Geez Louise! It has never occurred to me to insure my jewelry. I buy jewelry boxes full of "junk" jewelry at flea mkts and garage sales and EVERY box that I have ever bought has had several pieces of "real" jewelry. Lots of silver, some gold chains and rings, pearls, and lots of gold and silver earrings. Some that look antique but mostly mid century. The last one had a smaller, very similar bar pin, and an Italian gold initial bracelet with 9 small diamonds on the letter E, and a sterling necklace with a single baroque pearl. Shockingly, they were stamped Italy 14k and sterling. And lots of costume jewelry. I would have paid at least 50.00 for the beautiful 80'ish jewelry box. I paid 10.00 for all. Now, I'm going to check that bar pin again. Thank you.

Hi Dr. Lori, I love your youtube channel! 😊 What brand of loupe do you use or recommend for examining jewelry and artwork?
Thanks for watching. You can see the loupe I suggest at www.drloriv.com/Tips/ID/4902/Treasure-Hunting-Tools-Storage-Products

I got a lot of jewellery from the sixties as in the costume some nice plastic so I think I'll get you to look at some of my jewellery and get it appraised even though it is costume jewellery I just would like to know and I have one gold ring but the claws are up high and it's got six diamonds on it 14 karat gold has an opal in the centre and it has she's so far as on each side I got it at Value Village for about 8 bucks I'm sure it's worth more than that. These are very good videos thanks Lori have a good day
Happy to see you are still watching the vids. As you have seen in my videos, costume jewelry can be valuable. I hope you enjoy your day too!
I need a luope. I hope I spelled that right! Going to buy one. Any certain brand or type? You recommend? Thumbs up! I’m a jewelry lover too!
I offer my recommendations on my website. Visit the Specials & Shop page there.
Dr Lori. I’d be afraid to bring that beautiful a piece to anyone because they can change the diamonds or who knows. I’d just keep as is and not have anyone touch it I lost a beautiful pin wearing on my Valentino sweater
luckily my sister found it in her car ! Amen
I have a gold ring like that I inherited the one in red box
I remember you telling me in a different video that your birthday was January 11 that is my mothers birthday she was born in 1925 but I know you Much much younger
Hi dr Lori. Such beautiful items I’m a jewelry gal too should have married rich/
She's always funny, but you will learn a lot of background stuffs from the items haha..
Dr. Lori which avenue of sale would you recommend for people looking to sell jewelry such as this? (Auction, Ebay, estate sales, ect)?
Depends on the piece. Many factors must be considered. I outline tips on my website and my online appraisal reports provide sales records to support my appraised values. Many use the reports to sell their items for top dollar.
Learned a lot today! How can you tell synthetic from real gems?
Also I bought a ring yesterday and the one Pearl came out when I got home. How do I put it back?
Good question to ask during my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE video so I can answer in detail and teach everyone watching.
It’s always good! I wish people would listen when you speak. 🤷🏻♀️
Me too :)
the pin oMg, i have a couple but can't distinguish the hallmarking, all though the stones detect to be real but the metal ... are silver?? i don't get that part?
Dr. Lori, can single earrings be worth anything? Outside of the gemstones and precious metals, that is.
Of course. People out there wear just one earring, maybe on their one ear or another piercing location :)
I have a question about my heirloom white and yellow gold wedding ring
Can you tell me what to do to get a photo of it to you kk

Hi Dr Lori. Will you be doing any shows in Connecticut? I read you're from Hamden. I'm in Cheshire and would love to go to one of your shows. Can you recommend any good jewelry auctions in this area? Thanks for all the tips!
We are always adding new locations on my website, so keep checking there for new events. Are you buying or selling at auction?
I would be buying. And I'll check out the website thanks!
@@deniseb2571 I help a lot of people BEFORE they buy. People send me photos for me to review, I tell they what the piece is really worth so you can know if you are getting a bargain, if the piece is really what they are saying it is.
How much do you charge to appraise art and jewelry?
All options and fees are outlined on my website.
What size is your ring finger? Just wondering the rings always seem to fit you!
I can make any good piece of jewelry fit :)
Are you work with people from show Curse of the oak island? I think I see her there. Soon I see her I know I see her.
So when you do happen across a valuable piece , be it jewelry , glassware etc, what is the best way to sale it? Besides the normal online place that’s so high in fees now
My online appraisal reports show you a place where a similar piece sold and for how much. And I've got a lot of articles on my website with selling tips to use that information in my reports.
