- We bought this property back in 2020, not realizing the importance of this lodge. This lodge is one of the most beloved lodges in the territory. Originally a military camp when building the Haines Road, it was converted into a lodge by Bun Beloud. It enjoyed a great deal of success and had regularly filled up rooms. Unfortunately in 1970, the lodge caught fire and was completely destroyed. Not too long after, it was rebuilt and that's the structure that still stands today. It ran until for what I believe the mid 90's when it shut down. Many say this lodge was haunted by a ghost named "Charlie", a friendly ghost. Many more lodge videos to come, so subscribe so that you don't miss out!!
As always, another great video. Thanks for.posting this video, Taiga, on a great historical lodge. Here's hoping it can be restored!❤
Hello from Watson Lake! That is SO nice! Good luck on your project eh?
Thank you very much!! Nice to hear from some fellow Yukoners!!!
Are you going to fix up the lodge and open it again?
Thanks for watching Age!! Fixing it up is the hope!!! Opening is another thing. I guess we’ll see where the road will take us!!
I remember that place from when I was in Alaska and Yukon with my parents in 1994. I wanted to buy it at the time. I still do. There’s something magical about it. Good luck with your project. If you get tired of it let me know though.
