      Efficacy is not really a question at this point, it's really just safety. I wouldn't say it's a complete substitute for finasteride, however if you can do a low dose of finasteride avoiding side effects, in combination with RU, that's quite a combo.

      Am I the only one that noticed he didn't get the memo. RU58841 is supposed to be applied topically not orally. The safety concerns that were mentioned in the video were pertaining to oral administration. From what I have read RU58841 has no side effects when applied topically and it outperforms finasteride.

    14 minutes and you don't say anything, it's actually impressive. You talk about how ru is not approved, that you have to buy it online, how the body is dynamic, how "it can have side effects for a lot of people". It's like asking a banker how to invest and him telling you that there are a lot of ways to make money, nothing is proven and there is no guarantee you'll make a return on investment. Can you say how the product is made, what it contains, how it interacts with the hair follicle, reference some peer reviewed studies/papers? It's a 14 minute video and I've learned jack shit.
    That's why MPMD has a boom of subscribers, if you wanna learn about anything related to hair loss, he is the only youtuber I found that doesn't talk shit for >10 minutes, the only problem is that in order to get a better understanding of this topic, you can't rely on only 1 guy's expertise

    RU seems to have very good anecdotal evidence going for it, there is also a fairly old human study (but too small with a sub-efficacious dosage)
    It's also not new at all, the formula has become public much like finasteride, it's been developped in the 80s by a french insitude (vive la france)
    Also RU is best used in conjunction to a 5ar inhibitor, so that it binds to the remaining androgens like the increased testoterone and remaining DHT
    The fact that is binds to testosterone as well is a good thing since it doesn't seem to be leaving the scalp and going systemic

    • @arhamnabil9461
      @arhamnabil9461 4 роки тому +1

      Well I don't know much about laser combs and am not an expert but there is an initial shedding phase if you start a stimulation therapy for your hair . The phase starts after a few days being on the therapy and the shedding phase can last upto a month or so depending on the condition of a person . The hairs which are shedding may have been in their telogen phase (around 10% of our hair remains in that phase ). In this phase the hairs are weak and are merely hanging by a thread . When we try to stimulate the hair growth the healthy hair from inside the scalp pushes the hair outside causing the hair to fall .
      Bottom line if you have been using it since months(4-5) and see no results and same response then you should go for another alternatives . But if it's been few days on the laser therapy then you should definitely give it some time ( a couple of Month at least).

    I need help. One big question that I can't seem to find the answer for: Is dermarolling for the scalp counter intuitive? From my understanding, after dermarolling the scalp it provokes an inflammation response. So this is a good thing right? Sort of. Isn't DHT recruited to the area of inflammation? So wouldn't that mean there is more DHT going to your scalp? Isn't DHT itself inflaming the scalp? So why are we inflaming the scalp when we seek to reduce inflammation for a healthier hair growth environment? I don't understand.

    • @nhanoo2000
      @nhanoo2000 2 роки тому

      Dermarolling efficacy is not related to the inflammation of the area -- the purpose is that dermarolling pins puncture the growth hormone gland (GHG) in the hair follicle. That's why they recommend a depth of 1.5mm depth needles. You need to puncture and stimulate the GHG -- that is the purpose of Dermarolling. The inflammation is a side effect of the skin being broken, and/or the glycol or alcohol of the minoxidil or other hair products rubbed into the open punctures

      Hey! You might not see this since it's been a year.. but I had the exact same thing. Psoriasis started on my head. It started as a small red spot and grew. My naturopathic doctor put me on high doses of Vitamin D. It turns out I was SUPER vitamin D deficient and that was causing the issues. I'm now taking 20000 IUs a day and my scalp psoriasis is gone. I recommend seeing a naturopath and starting taking high-doses of Vitamin D. It is safe as long as you take it with Vitamin K2. The two go hand and hand. "Dr Berg" on UA-cam has a lot of videos on Psoriasis if you want to learn more. Take care

      Just saw your reply. I discovered the same thing. Taking high amounts of vitamin D controls my psoriasis to a huge extent. I was taking 60000 IU per day now I'm down to 20000. If I stop taking it for a few days, the psoriasis starts flaring up again. Still doesn't get rid of it completely though so I use a bit of topical steroids. I considered K2 but it's not easily available in my country.
      I appreciate your response :). I'm surprised that vitamin D supplementation isn't the first line of treatment. It seems to work for a lot of people. None of the doctors I went to, even the naturopaths had recommended vitamin D treatment. I started it for another reason and my psoriasis improved as a side effect.

    Ive recently moved onto RU58841 as of late May 2020. Noticed hair thinning and a receding hairline in 2007/2008 aged 20/21. Male pattern baldness very common on my mothers side. Jumped onto finasteride in october 2008. Halted it with some slight thickening. In around 2011 added minoxidil which over the following years was inconsistent with application just due to it being more of a chore to apply than popping a pill. In around 2018 noticed I was losing ground again so decided to be more regimented with the minoxidil doing twice a day without fail and have recently swapped finasteride for dutasteride and added the RU58841. Early days but hair is feeling better and denser. Wanted to go for a more heavy duty bulletproof approach as I felt after the number of years I was using the same products my body was starting to almost override them and build a tolerance thus making them less effective. Hopefully by December time there will be some visible results.

I know many doctors have said when you start baldness young the full pattern shows itself at 25 years old, so when I get to age 25 do you want me to get off Finasteride and then see if my pattern naturally stabilizes? But what if I get off Finasteride when I’m 25 and then I end up going strait to a NW 7 then I definitely can’t get a hair transplant. What is your expert opinion/advise? thank you

      @bigeurasianstepper 4 роки тому

      25 isn’t an absolute age, if you’re nw5 at 23 your baldness pattern is already evident. The age 25 benchmark is more for people under 25 who have had hair loss or recession but who’s extent isn’t clear (maturing hairline or complete baldness, etc)

      Josiah Wolf are you sure? I’ve been a NW5 since i was 20 years old in 2017 and still have been a NW5 (some doctors would even say I’m a NW6) because I’ve been on Finasteride this whole time. So I don’t know if I’ll ever get to NW7 and not knowing scares me

The only side effects i feel is i am not waking up with hard on as frequent as i used to be and i don't think about sex as much as i used to be but not to the point where i can't maintain erection or can't get erection

    You really need to adress the factor of testosterone itself in killing hair follicles, DHT is not the only thing killing hair. It would be very useful for people battling hairloss if you could talk about some topical antiandrogens like fluridil, alfatradiol, fludamide, spironolactone...

    • @BlahBlahPoop617
      @BlahBlahPoop617 3 роки тому +2

      Not really. T is no where near as potent as DHT is in negatively affecting the hair follicle and studies show that healthy baseline T levels in most men isn't enough to do this. T levels would have to be very high in individuals who are ALSO prone to hair loss via increased sensitivity to androgens. In such individuals, DHT is the main thing, not T, that is causing the hair loss. Most men will see good enough results just by getting DHT lower by 50-70%.

    • @SemiDurakovic
      @SemiDurakovic 3 роки тому

      @@BlahBlahPoop617 I have no idea where this myth of "T isn't as bad for hair follicle as DHT". The condition is called androgenic alopecia, testosterone is an androgen. There was a good video by the channel MorePlatesMoreDates that shows even when your DHT is virtually undetectable (how low it is) when you crush it using dutasteride, how much hairloss still happens due to T.

    How low can the efficacy of the finasteride go after years of taking it? Can it go to a point where there is no reason in taking it anymore since it has no effect whatsoever anymore?

    • @arhamnabil9461
      @arhamnabil9461 4 роки тому +1

      I am no expert but have digged deeper into this field .
      Once you stop taking finasteride completely you would be in a state where you would have been not taking finasteride at the first place itself . The chemistry of the drug lasts 20-25(approx) days after once taking it . You can always take a break from finasteride if you have been using it for a long period of time (say 6 months or an year ) . You can easily go on a break of 2-3 months and then continue using it afterwards . Bottom line is once you start using the drug u gotta keep taking it as long as you want your hairs on your head . And yes its effect does fades away after a specific time once you stop taking it.

      It's actually half life in your body is 7/8 hours but it build up in the scalp and can stay there for considerable amount of time about 30 days this is why people can get side effects later as the drug increases over time .get blood work done before taking it you would be able to get some idear on your chances just by knowing your test and estrogen levels before using it

      Potentially as implants cause auto immune disorders in some women, and one of the symptoms of autoimmune disorders is bald spots as the WBC attack your own cells inclusive of your hair cells. Hope this helped somewhat.
