    Very nice trick about using the camera "platform" as reference for level flight. I changed my pitch configuration in iNav accordingly and will test it later today (weather permitting). More coming... and thanks again.

    Fantastic tips, Lee! Thanks a lot! 😃
    I can't wait to build my first wing with iNav!

      Once you have tried it you'll end up putting it on all sorts of fixed wing! :)

      @@Painless360 I bet! 😃
      You know, a few years back Samm Sheperd (R.I.P.) made a rc airplane with a chainsaw motor. That's a project I want to make with my father! And to tell the truth, my father wants it more than me. 😂
      And that one is going to have iNav! No doubt about it! 😊

    Thax for the video and I cann't wait for my f35 fc to arrive so I can put it in my opterra. This will be my first FC model and I hope it turns out great.

    Really informative series! Thanks for that. I am considering building a new wing. Thinking about the caipi 2. Any reason you went for the Matek FC instead of the Furious F35 for your caipi?

      I'd already used the other FC in a build and there isn't much point in using the same kit over and over in tutorials.. Happy flying!

      Painless360 thanks! Would it be a good choice? I love the ease of build and mostly solder free Connection! Keep up these awesome video’s!

    Hello! Can you provide flight controller settings(dump) on your wing? I collected about a wing like yours with the same flight controller.

    Hi
    Off topic question
    My wing is SO tail heavy , even with a 2200mah 3s and a 35gm weight it barely levels on the CG !!
    Any suggestions or recommendations to fix that ?
    Thanks

      How odd, mine was spot on with the battery and FPV gear in it..

    Hello Painless360
    I had my Orbit with Matek 411 Wing and Inav 2.0 and flyes wonderfull using a Skylark Tyny GPS ( NMEA sat). Also I install two matek 411 in a Skywalker and Phanton fx61. But it is impossible to make RTH work OK .
    I am using a Ublox Neo M8N and a Beitian BN 880. Both behave the same, doing a "S " patern flying away.
    I had read every Inav Wiki but no way to make it work. (I also copy the Inav setup from Orbit to the other wings and have no success using RTH) I also change protocol to Ublox7 , change the mag alignment but No Way...
    I had used Omnibus Betaflight F4 Flight Controller with no issue using the same Ublox GPS...
    Any Idea what I am doing wrong. Is the Matek 411 uncompatible whit Ublox gps?

      Could be a few things. The process that always works for me is covered in the video series. Hope it helps..

    I had an issue with losing my osd if I used the newest file with my f411 wing I think it was. It's kind of frustrating 1st it demanded to get the newest configurator then it wouldnt handle an older version when switching back arrrgghh
    Oh well still like it better than spektrum and horizon where they spoon feed thier own particularly highly stylized systems at an inflated price
    Very glad I made the move to this side- wonder about all the fantastic brands JR futaba all the ones I forget
    So many ways to skin that cat
    Woah I'm fiesty this morning
    Also with horizon- thier models fly real well IF you get a good one. I am officially the "unlucky helicopter guy"
    Bought 2 helis- 1 dead rx- and they want $80 for a rx! - other model 2 maidens lost tail rotor spun down on 3rd or 4th flight and returned twice waiting on the 3rd
    They send me lots of free replacements cant much complain but really just want to FLY A GOOD MODEL out of the box.
    I was too lazy to learn the ropes myself on helis they make it easy IF you get a model that flies. They grind out stuff with no qc and just replace the garbage. I guess?
    I should have studied and built my own with that precious gyro stabilization that saves my skin at every turn. (trying to fly full acro not there yet also not into 3d way more relaxed like choreography to my old rock hits) But like when I got into quads with that old 220 wizard- gotta start somewhere right?
    Your channels rocks has helped me out of countless jams

    why are you not moving the pushrods to level the control surfaces? if you have to setup the midpoints to get things straight, then your hardware is not setup right :D

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  5 років тому +1

      That isn't the case, many times subtrim is needed to get the arms at 90 degrees. Please see original setup video and simple and complex plane setup videos that cover mechanical setup but it's not how you then add that subtrim back with iNav.. ;)

    • @WX4CB
      @WX4CB 5 років тому

      @@Painless360 i realise that, but my point was that if the arms aren't at 90 degrees (or at most 1 tooth away) then you need to move them manually so they are.and then adjust the pushrods to get the reflex you need. then trim it out. at least that's the way i was taught to setup my wings

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  5 років тому +2

      Yep. INav will fly a poorly setup plane ok but will fly a mechanically well setup plane great.. Its not a replacement for good practice in your fixed wing setup. But does mean that you trim servos differently after installing most flight controllers.. I always recommend flying a model manually first before installing a flight controller so that the setup is solid. Happy flying!
