Geez Louise! It has never occurred to me to insure my jewelry. I buy jewelry boxes full of "junk" jewelry at flea mkts and garage sales and EVERY box that I have ever bought has had several pieces of "real" jewelry. Lots of silver, some gold chains and rings, pearls, and lots of gold and silver earrings. Some that look antique but mostly mid century. The last one had a smaller, very similar bar pin, and an Italian gold initial bracelet with 9 small diamonds on the letter E, and a sterling necklace with a single baroque pearl. Shockingly, they were stamped Italy 14k and sterling. And lots of costume jewelry. I would have paid at least 50.00 for the beautiful 80'ish jewelry box. I paid 10.00 for all. Now, I'm going to check that bar pin again. Thank you.

I really dig the videos that are ALL JEWELRY! I appreciate the educational opportunities here and REALLY LOVE seeing the wide range of pieces and learning about their attributes, value, periods etc
I would REALLY LOVE to see a set of videos about TEXTILES. Vintage embroidered pieces, vintage clothing, quilts of all kinds (but especially 😁 Crazy Quilts), Native American textiles with &/or beading... Basically ANYTHING involving fabrics, rag-rugs, hand-sewn needle & threads/ribbons/metallics, weaving and so on... I would be ALL IN for videos of that nature. ✌

Dr. Lori is coming to Seattle on Feb 17. I live in the middle of the state, but I am going to try SOOOOOOOOOOO hard to get my Mom to go with me. I have no idea what my Mom would be able to bring, she has me look up the most random things.... but just to be able to hear Dr. Rockstar evaluate other people's stuff would fascinate me beyond belief. Interesting that I used to go to Seattle only to see Pink Floyd and Aerosmith, Guns and Roses, etc...
What is this grown up thing that happened to me??? What would you all bring? Jewelry? Pottery? Glassware? I am hoping that other people will bring things that give me an idea where to start with things I have had no luck with.
I am willing to let Dr. Rockstar break my heart on something if I can hear her make somebody really happy!!

Dr. Lori should we keep gold in plastic bags, boxes, or cloth while not in use. Do you know a good storage system for many?

I just discovered Dr. Lori a couple days ago and I can't stop watching!
I have one question about two vintage diamond rings that I have already had appraised. I want to sell them but don't quite know how to go about finding the kind of buyer that wants to pay anything reasonable. I do of course realize not to expect full appraised value, but I don't want to "give it away" either. What would you suggest?

True story: I had my great grandmother's engagement ring "repaired" bc the ring had worn through..and he cut the basket and reattached to a new ring. I've never been happy...I was young...dumb, and while the gold was gicen to me, my ring is ruined. This was almost 30 yrs ago. Heed the advice on getting someone who knows antiques!!! All work is not equal!

    Dr. Lori
I've seen and heard lots of people selling good jewelry on ebay, I try to let them know that you Dr. Lori is a professional PhD that can tell them what they have in there hand is valuable, but they just put it on ebay or sell them doing there own auction and sell it for a some amount omg. Those who don't want to learn and think they know better, then let them lose there money that's there problem. I love to see your videos, because you say it how it is. I want to learn all I can so that when I go to a thrift store and see something valuable I know what to do thank to you Dr. Lori God bless you always and love your sense of humor your gorgeous in and outside.
