My husband still has toys from his childhood very much played with but some are still in original boxes. My favorite thing to tell people is that he still has his marbles.
Dear Dr. Lori, Your Sunday afternoon Premiere videos are outstanding. Thank you, too, to the countless clients that have allowed you to share their stories of "good fortune" with your subscribers enabling all of us to share in your expertise. I wish you continued good blessings!!!
You are so sweet! Don't forget to share so others can enjoy!
When Goodwill puts the sticker on the bottom they always cover the marks. They are talented in picking the wrong spot.
Dr. Lori is the VOICE INSIDE MY HEAD, while I'm sourcing! 😂🤗😊
Yes! I agree about the thrift store and those stickers! I get so mad when they do that! Also, when they use packing tape to keep items together in sets! I've had paint stripped off items before and it is infuriating to say the least! I just found you and have been watching your videos nonstop. I am learning a lot, thank you!
Welcome! Happy to hear you are learning! Join us on Sundays at 5 pm eastern for a new video and live chat!

Dr. Lori, I'm a new reseller and I can't tell you how much you have taught me about the Vintage business. Thank you for your superb gift of teaching and your willingness to share your knowledge. Bless you!
I've helped a lot of resellers make money. I'm happy to help you too :) Thanks for watching.

WD-40 is great for getting adhesive off. Our local goodwill's use a wax pencil to write their prices on. WD-40 works for that too! I have an estate sale company, and I make sure to use easily removable labels or hang tags on delicate items. My best thrift store find so far was an Oika Toikka bird that I purchased for $3. This last week I bought 2 Selkirk Glass Paperweights for 25 cents each!
There are some great bargains out there. Make sure you know what they really sell for. People are telling me that they are selling their finds at or above my appraised values! Be care with the WD-40 :)
Dr Lori never gets old !
She is an amazing historian, very intelligent and especially informative.love her
I adore Dr Lori..
She's a real priceless treasure
Very intelligent lady. Love to watch her ☺
Thanks Kathy!
I adore and cherish your sarcasm! You are so knowledgeable and informative. You tell it the way it is....you keep me laughing and educate me on the diversity of your knowledge. Thanks Andy
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching!!
They have the most amazing pieces in thrift stores.
All great stories. I spent $15 at auction in July for a costume lot, found a nice ring in it and had it appraised, came back at $15400 CAD.
Bargains are always out there! Keep shopping!!
The segment on the blown glass marbles, Dredin coffee pot, mid century painting and estate sale found jewelry was one of the best shows of yours that i have ever watched. Your information on each piece was added to my brain cell files.
You made me smile when "rabbit skin glue" was mentioned as one of your identifiers. At the School of the Boston Museum, all of my canvases were sized w rabbit skin glue and primed with lead white on my portrait finish linen canvas. (I stocked up on lead white when we learned that it was going to be banned.
As an aside, you appeared less rushed than in videos with live audiences/set time segments. Wonderful to listen to and absorb.
Thanks for sharing the feedback. I'm happy you enjoyed the video as it sounds like it brought back some good memories too :)
I have just started watching your videos. I really enjoy the comical side of your show. The info is super too. Thanks!

At our Goodwill, they slap multiple stickers all over the pieces as though they are trying to make it difficult. I always feel like they resent us buying anything of value.
Yes it happened this week and they ruined the hand painting.
Such a great teacher! Thanks Dr Lori
Glad it was helpful!
I sure like that brooch of a starfish you are wearing!
Dr. Lori, I’m a porcelain artist. The paint is fired into the glaze. I always put price tags on my painted items. If any residue
Is left, rubbing alcohol removes it. No problem. Just my experience.
i'm so glad i discovered this channel.

@@DrLoriV i submitted a few photos of a capodimonte lamp for value appraisal, i can't wait to hear from you!

Amazing stories!!! Makes me salivate waiting for the thrift stores and estate sales to start again here in California. Dr Lori is so much fun. Loved spending time with her this past week.
Nice to finally meet you too :)
omgoodness, the painting story is amazing.....all amazing...gonna look at your shows and see if i can attend, more stories please.....
I'm just amazed at the knowledge you have. Your the best.
Thanks for watching and appreciating the videos.
I love real bargains! Wow❤ thanks for sharing Dr Lori 🤗 love you
Double like on the topic of stickers, ugg.
I lost a couple of pieces that were hand painted, ugggg.
It then gos in the pile "going green one treasure at a time "
Love ya my friend
She is so fun to listen to and extremely knowledgeable! She is Beautiful! And a person who would be a blessing ti hang around with especially becuz of her high positive energy!!
To the skeptics: what could possibly be her motive for giving incorrect high appraisals? That would be of no benefit to her. She’s the real deal y’all!
You hit the nail on the head with thrift stores price labeling. There are some I won't go to anymore because they basically damage the objects with the stickers. Some use crayons or grease pencils on fabric or other objects where it won't come off without damaging the item. - very frustrating :(
I'm drooling over that jewelry, especially the pendant.
Thanks Dr. Lori....you are a walking computer. Wow!!

It plays my most recent videos first including the ones when I’m on other channels.
For some reason I've always been able to sniff out precious metals but not necessarily gemstones since the man made ones are almost nicer. The story you just told about the $300 purchase of over $10,000.00 worth of jewelry is incredible. I don't think I've ever made quite that large of a find but pretty close.
I love you and your show, your knowledge and your chutzpah but if you keep telling so many people how to find bargains there won't be any left. HA, HA!
Good for you. You know it's out there for you to find :)
Awesome as always!!!!! Love you Dr. Lori!

Dr. Lori just love your shows. Learning bunches and finally have time to shop!
Watch and shop!
Your rant about sticker placement on thrift store items is spot on! I bemoan finding something great only to have it ruined with the price sticker. 😩
I'm with you girlfriend! No stickers. Except for Dr. Lori Super Stickers. LOL
Another great video as always! I love the stories about real finds. Can’t wait till the next video. It’s always fun learning from you Dr. Lori, you are so knowledgeable and informative, thank you!❤️😊

My latest thrift store find was a beautiful Steiff reclining foal from the 1960's in wonderful condition for the grand total of 4 dollars. Was mixed in with a bunch of other soft toys and I actually did walk past it at first. Doesn't happen very often, but it's sure nice when it does.. 😀
It is all still out there! You have to look more than once sometimes :)
Starquant Yes it is very nice when it happens. It’s not often.

Wow! That jewelry lot was AMAZING!
I think so too!
Love stories like that
Use a blow dryer to apply heat and a sticker will usually come right off.
Please be careful with that approach :)
Had I found the black opal pendant I don’t know if I could’ve remained upright long enough to buy it. Beautiful pendant. Thank you again for sharing so much information with us.

I bought a bag of jewelry from a thrift store for less than 20 bucks. In it were many good pieces of costume jewelry and a tarnished wristband...the wristband turned out to be a sterling silver piece currently retailing at Tiffany &Co for almost $900. It was easy to bring it back to its pure white shiny silver.
Yes bargains are out there! Keep shopping!!
How to you bring silver back to its pure shining silver color?
@@sinistermesinisteryou8294 Good question to ask during my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE video.

Just a tip for getting sticky stuff off of items safely. Extra virgin olive oil on your fingertip and rub gently. Always works for me!
Love the information teach and knowledge 🥰
Happy you enjoyed the vid! Don't forget to share so others can enjoy!
Dr. Lori - I use Avon's Original Skin-so-Soft bath oil to remove adhesive from the stuff I buy. It gets all the sticky stuff off without damaging the piece. (for non-porous surfaces). Works like a charm!
I love the information you share. I have a bag of marbles that my dad had collected years ago that he gave me when I was like 14 ( am 71 now ). I guess I should take a look at them now lol. I would not have thought they would be worth anything. I never played with them since I felt like they were treasure pieces. Love all your videos.
