Steve Ferrone is one of the finest drummers that most people have never heard of but his career spans back to the late '70's. And NO youngsters Steve is NOT using a double bass pedal on this, his right foot is good enough to NOT need one. Eat your heart out kiddies, this is what REAL drumming talent is all about
+Steve Hammond I live in Brighton in the same apartment block that Steve grew up in, he's a great drummer and his career goes back to 1975 but he was playing way back in 1962 when he opened a show for the Who! How many 12yr old kids can boast that?! Steve is the most down to earth person I know, a great guy and a great drummer! :)
Steve Ferrone is a monster musician. I loved his playing from as far back as AWB. Great hand & foot combinations here in this solo. The man cooks the groove, and that's what a drummer in a band is all about!
I never heard any of the tom petty stuff that Ferrone plays on I became a fan right away of his when I heard cut the cake This guy is great.I bought every Awb album because to hear his drumming. Then he did the Chaka Khan albums but Naughty album really show cases his work particularly the song'Clouds"..wooo
I love his work with Clapton in 90´s ,he is my favortite clapton´s drummer ever . Steve Gadd is one of the best around but Ferrone was the drummer for Clapton.
yes of course steve ferrone os a master of it. He's very cool because he signed autographs to me ;) it is very close to the public, he remained humble even after the celebrity
this is one of my favorite songs ever....but that drum solo has got to be the best drum solo ever done by any man on the face of this planet, no one can even come close to what that man (steve) has just played..............................
@Adrastos C spoken like a true fan, but let’s not be naive when talking about greatest drum solos ever. There is a list of living legends behind the kit who define modern drumming: Dennis Chambers, Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colaiuta, Billy Cobham etc… Taking nothing away from the great Steve Ferrone
Yes it is..Not used often, but definitely is..It's also a type of wheat in Europe.. Look it up in the freedictionary site.. Now that the grammar lessons are out of the way, let's just enjoy the solo, shall we ?
Steve glad can eat his heart liver n his kidneys out. And to think this isn't even close to his best ONLY Bohnamn can sit with him BUT You Wanna hear one better go to AWB LIVE album (Cloudy) n listen to his solo in "pick up the pieces"
dazlebon who are you? I have toured with Duran 86 to87, never heard of you before. I know those great guys very well having done around 60 t.v shows for promoting the notorious record. ferrones drumming is the tastiest
RI drummer 96 Yes, he uses it a lot RRll RRll RRll ..... Rights are on the 1e a2 and a e and 4e etc etc all ll's on the snare. He uses it again at the end between cymbals and snare
Clue Kid . I have been in the presence of greatness having filled in for Steve back in the mid 80s with Duran Duran, he is the most humble musician I have known and for you youngsters out there ,Steve can play anything and his unique style of drumming should be studied by all players . this is drummer Jerry Cuccurullo, punch in Duran Duran 87 Italy fantastic t.v, I am playing Steve drumming verbatum,a great challenge to get his grooves down!!!

pocket - all that matters. Learned a lot from his playing, and still do.
Steve Hammond, do you hate young drummers? Cause I know not all young drummers have soulless playing.
Late '70's? In '74 he did outstanding work in Brian Auger's Oblivion Express on their Live At The Whiskey albums (Vol 1 and Vol 2).

It’s common in British English to put -t, instead of -ed, as in spelt, spoilt, wept, bent, etc.
