You should also check iut Jimmy and John Farnham singing When Something Us Wrong With My Baby with Jimmy's brothr in kaw Diesek playing Lead guitar and vocals.
Now you have to check out Joe Bonamassa and Mahalia Barnes - Riding with the Kings. Mahalia is Jimmy's daughter and the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
🇬🇧 I am 60 years old this year, and until 2 months ago I had never heard of either Jimmy, nor Joe. And it is all thanks to reaction channels like yours & a few others. Jimmy has the most amazing vocals, and Joe has to be the greatest guitarist on this planet right now. 🎙️🎶🎼🎸❤
Welcome to the Barnesy rabbit hole!! He also sang Simply the Best with Tina Turner back in the 80’s…2 gravelly smooth power voices . Then add in our John Farnham…When Something is Wrong with my Baby…you can’t go wrong 🐨🐨🐨🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Well, that was incredible. This guy obviously deserves to be in the conversation with Chris Stapleton, and yet, we've never heard of him. 20 #1 albums in Australia, eh? I remember some years ago when I heard some pop song and said, I like that guy, he's pretty good, and somebody told me, oh, that's Robbie, he's the biggest pop star on the planet. Amazing what we can not know.
Jimmy and his band tried to make it in America but they were rejected, they actually wrote and performed a song about the experience called “nothing I want”
@carolyn-fb8is- I hope you are delving into his 50 year catalogue and guaranteed you will have no other singer who captivates you as much as our jimmy👍🏻
I mean , I've watched a million reactions to this song and you the ONLY one to not pause .... Much love for your reaction !! .... Jimmy Barnes is the fuckin GOAT, and I swear he gets better as he gets older !!
And now you will want to know why you haven’t heard of Barnsey before, everyone does! For the answer have a listen to You Got Nothing I Want from his cold chisel days
Imagine. ....Jimmy is the biggest rock star in Australia's history, Cold Chisel broke up in 1983 ( have reformed a few times briefly ) and are still Australia's favourite rock, soul, jazz and pop band......but Jimmy idolises his mate, John Farnham. Cold Chisel had their first hit about 1977 and now out of hospital, Jimmy is back on stage singing his heart out. John had his first No1 in 1967 and his last No 1 album about 2015 / 2016. John was still performing at 71 yo until diagnosed with mouth cancer about 2022 or 2023. Their duet of Something Is Wrong With My Baby is a must do......and always live for both.
Two masters of their craft and legends in the world of music combining to make great music. Jimmy's children are also incredibly talented singers and musicians.
Jimmy’s son is the drummer on this, and his daughter Mahalia has her own musical career as well as performing as one of Joe’s backup singers. Talented family!
Thank you Sal for reacting to my request. Jimmy has a lot of great songs and a few more with Joe B. They did a cover of Lazy, a Deep Purple song and they CRUSHED it. He has collaborated with many great artists and you can't find a song that's not amazing.
If you like these two together,AND you like Deep Purple. You must try Joe and Jimmy doing the Deep Purples song (Lazy). Not only does their version do the song justice, but I dare say it may supersede the original. It has Joe's band backing them up, with phenomenal organ work that made Deep Purple what they were back in the day. That song was done by them for the (Re-machined) album to honor Deep Purple album machinehead official video will showcase all these top-tier musicians having fun and showing why they are the best in the world. Do yourself and us a favor by reacting to this video. And hang on because it's nearly 10 minutes long.
Jimmy's an Aussie icon. You've got to check out his due with John Farnham, When something is wrong with my baby. Hey Hey it's Saturday live version is best. Also the duet with the fabulous Tina Turner, Simply the best. Great reaction!
Great reaction, I love seeing people discover Aussie artists, we have a treasure trove of excellent music that the rest of the world has some how missed out on. If you want more bluesy Barnes then I would suggest listening to the live version of When something is wrong with my baby. I also has two other exceptional Aussie talents, John Farnham and Johnny Diesel and is just gods gift to ears lol
As an Aussie who has grown up with Barnsey (Cold Chisel formed when I was 9) his back catalogue is definitely worth a dive into. Freight Train Heart his 3rd solo & East Cold Chisel’s 3rd album are my faves. Fave colabs are The Weight with the Badloves, and Good Times with INXS.
He also dueted with Tina Turner 🥺🥺 This is haunting. The guitar wails, the vocals scraping with ernest, with soul😮.... What more can you ask for if you are chillin' on an old broken couch in the garage, with a can of beer, after a hard, productive day😂😂🎉 happy Easter to you, and thanks for your reactions, ...🙏
This is recent Jimmy, his voice is still rock solid. There are SOO many awesome versions of this song, including the original and also live and acoustic in the channel 7 studios. Now you have to go back and check out the brilliance that he exhibited during his time with Cold Chisel - some good ones include Wild Thing and Bow River (search up the "remastered epic version" from 2003). Also younger Jimmy as a solo artist - The Last Frontier or A Change is Gonna Come! I've been loving your reactions to Elton John's albums and also Phil Collins. Fire!

Check out Jimmy with his band Cold Chisel in their early days covering Wild Thing live, or their own song, Bow River live at the Ringside concert. When it comes to Cold Chisel, they are an out and out live band that has two lead singers and the other singer, Ian Moss, has a great voice too which complements Jimmy's voice. Cold Chisel have been performing for nearly 5 decades. They originally broke up in 1983 but got back together in 1997 and produced another 4 studio albums to go with their first 5 albums. They also have a heap of live albums, naturally.
