Thank you. By the way you’re absolutely right in stating that you “may be able to rotate the damaged gear 180 degrees”. I just fixed mine by doing exactly that to the internal white gear. Without spending a cent. Sorry no pics tho.
My JK also ticks, but a bit slower, found out it is the air recirculating door behind the glove box. It will also do it when it turn the fan speed control off or on depending on the position that it is currently in.
Sounds exactly like my problem. Grabbing the part now, will update afterwards. The video seems extremely helpful for both diagnosis and the fix! Thanks!
A week ago to 2011 jeep wrangler unlimited sahara even with the jeep off it still make the noise these jeep jump arund with parts, went from pcm to alternator to stabilizer to this noise
My 2015 wrangler just started doing this. I suppose I'll go get it fixed some day if I'm unhappy with the airflow. I always did hear a silent whirring sound anyway but now it sounds like a machine gun. My 2006 Mustang does the same thing and I've never felt a desire to go get it fixed.
Thank you so much, I had the same problem with my jeep Sahara wrangler 2018 and it worked just fine. Although I didn’t remove the vent to fix it and I didn’t buy the actuator I did a rotation as you mentioned it
2016 JKU, Similar but different issue...same noise but sounds like its coming from behind the Glovebox...louder outside the passenger side of vehicle than inside. Air recirculating door?
A lot work for a “simple” part replacement! I ran into a similar situation when I replaced my Emergency Brake Brush Housing. Removing the Center Console is a lot of work! Great Video!
@@the.stellab3289 i didnt 🤣 it makes the noise now and then and when i open and close my doors, but it hasn't affected my heat or my ac. the noise stops after about 15 seconds
@@the.stellab3289 if you need to replace yours in your patriot, it's located in the well under the driver side steering wheel. youll have to remove the plate that covers the bank and it's in a really difficult place to reach, but it's an easy fix to do yourself if you're flexible. the part costs about 20 bucks

Nice, so glad it worked. I'll pin the comment, hope it helps others. Thanks a bunch
Gonna try it!

Thank you for this comment. Same here. JK ticking behind the glove box.

You welcome. Definitely keep us posted.
@BubbasgarageTv that was it! Easy fix with your video. Much appreciated. Keep up the great work!
Right on. So glad it helped 😁
I like the suspenseful music while working
Hey thanks
Thank you for your video! I just followed your steps and replaced my friend's noisy actuator and now it works perfectly! Thank you!!
Right on, so glad it helped!
Mine started doing this a week ago. 2012 Wrangler. Annoying AF! This os apparently a JEEP issue and it should be a factory recall fix.
Mine started a week ago too!
Yeah it seems like a common issue
Hate to hear that. Hope this video helps if you decide to fix it yourself.

@@ispeakthetruth9815 goodness, yeah this will happen even when the key is off.

Thanks for this! Cost me $17 and a lot of cuss words! Couldn't get the dam duct work in without some extra cuss words.
Hope this helped. I know what you mean it's a pain and very a very tight space
This video was extremely helpful in helping my step-dad fix his jeep, thank you Bubba

Sweet, so glad it helped 😁
Nice work Bubba on the module swap. Looking forward to seeing the wheels you select in the future
Thanks brother!!
Thanks for the vid, was just troubleshooting the sound, did a quick google search and your vid nailed it
Very informative! Thanks!
Your welcome so glad it helped.

Interesting, very possible. Adjust the HVAC system and see if that instigates the noise or not.
coming from inside the glovebox in mine too, did you figure out what it was?
Thanks for the video. Argh!!!! The stupid actuator doors would break all the time on my Suburbans too! Will have to replace mine it sounds like.
Keep us posted, this was a tight area but worked out well :)
“…then this is probably the video for you.”
Yep! 👍🏼
Hopefully it helps
Very helpful. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!!!! My jeep has done this forever!

My truck did that once and then never again. It was wild hahaha good video Bubba!!
Haha nice when it just fixes itself ha.
What if after no cold air comes out! Mine is in the same angle! And only hot air is coming out now!
THANK YOU! Mine just starting clicking...
Your welcome, glad it helped 😊
Please do details! My 2013 wrangler is doing this and I would love to do this on my own!
Will do. It's a pretty straight forward swap. I'll get some out soon.
They must've sourced their actuators from Ford. I had 2 different Expeditions that had the same problem.
Hello! Is the actuator blend in a jeep wrangler 2012 is located at the same spot?
Good to see you brother. 🤟😎
Hey thanks brother. Hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving
Does it have to be repaired ? Will it damage anything else ?
Thank you!
Thx for the info.. good vid, good vibe Bruh✊️🤙
Thanks a bunch hope it helps 🤠
Should this be an immediate fix? Is this doing any damage or can I live with it for a while?
You can live with it. Worst case the AC or heat blowing out of the vets won't be perfect.
my 2015 patriot is doing this exact same thing but i just replaced the blend door actuator about a month ago 😢
How did you end up fixing it?

Would this be the same issues if I hear this when I am starting my Jeep?
Very possible, do you hear it any other time? Maybe when you adjust the HVAC?
Would this cause the car to smell like natural gas?
I wouldn't think so
How come when it starts making that noise the door locks stop working?
How's that Toyota 4Runner coming???
Ended up returning it back to it's owner unfortunately.
