video! How would you compare the auto focus between these two cameras? Specifically the eye auto focus.

      Eye AF is faster and more accurate on the a7CR. I’m looking forward to the a7V which I bet will be awesome.

    great review.
    Video wise the rolling shutter is worse on the A7CR vs the A7Cii I found in the store. video seems better on A7Cii. colours are different too. But a7CR colours pop more which is nice.

    makes sense, the one thing I would like to see is in camera pixel shift, generating an AWR that can then be edited in PS or LR. I believe the D850 done this. I get the weight issue though.

    Thanks Jared for you input on your new A7CR ! Can you please tell us what's the ISO on the photo at 03:27 ? I just sold my Fuji gear and i'm having a hard tme choosing a full frame system, either Canon or Sony. The noise is the reason why since i shoot a lot at night...

    I own the Sony a7IV and am waiting for the a7V and hope that it will have the brilliant display of the 7R5 and a better viewfinder. I think the a7IV is a very compact camera and it doesn't seem intrusive in combination with my GM lenses. The CR just looks really cool, but you won't get that much more compact with a GM lens (a little bit), it's best to always use a small lens on this camera. Then you really have a daily advantage with a CR.

      Lots of new small options for lenses. Can’t go wrong with either. I do expect the a75 to cost around $3k and still not have a R resolution sensor

    I also originally picked up an A7CR to replace my A7C and A7IV but I also have an A1 and A7RV which I plan to keep. One question I’ve had though is if the A7CII is better in low light. I’m basing that n how the A7IV compares to the A7RV. What are your thoughts here? Thank you for the video. Take care.

    • @ditchauto
      @ditchauto  6 місяців тому

      Perhaps in certain situations. Lower resolution favors low light performance but those extra stops of stability could cancel that out.

    I just want to add that the A7CR has the new touch screen which you can control: record video, drive mode, focus area, white balance, creative look, recognition target, touch func in shooting. If you have any of these mapped to a button previously or in Fn menu, you can potential free up those buttons / Fn for other actions if you don't mind pressing them from the touch screen. Realistically, it would be 1-2 buttons extra most notably the record video button and drive mode, and then up to 6 extra Fn menu settings.

      True and this is new only in the new c cameras. Not in the a7rv

    Probably a smart idea as a year from now the A7 V will be out I am sure. For me, I love it and bought to use for the next 10 years.

    Not sure what you mean by you may not pick the a7cr if it was your main camera… most people just have one camera and most people don’t create videos with their mirrorless cameras.

      Haha, its been a long time since I have done a video like this. I recognize that being a camera reviewer changes my buying patterns, but I felt that this situation warranted it. I have owned two of these cameras since they released and the only reason I made this video was to help people decide that the Sony a7IV is likely the best camera option for them.

    i have the A7IV and was about to purchase the A7CR this past Christmas but Sony had the trade in sale on the A7RV which allows me to purchase it brand new for less than $2600 an opportunity I cannot resist. Most likely I will sale my A7IV at the end of this year and purchase the A7CR when it goes on sale. Your decision helped my decision as I was contemplating if I should make the same trade. Thank you!

      If you are hiking 140 does make a difference over the course 4+hrs. that why travel carbon Viber tripods get so expensive just to save 100-200grams.

    I like things to be compact and thrill when they have a compact lineup but think about it rationally it's not there yet and think people get it not for the compact size but for the lighter weight, if you think about it, it's not much smaller, it's just cut off with the protruding EVF and now you get worser EVF and things, people still going to notice you have a camera and just you as the user psychologically feel you have a smaller stuffs in hand hence you are more stealthy but in actuality you are not. I think better if they come up with a A7L which stand for lighter body and put the hot shoes on the left empty top flat top so the mic won't be standing up so tall on the EVF or better yet have 2 hotshoes on the top so you can swap the detachable EVF left or center and another one can use for other accessories!

    did you have overheating issues with the A7IV?

    • @ditchauto
      @ditchauto  5 місяців тому +1

      No issues. The hottest I have had it shooting outside was the mid 90s. It held up fine. I was not in direct sunlight.

  • @cameraprepper7938

    I like the design of the Sony A7RC with the EVF in the corner very much, but I do not like the small size of the EVF and the low resolution of the EVF, also I do not like the lack of a joystick, I neither like the fully articulating screen which makes he camera thicker. I will keep mine Sony A7RIV and Sony A7RIVA Cameras for now. Right now the Sony A7RIVA and the Sony A7RV is cheaper than the A7RC !

    • @ditchauto
      @ditchauto  6 місяців тому +1

      I definitely wish that the EVF was higher resolution and a little bit easier to use but then we’d be talking about the a7RV.

    Wait the A7V to get latest processing power or AI 😄😁 that A7Cii has.. . if u live the body of A7IV u need to wait for a years but for me its fine if the A7Cii compact has latest technology like the A7RV.

    lol the single card slot itself is a deal breaker especially for professionals. You obviously don't shoot professionally or enjoy the risk of losing footage.
