Hachiko's story: Hachiko was a Japanese dog who was abandoned in America. He walked around the streets until a man called Parker Wilson found him. Since he felt sorry for the dog, he decided to take it home with the intention of returning Hachiko to his owner. Weeks passed as Hachiko and Parker had fun together. Hachiko would always wait at a station, eager for his owner to return. One unfortunate day, Mr Wilson had died in 1923 at his work place. Hachiko was two at the time and was unaware of this. He waited all day long for his owner to return. Days turned to week, weeks became months and months became years. Hachiko had been waiting at the station for 9 years, still unaware and with so much patience. He would wait and wait in order for his beloved owner to return. Little did he know, his owner would never return. After waiting for his owner to return for 9 years, Hachiko died at the age of 11 in 1934 or 1935. People who were close to Professor Parker Wilson realised and many people came to know about this heartbreaking, loyal story. Today, Hachiko's statue stand at his waiting spot. This act deserves to be noticed. This true story of a loyal dog proves that they are better the humans. I just heard about this story and wanted to share it.
