Love this episode.. Sam is more a HongKonger than our native born. Your appreciation of the city turns it more charming and loving.. Thank you, Dear, for reminding many of the old memories of this gorgeous city.. An excellent video.. 👍👏💪
Thank you Louisa so much for watching and for the kind comment! It is our privilege and joy to wander around these neighbourhoods exploring what they have to offer. It makes us appreciate what a special place Hong Kong is! :)
Really enjoyed your videos, you obviously have done your homework and research for your great contents, your cinematography is good as well. Keep the good work 👍
Thanks for yet another high quality upload for us to tucker into Sam! The food looked so tasty as always and That park and it's history was just insane man! You guys must work so hard at these videos and it certainly does show 👍🏻 keep em coming please mate, can't wait to visit there and rewatch all of these again for ideas! Much love 🤙🏻
Thank you for watching James and for another really kind comment! Much appreciated mate… and yes- with all the diverse food this place is gorge central!!
Love your context of Hong Kong and when you were in Japan. When I was living in Japan, I watched your videos and help me what areas to visit. I visited my distance family in HK a few times a few years back. I would love to go back and visit again.
Thank you for watching Alan, and glad the videos have provided you with inspiration as you've traveled around Asia. Hong Kong is an incredible city with so much to see and do- I'm sure you'll enjoy it when you can get here again. :)
Hi Sam. Thanks for taking us through the top 5 things in Kowloon city. It was crisp but still had enough information. Keep up the good work. Always exciting to know stuff about Hong Kong. Cheers
Just found out about this channel and loving the content so far. Would love to see one about Hong Kong Cafes (Local vs chains), MTR, and other districts like Mong Kok.
Haha!! You are such the foodie and it's the way of life to walk around elsewhere and try the different food in Hong Kong!! Your recommendation sounds interesting and tempting and I can't wait to try the beef bun!!😍
Thank you Kathy! It's one of our favourite things to do to wander around this city and try as many local foods as possible! The beef bun at Islam Food is incredible! Highly recommend it!
@@HongKongHoods Thanks for your lovely sharing!!You seems like a Hong Kong native and you know how to order food in Cantonese! Are you a British? How long have you been living in Hong Kong?? 😂
Thank you William, we're honoured that we're the only channel you subscribe to! While we do have to bear in mind time constraints (ie we don't want the video to become too long for people to enjoy), we love showing as much as we can of this city, and will certainly bear in mind your comment :)
Thanks for another great video. My wife and I have been watching them all as we are moving to Hong Kong on Monday (fingers crossed it doesn't change again!) and can't wait to start our new life there once we get out of quarantine 🙂. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you Marc for watching and for the kind words, I’m so glad you find these videos inspirational and that they are helping you and your wife prepare for your new life here! I’m sure you’ll have so much fun exploring the city and trying the eclectic array of foods here! Best wishes for your settling in period!
Marc Beadell Lucky you and family can work and live in Hong Kong. You will have a chance to try cheap and yummy local food and international crusines. Be open, exploring the districts and hanging out with your local friends, you will find how amazing the food world is. Good luck and have a great time in Hong Kong! 😄👍
Just like before, another great video. I am glad I visited the temple and part of the park and wet market. While I never tried the beef pancakes in HK, I had them periodically in Los Angeles area.
Thank you as always for watching and for the kind words Tim. We're glad you've had a chance to visit this part of town before, especially that wonderful park! I'm sure the beef buns are great in LA too, and maybe you can do a firsthand comparison on your next visit to Hong Kong ;)
Thanks Sam! It was good to see a beautiful park on your list. And you're creating music for your videos as well! How many strings do you have to your bow? 😁
That's very kind of you Dave, thanks as always for watching, and yes, the park is quite something! Music production is something I've always been passionate about, so I naturally enjoy putting together jingles for these videos! :)
Yes, I worked for japan-guide from 2016-2019- great memories! Moved to HK in the summer of '19 and been making videos here for a year and a half now. Welcome to the channel!
I wish I could remember the names of the restaurants we visited while in Kowloon. Heck, I wish I could remember the names of any restaurants I ate in for my nine trips to China. Oh, I take that back. I remember eating Burger King while in the Hong Kong Airport waiting for my flight.
The other day when I read wikipedia I came to know one funny fact of the big Kowloon City District. My district is the only district among 18 that is incorporated into HK in different stages (3) - Area south of Boundary Street (1860), area north of Boundary Street (1898) and the Kowloon Walled City (1984?)
@@HongKongHoods I went there as part of a school trip, of all things. Our guide led us through a section and there was so little natural or artificial light there was literally nothing to "see". We were just stumbling through two or three inches of muck.
Oh, I remember one more name I ate at while in Shenzhen. My friends wanted to treat me for lunch so first they took me to Walmart and then we ate inside Walmart at the...........McDonalds!!!!......LOL
Hey man, thanks for introducing Thai Hot (泰仔美食). I checked the Google rating which is good. I will see if I could go there in next visit to Hong Kong. By the way, what brought you to Hong Kong?
We recommend it, certainly for their great value, delicious lunch sets! Definitely check it out if you can. I came to Hong Kong with my wife after living in Japan for some years. A mixture of career paths, and also because I'd always wanted to live in HK since travelling here for the first time when I was a teenager.
@@HongKongHoods Hey buddy, I am amazed with your experiences and mix of mindsets. I guess it is because you have lived in different countries and have embraced yourself with different cultures. Are you original from the US?

Hi ,I 've watched a couple of your videos. I noticed something. Did you notice yourself your head tilting 'down' slightly and then eyes looking 'up' to the camera(audience)? It's like audience can see your top head very often.
This is usually because space is tight in some of these restaurants we cover, so I am forced to lean forward to fit myself and the food on camera. Thanks for watching!
Hehe yes Nikki indeed it was so full of soup- went everywhere! I think the mutton dumplings are a little bit of an acquired taste, but that's not to say anything negative, as they really were delicious!

Thanks for the kind words! and that's brilliant, and we couldn't agree more about Thai Hot- that lunch set is so reasonably priced, too!
