I love the beautiful, realistic energy that you cast out upon the world. You will never know the effect that you are having! Catherine, keep being exactly who you are. You are the leadership that this world needs. Thank you for sharing yourself!
Every year is different. Every year is another "lesson" that ultimately no matter what, we actually are NOT in control of our gardens. "Faliures" are simply a learning curve. I personally have "failed" more than I have "succeeded". In saying that I GREATLY appreciate my wins. Give yourself grace in the garden, take time to simply breathe the fresh scents. Your gardens are very lovely and you do a wonderful job.
Great insight about garden lessons. I learned that repeating the same behavior brings the same result. Would have thought I would have learned that much faster than I have. Seriously good lessons for this aged senior!
Garden pots are so versatile and can be moved around to find the perfect spot in a garden. I love how you have grouped the pots outside your green house - gorgeous colour selection 🤓🇦🇺
It’s been such a sad week here in UK and your video really is like a big warm hug. Garden is looking gorgeous....even the so called sad bits. Climbing roses will look so pretty, can’t wait for those. Much love. Xx
Rachael, sorry for your country’s great loss. I live in the US, but I admired this amazing lady. It is wonderful to see Catherine’s warm smile and voice. 🥰 My thoughts and prayers are with you all. 🫶🏻
Your potted area looks stunning! My biggest lesson this year (being a complete beginner gardener) is to have faith that Mother Nature knows what she's doing and not worry so much about getting everything right🥰
Girl those pots and bucket arrangements turned out beautiful, and as with everything, the more often you do something, the better you get. Soon somebody will pay you a 20 for such a potted delight. Love watching you and listening to your garden chatt, makes me happy! 🪴
Bob Ross, I'm sure, would be so smiley in his soft-spoken manner - knowing a beautiful girl in Ireland spoke of his 'blank canvas' and 'happy little trees'. Indeed. Mother Nature, ever-changing, will inspire us to begin again following Winter. 😊
You are an absolute joy! Here in the eastern US the humidity has gone and the nights are cool! Woohoo! 🙌🏻 I envy you for growing Cyclamens. They’re so gorgeous, as are your fall plantings! The colors you chose are lovely. It’s fun to change it up! Who says it has to be yellows and oranges??? I love reading others’ comments. Thank you for making that possible! I feel so international and I’ve not left the house. 🍁🫶🏻🥰
Yes a trip to the garden center does make the heart happy! I'm always taking pictures of my garden throughout the seasons. It helps me see the bare spots, especially spring bulbs, or lack thereof, haha. I've learned that pots in the garden are awesome, starting plants I can't find from seed much easier than I thought, and careful planning/patience is key. And if it doesn't work, move it : ). Through you I have found more inspiration, Monty Don, and Carol Klein. I love seeing how others garden, it has given me plant options I wouldn't normally have thought of. I am thankful for this community and for your sharing!
Beautiful arrangements Catherine, cheered me up no end as Autumn approaches. Your garden is gorgeous. I could just do with sitting out there and having a cup of tea with you lol.
I love your videos for your bubbly, positive outlook on life - you are a joy ! My veggie patch has thrived on neglect these past few months due to my ill health but even though I only 'scratch around' about once a week, it still makes me feel good when I do. Hi from Australia xx
I lost a butterfly bush from our winter last year. But low and behold the butterfly bush root sprouted and I have a beautiful plant blooming now. It’s in the wrong spot mind you so next year I’ll be fixing that. But I was patient when it first started growing, not knowing what it was at first. Happy I didn’t start ripping things out without giving it time before I recognized it. And today a monarch butterfly was on it! Patience really is a virtue especially in the garden.
I love your garden, Catherine. It's been a beautiful progression this year! Yesterday I finished weeding, planting and transplanting. It feels so good to have it done and all coming together! I'm already for summer now, but I guess I'll have to wait for summer to come around again!! I transplanted a St. John's Wart and hope it will be happier in its new spot...it already looks less stressed. I go to our local Lowes store where they have what I call the "dead plant rack" (deep discounts) to get plants to rescue! They just need some TLC and water to perk them back up. It's so satisfying to see the plants thriving! My tulips should be arriving in the next couple of weeks...something new to look forward to! Thank you, Catherine for sharing your love of gardening and tips for making our gardens beautiful! You're an inspiration!!
You said chrysanthemums perfectly! 👍 I live in the U. S. in Kentucky. We just call them Mums. I love love love the ornamental cabbage! I think they are beautiful! It looks so good! I Love your little garden!
Perrienials never look great the first year. The first year they sleep. (You just need to keep them alive). The second year they creep and the third year they leap. So wait for the third year to make decisions on what to move.
I too am ready for Autumn & a trip to my garden center. Thank you for your inspiration! I’ve been waiting for my zone 9 to cool down a little more. Your new selection of potted plants look so inviting! I think your future ideas for the side yard will fill in perfectly. The sound was not interrupted by the wind. Thank you for taking me along with you in your garden journey. It brings me such peace & I enjoy your little comments of humor.
Everything is looking great…it’s not easy gardening, it a lot of work but I love it…I’m at peace and tranquil and in my own little world…it’s a rewarding loving, chore….💗💗💗
Catherine, I always look forward to Sundays and your videos. I'm zone 5 and so I really try to get as much of of my garden before first frost around October 15. I too have really been watching my garden to see where the most sun is, the best soil, etc. I already have a better plan for next season. As for autumn color, I'm right with you. I'm planning on picking up mum's and violas. Waving to you from across the pond.
Love your garden💗💐 And loved what you shared about Irish Heather, especially. We have been trying different things to attract bees to our garden area: vegetables, berries and fruit tree’s
So pretty and colorful. Love the trailing ivy and the ornamental cabbage. Not sure what plants are poisoness to cats but just a reminder. I'm heading out today to get some mums for fall. You are making a beautiful garden.
I loved this tour and especially your comments at the end-we do indeed get a blank canvas every year. (Bob Ross. Happy trees.) My mums take vacate LF themselves every year-green all summer and a show in September, just when the rest of the garden is looking really sad. Zone 6B, New Jersey, USA.
I think the pots are fab. I've been to the garden centre today and got the same. The front border looks OK. I think you've got a good layout and new ideas. Your garden is lovely 👍
Over the years I have learned where in the garden different plants do best. It's exciting to see them happy. Still learning with a few. Love the well surrounded by colorful pots. I'm happiest with perennials but can't resist a few annuals Loved today's visit with you. I'm inspired to play in the garden tomorrow. Thanks.
It makes me so happy just to watch your channel....I am in a tropical state USA... Im in the gulf so we stay fairly warm year round... cools in the winter but still no snow and no ice... No rain.... Just cool.... Many garden here at that time.... I have a year round garden that doesnt really change at all... Everything tends to mature and rest a bit but no huge changes.... I LOVE that.....LESSON for me is that what I thought was true from the books is not always true in reality....I took chances and I am grateful for them.... EX- cant grow roses or hydrangea... I have both (moment of vanity there...lol)... I LOVE my plants but wish I could have more english garden feel and less tropical....Jennifer
Loved watching this! Like you, I’m learning as I go, what grows best where etc… getting to know the plants and the spots in the garden they like 😁 Those pots are so pretty 🌸 the colours are gorgeous 🤍 have a great week! xx
Your autumn flowers are beautiful, as is the garden. At 64, I’m still learning, still failing, and still love to garden. I’m in zone 7, on the shore in the states in Maryland. My mums, not mothers, the flowers as we call them survive nicely here. Even after an extremely cold, usual winter. 3 snow storms, that hasn’t happened in decades, planted in containers and the ground, they come back. The container plant has gotten smaller over the yrs.
We have had such a drought; even though I watered the flower beds, everything is crispy! Or, maybe I should say crunch. Mulch is the best thing for keeping the moister in the soil. I couldn't get any this year, and it shows. Funny, today we have had rain, nice now that the garden is nothing but twigs. LOL! I think I will get some mums to brighten things up a little. I think your garden is beautiful, and I love the pink. Enjoy your cup of tea, xoxo's Sandie🤗
I’m waiting just a bit longer for my winter pansies and violas. I did learn that where I had my tulips this year was too hot for them. So on to the next spot. Thank you for sharing all your lovely plants and flowers.
Hola preciosa soy tu nueva seguidora me gustan tus videos pero mas los que haces en tu patio los arreglos que le haces las plantas me super encantan saludos y bendiciones desde Monterrey 😘 🙏🙏❤️
I'm in Wisconsin, USA, growing zone 5a, and have had some luck with hostas planted in partial shade, and shady areas. Hostas are perennials and come in many different varieties. They are hardy and drought resistant, spread and divide quite easily. The only downside is their attractiveness to slugs. Your resident hedgehog could help with that. If available in Ireland, hostas would look beautiful in your front garden problem areas. Love your channel. TFS.
I got 24 gladiola bulbs on sale last Autumn for $2.00. I planted them this Spring and wasn't optimistic about them, but every one of them bloomed in gorgeous pastels but one was a bright red. I loved them all. All of my front garden flowers did so well this year. Bearded iris, tiger lily, daffodil, tulips, hollyhock, crocus, grape hyacinth, rose mallow, and peony. I probably forgot some, but they all looked so beautiful. The back is a lot of fruit and veggies but I do have 2 huge bridal veil bushes, calendula, Lavender, Chamomile, lilacs, and a big area I throw a bunch of pollinator, butterfly and hummingbird attracting flower seeds. It is in constant bloom with over 200 kinds of flowers from early Spring until snow kills them.
Late catching this video. Love how Blondie enjoys every bit of your garden. The planters you did up today look lovely. I had planted some Patsy early in the spring, which prefer cooler weather. Once it gets hot they usually die off. However, I thought at one point I would need to dig them up and replace them with something else. But the are still showing beautiful blooms. Go figure. As always take care, looking forward to your next video. Love from Canada.
💗💗💗Love Ur garden n Ms.Blondie totally enjoy such beautiful n windy day...how peaceful...this summer I have learned that not all plants can be on full sun really enjoy our South Texas sunny summers☀️🔥....I owe my mom a rose bush, it's crispy I feel horrible...n thts on the tag said full sun!??🤦♀️lesson learn...
I think your garden looks lovely even as it’s changing with the season. I grow in a zone 5a/5b. We get frost and snow and very frigid in the winter. The rebirth of the garden feeds my soul in the spring but here in Canada 🇨🇦 the changing leaves in the fall is so beautiful you can’t help but love that as well. Have a wonderful week 🍁
Hi Catherine. Wow! Zone 8-9. It stays so warm where you are! I'm a 5a-6b in Quebec. The biggest lesson I learn every year is to wait before ripping out what I think are weeds lol almost took out an anemone and some aster 🥰 I'm finally on vacation and plan to work on the garden. The grapevines and weeds have taken over! 😱 love your garden and great job on the pots😍
I do add fall color to my yard (zone 6b USA) Mums always tend to bloom and fade quick, so I shy away from them. I also add pumpkins. This year we had a drought and the lawn died, this weekend we started from scratch, what a lot of work, some day it would be nice to slowly add more plants to reduce the grass. My shade garden is on my to do list for the spring, I have never really enjoyed it and have felt guilty for pulling plants but I have heard many a time not to worry, you want to love your garden!
Tell you what I've grown for the first time this year, it's fantastic, and it's a perennial 'Gaura'. OMG it's still flowering, it's been in flower since July. Comes in Pink and also White. I know you will love it, it's right up your street. I grew it from seed, dead easy!! Delicate little 'butterfly' looking flowers the full length of the stems, mine's about 3 feet tall and has easily tripled in width too. It doesn't look that good on the seed packets, but I am delighted to have discovered it🥰🤭 Love the pots you planted, so pretty. Wish I could grow a 'Blondie' in my raised beds😆
I Love your garden videos and look forward to them every week. I'm in Tennessee in the US and zone 7. I think our area and your area are about the same! I haven't been able to garden the past 2 years due to needing hip replacements. I have now had the 1st hip done and the 2nd one on 10/17. So next Spring you will not be able to keep me in the house!! Gardens here I come!!
Love the color combination of your purchases. It is a sad time in the garden when the season starts to wind down, but the mums, asters, and rudbeckia are all in bloom in Michigan.
My lesson this year was plant spring bulbs. Thought tulips from the previous year would flower again, nope.! So loads of bulbs going in. 🌷 Tulips, snowdrops, white daffodils. Your pots look lovely.
Love your garden and how you figure out what works and doesn’t work in it. And you aren’t afraid try some different plants and change them if need be. I’m in zone 8b and I have added a few fall mum in my garden every year and I keep them watered really well so they get acclimated, I love the color they give in the fall and also they are green all year as well as grow bigger! I still have some blooms from cone flowers and zinnias which the bees and butterflies appreciate by visiting often. Hugs and love from Texas!
Another lovely and productive video Catherine. It's still warm here but we have had a lot of rain this last week or 2. My grass needs cutting but its just too wet. So I did some creosoting today. Quite pleased with what I got done. I have mysterious things that keep appearing in my garden. There's a sunflower suddenly appeared, I think possibly a rogue seed from the wild bird seed. There's also a climber which I thought was deadly nightshade, but it is showing little flowers. There's also 2 unknown plants so I have no idea where they came from lol.
Your garden is really pretty in the back shade area, as well as your new plants. I will get some potted Chrysanthemums here shortly for some Autumn colour. I'll put them on my front porch next to the door and they will last about a month, I'm hoping anyway. Lovely video once again, thank you.
Geez I love ornamental cabbage! They are just so pretty! Everything looks great! Waiting for the cooler temps too. The humidity was crazy this year in PA.
My favorite discovery this year was Morning Glories! Beautiful heart shaped leaves, curly climbing vine, loves heat and full sun, takes all sorts of weather abuse and does great.
Thank you Catherine , Maybe try to mulch your front garden to hold more moisture in if that helps 🙌🌱👍Gardening gives me joy too 🫶🏻🌱🙌👒🥰🦋today here in port Mac is a beautiful spring day , you have given me some ideas for my garden thanks ☺️🧤🌸🌼🌺🌞karen from port Macquarie NSW Australia 🌊🐳🦇🦘🐨🇦🇺🥰
My garden lesson this year is water at night time when the weather has been very hot the later the better and wild flower mix in the garden is good for the bees and helps the tomatoes and strawberries get pollinated quicker (in the uk)
It’s always a learning experience. This year I had to deal with destructive critters (armadillo’s, a raccoon & squirrels) in the garden in which I’ve only dealt with squirrels before. I learned how to catch them in a safe metal cage & relocate in order to have my flower beds not destroyed. It was crazy this year, but I got it under control. Just hope next year improves.
Snap, I bought some winter pansies and violas. Was very lucky each tray of 24 was reduced to £3 and there is nothing wrong with them 😁. Back to your vlog now x
I love the beautiful, realistic energy that you cast out upon the world. You will never know the effect that you are having! Catherine, keep being exactly who you are. You are the leadership that this world needs. Thank you for sharing yourself!
Wow Marie, thank you so much!!
Totally agree! I have watched Catherine’s channel forever. She is so motivational.

@@DaintyDiaries you are welcome. Praying many blessings for you.
🙂
Great insight about garden lessons. I learned that repeating the same behavior brings the same result. Would have thought I would have learned that much faster than I have. Seriously good lessons for this aged senior!
Garden pots are so versatile and can be moved around to find the perfect spot in a garden. I love how you have grouped the pots outside your green house - gorgeous colour selection 🤓🇦🇺
Hi Catherine. I hope your well. Look forward to your next video. Take care. Xx
It’s been such a sad week here in UK and your video really is like a big warm hug. Garden is looking gorgeous....even the so called sad bits. Climbing roses will look so pretty, can’t wait for those. Much love. Xx
I hope you are doing okay Rachael x
Rachael, sorry for your country’s great loss. I live in the US, but I admired this amazing lady. It is wonderful to see Catherine’s warm smile and voice. 🥰 My thoughts and prayers are with you all. 🫶🏻
Your potted area looks stunning! My biggest lesson this year (being a complete beginner gardener) is to have faith that Mother Nature knows what she's doing and not worry so much about getting everything right🥰
Aw, I love that Diane x
Girl those pots and bucket arrangements turned out beautiful, and as with everything, the more often you do something, the better you get. Soon somebody will pay you a 20 for such a potted delight. Love watching you and listening to your garden chatt, makes me happy! 🪴
Awwww, thanks Martina x
Bob Ross, I'm sure, would be so smiley in his soft-spoken manner - knowing a beautiful girl in Ireland spoke of his 'blank canvas' and 'happy little trees'. Indeed. Mother Nature, ever-changing, will inspire us to begin again following Winter. 😊
The lesson I’ve learnt about dry areas is mulch! Super thick, like 10-15cm deep. I love your pots!! Beautiful as usual. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Yes! Mulch is my fave :)
I hope you are back to feeling yourself soon x 🥰
GET WELL SOON 💐
You are such a breath of fresh air and ray of sunshine. So glad I've found your channel.
Love your beautiful back yard. Love the wind too. Soothing with your voice.
Loving the autumnal vibe of the new plants , I can picture white pumpkins tucked in them . Happy Gardening 👩🌾
The wheelbarrow was truly a thing of joy💖💖👍👍x
We are SO looking forward to our Spring here in New Zealand, things are coming alive. Our camellias and rhododendrons are flowering, it's beautiful.
Your garden looks phenomenal! Revisit your older videos (I think I was watching 2019) What an accomplishment! You're a go-getter!
Oh thank you Dawn! x
It's good to see you this Sunday afternoon. I love you garden my dear 🤩👏🏡
Everything is looking great…it’s not easy gardening, it a lot of work but I love it…I’m at peace and tranquil and in my own little world…it’s a rewarding loving, chore….💗💗💗

They all look great. I think the key words to take away from this video are “ they give me joy”👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️🌺🌺
I know how you feel. I love the autumn and start feeling very excited even in August.
I love buying my autumnal bedding plants. God bless you.
Absolutely gorgeous Catherine. I love your work. Very inspiring. Now I gotta go do some fall planting!
The garden looks so beautiful, Catherine! Love your channel!
Happy Sunday all❤ love your garden
Same to you Neva x
Love your garden💗💐 And loved what you shared about Irish Heather, especially. We have been trying different things to attract bees to our garden area: vegetables, berries and fruit tree’s
I love that Donna, trees are so helpful to wildlife, especially birds x
My daughter planted a hive in my garden then a small swarm of bees, so bees I do have
😉 🐝 😃
Oh my, you're delightful. I'm glad I found you. I live in Vancouver, which is also Zone 8, so I'm subscribing. Everything you did is lovely.
I love your cottage home and the kitchen. I liked the sage green cabinets but also like the white. Really like the gold facet.
So pretty and colorful. Love the trailing ivy and the ornamental cabbage. Not sure what plants are poisoness to cats but just a reminder. I'm heading out today to get some mums for fall. You are making a beautiful garden.

Aw thank you Kate, yea, isn’t it mad how some plants love a spot and others just hate it, I’m getting better at listening to them 😆
Hi Catherine your garden is just looking beautiful you can see just how much you enjoy working in it . Have a great week . 💐💖🙋🏻♀️ Patricia.
Lovely video lovely garden always cheery thanx so much Catherine x
You do a great job at rearranging your potted plants at your green house ! I really like the autumnal pinks you potted up!! So pretty!!🌸🌸
You have created an oasis of beauty! Love these videos. LESSON learned...no matter what color you paint tires, they still look like tires LOL!
Hi Catherine love the flowers and plants you picked and nice job on the arrangements.👍👍💚❤
Amazing what a pop of colour can do to that small area of garden, looks great Catherine 😊

That looks AMAZING!!! Love your garden. First time I saw one of your videos. New subscriber. 💖
I just love your garden and your great enthusiasm Catherine. It inspires me. Thanks x
Oh il have to go have a look at them
I look forward to this 😊
I’ve had failures too. It just happens. You’re doing great.
Catherine, I adore this gardening day. Everything looks so pretty. Hi from Minnesota. Weather is turning chilly here.
Aw yay, thanks Marcia x
