I started going bald at 13, and it literally crushed me and sent me into depression. I got bullied at school and even the dermatologist was puzzled, but male pattern baldness can sometimes come earlier than anticipated in some young guys. I lost it all by 25 and just shaved it off, as I wasn't a good candidate for FUE transplant. I then worked on my physique with weight training, good clean diet and skincare routine, good fashion, and I was finally getting compliments and dates with women, at 26, and a lot of them didn't care about the baldness.

At 13 that is tough. Being bullied for anything sucks but losing your hair at such a young age and people bullying you is cruel and downright sadistic. You make it through and those idiots hopefully got what was coming to them.

Good on you! High school and middle school bullies are all coming from massive insecurities of their own. It was always more about them than us. I've kept tabs on those people on social media, and some former bullies have since died from drug overdoses, and car accidents, and some have had very messy divorces and custody battles. One bully became a small town cop (of course), and another ended up as a corporate manager, although that one did apologize years later, and seems to regret his behavior. It was always more about them than us, and karma has treated most appropriately since. My grandpa was bald by age 16, but he never let bullies stop him from carving out a decent life for himself and his family. Again, good on you for reaching a good point in your life.

I think looks are subjective. Some women hate bald men. Some don’t care. Some love it. It really depends. As you get older, less women care because it’s more normal. But I can understand why single guys in their late-teens/early-twenties have insecurities around it

I made the mistake of using a hair unit, which caused me alot of anxiety and depression to a point I didn't want to go out in public.

I second that, Harry and this channel gave me a massive confidence boost as well. Sometimes, all it takes is to know there are many other people suffering from the same problems, and that you are not alone. I've come to accept people will judge you no matter what you do or how you look, but they are also usually preoccupied with their own insecurities or how they look to notice or care, especially in my young adult life. I've also found that some women are attracted to the bald look, as one of my ex girlfriend's articulated, rocking the bald look was a sign of confidence in her eyes.

I fought through the same issues as everyone else I see on this channel. Checking the hairline, wearing hats everywhere, But this year my mum was diagnosed cancer and to support her go through loosing her hair I shaved my head and without it being about me it made me realise
A- there are WAY WAY WAY more important things… I didn’t think about my balding whilst doing it
B- having a shaved head is completely fine and normal and no one mentioned it.
I have never grown it back.
I don’t advise everyone has a dying mum to help them do it, but finding something to take you out of the minute details of the hair itself to see a bigger picture makes it easier.

I used Rogaine when I saw my hair receding. Then March 2020 rolled around, and I really didn't have a need for it anymore. After not using it, and letting time sort out the anxiety, I just stopped caring, shaved my head, and grew a beard. It took me a while to stop caring about people judging me. People will judge you no matter what you look like or what you do, so it really doesn't matter. It is 100% true a lot of that worrying about your appearance stems from is attaching more importance to it than other people do. They are too busy worrying about their own appearance to really notice or care. Don't let balding get you down, enjoy the time you have here and rock the look.

Nobody should get a hairtransplant while not being / staying on finasteride basically forever.
People should be aware of that.
You either go bald and just shave it bro. Or you get on finasteride and get a hairtransplant.
The hairtransplant without the finasteride doesn't give good results long term ! (Yes the minoxidil is not strong enough by itslef to keep your hair long term).
    Finasteride > minoxidil.
But finasteride + minoxidil + a hairtransplant is basically the cure against balding.
People must understand this and then make their choices.

having had a hair transplant myself hairline mainly and regretting it - i completely resonate with this guy on all topics. he is lucky he doesnt have ridging/ and bumps under the transplanted hairs and can actually shave it off. when i shave off mine are ovbious are are very unsightly - unfortunetely i would have to have another surgery to remove everythign and try to flatten the skin.
Back then I didnt realise the amount of effort required to maintain existing hair - before the transplant i said i will take fin for the rest of my life np and did a trial for 6 months with no issues before the transplant - now I have itchiness in the nipple area and libido issues 10 months later.

I'm only commenting to help others. I am not sure what the incentives of this channel are
Here's what happened objectively for this gentleman:
    1) He got a transplant for *just the front part of his hair.* This hair is solid 9and permanent. It is DHT resistant, meaning it won't fall out for a very long time, and may stay in his head forever
    2) He did nothing to address the persistent balding on the rest of his head (top and crown). These were his original hairs, and they are not DHT resistant (DHT is the derivative of testosterone that causes hair loss. Hairs on the back and side of the head are DHT resistant, therefore do not fall out)
    3) He simply needs a second hair transplant, and he'd be great, but he doesn't want to drop another five to ten g's
Comments about needing to be on medical therapy are for individuals who do not want to get a comprehensive hair transplant or multiple transplants
Incredible amounts of misinformation in these comments

    • @LouisStevens-yy7uj
      @LouisStevens-yy7uj 2 місяці тому

Also, Turkey's transplants are often better because they do them more often; more muscle memory
      This is not brain surgery

I live in an Asian country where they care so much about beauty. Bald people are made fun of on TV, so being bald has not been embraced like in the rest of the world. I work with children and they will sometimes say...hey you are bald and laugh about it. I guess it's the influence from TV. It does bother me sometimes and wish I had a full head of hair. 42:19 THIS.
When people claim that social media and the Internet "ruined the world", think about how many personal struggles are being debated, explored and embraced. Think about those struggles that people thought that had to be faced alone (many issues still are, of course), that had to be hidden and kept secret in shame.
And I am SO happy that men are finding a safe place for their absolutely legit and valid struggles.
This last sentence is not about "women having it easier" (LOL, nope, not at all, but at least female communities are being more and more inclusive, supportive and safe, while male communities generally still struggle to be this open and welcoming about deep personal problems; not only on the Inernet, of course, but in friendships and society, too; for MANY issues it shouldn't even be a matter of "male" and "female" anymore!). But goddamnit it's so unfair that men are still being generally ashamed for asking for help, for searching for validation of their feelings and for talking about their emotions, their own insecurities and their loneliness, for longing for comfort, affection and comprehension, for being free to be humanly and naturally fragile.
I am SO PROUD of this channel, I am SO PROUD of this community and I am SO PROUD of these generations which are finally breaking stupid, ignorant and senseless prejudices and social illogical ""rules"".

I have experimented with fin and i agree it is necessary, but try to take as little as possible. I currently microdose @ just 2mg a week. No negative effects. I saw a study where after 12 months they reduced the dose to only 1mg per MONTH and the majority saw no loss of result. I now ensure to take very good care of my hair and health, diet etc. Zero topical chemicals on my skin or hair, no shampoos, gels, hairsprays etc (that all contributed to losing it in the first place as well as poor diet and other factors). Very low maintenance, no min or micro needling etc. Hair looks and feels great now. Bald since my early twenties. Never did anything except shaving my head bald. I am 45 now and I razor my head every other day. I can give you 4 pieces of advice, if you may.
    1. Shave your head EARLY in the process. Do not hold out. It is way easier to have a buzz cut with hair and then keep on shaving. You feel it way less that way and when you effectively go really bald, acceptance is way easier.
    2. If you can keep any facial hair, do it, and take care of it.
    3. Work on your body, bald and fit is a good style for any man.
    4. Meds and transplants do work, but you have to work for it with a good clinic and good maintenance after that.
I loved this episode, but this gent has been ill advised all the way. It takes effort, there is no magic in it, much like anything we do. I know men who did FUE and have had great results. It is not for me as I have been like this for half of my life, but I would never advise against it.

My hair is very thick very full and looks beautiful.
I am on minoxidil and dutasteride
Everything went perfect, and I had absolutely no problems .

I think the results of your ht are not bad, yes it's thin but it's your hair, and it looks very natural, have you tried growing it back today to see? How many grafts did they extract if around 1500 then it was quite clear that wasn't going to cover all balding areas? When you went and had the first one done, it's usually the case that patients with one HT's will have 2nd one in their lives to cover the top and back and then you're good, it all depends on how many grafts you have left at the back, It's a shame the tone of these interviews is always leaning towards getting your head shaved as the final solution, rather then also showing people with great HT results and how it changed their lives...

Congrats on uplifting men to embrace baldness, I know its not easy. Im receding myself & ive been covering my hair wearing hats for 8 years and its not fun. 1] You try to cover your balding areas its a constant check to see if its exposed when you know its easy to for it to he seen. 2] You start comparing yourself to random people, hell even old men with a perfect hairline and they dont even need to be "handsome" so you're left to feel worse. 3] Youre always uncomfortable wearing a hat because you're squeezing your head. 4] You dont want to go out anywhere for that reason. Balding is probably one of the worst experiences a man could go through, people love to make jokes of it & make others feel bad for it.. including women but they wont do it to balding women. If youre here going through this battle you have my respect, we deserve to be happy whether thats with or without hair.

Sorry, I hadn't watched the entire video when I wrote the comment below. He addresses the same points that I made.
    _____________
I recall seeing men with hair transplants even back in the 90s (pre-internet, for most of us) and clearly they'd had the front done at some point...
...but soon after, there was a little "fence", a row of hair (the new front hairline) and yet the hair behind the initial transplant (the "fence") had continued to recede, so that looked very odd.
I knew back then that a transplant would never solve the problem. It would always continue.
Later still, I would notice "victims" of the transplant industry. They would just have scars and more scars, and more comb-overs, because they were fighting a losing battle with the receding/thinning parts. I could only imagine the money they spent.
Shaving my head totally "down to the wood" was the only solution, and it was SO liberating, in many ways.
I'm looking back a few decades, in my own life, but your channel is certainly inspiring many younger men now to make the correct choice, and just shave, before they go down all sorts of costly rabbit holes.
    Cheers! 🙂

I just been for one. Month post op so looking forward to following peoples opinions. So far so good. But my expectation isn’t unrealistic but I get the battle he has fought. I had smp which helped then went to Athens for my first fue. For me I’d been through years of baldness so walked around and shaved my head last week to the skin and getting on with it… I guess it’s down to personnel mindset. People looked but a few looked twice but no one was really phased or gave a crap. So for me going through the shedding stage currently so I’m cool with it… but shaving it all off years ago and having smp helped and was a great start. Not exactly a case for a successful HT as he only had the one side? Advice smp Matt anti shine moisturiser and a zero fade with short top.
