    Had to laugh. I wish you made this about 2 months ago. I have my board upside down & rotated by 270 degrees. It took me about 5 flights to realise to get level flight that adjusting pitch was not helping. Once learnt never forgotten.

      I'm so glad you've continued with your iNav series, it's great to have a place to send people when they want to setup a wing with iNav. Looking forward to see how your Capi 2 build is going.

      It'll be very different to this. Omnibus AIO V2.1 F4 board with a full sized M8N GPS and a few tricks for better iNav builds too (use of PDB to help with power around the model and shielded cable runs etc). Let me know if there are any tips from your experience..

      I'm putting together a feedback post for the TBS Lounge on FB. I completed 100 flights with my Capi 2 and wanted to give them some feedback on the good and bad points on the Wing.
      Good call on using the full sized M8N, I've been using the mini one (M8N) in my build and it takes ages to get a fix, I've got a BN-880 which I'll be switching over to at some point.
      VTX install, don't forget to put some holes in the sticker covering VTX bay in the wing. It will cause some air to be pulled down into the bay as the cable run exits out on the top of the wing which is low pressure.
      I've also put some cooling holes under bay where the ESC sits, just small slits to get a bit of extra airflow over the ESC.
      I've put two WS2812B boards on the model, one on the leading edge, and one at the rear. Helps to make the model more visible.
      Run some tape along the bottom edge of the winglets, they get a right hammering, and having something to help them slide a bit better stops them getting too badly abused.
      I've made a USB extender cable, a bit like the one that used to come with the Diatone quadcopters, so I don't put too much pressure on the USB port. It's a bit tight when you've got the board in the bay on the wing.
      I'm hoping to use the Matek wing board in my next Capi2 build.
      Hope that helps a little ! Good luck :-)

    Nice video! Will the hatch magnets screw with your GPS module being that close?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 років тому

      Shouldn’t do, the only thing that it will actually affect is the magnetometer and I’m not using that as it is a fixed wing..

    Thank you so much for yor videos.
    I want to ask you one question regarding the MAG. You are not using it in inav so, is there any real benefit from using it? if GPS can replace the main MAG function then why use it?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 років тому

      The mag shows the direction of travel and as a plane is normally flying forwards you can do without this as the model knows what direction it's pointing in by looking at where is was a moment ago and where it is now. Mags can get a lot of interference so are best disabled unless you intend to fly in high winds where the model will appear to fly 'backwards' and confuse the GPS calculations..

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 років тому

      You could use that larger receiver, but it appears a little wasteful and it’s a lot larger to mount inside the canopy as well. Best of luck with your build!

    I seem to have a problem, When I move the aileron stick, I get proper movement, but when I pull back, nothing. No elevator (pitch) Also, in the motors tab I see four bars moving up and down in unison as I move the aileron stick, but nothing moving in pitch. Throttle works when the master is raised, but no throttle from Tx, nor any bars moving in motors tab. No mixing on Taranis either, standard setup like you have AETR Any suggestions? Something I should check? Any advice would be helpful. Thnx Ted

      @@Painless360 Hello again, I think I have found my problem with the inability to reverse the servos to get proper movement in iNav 2.2. My servos seem to be in a flipped position causing this problem. I just need to plug them into opposite connections. My question to you is, I know it is best to not do any mixing in Taranis, and let the flight controller do it, but If, lets say your pitch movement on your servos was opposite, would it muck up the FC's ability to properly fly the craft? Maybe in return to home? Does the FC basically fly in level flight using the Gyros, and the reversed input direction of pitch not matter?
      Thank you in advance.

    Hey man, these are really helpful videos. I have my F-35 and following your videos to transform a Parrot Disco into a more reliable FPV fixed wing. I do not like that latency on the video feed. BUT one of my servos is not working. I'm using an external BEC from a BLHELI ESC 30 A BEC 5V/1A. Could this be the issue? Do I need to get a bigger ESC regarding amperage? Or do I need to solder the FC pads to use internal BEC 5V/3A? Thanks in advance!

      The fact that one of the servers is going to the end position makes it sound like its not plugged in to right output or you haven't got the right model type selected in the INav setup. As I couldn't see tha screen I don't know. Hopefully the rest of the inav series will help you..

      There are lots of choice for flight controllers that will work with that software. I've used a couple on the channel, check out the playlist. In theory, it shouldn't matter about the size of the craft that you're adding it to. Best of luck!

  • @fredlef100

    Hi - I'm not sure I am showing a problem. I have my F35 installed identical to yours. After setting the board orientation to 270 as shown the image on the screen is 180 degrees off - I think. In other words I have the model facing away from me towards the computer but it shows in the image of the model that FRONT is facing towards me instead of BACK. In your video at about 6:44 it appears to show the normal orientation - (I see FRONT in this situation). But flight appears to be proper - when I pitch down FRONT goes down, bank to the right it banks to the right. It is just disorienting seeing it backwards.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 років тому

      The orientation of the model is taking account the heading (if you're using the compass), you're only looking for the relative moment. i.e. nose up down, roll right way etc..

    • @fredlef100
      @fredlef100 6 років тому

      After clicking on the reset z axis button the orientation appeared correctly. Now to tackle twitchy servo issue and beeping motor :)

    Do you have any details about connecting a Spektrum receiver to the F-35? I bought the same receiver they show in the manual (SPM4649T) and wired it just as shown. It binds properly but I can't get the channels to move properly in the receiver page. The bars start all at the left then jump left and right erratically when I move the sticks. not following the stick movements. I set the ports as shown in the manual, UART3 set to serial RX and UART6 set to Smartport, and in the configuration page I have the receiver type set as Serial-based receiver (Speksat, SBUS, SUMD) and Spektrum1024. I haven't found anything more than the one diagram in the manual or on the Furious website.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 років тому

      Sorry, I’ve not tried it. The only information I’ve got is the stuff that’s in the manual. Best of luck

    • @dansmith6173
      @dansmith6173 6 років тому

      In case anyone else comes across this problem, I contacted FuriousFPV about it. They looked into it and discovered there is an error in the manual. The Spektrum SPM4649T serial receiver should be connected to the M-RX port not the F-RX as shown in the manual. Moving to this port and selecting UART-5 corrected the issue and everything works correctly.

    I have the furious f-35 setup in a Volantex Ranger 1600. I have everything installed, receiver works, sensors calibrated. In the mixer i have the motor/esc on M1. Elevator/stabilized pitch on S3. Right Aileron / stabilized roll on S5. Left aileron/stabilized roll on S4. Rudder/stabilized yaw on S6. My problem is the ailerons don't work at all and I know the servos are good. The elevator works. When I give it right or left airleon the rudder moves???? When I give it rudder nothing happens. When I go into Inav under receiver when I move rudder it shows channel 6 moving between 1000 to 2000 as expected. But the bar graph for yaw doesn't move? When I move the aileron channel 5 moves and the yaw graph moves?? Totally confused. Anyone can help ? Thanks in advance.

      @@Painless360 I went through your other videos for inav still can't get it to work. If I setup the qx7 TAER and use channel 2 for aileron all the mappings in inav work. But the servo connections on the f-35 servo 2(m2) is for a 2nd motor so I don't use those pins. I then skip pins for m2 and give channel 3 to elevator, channel 4 and channel 5 to left and right ailerons channel 6 to rudder as it is shown in the f-35 manual. Once I do that all the mappings in inav goes back to my original problem with the right stick left to right controls the yaw?? I tried mappings like this AETR1234 but inav doesn't save it and goes back to default. Should I try arduplane instead?
