Will you be trying this technique? Let me know! Summary of steps and products are listed here: genamarie.co/2023/01/how-to-brush-style-faster-low-density-tips/
I kind of do it this way now, but I have even less hair than you and I don’t part my hair even in half. I just brush sections at a time, then scrunch. I spend less than 5 minutes brush styling.
You are such a sweetie recommending Sophie Marie. I watch her too and I think it’s really kind of you to include her as a credit to this video. Love both of you guys!💓
Thanks for the mention lovely ❤ watching now! 😍 funnily enough I have an Instagram video coming tonight on combing Vs not combing and the difference is insane haha xx
Your hair looks fabulous, so full and great definition. It is impossible to tell that you have low density hair, it's that last thing I would think looking at your full head of beautiful curls. My problems are crown frizz and an enormous hair-splitting cowlick from the crown halfway down the back of my head. Definitely going to try this and hope for some improvement. Thanks for sharing!
I've never tried this combo, but seeing how great it turned out for you I think I'm going to try it tonight! I love finding great combos since I rarely do one brand wash days or even one brand styling routines. Plus I haven't used my spiralicious gel in forever!
I used those two products together for the first time yesterday 😆. I used to use Spiralicious back in the beginning of my curly hair journey in 2019. I remember liking it but I didn't repurchase it when I ran out because I wanted to try some other products. I recently repurchased it to see if I still like it on my much healthier hair. So far, I do! I had great results after diffusing yesterday and my day 2 hair today needed zero refreshing. It feels nicely moisturized but not weighed down.
I will definitely try this next wash day, I’m only week two into my curly girl method journey, I’ve never colored, bleached, or straightened my hair, but I used to have a lot of physical damage in my hair and I tend to get a lot of buildup (I need to use a sulfate shampoo at least every other week) and I recently donated 12in of my hair to wigs for kids and that's when I started the curly girl method.
Sweet! I’m going to try this today. Try this routine with the bouncecurl brush and you can skip the comb. I also saw someone recommend shaking with the brush at the end, like rake-and-shake. I’ve only done it once (bc I forgot) but I really liked the results.
I'm very excited to try this method. I've haven't been styling my hair with a brush for a couple months, nor in any special way lately. Without going into a lengthy detail, but my hair and curls have been "off" for nearly a month. My hair type and texture is veeery similar to yours, so I'm hoping a bit of a change for my hair will do it some good.
Same, my root frizz is horrendous on the 2nd day. Every attempt to fix it is unsuccessful outside of completely rewetting and applying more product, ugh.
I love this tutorial. I have severe carpal tunnel and a sleep disorder called narcolepsy. This helps me to not have to stress out so much when styling my hair. Thank you for the tips.
Thanks for this quick brush styling routine. Looks great! I like the results I get with brush styling, but I don't have the patience for a long hair care routine, so will try this. Was interested that you clip the crown at the end of diffusing, I've been doing after diffusing or toward the end of diffusing cause it seemed to work for me, but I felt like I'd been doing something "wrong" based on what I've seen from some other videos for curlies. So I was glad to see you do it and get great results! Thanks again!
I’ve been trying to brush style on my own b/c I didn’t know it was a “thing” LOL So glad to find this video and I will be refining what I’ve been doing. Thanks!! 😊
I saw a technique called gravity fed brush styling (from galhaswavyhair) and it has been working really well for me to create root volume! I also use the Tangle Teezer... it's so good!
❤ helpful video… I do some of the same things. I never thought of clipping the section I was finished- that’s a good idea 👍🏼. I really like to use the Behairful hair for the hair around my face but I guess any brush with a combination of boar bristles and spiky bristles would work the same.
Yayyy! I have been trying to speed up my brush styling! I love the results, but it takes so long. I LOVE that super cute white top you are wearing....could you link it please? ❤
Definitely going to do this! So do you ever use volumizing/root lift products before diffusing? Better to use only curl products thru out and full length of the hair?
Thank you for this video! I don't really have hair that works well with brush styling, but I do utilize this method for the sparce spot in the back of my head, and it really covers my scalp better.
I wish you could do my hair lol like a lil consultation ✨ I think its time for me to try this sectioning, I might aaaalmost have enough density where I can do my crown section the way you do yours. In the past thats been a problem area that only a hat can truly hide 💀
Does anyone find that Polyquaternium 69 makes your wet hair 'sieze' and be hard to brush through? Spiraliscious, CS Shine & In Shower Styler. It is supposed to be the Bomb for curls, super water soluble, humidity resistant, you can scrunch the snot out & your curls re-form. I wanna ❤️ it but IDK what is the problem.
That spiralicious gel had the strongest hold I've ever seen. I couldn't scrunch out the crunch so I looked like ramen noodles. Do you have any tips/ideas as to what I did wrong? I only used about a quarter sized amount for my whole head.
@@GenaMarie That's what I plan to try. I get great sausage curls underneath without any brush styling (and they last,) but struggle to get definition and longevity on my canopy.

You're welcome! You are the best at this method! Can't wait to see your new Reel!

Finally a perfectly descripted video on brush curling! Perfect energy for the video too! Thank you, just what I've been looking for! 🎉

Tried it and turned out great! Probably my best wash day yet. Thank you!!!

Yes trying this weekend! Going to watch the video on parts next because my front always looks funky!

❤ gorgeous. My root frizz is what I’m still battling with on second day 😤 I’m going to try the brush technique

Wow your curls look great!
Tried this today and I'm very happy about how fast I got it done and the outcome! Thank you!
Love brush styling cause I have thin hair too. I use Curlsmith but the technique is fabulous. Thank youGena great tutorial
I like keeping things as simple as possible. I will give this a try, as well as the quick wash to style on next washday.
I don't know which product did it, but your hair is super shiney! It looks great!
Thanks!

Great tips thank you! I have real trouble covering the crown at the back so I'll try that brushing at the end as you showed, thank you!
Great video!

I'll have to try this technique!!
I’ve been brushing towards the back for so long!
I’m gonna try forward and see what it does😮 My hair is pretty big so I imagine it’s gonna be wild 😜

I want to get it in every color now lol!
Definitely going to do this!

I like More this result than other Times. Perhaps it is the gel but i think the big differense is this brush styling
Do you have a video to compare brush styling with just scrunching?
I wish you could do my hair lol like a lil consultation ✨

I do love to brush style my curls but I feel that it isn't for me anymore. Still super good for when you need to do your hair quick
GM, for me I find this to time consuming & I have a bald spot that I have to work to cover. thank you for doing your videos.
You can just do the top section to save time 😊

So you wear something at night to keep your curls from going crazy?
