This video is the best content. The clinics are vague. Like the post care lines up but they never say why which just leaves you in worry. For example you've said 72 hours is the key period for being able to rub them out. The clinics don't mention this so you're a nervous mess for longer than necessary.

I lost a few grafts in the first five days. Probably 4 or 5 in total. Just me being careless. But I still have the other 4695 left so I guess it won’t matter.

It's weird how many different instructions are found online. From not getting the hair wet for two weeks to regularly rinsing. As a doctor myself although internal medicine, I think yours makes the most sense and Ive been following it. Only slept longer with raised upper body, pure torture without a recliner. Next time I'd make sure to get one (and since I have only very sparse transplants since the area.was so large, there'll probably be a next time). Thank you so much! 11 days post op now and I'm feeling awesome, I don't think I'll still be losing something.

Right! My doctor told me to not do any form of washing until 3 weeks after the procedure. That sounds ridiculous because then the scabs would last a lot longer. Im currently on day 2 and I think my day 5 ill do a light wash with the baby shampoo as he instructed in the video.

Right! Got mine done 10 days ago and I was instructed to apply the panthenol foam and shampoo every morning though I do it every night.
It can be so confusing the varying aftercare information out there

Everyone recommends saline rinses every few hours, my doctor didn’t recommend that at all. Just an all over lotion for 20 mins followed by their foam shampoo. Just the spray bottle to rinse it off instead of the shower head. I didn’t what they said and it’s worked perfectly. All crust gone by day 7.

This gave me some peace of mind, I didn’t exactly follow my hair transplant providers instructions and did some steps earlier than they recommended. What I actually did was exactly what you said in this video. I’m 8 days in and all my crust is gone, they said to wait till day 12 to start removing it, but I felt I was ready at day 7 to start. All is looking great, I had 4500 grafts across the front and sides of my head. The only problem I have is severe nerve pain in my scalp in the donor area. Hopefully that will go away.

Very different post operative instructions, mine were:
Morning after - remove donor bandage.
Day 1 - 3: spray every 30 minutes with saline solution
Days 3, 6 & 9: wash with baby shampoo and water and gently run over the recipient area followed by plain water.
Day 12: head under shower slowly massaging any scabs away.
Day of surgery to day 4 post - antibiotics & anti inflammatory medication.

There were two separate ointments - one for the donor, one for the recipient.
All crusts were out by day 7-8.

Will my grafts be damaged? I had my surgery three days ago and they said I should apply the solution in every one and a half hour...... Now I'm learning that I should have applied the solution in every 30 minutes.... The air in my room is very dry, so I'm very afraid that because I didn't apply the solution in every 30 minutes, my grafts will die. I took good care. I slept on my back and Im really afraid that because of that advice my grafts will die? It was a FUE transplant.

Great video thank you. I had my HT 8 days ago and my doctor gave me same instructions. I have 2 questions. I read somewhere that the transplanted grafts go all together into dormant phase and then later start to grow. But isnt it that all hairs go through all phases at the same time? Means they all go Telogen at the same time and fall out when their time comes? And how long after a HT should I wait to use a Dermaroller?

does people have to take finasteride to avoid the new hair from falling again?

    • @kjjviii1735
      @kjjviii1735 Рік тому +1

The transplanted hair will never fall out if it has been taken from the correct donor area from the back of the scalp.
Balding only occurs to hairs on the top of your scalp however I'm sure you have noticed on some bald people that that area does extend a little further down at the back. So as long as hairs have been extracted from the correct donor area than your transplanted hair will last forever.
I recommend if you've experienced hair loss to continue using finasteride after a transplant to avoid further hair loss to your original hairs on top.

After leaving finasteride for a period of two months, will the follicles become more sensitive to DHT, and if I take finasteride again at a lower dose, will I get results? Please answer

Can you make a video about finasteride? It’s side effects and how effective it is. I hear that it affects your testosterone levels, if so how badly?

It can raise testosterone levels by 10-15% because the lack of conversion to DHT. Although there's not much utility in that anyway.

if you lose a few grafts (up to 10) on days 3-5 bc of slowly massaging the scalp to get rid of scabs (I know, should have been done with water and soap), will that damage the rest of the grafts that (visibly) remain in place? Or should one be worried that the act of having dry massaged the recipient area, could have damaged the grafts?

You should never massage head until the 10th -14th day and that should be only when wet and washing

Beards can sometimes be used as donor. You'd just skip taking hair from the back of the head in this instance.

7:30 I have a question about the swelling. I am on day 3 after my hair transplant and as mentioned I am experiecing swelling above my eyebrows and temple areas. I am taking all the medication that has been mentioned, and on top of that I have been advised to put ice packs on the swollen areas. Honestly, I dont notice any sort of reduction in swellings using ice packs, and my doc has told me that too much swelling could potentially damage the transplanted graphs. I was wondering if that is true, since I have never heard of this before?

Sorry doc, my main takeaway from this was that I could potentially get some perc's. =P On a serious note, can you make a video on how to tell if topical minoxidil (TM) is working? Like, I didn't use any scientific method before starting TM and now I legitimately cannot tell if it is working. I'm willing to shave my head to measure my results, but again idk what scientific objective method to use. Plz help doc!
