Keep things rusty, except your tools!
* The mystery vehicle is an 1970 AMC Hornet. The door handles are a dead give away. Never ceases to amaze me the amount of past lives just walked away from in your beautiful state Austin. These people spent a lot of time doing mechanical endeavors. Too bad they left such a sh*t pile. The 50's Ford Truck was my favorite. 👊😎👍
Nature is slowly reclaiming the homesite. Lots of car parts there that someone would love too! Thanks for sharing!
Pretty sure that old smashed up green car is an AMC Hornet. You can tell it's an AMC by the door handles, and I saw an AMC badge on the rear panel, and the tail light looks like one from a Hornet...
Just checking comments to see if someone beat me to the punch. I'll always remember those door handles.
Yes, it's a Hornet, not sure about the white one, he blew by it.
Fireplace was definitely inside a house at one time. Probably burnt down.
It is always incredible to me, that people like you find these places that the owners couldn't keep and relatives have not wanted. Seems like it could have been a great getaway place.
Cabins and houses in the middle of nowhere just like this are all over Alaska. People come and think they can make it, then end up moving back home and leave everything because it is too much to deal with.
@@spamanator666 Wow, thanks for the info. I didn't realize there might be that many. I guess many people with plans, just don't realize the space, time, cost and work involved.
Even an abandoned old Ford in the bush has better closing doors than modern cars.
Ain't that the truth. I love that nice door lock action where ya just close it gently and it latches perfectly.
@@johndowe7003 that nice satisfying click.
@@sheldondyck8631 exactly 👌👌
Definitely need more exploration videos!
YOUR AFFECTION FOR OLD STUFF SHOWED WHEN YOU PUT DOWN THE OLD HUBCAP THEN PICKED IT BACK UP AND REPLACED IT SO AS NOTB TO FILL WITH WATER LOVE ALL YOUR VIDS VERY REFRESHING TO SEE SOMEONE SO YOUNG DEDICATED TO THE PAST
Great video was glued to my phone love American settlers homesteading.
Makes one wonder what happened for sure, I'd say 20-30 years over growth, probably last activity in the mid 90s. Cabin was definitely a serious effort when new, didn't look like a quick, fly-by-night job.Noticed that there weren't any radials in the tire storage shed.
Pursue it correctly, but that red/white Chevy is 73/74(by interior), a solid find(surprised it's still so intact)! Also the 54 flatbed, as well as the 63(?) - definitely solid sheet metal there(future project?), & that's BEFORE you even consider the bumpside stashes.
Cool find, LOVED the view at the lake. Please do more like this anytime.
Another 50 years and Mother Nature will reclaim the rest of that old resort.
Thanks for sharing.
That transmission next to the Dana has a Borg Warner overdrive. The solenoid goes for big bucks if good.
A lot of good old parts laying around going bad from being outside in the elements, What a shame, Thanks for the videos Backyard!
He's probably dragging that ol Ford home by now lmao
Everything about that place was cool.
Now that you found that transfer case you got to buy the place as a summer home for the Backyard Alaskan. You would have a lake, build you a nice boat dock. Plenty of room for expansion of the enterprise.
Very enjoyable video!! Thank you for sharing your journey (life) !!! Please be careful and God bless you and your family!!!! Eddy
I really enjoyed seeing this. Pretty well grown over. Thanks for taken us along.
Thanks for taking us along. It looks like it was a beautiful place back in the day. Regards from Ody Slim
Hopefully you can get all those parts. It would be great. I always enjoy your adventures. Please do more. Thanks for sharing. Until next time.
Pretty neat old place. Be a cool place to restore.
Thank you for the walk around. Does someone own the land? It would be very interesting to research the history of it.
Awesome looking view of the lake… that’s a good size piece of property.. thanks for sharing that ….
Thanks. I enjoy your exploration of your area! Bring us more!
That place is a gold mine of Ford goodies if you could find the owners and make a deal. That 53-54 model flat bed was great.
Very awesome well done thank you for your hard work, more please
the old Honda frame is worth a few bucks, I hope you carry protection with you while exploring.
02:02 That dentside Ford looks cool. Its my favorite Ford pickup truck model. I wish I lived in America just so that I can buy one. Here in Europe they were never imported...
Great video. Sure is fun to go exploring with you.
Beautiful lake. Would be a nice place to buold a cabin!
It's fun looking around old places.
Cool video! Thanks.
Down by that lake, wow what a view
Really enjoy the exploring videos. The old mine in the mountains when you drove out to in that step side dodge was cool. How bout including some of the drive to the locations?
Cool video. Some of those vehicles could be fixed and running again...
Very very nice
The old Ford was neat. Looks like it was sold new in Valley City North Dakota. Would be nice to know the history on it
@rickscott6694 My bet would be another one that migrated during the pipeline build.
Pretty cool, thanks for sharing!
Loved it. More please
Very cool dig these exploring adventures. Thanks for sharing.
Time to get the old dent side and drag it home for the collection!
I also have to wonder if that old place could be bought.
Very cool old homestead or camp. These places make me wonder what could have happened to them to just walk away from it all?
"Being Alaskan" I come across a lot of stuff like this sometimes you don't want to know why they left!
Got to do a “will it run” on the old ford duelly!
28:15 AMC Hornet.
Thanks for the tour!
🤠👍
The lake was beautiful, as was the scenery surrounding it. But as you said, there appears to be rather large population of beavers somewhere lol
Thanks for the tour. You can't place's like that down here in the lower 48 any more.
👍
The green p.o.s. looks like AMC. Maybe a gremlin
The green smash car was some sort of AMC, they had those flip out door handles and there is an "A" on the back of the car, part of the AMC emblem.
Really cool finds, seems like a desolate film setting.
There use to be an old house up the road that looked like you could move right in. Cook stove in the kitchen. Also surgar and tea in the cupboard. Wasnt messy at all. Stayed like that for years and then someone went in there and destroyed it.
I know you are going back to take that big Ford.
Hi Alaskan. WoW, you should try to salvage som of the vehicles. 👍✌️
Yeah Brother, Thanks for the Alaskan outback tour. If only this stuff could talk! The crushed car at about 28:15 I believe is a 70's AMC Hornet. I wonder if any of the people that owned and used this stuff are still alive somewhere and think about the day they left it behind and never came back for it. We'll probably never know. Thanks for the cool vid Brother!
Pretty cool adventure 👍 👍 👍 👍
I think you need to find the proper way to get permission to take all them Ford's home with you
Yes he should.
Yeah, those axles would help complete some of his other bumpside projects,or parts at least.
Property like that would be perfect cover for some extravagant doomsday bunker. You just cant buy that quality of distressed camouflage.
i would love to see that flatbed ford saved
My buttcheeks are numb. I started your video on the shit*er and thanks to your captivating content, it kept me glued. Keep it up brotha, love the content. See ya before ya know it.
that old ford needs your saving! owner is def long gone
Your content never fails to amaze me. If you arent carrying a gun I'd recommend one.. I've had my fair share of bear encounters when exploring abandoned remote goldmines in interior ak
My guess on the car is an AMC Concord the VIN looks to be A3A057E... so 1973 AMC Automatic 3 speed Concord 4 door.
F 100 cab is better than some of yours. Any hope of finding previous owner? Purchase?
look like the front and rear end off that ford highboy along with the t24 transfer case sweet nice seat for ethel and front clip lol I seen you need drive lines for that 70 highboy i bet theirs a set for in in that pick up bed
your okay my man. ive watched a lot of exploration vids and most make a guy sea sick. but you do a fine job. plus you got a good sence of humor and most importantly "respect". something that is becoming suprisingly difficult to find today. great video and god bless from north idaho.
Get that old ford wrecker and save those old trucks son. !!
Such a shame its rotting away when it can be taken and used..hoepfully people will use what they can there no one will miss it and plenty can use it. You will NEVER change my mind in taking this stuff.
That's a lot of plunder 👍👍🇺🇸
Diggin that dentside interior color !
Looks like Bear country to me
Great video... looks like this place was probably in business until the mid 80s?
quite the story of that old place a lot of signs of some kind of campground more snow mobiles than boats beautiful lake thanks for sharing
in the white bumpside bed were those hi-boy parts ?
I just know your gonna tow out that truck along with the transfer case and 3 speed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you get the VIN from one of the trucks, can you get the owners name from the DMV? In Ontario, we can get a package with the current and former owners names, no addresses though.
Pretty cool to see a truck from my state on your channel 😂
Geen one is an AMC Hornet
That’s square body is asking to be drug home
hi from australia..... so what happens to places like this..can you buy places like this..do you have to find the owners to purchase or is there other ways of purchasing...just always wondered
Looks like it traded hands a few times. Could have a 80 akcer or more may have sold in 2 or more pieces. Could still be owned
I couldn't leave without taking that old Ford lol
Maybe save the fifty four ford flatbed.... lot of good metal yet... but not a easy project.... of course that never has stopped you yet
12:57 Amway is carpet cleaner
«Wrong Turn VIII • The Alaskan Cruel Massacre in Taiga»☺1☺☺☺☺
My guess is that it was someone’s home. With the old square body having an old service sticker from Oklahoma, I’d venture to guess that the person that owns the place came up there to work the Pipeline.
Great video please make more these exploring videos also what Camera are you using ?
Filming with an iPhone X
Cant go wrong with an iphone
I've personally owned a few "extra dent sides" myself!
I bet it was a pipeliners place. Lot of Okies and Texans went up there then.... Some stayed most went home.
Do you pack heat when exploring the Alaskan woods?
So are you gonna go back and get the ford and gm pickup and get the good doors and if nothing else get all the carbureators for future project parts lol
This could have been a 1960's commune.
Watching this with airpods in. Mosquitos are irritating the fuck outta me!😂😂😂
The green car looked like an AMC hornet ?
Watching your show for a while, a Alaskan myself nobody gives a crap dude just take those parts and trucks they're just going to rot or get crushed by somebody buys that property!
intriguing indeed - wondering what happened to this place - no more visitors, no trading post business any more ? Desolate fate......
Good video!
green smashed AMC hornet70s
Can you tell me where this is? Some land by a lake looks good to me!
How much would it cost to rescue those old trucks?
Thanks, nice walk about. looking at the shoes you had on I have to ask, do you not have rattlesnakes up there? I live in north central Florida and it's breading time here. The males are on the move .
Snakes don't like -40f winters.
What about some gold prospecting videos
Amc Hornet 258 six. Same as jeep
i assume you 'carry' whilst you explore...and will that truck be there next time? or some parts 'missing'?
