Man I wish I got to you before you got a frame . My buddy has a titled frame that has gussets from bare racing . I think he only wanted 200 bucks . But yah I never heard of that company but on the gussets they have bare cut into them so I guess they made gusset kits for ltz frames
Sabo I got an idea for your retro build. You should get two led pods and mount them to the bars in order to mimic the lt-250r lights.
Also if you haven’t picked out bars yet please buy some faast flexx handlebars they are game changing.
Also make sure you buy some super bright bulbs they are amazing and they don’t look like that crud luminescent orange/yellow
Also if you didn’t know the z400 swing ais ms had a terrible design so I would recommend having it welded or get a nice aftermarket one(I bought a fireball racing one)
You can also have the fly wheel lightened to make it feel more like a 450
You should also do a stage 2 cam and 434 kit or a 440 kit but that’s just my preference
I know you want to use oem but I would recommend an fcr 39mm kit
I know you have you master plan but these mods aren’t super visible, besides the lights, and they make a huge impact on rider experience and fun factor.
Dear Mr.Sabo, will you do a Honda Odyssey build but a performance built sabo edition! Fan recommendation #2 500cc 2 stroke dirt bike, whatever you chose (cr500 like a man ) restoration with only 80s to early 90s performance parts nothing newly made ! Thanks for the blaster videos. Also, now I'm getting one much love, man !
@1868timmy both would be awesome to do man. Glad I inspired you to get a blaster man!
@@1868timmy aw man he replied to yours and not mine😢
Love the ltz videos. Finally someone that i can actually watch for an hour without getting tired😂❤️
That's a huge compliment man 🤘
@@MichaelSabo Got a road legal ltz last year. Trying to do everything myself. You have the best videos!
I don’t even ride quads I ride dirt bikes and this man’s videos are still an absolute must watch
You need to build a small building in your yard that looks like a small ATV showroom floor for these builds you're doing it would be so cool if you could make them look like they are sitting on the floor in a shower room and it would be a nice place for you to store them and have them all together your content is great and I love every build I've seen!!!!
I agree 100%
Oh yeah Mike on Monday nights is the best because mondays get tough and he makes them look fun👍
Thump Nail looks Amazing!!😮 Chase those threads after you chamfer them... Honestly you should chamfer before you tap, makes the tap grab sooner and you don't need to chamfer after. JS?! 😊 Also most larger taps have a center point in them, get yourself a spotting drill bit, or a scribe bit, and you can use your drill press or mill to hold straight downward pressure while you turn the tap with a wrench! 🔧 Hey, The More You Know! Excellent Video and I'm stoked about this retro build!
Mike is really really really really good at stroking that slide hammer . Both hands too !
😂
I'm not a quad guy at all, but I love watching your videos man. Good job on these builds! 🤘
So glad you changed your mind on the blue heal guards! 😎
Im glad to see that your adding some creature comforts for yourself
Mike, the 04 sub frame allows you to use a new grab bar.
In retrospect, I would have upgraded but I already have a nice 03 subframe here.
That acorn comment and the dodgy cam video had me DYING!!! Lmao good shit mike! Thanks for the laugh 💯💯💯💯💯
Hey Mike, professional welder here. Wire speed sounded a little high, if you back it down just a little from where you had it, should be about perfect. It will get rid of the splatter also. If you are ever worried about welding a gusset onto a thin frame, while you are welding keep most the arc on the thicker piece and just kinda wash the puddle over onto the thinner frame just until it fuses and then move back to the thicker piece. With a 110v machine you shouldn’t be able to set it hot enough to burn a hole in that thick gusset. .023/.024 solid work best in those 110v machines.
Good work, loving this series.
I no this is old but I’m 40 and grew up with that quad and bought a raptor 660R new in 03 and my best friend got the z400 good times. I love what you do and watch all your builds I am doing a blaster for my son and that’s how I came across your channel I watched one video and now I’m hooked lol keep it up.
I did hit up power sports Nation. I got front bumper, bars, battery box and rear skid for my trx125. Awesome looking parts at Awesome prices loved it. Thank you for suggesting them
Happy to hear you had a good experience with them man!
Whats up sabo checking in again to keep the algorithm bumping man!!! Loving the build hope all is well with you and the fam you da man sabo 💪💪
Anxiously waiting for next video to see the ltz powdercoated🤣💯💀 checking every hour😂
I always appreciate the love Timmy! Thank you man 🤘💪
@@MichaelSabo lol be cool to shout me out in a video man I'll keep em coming I don't have an IG handle or anything but it would make my week dude 🤘😎 always a pleasure brotha!!
Ahhhh my favorite UA-camr just posted. How the turn tables have turned
Super excited to see this one come together!
You should buy an 06' dvx and lower it and set it up for motocross. Put some Elkas on it too. Thxs Mike👍
This is by far the greatest channel on UA-cam. Keep it up man. 💪🏻
You inspired me to fix my clapped out predator love the channel. Z400 is an iconic quad from my childhood, maybe I'll restore one next!
I love your dark humor!!😂😂😂 "Loud as a acorn falling on a car " 😂😂
Great video Michael I like how detailed you are on everything and how to strip and rebuild things with what tools etc keep it up
That acorn reference got me. 😂😂😂😂😂
You should put a EBay sign on your trash can
Since you're not doing a purely OEM build I would consider a YFZ FCR carb upgrade. I feel that this is something they may have done had they done a special edition. A DRZ base gasket is another upgrade option that is a suzuki part for a touch more compression.
I knew exactly where you were going when you started talking about the acorn lol
Longitevity! 😂😂😂 Keep up the great work! I look forward to all of your videos.
PSN and Partzilla are awesome! Awesome video as usual. Thank You
I have never seen a welding mitten that’s so cute
On A Monday night🔥
glad you didn't lose your finger mike🤟
Love the idea of the old school color scheme IMO suzuki should have never left the old colors.
This z400 is going to come out amazing with how much work you’ve been putting in keep it up Mike
You the man from the UK 🇬🇧 🙌
that is badass dude !! i like the A arm upgrade and the gussets . while you have the studs for the lug nuts out go ahead and put titanium back in with titanium lug nuts also . thats an mx trick 🤙🤙
Great idea man!
Never knew about the JIS screwdrivers until recently. Now i understand why i always stripped the screws on carb bowls lmao
man i have a LTR 450 quad racer and all ball joints are fixed - its so silly -.- That being said, I think this is the only vid showing someone tapping them wOOT WOOOTTT thanks dude!
The suspense is killing me. I can't wait to see this quad built.
Hell yeah.
Love all your videos and builds!
For future reference of welding heat up a little more and keep heat towards thicker metal let the thick gusset metal actually mend to the rolled steel
acorn joke got me😂😂 love the videos man keep it up
Outstanding video Michael! I feel your pain. Love the dry humor!
Haha, thank you man!
“And our hubs are done, ow that’s still hot” 😂
Videos out! Great way to end the day!!!
Man for the bearing barrier a hot plate seems to get the job done just lay them there till it gets out sometimes they drop by themselves it’s super easy
Sabo love that your dropping vids like every few days again my dude is back at the grind hard I love it and I absolutely love that you show all the little things you do to the builds that people have no idea how much time and blood sweat and tears goes into this stuff keep doing your thing my man
Mike! I noticed you (may have) taken my Instagram comment and implemented the blue nose guard based on the video thumbnail! it loooks soooo good that way!
It was a great suggestion man!
that acorn reference XD
Flapper wheels on the die grinder make it easier to not leave a bunch of different flat spots on whatever you grinding. The width of the bevel should be half the thickness of the material. You can also leave a 1/32 gap between the two parts for the weld to sit in but whereever there's a gap things will move and shrink when cooling
Loved it! Can’t wait to see the next steps.
Great video man, can’t wait to see the rest of the series!
W video love the Vid man you’re a huge inspiration and made me want to save up for my first build❤
Man thats awesome to hear!
No, thank you for sharing this great video, you Rock😂
Micheal sabo love the channel been watching since you did the 400ex love all the builds
Thank you for following my channel for so long man!
The industry standard Sabo with the win. Doesnt get any better
Awesome job Mike,epic for sure
Get u a port a band melt right through those cuts
Hey bud. Me and my friends love your videos. The suzuki ltz and ltr scene here in South Africa is very big. So this video is awesome to watch.
That is awesome to hear man! Thank you for watching and supporting with your friends 👊
i pauset video just when ground explode hapend and it looks fantastic
Omg!!!!! You referenced the acorn cop!?? 😮😮😮 did we just become best friends!?? YUP
Mike it looks like you welded downhill on the left, and uphill on the right. Uphill is always challenging. That might be why it didn’t turn out as good. Nice work as always though!
With each episode of this build, the more I wish I still had my 05. My favorite part of this video was you saying you were keeping it as your main ride! Hell yea man! 🤘🏻
Micheal video!!!
Yesss the new video dropped everybody tune in an give this man a like thanks for the content mr sabo
For the carb, I’d suggest a fcr 39. You can even find the fake ones for 150$ and they work great and take oem jets
Nice move with the ball joint upgrade mod I forgot about doing that back then
you and 2vintage should some day make a little video togetter. you both make the best content on the internet regarding atv`s and dirtbikes and in very differnt ways
Naaaah
@@samuelpanasyuk2955 Naah what

Loved this video, Great stuff!!! The heal guards will look good silver,or blue , it will look more OEM silver though, great job 👍
Can’t wait to see this quad be put together, great work Sabo 🤟
Thank you bro!! 🤘🤘
been enjoying the great vids mike, keep them up!
Thank you man!
Man can’t wait for this z400 to be done I’m actually restoring a 2004 yz125
That coating you are referring to is called Mill scale.
Yes!
@@MichaelSabo keep up the good work Michael! Love an ole OEM build 👍
The updated mock-up on your thumbnail is looking good! It makes me want to revamp my LTZ400 with that color scheme too.
I got an ltz 400, at the same time you do, it runs perfectly but im trying to make it look like new as well and looking at your videos makes me excited
I wanna see a competition OR collaboration with Bonzi garage ! Both channels are top notch 🙌
He makes some awesome stuff!
The acorn joke 😂😂😂😂
😂😂
i own a 2007 ltz400 totally waiting for a full engine rebuild to watch 🤣
Love your videos man
Another great video can’t wait for assembly time . The z400 is going to be epic
Cant wait to see the next episode!
I love seeing your videos I’d like to see you build a atc 250r one of these days
Can’t wait tell it’s done, like I’ve always said to you Mike you are amazingly talented at what you do. Keep up the great wk. still gotta get you out to Oregon to ride the dunes lol 😂. One day I know u will get out my way.
Great video Mike! Loving this build and can’t wait to see it ripping through the trails like it’s 2004 again
Great stuff man. Keep up the good work!
Hey Mike, have you tried using ultrasonic cleaner for the carb? It can help with fragile surfaces during cleaning. The only drawback is to make sure to use the correct fluid when using it to clean.
Mike I love the video you posted just a little bit of advice slow down on the weld
awesome job as always on the video mike! love the content you make. like the video EVERYONE!
Grinder and paint make the welder you aint 😂. Love the videos btw
The thumbnail pic is exactly what I thought it should look like. Definitely has quad racer vibe
As always, love this content Mike your the man brother!!
Man I love watching your videos and what you restore. I know this is a z400 but I bought a 400ex a few years back and have cleaned it up myself. I never though that I could until I started watching you. I did the graphic kit design and everything. Thanks for the videos. Keep them coming.
I just got a Yamaha kodiak fixed up and running on my channel! I love saving machines from going to scrap! I deff don’t go overboard like Mike tho 😂
IS THAT AN ASBESTOS WELDING MIT?
Love the videos. Tip from a welder 1st dont drag your gun away from angle. Push it it will keep the shield gas in place better. Love the content. Thanks
Great job Mike 🤘🏻
Nice to see you working on nuts really makes my day
Man this quad is going to look mint 👌 I’ve just recently subscribed and love your content man! Keep the videos coming man keep up the good work!
Thank you for subscribing man!
Great video! Can't wait for the next one!
Awesome video as always Mike! So glad you're doing this build, loving it!
