JImmy's daughter, Mahalia Barnes, is a back- up singer in Joe's band- but she rides up front with Joe for "Riding with the Kings" which will melt your socks off. Also she borrows Joe for her group The Soul Mates on "Nasty Gal" which will curl your toes up. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
And the drummer is Jimmy's son Jackie.
Agree, "Nasty Gal" is a must-see.
Q welcome to the Jimmy Barnes rabbit hole, enjoy the journey
Then we also have to get into Lachy Doley and Jackie Barnes and then Clayton Doley and that whole mess of wonderful entertainers!
If you like jimmy and you like guitar all I can say is Cold Chisel, Bow river, ringside!!!
100% was gonna say it myself 👍
Ian Moss is a great guitarist and singer. Every member of Cold Chisel is so talented.
💯 but be sure to search up the "Bow River epic version" (in 4K high definition) (remastered by dr KAP - as otherwise you will end up with the 240p version!)
Oh hell yes!!
@@YobboBearyep and I think that that particular performance really highlights each and every members talent!
Jimmy Barnes is one of the greatest rock singers of all time and fronted one of the greatest rock bands of all time…
Jimmy is the ultimate professional and apparently never loses his technique is flawless. Living Aussie legend
You're about to go down the Aussie rock rabbit hole . Strap in
Yes indeed... Soooo many fantastic artists. Too many to even contemplate typing them down. 😁
Absolutely!!! And what a ride ❤
At first I found it kinda cringe and grift worthy, but there are so many Aussie bands we think are mainstream that no one knows about.
@@JustIn-mu3nlcringe and grift weren't even words when Jimmy was blasting stages... grow up haha
@@Rondigity92 I meant the actual reaction video's, not the music.
Cold Chisel has been around since 1973. The entire band is so cool.
Jimmy is Australian royalty. He is part of the soundtrack of this Aussies life. You've got an endless amount of choice to check out Jimmy, both with and without the band Cold Chisel.
I actually feel a little bit cheated that we never knew about this guy in the U.S. for all these years. He and John Farnham both! Glad I was able to discover them through UA-cam.
You might like some Little River Band
@bennichols1113 Yes, I knew a couple of songs by Little River Band but never knew who the singers were. Thanks for the suggestion.
Check out , Matt Corby , Reece Mastin , Dean Ray , Michael Paynter just name a few more
@@SNDreamerMusicNMore and the Teskey Brothers!
@@kev4366 indeed
Joe is the Jimmy of guitar playing and Jimmy is the Joe of singing
As soon as I saw this in my feed, I knew you were going to love it. This is an incredible song, and the performances from both Joe and Jimmy are outstanding. I'd love to be able to sing like Jimmy, his voice is priceless. Great reaction, thanks man. And thanks Sylvia for the suggestion.
Yeah baby.
More Jimmy please.
Nice reaction 🫶
Jimmy barnes and Joe Bonamassa are and have become classic go to music for me now. along with The Teskey Brothers "Hold Me".
my toes actually curled at this. Fantastic
For your next Jimmy Barnes' song, try "Simply the Best" by Tina Turner and Jimmy Barnes. Yes, THE Tina Turner. It's my favourite version of the song, then next do "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" by Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham (pronounced Farn'am). They are known together as Barnesy and Farnsey. John Farnham is another Aussie icon
Inxs and Jimmy Barnes did a song for the Lost Boys soundtrack. Its called Good Times. Great song.
Jimmy was around 53 singing this song you just watched
Now you need to watch them do deep purple cover lazy
It's has amazing musicians from the start with jimmy adding to it
Young Jimmy look up in band cold chisel
Wild thing live performance last stand version with Ian moss on guitar 🎸
He also another singer in band as well but not it this on
They where a pub band originally and never forgotten their fans even today when performing
Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
People think this was two sessions because they think Jimmys shirt is different colors. It’s the sound deadening film on the window that shows a different color when he’s seen from outside his booth. This is a one-take production.
This song is like a family reunion, Jimmy's daughter sing with Joe's band also sing backing on this track with other daughters and the drummer is Jimmy's son Jackie. Great channel. You need to watch Joe and MAHALIA DOING riding with the king. Cheers
It's funny I was compiling a short list of great reactors to hit up with requests for Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel and you were number 1 on that list! And here you are doing Jimmy. Jimmy has one of the best soul and rock voices in the world - I kid you not, wait till you see what he is capable of. Check out his covers of A Change is Gonna Come (Jimmy Barnes) and Wild Thing (Cold Chisel), also Flame Trees (live from the Last Stand concert or the 2003 Ringside concert).
Jimmy and Marcia Hines singing Fire and Rain is also one of the best examples of his gentle deep crooning abilities.
Saw barnsey 1981 with his band Cold Chisel here in Perth Western Australia at the old Melbourne hotel 👍🇦🇺
Have been a fan of Jimmy barnes since the late 80s, he was born in Scotland and moved to oz at a young age
You have to checkout his daughter. Mahalia Barnes with Joe. " Nasty Girl" and "Riding with the Kings".
Love this video! I’ve watched it MANY times.
Jimmy Barnes Daughter is one of Joe’s back up singers.
A really FUN video is Woke Up Dreaming with Joe on acoustic guitar in a battle of the strings against Tina Guo playing cello-jaw dropping!
Jimmy is such a talent. Hit up him and Tina Turner on Simply The Best, or his contribution to The Lost Boys soundtrack with INXS on Good Times and Laying Down The Law.
Wow! I absolutely 💯 LOVED THIS ❤ Thank you, Sebs.
Jimmy's been gargling bricks since his late teens when he started his musical career. His voice is incredible, rough as guts when he wants to belt, and soft as velvet when he wants to cuddle. As his career is ongoing in his 60s he doesn't appear to have damaged his voice, lucky for his fans. And Jimmy, I'd like to see you and John do a version of When something is wrong with my baby while dressed in your hospital gowns!!! I think it would be a killer version !!!
Joe is the best/ but these two together,,,,,,,, best blues song of all time
You have to check out Jimmy singing with John Farnham, two Australian Kings❤
Welcome to the Australian music appreciation club, you will enjoy it here 🇭🇲. Jimmy is in the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of fame twice, once with Cold Chisel and also as a solo artist
Jimmy and Joe sound so great together! Jimmy is an Aussie legend, his Cold Chisel and solo stuff all fantastic.
As one of ur other viewers said u MUST check him out singing w/John Farnham the cover of ‘When Something Is Wrong With My Baby” … u won’t believe ur ears … down the rabbit hole u will go …
Be Well
🐥🇨🇦🐥
Hugs everyone
Jimmy is not just a rabbit hole to go down Sebs, he's a whole warren if you want to delve into his extensive history across multiple genres. Well worth the experience.
that person you said you didn't know is the FANTASTIC, AMAZING Beth Hart - an absolute MUST to listen to!
You really NEED to react to Jimmy and his band Cold Chisel doing THE BEST cover of "Wild Thing". The lead guitarist, Ian Moss, is also a guitarist you'll love. The keyboard player from Cold Chisel, Don Walker, wrote "Stone Cold". The live performance of Wild Thing will definitely be the wildest rock band performance you have ever seen. Please don't miss it.
If you like guitarists, try Ian Moss who was a Cold Chisel band mate of Jimmy, doing a live version of Georgia on my Mind. Or his and Jimmy's cover of Wild thing.
Jimmy with Tina Turner singing Simply the Best is a great listen
Jimmy has been my life long favourite and as good as he sounds now, you should have heard him in the 80’s!! He is a rock singer but has always had a leaning toward blues and soul. He does an amazing cover of Sam Cooke’s, “Change Gonna Come”
Jimmy is fantastic, love this matchup with Joe. A world where Joe Bonamassa, Mark Knopfler, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Eddie Van Halen are our heroes is a world worth living in.
One of Australia's best ever musical geniuses ❤ well, 2 of them ❤❤
You have to check out Tommy Emmanuel's Journey, an amazing Aussie guitarist!!!
The lady at the end of the video was Beth Hart. You should check out her and Joe doing I’d Rather go blind live in Amsterdam. Another phenomenal piece of music
He started in cold chisel, another fantastic Aussie band.
Jimmy started in the early 70s there is a lot to look up on him. The LEGEND.
In an American movie from years ago called Working Class Man, Jimmy sings the title track of the same name. Movie starred Michael Keaton….. Jimmy’s voice, wow
songs from the Teskey Brothers Winding Way album are all fantastic. Love I remember the time, london bridge, oceans of emotions, all wonderful. Also love Josh Teskeys duet with Jimmy Barnes (iconic Aussie singer) singing Do you love me.
Good day Sebs never heard of him either. Wish you would check out Bonnie Raitt doing Angel from Montgomery. It's a beautiful song 🎵 thanks for your consideration Peace and Love ♥️ ✌️ 🎸
Jimmy barnes bro. The GOAT man singing
Yes definitely check out The Band. Especially the concert called “the Last Waltz”. It’s their last concert. It is amazing.
Love Jimmys voice🥰
Have you heard his duet with Tina Turner "Simply the Best"?👌
Hey mate, Barnsley is an Aussie legend, on this video his son Jackie plays drums and oldest daughter Mahalia and her girls do back up vocals. Mahalia Barnes is now Joe B's live vocalist. Cheers.
Jimmy Barnes and inxs - good times
Two of the best doing it together
Wonderful reaction! I just got to see Joe Bonamassa live in Huntsville a couple of weeks ago. What an incredible show! The whole show was like this video. There was not a bad song in the set. Joe did all the singing himself with a couple of back up singers. He and Jimmy Barnes do a Deep Purple song, Lazy, also incredible. You reacted already to a song with the same "feels" Joe with Beth Hart Live doing I'd rather go Blind. Just holy crap. Keep up the great work!
I have been listening to Joe for years!! He does a Gary Moore song ( Midnight Blues ) live at the Beacon Theater, It is amazing.
I just saw Joe in concert last weekend!
Thank you for taking a look at this. I thought you might like it.
You re in for a fun rabbit hole now that you have found Jimmy!
I didn't know who he was either! I'm 74 and had never heard the name. Joe Bonamassa is another issue ... have been following for years, but the two together are more than outstanding.
You are just starting to some of Australia's best singers
To get an idea of hos rock roots, please check out Wild Thing with his band Cold Chisel...live from the Last Stand Concert
It tells you every thing you need to know about Jimmy Barnes ❤❤❤
Written by the deadset legend Don Walker
check out some Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham duet "Something is wrong with my baby"
Jimmy - Legend - you should listen to him younger with Cold chisel - cover of 'Wild Thing' live or a live version of 'Bow River" - Cold Chisel's guitarist is awesome as well
Yeah Jimmy Barnes is a hot item when it comes to vocals you need to check out INXS featuring Jimmy Barnes and the song is "GOOD TIMES" vevo official video just saying it's impressive
Yup. The American audience also need to know it's on the Lost Boys soundtrack. 😊
He does it all the time
That is Jimmy Barnes natural voice - rasp, growl, grit and squall, NOT screaming. One of the best singer icons of Australia...🤙☝️🙂
The picture at the end was Beth Hart. You need to check "I'd Rather Go Blind" with Joe Bonamassa and her on vocals. She's absolutely fantastic.
5 of Jimmy's kids are in the music industry. His son inlaw plays bass in the band. The drummer here is Jimmy's son Jackie. You don't see them but his daughters are singing backup. REGARDING HIS VOICE JB: ”You know what? It’s survival. Ten years ago I was doing a big gig somewhere and I had a cold, with laryngitis, lost my voice. And because it was an insurance thing I had to go to a specialist, because we were changing the dates, for changes on the contract and stuff. And so I went to this throat specialist - he was the guy who did the operation on Elton John’s nodules, and so he’s like one of the most famous throat people in the world. He put an optical fibre cable down my noise and had me sing and talk, and he told me that I’m one of three singers that he’s ever seen in the world who don’t use their vocal chords. That’s why I talk horse, I use my vocal chords when I speak - you have two main vocal chords that are surrounded by false vocal chords, and I use the false ones when I sing. And he said that he didn’t know how the hell I taught myself to do it - he doesn’t know how the other people taught themselves to do it, there’s only a few people he’s seen - and the thing is since the first review Cold Chisel ever got said my voice was going to last six months. But the secondary chords don’t grow nodules, you can’t get nodules on them. So with my voice, I can’t talk, but I can sing. Sometimes I can’t speak, but I can sing. And I don’t lose my top register, I can get higher. It’s the weirdest thing.
That was a picture of Beth Hart at the end. Check out I'd Rather Go Blind and I'll Take Care of You with Joe and Beth. Also, for another great blues guitarist, check out Gary Moore, The Messiah Will Come Again and Still Got The Blues.
I think you would love Cold Chisel, check out Bow River live ringside, the Lead guitarist Ian moss, whom also has a great voice sings this one with jimmy finishing it out, Great song, check out Dr Kap's version for best quality. and the harmonica will blow you away.
When reacting to Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham they should be live. Their performances are a show in themselves. Check out The Teskey Brothers Hold Me live at the Forum. Check out also Tina,Turner and Jimmy Barnes Simply The Best. ❤❤❤❤
You wanna see the pure menace rocker Jimmy was you need to watch Cold Chisel perform Wild Thing at their last stand concert
Joe Bonamassa Going Down - you won't be disappointed
Good luck Peace and Love ♥️ ✌️
Jimmy Barnes son was playing drums in that video. His daughter is a backup singer and joe bonamassa's band
The womanat the end of this video is Beth Hart. You have to hear her and Joe do "I'd Rather Go Blind" Live in Amsterdam
Jimmy amazing. Investigate him BIGTIME Judy from Australia ❤❤❤ luv your channel 8:01
SEB: Actually, you do know who that lady was at the end, Beth Hart. You reacted to her performance of I'd Rather Go Blind (with Joe Bonamassa on guitar).
This is real music.
That is flat out the blue's
A song to react to : David and David ---- Welcome To The Boomtown --------- this whole album is fantastic ,,recorded in1986
This is real music
Someone hearing Jimmy for the first time so late in his career is always gold. Does he lose his voice a lot? Um....dude...😉
I really hope ( this is my first time watching your channel, so forgive me if I'm preaching to the converted) you, as other commenters here have suggested, go down the Chisel rabbit hole, bc I'm pretty sure Ian Moss will appeal to you as well.
Mahalia Barnes
Aussie rock is strong. Love some Little River Band
Flame trees by Cold Chisel is one of the best songs
you need to listen to inxs and jimmy barnes laying down the law & good times good 80s rock tunes
I don’t know exactly how many kids this song has caused, but I’m thinking it should come with a warning label 😂
Well Jimmy is the father of seven children so... yeah warning label indeed!
Joe should be a blues / rock legend, but he is his own man with his own recording studio and record label.....so he doesnt get the radio airplay he should.
First played for the great B B King at only 12 yo......was opening for B B King only 2 years later as a 14 yo.
Jimmy is so good, he has 4 different singing voices with 3 of them ranging from light baritone to super high tenor......the 4th singing voice is his backing vocals special.....a clear pure head voice that is reminiscent of female gospel singers like Aretha etc.
Recommend you sample Jimmy's duet with John Farnham.....a cover of Sam n Dave and a soul masterpiece....When Something Is Wrong With My Baby.
The official video is masterpiece, but 2 of the live performances are even better......try the live performance from The Arias ( Australia's version of the Grammys ).
If you like wild, feral rock.....then Jimmy's performance of Wild Thing with Cold Chisel from their 1983 break up tour with blow you away.
Makes the Hendrix version look like a nursery rhyme.
Wild Thing from The Last Stand, Cold Chisel 1983
I'm willing to bet that Alli loves this... 😉
You saw Beth Hart there at the end. Gotta watch her and Joe together on "I'll Take Care of You".
you need to listen to bob seger, joe bonamassa is awesome you need to listen to there tune called to much love
its awesome
Cold Chisel
Jimmie spent much of his early career chugging straight bourbon and screaming his lungs out on stage . I am surprised that he still has a voice , but i thank god he does.
How??...How could you do this without your girl beside you??....unforgivable.... :)
amazing
Famous also from the "Big Enough" video/meme.
Since you seem to enjoy guitar blues you need to check out BB King if you haven’t already
Brenda Lee was the first person to record "Always on My Mind," not Elvis.
Please check out Gary Moore's blues playlist, now that is total tone control and passion 👍
As an aussie we all know who he is.. Its just Jimmy.
