resolving force of vigor against this deck would be the nut- imagine hitting urzas saga and a lantern or something and making them lose their glimmervoid too
I understand the appeal of having watery grave to search up against Boseiju, but have you considered 2 watery grave + 1 river of tears instead of 3 watery grave? River of tears helps painlessly cast a discard on turn 1 and suspend a tutor on turn 2, and it always produces U in the opponent's turn. It's probably at its worst when it is your only black source, and you topdeck a profane tutor when you don't have another land drop. Anyway, I'd argue that the opportunity of saving two life in the manabase is definitely something in a deck that already runs thoughtseize and spire of industry.
tbh don't remember exactly where I heard about it, just remember liking the idea; was a commander player at the time but it was the first modern deck i built will try other variations, if you have a list you want to see played feel free to share it
Whir is great when it works. I took it to 2 events recently and found it to be a liability. I found triple blue very difficult, though you do have an extra blue source than me (I had academy ruins).
Does the line of redirecting both targets of force of vigour to spellskite and welding jar that so you keep it work? Or is it too high of a life cost to pay.
I havent played this deck in like 5 years but its still sleeved up. Might dust it off cause that looked fun
how do those opals feel ?

I mean they resolved force of vigor, and 3 flame of anor in game 2 . . . and still lost 🤷♂🤷♂

hmmm, definitely something to consider
Love this content! How did you get introduced to Lantern? Any more variations you want to try?

@@lanterninsightsdo you play Commander on modo at all?
@@TheBrothers759 not online, but yes in paper - dont have a lantern commander deck yet though :)
Cut inquisition, 4 thoughtseize + 2 duress is enough
I liked the longer form content better to listen to at work

More specifically I found it bad when I needed a bridge fast.
@@ollie67584 Had same feeling... sometimes drawing a saga feels like a punishment xD
Do you think it was right to pay 2 life game two with spellskite and then you would have 3 mana on turn 3
Possibly, but if I tap spellskite I can't whir for anything anyway, and if I had just run out the bridge it would have been hit with force of vigor.

you can't redirect the second one to spellskite because it's already being targeted by force.
Better than black/white?
Have to test it more, just came up with the idea; but it might be
