Thank you for taking the time and patience for doing this video, nice to see the number of banks. Great for those of us thinking of buying this.
I'm glad I could help!
Just got mine today, can’t wait to get home and try it out 1
Thanks for sharing!
At last a normal review of sounds thank you 👍🏻
thanks indeed for your patients
Glad I could help!
Very helpful video! Thank you 🤙🏽
I'm glad I could help! Thanks for watching 😁
I bought a MicroKorg S, I have a roland System 1 and a lot of soft synths... your video helped me to choose, thanks.
Talking about analog, ive never seen a video comparing a microkorg to 5 star synth like a moog or prophet...
Im willing to compare mine with the Repro-5 which is a great plug synth... then maybe post something
Cheers and thanks again
The MicroKorg is a great beginner synth and can draw a lot of inspiration form all of the sounds it has. It would be intersting to see a comparison obetween a MicroKorg and something mike a modern Moog or Prophet but in my own opinion the Moogs and Prophets blow the MicroKorg out of the water. A lot of it depends on how talented someone is. I would rather be skilled on a MicroKorg rather than play badly on a $2,000 Moog. It all depends on how resourceful you can be, Ive seen people make lame music on equipments thats thousands of dollars, and Ive seen one guy on youtube get 37 million views using an old guitar with only 1 string ( Brushy One String). I guess thats my 2 cents, hope you dont mind the long reoly haha thanks for watching!
Does the Microkorg S have a vocoder dry-effect setting for creating unaltered vocal harmonies?
Do you like the voice coder mic the singing quality? And how well do you think the synth sounds and layers and allows you to shape and design your own sound?
Hi, thanks for making this video. I did not finish it yet but I will. I was wondering if you knew if you can record songs on the machine itself or MUST you have a computer? Also, Am I able to connect a larger speaker to it and it will cancel out the built in speakers??
also, when using vocoder, can you just use your normal voice sometimes?
Im very new. thanks for your help.

Does it have the same exact sound as the original?
It has but bank A has new sounds. Bank B and C have the original sounds of Microkorg's A and B and D are all the same presets, but you have the ability to customize sounds of your own.
I do have the nicrokorg original. but, I'm thinking of buying this, as the original is hooked up to headphones, and therefore, if I buy this one, it comes with a speaker. therefore, no unplugging and plugging in. if I was a gigging keyboardist, that'd be handy for sure.
great video but cannot decir between this MICROKORG S n the KORG VOLCA FM ..which is more versatile to desing sounds??.. any advice?? thank you =)
It depends if you want more of an FM synthesis sound (Volca) or a more traditional style synth sound (microkorg). Both would be great for sound design. The Volca FM is at a great price too. Ultimately, they are two very different synthesizers and you need to pick the one that will best suit your needs.
Hello friend! Can you help me please? My friend replaced the factory patches of my Microkorg S, but he use not awesome patches as the original. Where can I find the factory patches?
Sane problem..did you solve It?
Does the vocoder have a dry setting for just creating on the spot vocal harmonies?
dry setting? not sure what you mean, in order to work the vocoder needs both the modulator signal and carrier wave, it's not just sending your voice into the unit, it's using it to shape the sound.
Is there no backing beat music on this synth to add ?
No, luckily :)
Do you know if you can use ist as a midi keyboard?
I haven't personally done it but It is possible. There is a lot of info on the internet on how to do it. I recommend getting a dedicated MIDI controller to make things easier on you but turning a MicroKorg into a MIDI controller is totally doable too.
I use mine as a MIDI controller works fantastic.
Also to note, any synth with MIDI out should be able to control other gear. (via MIDI of course)
Reminds me of the Blofeld which is a better synth imho. 25 voices, 16 x multitimbral, fatar keybed with at. The only thing I dislike is the fact that the sounds don't sound that warm like a real analog synth (VA vs analog).
Good to know, This is my 2nd synth, my first one being a 1985 DX-100. I think a microkorg is a decent starter synth. My next synth will either be a Moog subsequent 37 or a Nord Lead A1.
If you have any suggestions for other synths that I should try out or review let me know :) Thanks for checking out the video!
