I'm absolutely amazed that Trevor has not yet corrected Brian on what a fortified wine is (i.e. it's not a condensed wine, it's normal wine that has additional alcohol added to it, usually un-aged grape spirit, at some point in the fermentation process).
My home bar is currently Bullet bourbon, Tanqueray, Appelton, home spiced Brugal rum, Bacardi, Laphroaig 10 year, E&J VSOP, di Amore amaretto, Goldschläger, Martini sweet and dry vermouth, Vieux Carré absinthe, Créme Yvette, Luxardo, Stoli elite, Angostura aromatic and orange bitters, Peychaud's bitters, homemade grenadine, homemade sweet lime, homemade sweet orange and homemade sour. For wines, I've got 6 different reds, 5 different whites, 4 different sake (usually more) and 2 ports. I am not really a beer drinker but I keep Blue Moon and Guinness on hand. If I know an IPA lover is coming I'll go buy some Tröegs (usually Perpetual). Light beer? They can bring their own or drink piss. For Ciders I always have Magners and/or Angry Orchard crisp. I also have a Jack's Hard Pear at the moment. I am a country club bartender that got spoiled from having a LOT of specialty liquors and liqueurs to work with. Now, I can't help but keep a rather unique stock for myself, as well. I am sorry to anyone who is overwhelmed when I offer to make you a drink.

"They can bring their own or drink piss." Haha, that's great! I'm an IPA lover who's currently building my home bar, one bottle o' gin at a time... Thank you for sharing.
brianliveshere You're welcome. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Here are some of my own tips: Buy product in the price range that you will drink regularly. Having expensive show-off items will do nothing but leave your bar unused for prolonged periods of time. If you know a special event is coming up, then go buy one or two luxury brands that you are in the mood. Family gatherings and holidays are when I buy top shelf scotch and gin, as well as my yearly bottle of mid-range tequila (since I usually can't stand the stuff). Also, invest in some decent glassware. Pint, Rocks, cocktail coup and generic wine, at the least. If you don't want to half-fill a pint for Collins drinks, then get some highballs, Collins or zombie glasses as well.
Try Redemption instead of Bulleit, their high rye is great. Tanqeray is classic but boring and overpriced, talk to your local wine shop employees about replacements (there are many). Bacardi is trash replace it with Barbancourt from Hati, it's better in every way and usually the same price or cheaper. Most people can't tell the difference between vermouth's but try the entire Dolin line and also if you want to get fancy Cocchi di Torino sweet vermouth. Blue Moon and Guinness are technically beer but if you're not a beer guy its best to chat with your local beer seller about what to keep on hand. I like that your making so much at home, props to you.
Also I suggest you do get some things like blue curacao, and grenadine. I suggest these because they are good for layering, colour, sweetening. Also you should use the tonic water to make glow in the dark drinks, just get a black-light.
I find it weird American's don't drink Gin and Tonic as much as us British. It's a staple here, has been for years and is getting even more popular. Tanqueray and (decent) tonic is the actual bomb.
@Derpy McDerpinstein Don't be an ignorant bellend. There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world and trust me, Christians are responsible for far far more death and destruction. Anyway, weren't we talking about gin? Save your un-necessesary bigotry for your next Trump Rally Wankathon.
Best Martini -- 3 to 1 Boodle's and N-P Original Dry vermouth w/ 2 dashes of Regan's #6 orange bitters. Stir 'til the outside of the mixer freezes. Great choice on the Rum! You need a 6th bottle. St. Remy French Brandy. XO is $20 (in NC) and better overall than any of the Big 4 VS Cognacs at $32. I've replaced Bourbon with Brandy in my liquor cabinent... and keep Irish or Scotch for my Whisk(e)y. (Switched to Rye years ago.) Brandy is very versatile. I think too many people have suffered Christian Brothers (or expensive Cognac) for it to get its due. (Unless you're in Cali., where there are good local small brandy houses.)
3 0z barrel proof rye to 2 oz luxardo cherry vermouth, 2 dashes of aromatic one dash of orange. Serve with homemade brandied cherries and on teaspoon of grenadine and you are welcome!

Jesse Hughes The 5 bottles are “hard liqour”, with a high alcohol content, and therefore presumably heavily taxed, making them expensive compared to the other stuff.
It's because the five spirits: vodka, gin, whisky, rum and tequila are what make up "the well" in just about any bar. Nearly every cocktail is based on one of these. The other bottles on the table are things like vermouth and bitters which are used to flavor those five.
My 5-Bottle Cocktailbar consists of Roku Gin, Russian standard gold, martini extra dry and rosso, Angostura, Appleton 12, Plantation OFTD, Jack Daniels single barrel. And for neat consumption only: Buffalo Trace, Highland Park 12, Bowmore 12, Suntory Toki, anjd Plantation Barbados XO.

Everyday thousands of hard working bar loving bartenders have to go to bed sober. These brave men and woman who give there lives for the intoxication of the greater good are often forgotten. With just 5 European euros or 6 American dollars a week you can save these poor hard working people against the horrors of being sober. The guild of the united bartender federation thanks you for reading this message. May your gods bless your harvest.
I now want to go out, buy a small bottle of Canada Dry Tonic Water, and drink it to see if it's terrible. I've never, to the best of my knowledge, had tonic.
Wrong, all vodka are not just two types grain or potato! Honey - barrhill, pineapple - hawaiian brands, grape - swans neck or crystal head, pear - st george all purpose or hanger 1. Do more research before misinforming your viewers
You have a bartender/expert allowing for wrongful information to be spread. As someone who is a CSS (certified spirit specialist) and a bartender it's frustrating to see easily communicable information ignored. I would scratch that expert part off the your boy's title. Potato is actually quite uncommon to use in distillation of vodka, rye and wheat are the most common. Neutral grain is the general standard for vodka, potato is the misinformed idea of vodka in general. You will be hard pressed to find vodka distilled from potato in many backbars or in the well. You could even google 'wiki list of vodkas', it displays a pretty comprehensive list of vodka brands and their base.
If you're going to attempt to give the public information, make it the correct information. This is my job, this is my passion, and this is what i've spent the last four years practicing and studying, yes I'm wound tight about it. You gave 200k + laymans the wrong info that they are most likely going to parrot to other people without actually understanding what they're talking about. This is Trump's america now I guess, fuck the facts right?

Look into your state's laws. Most states permit underage drinking in the home with parental consent. No need to break any laws.
my parents wouldent let me... also the point of the comment was to show that ill watch the modern rouge no matter what they post

My collection
Reyka Icelandic Vodka
Costco London Dry Gin
Old Forrester 1920 bourbon
Exotico Reposado Tequila
Ron Matusalem Rum
I now want to go out, buy a small bottle of Canada Dry Tonic Water, and drink it to see if it's terrible. I've never, to the best of my knowledge, had tonic.
Brian, if you pin this comment,I will hit my homemade armour using a millwall tomahawk while wearing it.
"Are we lawyers now!?" I fuckin died that was so funny
Wrong, all vodka are not just two types grain or potato! Honey - barrhill, pineapple - hawaiian brands, grape - swans neck or crystal head, pear - st george all purpose or hanger 1. Do more research before misinforming your viewers
Hey man. You okay?
Erm...you didn't answer the question. You just seem awfully wound tight about this.
Here. Have one of these:
**hugs**
It's going to be okay, man. You're going to be just fine.
The description is spot on!
