Man Justin I can't stop giving your channel and videos props! (no pun intended) im super new to the RC world, as a matter of fact I'm presently waiting for my first drone kit "tinyhawk II freestyle" that will be here this coming Friday..so stoked bro! and it's all from your awesome reviews and tutorials on the Emax tiny hawk II freestyle. Looking forward to all your super informative videos, keep up the good work!
Isopropyl Alcohol allows you to easily remove hot glue. It doesn't melt or dissolve the glue but somehow gets in underneath the hot glues contact area and allows you to just pull the glue off (Usually in one single piece).
another tip for cutting foam is to use a pencil soldering iron. Try it on a styro cup and notice you never need to touch the foam. It also seals the foam and double stiky tape like this way.
Drone Camps RC I was using a $16 wolfwhoop camera/transmitter (200mw) and I was surprised how far I went. I used a 14dbi patch and amoway rhcp circular polarized antenna on my ground station and a 2W boosted 2.4ghz radio signal.
I am interested to know what you would recommend, an everyday fpv plane you can fly out of your yard and take on trips. Good at slow flying without the need for flight controllers etc
Wonderful, thanks. I bought the s800 and I've regretted it early on in the build. No space!! Cg very hard to achieve! But she flies well, 60 minutes plus with 1000kv. Definitely going to upgrade to the zod. Love the wing removing.
Drone Camps RC pleasure watching Justin, been following you for a long time, always great honest and detailed reviews, keep up the great work brother 👍
Thanks for the video and mentioning the differences between this and the S800. I was leaning towards the s800 at first but now I shall re-think things. :)
Yeah this one is everything the S800 wants to be. People are wishing the S800 was detachable wings so they are doing it but not without crazy mods. Servos in the center of the wing is really smart. Plus its wide width wing make it easier to fly and it flys way slower than the S800 on landings. Glides amazing.
Since a lot of the products used for this FPV long range wing have been discontinued, can you do an update on their replacements? Also can you show how to install, connect and program such a setup? I am personally new to long range and to FPV and very interested in setting one up like the one you did but have no experience do you have any other links you can suggest for their setup if you cannot make one yourself? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Great review (and gorgeous flight footage)! Zohd is making very cool stuff... I've been salivating about the Talon but I'm going to look at this model of theirs as well. I love the detachable wing idea as hiking to a peak then long distance FPVing is something I'm stroked to try.
I have subscribed to your channel because I am new to the drone community. Want to build my own and want to fly long range. I really like the Crossfire.....seems like it's a must for long range. GPS.....
This setup is what I have been looking for, almost. I would like to adapt the setup so that video and control signals are sent through the cell phone network rather than direct communication with a base station. I saw a UA-cam video of a guy in Hawaii who did this with a Parrot and used it to fly between different islands. Do you know what equipment is necessary so that the cell phone network can be used for communications in this manner?
I've just purchased my first FPV gear and am anxious to fly this way for the first time. My first aircraft will be a Flight Test Master Series F4U Corsair. Any hints and tips are greatly appreciated.
hi there i live in canada and find it frustrating that there are no shops around me that sell long rang fpv gear ….plus i have no one who know about long rang set ups…… so here is a question …… i have an AR WING FROM SONIC i have a cheap pare od fpv gogles with true diversity and two foxeer clover leaf areals one immersion areal which at the moment i cant remember the name of and one patch antenna and last of all one three coil directional which i use on the gogles with the patch antenna …….. i nearly lost my wing the other day the screen went black ended up in a tree lol……. ive got a 600 mili watt video transmitter oh ……. im also useing a DX8 spectrum an old one …..also the receiver is spectrum too……… can you give any advise on how i get to do the long range flights …… should i change the antennas or swap over to terranes transmitter and diff receivers…….. or put me in touch with some one that can advise me on this…… please bare in mind i dont know how to solder…..
You should make a video showing how to setup something like this using inav and all the quirks you ran into during the build process. Id like a wing but dont know anything about servos, inav, or GPS. Just a tip. Great video though. Its nice to see a more budget option vs the capprina 2 and all those high end wings.
hello thanks for the video ….Ihave a question for you ….I have a DX9 2ND GEN transmitter can i put TBS ON IT so i can attempt to build the ZOHD ORBIT ? its going to be my first attempt at building …….
Great video! I've been wanting to do something similar with my sonicmodell AR. I might have missed it but did you talk about the prop at all? Any Options for different sizes? And how would that affect flight time and speed and all of that?
Look on Bangoods site for the props. The only drawback is the motor uses a 6x3 twist on prop. But I never broke a prop on that trip. Which is amazing for no landing strip out there
Cool thanks! Awesome canyon footage by the way. I need to convince my friends to make the drive over to Eastern Washington and something similar. Too many trees around Puget Sound to those kind of flights :)
Awesome video. Thank you for sharing... I was wondering if you can update the links to the components you have posted. It would be a great help. Also, would you be able to recommend some affordable flight controllers and also updated VTX equipment, that can be used for RC airplanes? Thank you in advance.
Justin , Your an inspiration ! I'm retired and breaking in to this serious hobby. My question is considering most of what you said, can obstacle aviodance sensors be installed on the Orbit ? .
You recommended a 900 mhz tbs transmitter and receiver for the control radio but also recommend the 5.8ghz video transceivers which will black out far sooner than the radio tranmissions - my question is why aren't you recommending the 1.3ghz transceiver for tranmitting the video?
Thanks for the information due to cost I am still finding the limits of 2.4ghz they make so many antennas for wifi frequency. However there are some places that are like the Bermuda triangle for wifi even out over nothing but trees. When I switch to UHF some day I would definitely revisit the Bermuda triangle locations and see if I still have to hit GPS RTH.
UHF seems to be the most reliable signal for my experiences with the EXUHF module from Immersion RC. The range is great, but it is more expensive than the Dragon link. I have read that the EZUhf can do better in more urban environments VS the Dragon link. Wifi has never been super reliable for me. As far as video signals go 1.3 has been my solid choice. 2.4 setups are smaller and sexy, but less signal quality than 1.3
Hey man, hows it going? Hope you doing well. I have a question it may be q little stupid but I want to do a build just like yours and I'm a little new, so I apologize. Besides the tbs receiver, if I didn't have a cross fire. What is receiving the the transmission from Q7? Is it the video transmitter. I appreciate the time to teach a newbie and I enjoy all your videos.
Great video! Beautiful geography, very useful tips for a build that is cheap and quality! Since your video has been out for a while, I'm wondering if you have done any experimentation recently with the Express LRS protocol? I am a newbie for long range fixed wing, and I'm purchasing the Happymodel system for Express LRS in 2.4ghz and 915mhz frequencies. What wing would you recommend for a beginner that never flies anything but multi rotor quads ? Really anxious to try a wing but no one near me flies them.
Start out with the ZOHD Orbit. It's ultra light and honestly if you crash you won't damage anyones property or much damage to the wing itself. Light weight and reliable.
Hi , new to all this and very interested in flying fpv.....ive never flown a drone/quad before but catch on to things very quick. So my ques is, do you have a vid or is it possible to start from nothing, buy everything needed to get flying an fpv quad for around 500.00 or less ? with good clear/real looking picture/goggles ? I guess the easiest way to say is, can i get a good/real resolution picture thrill of flying & recording for under 500.00 ? if not how far over 500 would it be ? these vids are great help at trying to get up to speed. i just dont want to get 1500.00 deep in this. Thanks in advance.

Yours is set at a 90 degree. Is there any particular reason why you did that? Is one method better than the other?
Hello, I want to move to fpv long range and your video makes it great as it does not seem to need a ground stations right now .... i have to laugh , my soldier job looked so much cleaner than your and my f405 cooked as soon as i pluged it in. i thought i wired it correctly but it cooked straight up, and every thing connected to it. any idea what i could have done??? besides touching it. just tried to get rmrc to do it for me but couldn't . do you know someone to hook it up for me.?
Hi There! I want to buy a video receiver that can be plugged into my tablet, can you recommend any? 3km range if possible. Cheap to buy and install. What kind of camera would work for it as well? Out of all the fpv videos videos out there i trust you the most
Nobody talks about the controllers with these videos. Can you do a complete video on the list of every part you use in your beginner setup?
Man Justin I can't stop giving your channel and videos props! wow, what a great informative video, I am new to wings so greatly appreciate this. Thanks from Atlantic Canada Justin.

I just lost my nano talon today doing preemptive long range 5.8 ghz fpv. Went out of my patch beam. This is exactly what I was looking for
Awww man. What vtx did you try out?
Drone Camps RC I was using a $16 wolfwhoop camera/transmitter (200mw) and I was surprised how far I went. I used a 14dbi patch and amoway rhcp circular polarized antenna on my ground station and a 2W boosted 2.4ghz radio signal.

Dope video im in the middle of building my first quad after that I'm doing this with the crossfire

This is awesome info as I’m researching my first fpv plane.
Definitely FPV Progression. Thanks .
That wing is awesome, great review Justin, I'm going to look into getting one of these, thanks for sharing bro 👍
Thanks for checking it out. A lot of time went into this one for you guys 👍🏻

great video mate! thanks for taking the time to make it and upload. thumbs and subbed
Definitely enjoyed the review. Excellent video Justin!!
How did you connect your vtx with your fpv camera
Looks awesome ! Thanks for sharing !
You’re welcome. 👍🏻
Anything more current and same price range?
Awesome review. 👍👍

Recognized black butte in the background there. Love central Oregon. We live in Eugene but are thinking about Sisters or Bend.
Totally new to RC. Which is best for Long range Camera Digital or Analog..?
Great review Justin. Your set up blows the Parrot Disco out of the water. A fraction of the price even with all the set up.
And doesn’t crash like I’ve heard the Disco flight software can.
This setup is what I have been looking for, almost. Thx for explain and presentations
Could you do another video with an updated setup? :)))
I've just purchased my first FPV gear and am anxious to fly this way for the first time. My first aircraft will be a Flight Test Master Series F4U Corsair. Any hints and tips are greatly appreciated.
Time to order one
Love your shirt

👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 Beautiful area and great shots!
I’m getting ☝️ one thanks for the review I would never know about this product without Justin 👏👍
Nice!
Would this work for a rc car
pagoda or clover antena? which one is better for the vtx?

Just a tip.
Great video though. Its nice to see a more budget option vs the capprina 2 and all those high end wings.
I’ll do more of those vids coming up. Ps. The Cap 2 flies good but not made well at all for a crash.
How much weight can you load on this? Just thinking of bigger/more batteries, though I suppose that could also go up with a bigger motor?
hello thanks for the video ….Ihave a question for you ….I have a DX9 2ND GEN transmitter can i put TBS ON IT so i can attempt to build the ZOHD ORBIT ? its going to be my first attempt at building …….
looks like a parrot disco great vid keep going i watch all you vids :)
I wish they would re release this one haha
Dang nice
That is cool!
which matek firmware do i flash on INAV. i have the matek F405 STD FC
Also can you reccomend a similar setup for a drone?
Can you name me the Vtx of highest power that have good antannas can be used in a night eagle 2 pro ( a night vision camera )?.
Wow how cool thank you for the video where is this beautiful place you flew I would love to visit sometime
Love it 👍😀
I wanna build one but I dont understand any of this. Is there a more dumb down video that can explain this for someone who's just starting off
how much after all said and done?

Hi Justin, what is the fpv camera and the HD camera on these flights? What is the flight time you get with a fpv camera, a HD camera and a 4S 1500?
1. Is there a way to make the main camera stable? How DJI can make a flying distance more than 5 miles without external antennas?
Put a gimbal on it, dji has long antennas in the landing gear
the max distance you can fly in germany is regularly whatever size your lawn has...so no GPS needed xd
Awesome video. Thank you for sharing... I was wondering if you can update the links to the components you have posted. It would be a great help. Also, would you be able to recommend some affordable flight controllers and also updated VTX equipment, that can be used for RC airplanes? Thank you in advance.
Nice man
Amazing
Can this be used with the DJI goggles system?
Can we use this on rc heli
Justin , Your an inspiration ! I'm retired and breaking in to this serious hobby. My question is considering most of what you said, can obstacle aviodance sensors be installed on the Orbit ? .
No unless you spend big $$$
I love wings. I wanna get one soon. It would be a nice addition to my channel. After I learn acro.
You recommended a 900 mhz tbs transmitter and receiver for the control radio but also recommend the 5.8ghz video transceivers which will black out far sooner than the radio tranmissions - my question is why aren't you recommending the 1.3ghz transceiver for tranmitting the video?
I’m talking about a beginner setup is why. I do fly 1.3
However to fly miles out 1k will get you miles without having to upgrade everything.

Q7 is the radio signal on 2.4ghz
The video was 5.8ghz
Great video! Beautiful geography, very useful tips for a build that is cheap and quality!
Since your video has been out for a while, I'm wondering if you have done any experimentation recently with the Express LRS protocol?
I am a newbie for long range fixed wing, and I'm purchasing the Happymodel system for Express LRS in 2.4ghz and 915mhz frequencies. I'm wondering how you feel it compares to your TBS system used in this video.
As a senior on fixed income, your suggestions are very important to me! Thanks. - Jim
I was wearing that shirt today. 👊
Oh nice. BBoys are legend. 🧘♂️ 🌿
Are you sharing shirts now..? You should really get your own..! It must really really smell bad right now.
nice flight and tune, here is what it is called : Nothing
Joakim Karud
Hi nice video. I was wondering @ 13.46 what is the external/secondary antenna?
So 18 minute only per flight?
What wing would you recommend for a beginner that never flies anything but multi rotor quads ? Really anxious to try a wing but no one near me flies them.
Great information sir!😁👍👍
Hi, good review. I saw all your review about long range with gliders and wings. What is the best and safety model to do fpv long range? Thanks

Can you suggest me long range receiver and transmitter for my drone so that can I fly it to 5km.

So my ques is, do you have a vid or is it possible to start from nothing, buy everything needed to get flying an fpv quad for around 500.00 or less ? with good clear/real looking picture/goggles ? I guess in like 1mi. or so radius ? I like to have mine set like this so I get a solid signal.
Hello, I want to move to fpv long range and your video makes it great as it does not seem to need a ground stations right now .... I checked all your stuff and wondering if you have videos how to setup your controller? I tried with APM and did not work fine but you mentioned it is special for wings... Thanks
Thanks for the valuable info! I have the same horus X10s as you have and I read there is an issue using it with TBS crossfire, how did you get around it? are you using your x10 with FrOS or Open Tx? I would love to have the same setup as yours except the receiver I want to use the L9R, you think this is problematic?
I’ve had no issues. Maybe I’m lucky?
Would like some fpv basics to know how to add fpv to an fms suprEZ. Cheers
Thanks for tips. Looking for the most efficient fpv long range airplane with nose platform for pan/tilt. Considering Talon mini as most obvious choice. Wondering is there any flying wings with big enough nose platform.
Get a Zeta fx61 ,huge gear bay and pan and tilt easily fits on nose.
Greate information, unfortunately i just bought the s800.
What is that huge Wing underneath, it looks like a zephir II?
Did you made a overview of these wing already?
I plan a super long range wing and i think it has to be large because of the glide efficency.
I didn’t buy the Zephir II. However I was showing some guys how far forward the nose is on the orbit wing this weekend. They saw it is easier to balance than the s800.
@@dronecamps Thank you for your answer.
But what I was wondering which plane is this underneath the orbit on the table the big Wing?
can you fly it on 3s to get longer run time?
I loved your video. you are very knowledgeable in fpv. I would like your help please. I an new to this field and want a full setup of an affordable flyer to do reconnaissance off the sea coast to spot patches of sargasum seaweed so has to be able to fly many miles. can you lead me to a complete package that would be ready to buy and fly. Remember i have nothing. (no goggles etc). i don't mind buying used once it is in working condition.
Question if pin headers are installed can you close the canopy?
Sold out
Y0 Justin any chance I can come camp with you for a weekend or you come to fla, help me get some of my bigger wings setup ect.. we could use the Paris serious and got my zohd n skywalker's ect.... I wish all my ish flew as well as yours... ;)
i have to laugh , my soldier job looked so much cleaner than your and my f405 cooked as soon as i pluged it in. i thought i wired it correctly but it cooked straight up, and every thing connected to it. any idea what i could have done??? besides touching it. just tried to get rmrc to do it for me but couldn't . do you know someone to hook it up for me.?
Nice
what would be a good motor size for long range flight to install on wings of this size like this ZOHD or the Sonicmodel ar wing 900mm
So how much would every thing cost if I wanted to order a complete setup
what camera are you using for this
THE black one looks better though
Greek for beginners
Hi There! I want to buy a video receiver that can be plugged into my tablet, can you recommend any? 3km range if possible. Cheap to buy and install.
What kind of camera would work for it as well?
I made my choice to get AKK FX2 Ultimate Internation Version 5.8GHz and the antenna you have on your plane.
I want to use it on a drone.
Thanks in advance!
Hi normal wifi cameras that you can connect to your tablet or mobile phone can be slow in connection and they doesnt have long range but i recommend buying fpv system it can be up to 200km and you can get it cheap from ebay and if you have fpv screen you can plug it to tablet
