This week, we’re giving away a deck of Theory11’s Blue Monarch cards to six (6) winners who sign up at gimme.scamstuff.com Find out more about Blue Monarchs here: www.scamstuff.com/products/monarch-decks Congrats to last week’s winner of the Rogues Tavern: David Breedlove!
I never had a rad uncle, only a rich Jewish uncle, a controversial political views uncle, and a few crazy estranged uncles, so Brian and Murphy really fill an empty gap in my uncle hierarchy.
After watching all theese videos, im womdering how long will it take them to finally make their own cocktail. Just imagine it, “The Rogue” or “The Modern Rogue”. Cmoooooon
I wouldn’t complain if y’all made a channel just dedicated to making different drinks. You could call it “the rogue bartender” or something along those lines. I would subscribe to that in a heartbeat
I really like that you guys really try to apply elements from previous episodes into the current ones. It helps both refresh us as an audience and really makes this channel feel like a growing experience, with each new episode adding to our competence in the various fields of a modern rogue.
I recently discovered your channel and it has quickly become one my favorites. I am especially enjoying the cocktail ones like this video. I’ve searched high and low on UA-cam and no one comes close to you guys and Trevor for informative and entertaining cocktail videos. I would love to see more!
One of my favorites, but it's been a long time since I made myself one. We have been sitting on Heering for months at my work but I have plans on making this my signature cocktail for the next few months to kill it. Turns out we also just had a rep unload a bunch of really nice mid-tier and high-tier scotches on us at about 10% off. BRAIN: If you want to try three great scotches, compare a Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask, a Macallan 12 Year Fine oak and a Laphroaig Quarter Cask. You will get the slightly salty notes from the Balvenie, the woody and grassy notes from the Macallan and the incredibly peaty smoky notes from the Laphroaig. Now, if you are looking for it, you will taste more salt in the Laphroaig (behind the smoke) then in the Balvenie. It is just more difficult because of the overwhelming about of peat smoke. How I pair them to people is by asking if they could, would they rather drink the essence of the beach, a walk in the woods or a roaring hearth. Personally, I love nothing more than getting dumped on in winter, blowing out all of my neighbors then crashing in front of my fireplace with a glass of Laphroaig.
It's amazing to me seeing them talk about scotch like it's expensive gold dust, and in the UK (especially Scotland) it's not an overly expensive or exotic drink
I can't help but comment, after all the episodes of Modern Rogue and Scam School I've seen, on the ABSOLUTE cheerfulness of Brian's laugh. I feel like 94% of the time he's just barely restraining his giddiness over the things he gets to do in each episode. It's incredible and damn near inspiring.
Regardless of the actual recipe, your show has taught me so much about mixing drinks, what goes into a product like whiskey, or just great product recommendations! Thanks for sharing all this great info! Whiskey and orange juice is a drink I can definitely get behind!
Gotta hand it to you, I'm impressed with your Audible pitch. Spot on book recommendations, and although I'm one of those book reading guys, I love me some Audible. Oh, and great drink! Definitely will try it on.
Heering is a pride of Denmark. It was used originally to create both The Blood And Sand and The Singapore Sling... The worlds most iconic Cherry Liqueur.
Daniel is rolling in his sleep. When I proposed a cocktail/whiskey crossover episode this wasn't what I had in mind. But I'll take what I can get. Love seeing Trevor back at it again!
Hello rogues I have a drink I made. 1 oz clausen pickle juice, 2 oz whiskey (bourbon) 1 ice cold beer (Miller high life is preferred) this combo is what I like to call a "Bitter boilermaker". It's actually kind of refreshing. You guys should play around with it a little bit to figure out the best bitter boilermaker.
Yeah, we tend to shoot in bulk and spread out episodes over some time so our channel isn't overloaded with too much of x type of episode at a time. Some episodes end up getting a lot of distance on them!
Monkey shoulder is a condition that the Male men obtained from shoveling barley to help keep it from molding while it was going into the melting stage. It was a reversible condition that went away. It wasn't from shoveling peat.
The thumbnail did not load on my notification, so I was very confused by the title. My first thought is that you guys were doing something with sand and Brian slashed his hand open somehow, and Brandt decided to be cheeky with the title.
Using the rules of the playlists of the three things a Modern Rogue is: Gentleman, Scoundrel and Warrior, this drink is pretty close to what the Rogue Beverage should taste like, Sweet (Gentleman), Slightly Bitter(Scoundrel) and Something Strong(Warrior).
If your all afraid of sweet drinks, then try and chill bottle of Fanta, and lightly cool a bottle of Eier likör/Advocaat(Zwarte Kip preferably), and dont cool it to much or your ending up with having to stirring it for a full minute. Then the mixing is 1/1, so the same amount of Fanta, and Advocaat. A good trick is to put a little crushed ice in it, so it keeps cool, but you dont get a great truble mixing it. Its damn sweet. but hey, its also damn Good
Wait just a goddamn second! I just realized while binging on the "Cocktails with Trever" playlist, a bunch of them are all recorded on the same day! (Martini, Manhattan and Old Fashioned), (Whiskey Sour, Vieux Carre, Mai Tai), (Caipirinha, Spicy Texas Margarita, Negroni, Aviation), (Jello Shot, Blazing Saddles, Blood and Sand) I've caught onto your little game! Also, I think I caught a Cherry Herring once. It was flopping around so much, I needed to repair my boat.
If you watch through most of our back catalog you'll notice pretty much every episode has at least one other paired with it that was filmed on the same day!
Brian: I’m gonna go on the beach and slice my veins and there will be blood on the sand. Jason: that was a dark note, he’s in weird spot. We’re in the center of Texas, there is no beach
He got it wrong. Cow Testicles and Maggots would be Malort and lemon juice with Bailey's on the rocks. The acidic lemon juice curddles the Bailey's and the Malort is like trashcan water.
The moment you said -where am I getting the "bitter" from? I was like ANTICA. Woooohooo. I drink that vermouth straight up all the lime. Cheers to my previous hometown of Austin
Yeah, picking locks. You guys are the best. I discovered your channel a couple of months ago. You are both such great presenters, your style is very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for doing what you do!
You should check out some of our publicly available First Pass Edits, you can see just exactly how unscripted but structured the filming process is for these episodes. Ghost hunting ep: ua-cam.com/video/OSXQqh6KPEU/v-deo.html Credit card skimmers ep: ua-cam.com/video/ixiNtTjnUdA/v-deo.html
That Funko Chucky just chilling on the bar XD 2:30 did Trever mispronounce Islay?? Master Whittington will be so displeased. He's gonna smack Trever upside the head with his medallion Slaughterhouse Five is such a cool book. I never finished it but the parts I read were baller. Whenever a friend of mine loses a relative or a friend I always respond to them with a quote from Slaughterhouse Five (the one about life being like a mountain range)

Congrats to last week’s winner of the Rogues Tavern: David Breedlove!
I think the description is wrong
I think a episode about shaving with straight razor would be enjoyable
My asshole is ready
Please get Daniel or Rex to yell at Trever for mispronouncing Islay, it's "Eye-Luh" not "Eye-Lay" damnit
A Penguin
Yeah, just because both have a "B/S" name, I'd assume it's a great example of _brain fart._
Murphy and Shwood are our collective rad uncle. You know, the one that's the living embodiment of 'Do as I say, not as I do.'
I never had a rad uncle, only a rich Jewish uncle, a controversial political views uncle, and a few crazy estranged uncles, so Brian and Murphy really fill an empty gap in my uncle hierarchy.
Xavier H. Knowing that makes me happy. *nods in approval*
Gay uncle, you need the gay uncle.
Dash Costello why though
I always thought that was Captain Jack Sparrow.
Ah he found out about the pruno
I wonder if he was sorely disappointed, and if we will find out in the outtakes.
"You guys need to be supervised" the truest line I've heard in this show ever, that's why I love it
After watching all theese videos, im womdering how long will it take them to finally make their own cocktail. Just imagine it, “The Rogue” or “The Modern Rogue”. Cmoooooon
A shot of Fireball followed up by an actual fireball
"The Modern Rogue" is passing around a vodka bottle, then going to shotgun a beer and failing horribly.
Modern rouge you mean
Derek Long you HAVE to face it downwards, or else it’s just some party trick
Hawk_ Eye Nono that’s the French version. True story, Rouge is rogue in French. No, don’t look it up, it’s true
New cocktail names for Trevor; hunter's brew, honeyed words, knight's oath, and pillow talk.
@Sheldon Robertson just seeing this for the first time today, now we have to get trevor to actually make these to have brian and jason try them.
I wouldn’t complain if y’all made a channel just dedicated to making different drinks. You could call it “the rogue bartender” or something along those lines. I would subscribe to that in a heartbeat
Zachary.Hutchinson Rouge bartender
I really like that you guys really try to apply elements from previous episodes into the current ones. It helps both refresh us as an audience and really makes this channel feel like a growing experience, with each new episode adding to our competence in the various fields of a modern rogue.
do the pruno again with trevor maybe this time its safe :D
XD
"Don't ever try that again, you guys need to be supervised"
I bet it's _really_ confusing when your rouge goes rogue.
makes me a little red in the face i must admit......
shmander 😅😅😅 BA-DUM-TISS!
Better that than when your Rogue goes rouge.
@@shmander you get rouge when you get rogue.... Like if you were in a famous parisian Moulin ....
Rouge red?
Revisit the pruno episode with Trevor!! That would be amazing
Hmmmmm. Not a bad idea.
Yes please do this I would like to see how it would turn out.
A cow testicles and maggots please.. man that was good. The stone face while he said the ingredients.. killed me.
I couldn't understand what his response was. What was it?
same, trever said shot of (something) and i can't tell what it is...
Rumple minze is peppermint schnapps, a shot of rumple minze is like eating 200 candy canes at the same time.
and it is amazing. It's like being punched in the face by a giant candy cane.
@@thegingerlumberjack sounds like I need to have a few bottles on standby.
I recently discovered your channel and it has quickly become one my favorites. I am especially enjoying the cocktail ones like this video. I’ve searched high and low on UA-cam and no one comes close to you guys and Trevor for informative and entertaining cocktail videos. I would love to see more!
Thanks so much! Glad you're liking them. We'll keep them coming.
One of my favorites, but it's been a long time since I made myself one.

As far as i know the monkey shoulder comes from turning the malt, not digging the peat. Maybe its both...
Now that, right up to the title card, was a charming intro.
Rahg-wuh. Henceforth, the Modern Rahg-wuh.
I so enjoy learning these drinks. Trever does a great job of explaining and making it look so easy.
Thomas Myers Yeah, he’s a great asset for the team.
9:03
Brian: "It's very much a cocktail"
Oh thank you, I couldn't tell
ಠ_ಠ you know I meant “it isn’t overpowered by the scotch.”
Thanks, man. I know I’m a bit of a chucklehead, but MR really is like living a lifelong fantasy for me.
Regardless of the actual recipe, your show has taught me so much about mixing drinks, what goes into a product like whiskey, or just great product recommendations! Thanks for sharing all this great info! Whiskey and orange juice is a drink I can definitely get behind!
Seeing “Bush”wood play down to everyone while he’s a Level One Whisk[e]y Sommelier. Classy Bush. Classy.
OH GOD the Whiskey Vault has gotten to Trever haha
XRarehunterX but he did pronounce “Islay” wrong...
The Modern Rouge is something very different, trust me. The hosts are Nicole Kidman and Kylie Minogue, with returning guest Ozzy Osbourne.
Trevor always sounds like a disappointed father whenever the pruno is brought up
I love this cocktail. Props to Trever for using Heering instead of Luxardo for the cherry component.
Also, nice callback to the Pruno episode lol.
Learned about Monkey Shoulder from this episode and since then I’ve found that it’s the only whiskey I can drink without feeling like death
Watching these videos makes me feel like more of a gentleman when I'm ordering drinks or cooking steaks etc thanks guys
Can we just have a week of Trevor making drinks ?
Gotta hand it to you, I'm impressed with your Audible pitch. Spot on book recommendations, and although I'm one of those book reading guys, I love me some Audible. Oh, and great drink! Definitely will try it on.
Thanks, man!
Heering is a pride of Denmark. It was used originally to create both The Blood And Sand and The Singapore Sling... The worlds most iconic Cherry Liqueur.

*This was shot in September
Now their facial hair, or lack thereof, makes sense. Haha
Yeah, we tend to shoot in bulk and spread out episodes over some time so our channel isn't overloaded with too much of x type of episode at a time. Some episodes end up getting a lot of distance on them!
Brandt Hughes Ohh, yeah that makes a lot of sense.. thanks!!
You guys deserve way more subscribers, the quality of your videos are amazing!!
Correction: Single malt is still blended to ensure consistency, but it's all from the same distillery.
I think part of the blame for the Rouge vs Rogue thing comes from Rouge the bat from the Sonic the Hedgehog Universe
Monkey shoulder is a condition that the Male men obtained from shoveling barley to help keep it from molding while it was going into the melting stage. It was a reversible condition that went away. It wasn't from shoveling peat.
Its so different watching this after watching Brandt's livestream edit...
I like it!
The thumbnail did not load on my notification, so I was very confused by the title. My first thought is that you guys were doing something with sand and Brian slashed his hand open somehow, and Brandt decided to be cheeky with the title.
that's a great bar and the drinks were amazing.
If you are a seasoned Scotch drinker, try it with a peaty whisky. The flavors not for the timid but it grows on you like fungus on old sweat socks.
Y’all looking good and clean cut in the intro.very nice.
Couple seasons ago, this would have really fired up Game of Thrones fans.
Probably my favorite UA-cam channel...
Mine too!
I'd be interested in seeing a Modern "Rouge" episode on shaving. like legit straight blade razor stuff.
Good call. Someone else suggested that, too. I think it would be a fun episode.
When I saw this in my subscription feed I said “YESSSS TREVOR” out loud
Shwood: I’m gonna go to the beach and slice my veins - exactly my mood now
Another fantastic episode, I hope you guys can have an episode with Trevor, Daniel, and Rex
So, after doing some digging, I may have figured out the "undisclosed bar". I won't say the name, but it's a very cleverly hidden place.
Well put!
Nobody: Brian: I’m gonna go on the beach and slice my veins and there will be blood on the sand.

This episode of the modern rogue is brought to me by the notification bell!
I oddly love the sponsors.

Neat! It's really awesome this is everyone's full-time job now. Gotta love that Patreon!
Whoa. Slow down there. While the Patreon is great, it's not doing *that* well. :)
Almost thought the title read “Blood and Thunder” like they were going to cover Mastodon
Rusty Nail is an amazing cocktail that I would never make with anything but Scotch.
WE NEED MORE TREVER GUYS. GET ON ITTT
You guys deserve way more subs. You're so awesome
help us spread the word!
Whole time I just kept thinking this is the drink of house Targaryen. A " Blood and Sand " for the house of " Fire and Blood. "
"Screwing it up is easy. Making it right is also easy."
As a Scot hearing the bartender name those whiskys was quite something
Do Daniel and Rex know you're talking to _other people_ about whisky?
Shhhh
As a Speyside (blended) Scotch, Monkey Shoulder doesn't have much of the earthy, smokey notes that they were talking about.
The shirt Trevor was wearing is friggin' sweet!
It's the clown from the movie 'It', for anyone wondering.
Cool little detail, the magnets wrote about the Modern Rogue's Patreon xD
“This is cherry” part sent me
I'm only 16 so this channel better still be a thing in 5 years when I can try this stuff
The moment you said -where am I getting the "bitter" from? I was like ANTICA. Woooohooo. I drink that vermouth straight up all the lime. Cheers to my previous hometown of Austin
4:10 WOAH, stop right there... that's where reece keeps the swedish fish
Make a Blood and Sand with Laphroaig!!!
I'm over here with about a gallon of scotch from christmas gifts...time to make some blood and sand!
I love that he made a call back to your pruno episode haha
Also the subliminal message in of "patreon modern rouge" behind Jason in magnets at 9:56.
Next Week: how to make a Pangalactic Gargleblaster
I love your videos so much. You guys should do an episode on picking, I think it could be pretty cool.
Thanks! You mean on picking locks? Or like . . . a banjo episode?
Yeah, picking locks. You guys are the best. I discovered your channel a couple of months ago. You are both such great presenters, your style is very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for doing what you do!
I like the dude with the green shirt's sense of humor
Oh, Brian's been working out!
Modern Rogwah is my favorite UA-cam show.
Ah blood and sand. Sounds like my last vacation
It's time to update my "drinks I need to try before I die" list.
That “rogwa” pronunciation at the beginning was absolutely helpful and Justin’s a dummy head
I absolutely love these guys :) great videos, great guests!
thanks!
You guys should make a video noting the differences in the flavors of drink when using lower quality, and high quality ingredients.
blood and sand sounds like a beach horror slasher movie.
Go to the Wizard Academy and make Daniel one of these with some Macallan M
I love how brian is wearing his own t shirt
8:53 Trevor is clearly made uneasy by Brian's hand talking
Trevor said "Shot of Rumple Mintz" it's Schnapps Liqueur
Man i wish i could get my floppy disc repaired.
W. F. Almost like there's a company for that. Hmm.
Finally Trevor's back
This video is posted on my 21st birthday, it's a sign. Gonna go make this now
I always found it strange how they talk like they’re having a natural conversation, but it’s all scripted. Love it though
It's actually not scripted. Not really. We do multiple takes where we refine, but there's no script.
Jason Murphy great answer! i’ve been wondering in a few if they were scripted but you both act so off-the-cuff i can’t tell. love your vids!
You should check out some of our publicly available First Pass Edits, you can see just exactly how unscripted but structured the filming process is for these episodes.

Omg brian talking bout his idea of a fun beach vacation
That Funko Chucky just chilling on the bar XD
2:30 did Trever mispronounce Islay?? Master Whittington will be so displeased. He's gonna smack Trever upside the head with his medallion
Slaughterhouse Five is such a cool book. I never finished it but the parts I read were baller. Whenever a friend of mine loses a relative or a friend I always respond to them with a quote from Slaughterhouse Five (the one about life being like a mountain range)
This show gives me something to live for XD. Fucking love this show!!
Trevor!! I missed you!! And please make the iron price
