@@bennettgrimm2618 Because money? Deathwatch doesn't have much in the way of a specific range, so make it happen by having the Kill Teams as they are. It wasn't so bad when we could 0-5 everything, but that proved too complicated for Little Timmy to work out.
@imperialdoctor right, but is there any reason why a specter killteam needs a reaver on it. Or is the official GW position "we haven't sold enough reaver boxes so now you need exactly one model"
@@bennettgrimm2618 Likely, yes. And yet, if Reivers were 0-5 and we could still Combat Squad them, AND Kill Teams all had the Battleline keyword as standard, Reivers would be a potential late game pop-up and annoy the backfield unit. As they are however, they're just shit.
@imperialdoctor it's kinda anecdotal of my whole problem with this edition. Even if reivers were good I would want them because I don't like the model. I used to be able to just not take them.
Same with the acolyte hybrids for GSC; where are my construction workers finding all of these guns?

Ahhhh Warp Spiders. The essential inclusion for any Aeldari army, and yet haven't had a new model for 2000 years. Can anyone name an older model still in use?

I believe Baharroth is the oldest model still legal. And surprise surprise, he’s also Aeldari!
@@KILLERAOC the exarch is awesome still but the normal minis are kinda static/boring. Only getting them with a new release, I hate resin minis.
I believe the wings on the swooping hawks exarch is a tad older but that's it

Fun fact about Necron Scarabs: They get OC1 within 6” of a cryptek. So they can still be used for actions as long as they’re positioned near a cryptek 👀

The AS Paragon Warsuits did get a nice toughness boost to T7 in the codex. This may not seem all that significant but it does mean Lascannons and rough equivalent S12 weapons doubled their wound roll failure rate. S6 hits are also a lot easier to come by than S7 so they are quite a bit tougher against sort of mid range infantry devouring weapons.
It's really telling that Breachers aren't "auto include". AdMech players gave up on trying to kill the enemy.

No, that would be innovation, they would have to find an ancient blueprint on undercosting and weaponising a sink

Up until the last points change Guard didn’t have an autotake unit… we had an auto take *list.* Even now copies of David Gaylard’s list with slight tweaks are still the most powerful lists by a long gap.
As for most of the Index being balanced… once again Auspex dives into the Cope. 80% of the Index is auto-*exclude.* I’ve never even heard people discuss half the Leman Russ variants or Infantry Squad types, for instance.
I mean, I've played all 4 battleline options during my recent games. Cadians are probably the least useful.

My emperors champion once survived 3 rounds in meele combat against a wraithknight on his own and did 6 wounds of damage to him. The emperor really protected that day

I think the gladiator lancer is an auto-include for its anti- tank ability at a good cost for space marines.

Thousand Sons really only have one question to ask yourself: do you want to take Scarabs or not?
Scarabs are good enough to take, but they are not “auto include” because you build around them.
My current list doesn’t use them but I want to try them as the other archetype sometime again. I’m having fun with my Helbrute+daemon Prince +vortex beast wrecking ball (of which none are “auto include” though MVB is really good)

Yes as a DA player there is no match I think I shouldn't take Azrael. I've never once considered it. Doesn't matter the detachment, or the theme I'll get him in there. Even if I don't have a single Tacticus unit for him to lead I'd still slap him into a list just for the CP and his plasma/combi-weapon to kill a few models.
For me, the Watch Master is an auto include especially for a proteus kill team his melee profile is decent, and he gives the unit advance and charge and fall back and charge and with the load out the proteus can take that just seems necessary
For the Custodes i think the caladius grav Tank ist Auto include

As someone very new to warhammer building up my first army I’m happy to know that I picked good units off rip. Second ever kit bought was an infiltrators combo and then helbrecht, emperors champ and sword brethren

Interesting that Helbrutes didnt get a mention. Bwing able to rip both dark paxt bonuses is a MASSIVE force multiplier if you position it well in an advance.
I personally try to ensure i have one near a couple of legionary units and a Vindicator, with the synergy potentially throwing out obscene damage as a result.

Having 'uppy downy' ability for free is just soooo good, and they are no slouches with their guns either.
I find it almost impossible not to take 2 units, let alone one for some added utility. Nearly always a must-have for me.
Glad to see typhus, he's one of my favorite characters.
I wonder if gaunts with spinefist will still be the best option in pariah. Assault while still good took a hit as you can't do any actions. i was in favor of devourers and you can get loads of borers with the easy to build kits.

Aggressor are pretty good by themself, apotecary is cheap as a 55 point and give letal hit (plus sustained with fire discipline), generating a Unit that is tough and dangerous at range as in melee...

@@ulfsteinke4511 yeah, is just a good unit + good and cheap support. Note u can't stack sustained and lethal hit, but are still 2 hits for every six rolled, one auto-wounding and the other regular..
Also worth to note all six-fishing abilities benefit from oath of moment reroll...
Due to their somewhat middling support, and comparatively cheap cost, I believe Deathmarks are also something of a popular pick for secondary scoring,
I feel like Farstalkers are auto includes for T'au with a Trail Shaper or Solid-Image Enhancement for a unit that that can infiltrate and take up no man's land space then redeploy... you can do it with other units, but Farstalkers have a bigger footprint for less points.
Probably can build viable Grey Knights List with only --
1. Power Armor -- Crowe/Champion + Strikes, Purifiers, Purgators, Interceptors (Horde Army)
or
2. Terminators - Terminator Characters (e.g Draigo/Librarian/Chaplain) + Terminators, Paladins (Elite Army)
or
3. 6 DreadKnights + Allied Imperial Knights + empty Landraider or two. (Vehicle Army)
That blood angles is quite literally my entire list!

New to the hobby, have no army and haven't played yet but love collecting, building and painting. So far I've only been buying kits I think look neat.
So how odd is it that most of my models are included in this list? I'm good at this, apparently!

Rendmaster on Blood Throne needs to be in every Khorne chaos daemon list. It's really something special. For anyone who wonders why Khorne daemons seem to cost a little too much, that unit is why -- it unlocks a whole new level of effectiveness.
I'm kind of curious that Technoarcheologist is not on Admech's list🤔A single model (45 point) that can do missions+block reinforcement is a solid choice to almost every Admech army👍🏻

I think post codex sisters lists start with at least one unit of novitiates. Finally getting infiltrate is key, and the fact that they have a simulacrum, you can forward deploy, and begin rolling for miracle dice immediately. Triumph as well, a 6 every round on an 18 wound unit is too good of a value to pass up.
Bullgryns and Rough Riders over the other "frequently taken" units. They just do things that no other AM datasheet does.
I love how the buff land raiders to get them off the shelves. They will nerf them to dust within a few months so I hope people found the STL and not buying 3-4 of them each...

Love it when you play multiple armies and don't take a single auto-include unit.
As guardsmen (DKoK) I take Death Korps of Krieg troops, death riders, the gorgon, and heavy weapon squads. I don't take Lord Solar because he is excluded from being able to be attached to a Death Rider unit, and leaving him out in the open is just a no-go. I have a 51% win rate with this army.
I do not ally in Scions unless I need the boost in anti-tank for a specific target, most of our games are local so I don't ally them unless somebody claims their bringing in mass anti-infantry in an army (brings 3 baal predators). Generally, I do not fight enemy tanks with the guard army, but rather mow down the objective takers instantly, and play objectives. I'm usually able to secure a 10-15 point gap on turn 2, a 15-25 point gap turn 3, and then that gap usually shrinks about 5-8 points turn 4, meaning it just comes down to: can I hold on for Turn 5 or not.
As Space Marines, I usually run my Astraeus or Dreadnoughts, so scouts are sometimes taken, but only the legend scouts with snipers, otherwise, I need as many bodies running up the board as possible. I *can* proxy my scouts with snipers and camo cloaks as regular scouts, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and choosing to buy more just isn't in the cards as it feels like they plan on removing them in 11e, so I just play them as legends or none at all. I have a 53% win rate with this army.
As Imperial Knights I don't own any warglaives/helverins/etc... I just haven't gotten around to it. I just got my knights and my Castellan. I have a 43% win rate with this army. Having cheaper units is a must, but to be honest, I usually just ally my Knights in, so this is more of an honorary mention.
Tempestus Scions: I own the entire range of... 5 units... So everything is auto include or you can't form an army \o/
I like that the only auto included named character for Custodes is not any of their 3 unique codex named characters but an Inquisitor that all Imperium armies have access to.
Very disappointing truth for the golden lads…..

Most of the whole index range is juste garbage due to really poorly written army and detachements rules.
Rubrics 5x5 + charchaters = fun 1 month. Boring as hell after that.
Ork player here. Am I the only guy that likes Shockjump Dragster more than Stormboyz? Cost is close, and it can ALWAYS get to were its needed if it was deployed. Has better survivability, and can just sit in backfield blocking deep strike until it's time to use it while not immediately dying if it gets shot.
Unless we're talking kult of speed, the answer is yes
@@prestonpowell9222 I just think it's more convenient. It's auto advance means it never fails to get to its place. It actually has defense, and won't die as easily as 5 boyz. Barely cost more for points. Just seems better to me.

I don't think blade champ is a must have for custodes anymore. The shield captain seems the superior choice now as the value of being able to double khatah with crit 5s in shield host is way more advantageous than advance and charge, especially as we already have good cost efficient first strike capability with venatari now. I get the blade champ gets dev wounds which can spike with re-rolls but most people run him with warden anyway.
I really wish Death Guard's Hellbrut didnt suck so bad, such a cool model but the rules if kinda meh.

I dont consider raiders as auto take for drukhari. Its been a good 3-4 months since i last ran one.
Beast packs on the other hand…1 is an absolute minimum. 2 is ideal. 3 is just considered bullying
I play Black Templars, I tend to more 1k games, and I always take Helbrecht with a sword brethren squad in an impulsor!

TSons: Enlightened Tzaangor. 45pts for 3, still does a thing. I mean, you're correct about the rest, but you shouldn't ever not take at least two units of these little heroes.
Other chaos gets Nurglings. We get non-deepstriking, non-infiltrating, birds-things on poker chips, with super-bows. Somehow, that still works fine.
I was really sad when we lost access to the changeling without a horror tax that made it no longer worth it

Nothing at 'top tier' seems too crazy, like e.g. Death Jester or Trajann in their 'prime' during 9th. Every auto-include option/combo for most factions, there is at least pretty close 2nd place alternative in another another detachment to build around, albeit more MU specific perhaps. I feel like things got a little bit worse on the lower spectrum of things, maybe? The Reiver-equivalent/trash tier of each faction seems a bit bigger now...
I wish GW was better at reminding us that Imperial Agents can be slotted into other Imperial armies. I never think about em. 😅

Topic idea: what should I kill first... If I can? For each faction what are the linchpin/force multipliers that should be delt with first if possible.
Changes depending on the list tbh my man. Can't make a video of kill on sight models.
Although you can make a pretty fair assumption off of first looks at the table
However I can suggest these three things.
1st. Any anti-you units. Don't want to leave the units best suited to killing you alive, will buy you time.
2nd. Any Com Point generators, don't let your opponent get nescecary resources.
2.5. (Maybe) Any secondary targets, things that get you points by killing em.
3rd. Key players, we're talking warlords for extra points, charecters causing you issues, etc etc.
If auto-include is a must have, then what the hell is a soopa soopa auto include ?
