The look on your face when she started singing says it all. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Beth Hart
I envy anyone that gets to hear Beth for the first time. For me it was Mother Maria. Been hooked ever since
she ain't playing around, she's absolutely the real deal and a vocal powerhouse.
I've never heard her before. She's killer! I've only heard Etta James sing this song.
She sounds like atte james
She also reminds me of Janis Joplin.
Joe Bonamassa is one of the greatest guitarists of our generation and sadly unless you’re into the blues most people have never heard of him. The dude is amazing live.
Just like Stevie Ray Vaughan. Best ever🎸
Your so right about that and he's also a great human being, her career was over till he took her on tour and then financed that album with her ,I believe it was all recorded in Joe's studio with his band
JB and BH together are unreal. JB refused to succumb to the pressure of a label influencing his music, so he does it all himself. He’s an amazing guitarist, writer, and showman.
Amen brother, 2 very powerful instruments Joe playing and beth singing, never heard better.
The first time I heard of Joe B. was in a book I was reading. The main character was dancing to Joe's song Dust Bowl. So I had to check it out. Been hooked ever since. Started a station and Beth popped up. Love them both.
he answers with the guitar, just as great as she sang it. Insane❤
Beth Hart may be the best female blues singer in the world right now. Now you need to watch her do Am I the One live in Amsterdam. It is crazy and incredible.
Just don't watch that one with your daughter on hand. It's definitely a sexy time performance
Totally agree, but look up CeeCee James - the soul of Janis.
I agree, Am I the One-Live at Paradiso by Beth Hart is the best live performance there is and most likely always will be! It doesn't get more raw and powerful than this. Check that one out!
It’s a bitter sweet performance, I pray for her healing as she is suffering again and had to cancel her recent tour. Pray for Beth’s healing. 🙏
Guess you haven't heard Angelina Jordan sing this at age 12!
.....and now begins your trip to Bonamassa/Hart Wonderland.
Joe's solo is essentially playing the melody back to Beth with just as much soul, angst and pain as her vocals. It is a magical music moment.
Look up young Joe Bonamassa, he had an adult blues band while in junior high school
Beth Heart is one of the greatest comeback stories of rock/blues. She broke into music after she stared on Star Search and signed to Atlantic Records then everything came crashing down years after that she became addicted to drugs and alcohol. She was a binge drinker that alcohol still sometimes gets the best of her and she battled mental illness after her sister died of AIDS. And she overcame all that and rose back to the top after appearing next to Jeff Beck at the Kennedy Center Honors singing this song honoring the great blues guitarist Buddy Guy.
Great reaction... RIP Michael Rhodes, the bass player who passed away last Saturday 🙏
Beth Hart Am I the one live at Paradiso
There is no other, and I mean no other female singer like Beth. Oh my word, I absolutely love her voice
Beth is a magician vocally and Joe is simply a wizard on guitar with sooooooo many awards its CRAZY. MAKE THAT GUITAR TALK MAN!!!!! Together they blow my mind every time!!
My 33 year old son introduced me to Joe Bonamassa, wow have I brought him up well...... musically anyway!!😂😂🇬🇧
Yes you did!!
The vibrato in Beth Hart's voice is absolutely phenomenal! And Joe's mastery of a guitar is as it always is.
Beth Hart is a FORCE OF NATURE.
Sometimes, if you're lucky, you get to see and hear things that mesmerise your senses.
This performance also introduces us to perfect symmetry and flawless talent.
Holy cr*p! I actually started crying after the guitar solo! Whew!
Had to pull myself together. The agony of the lyrics is perfectly matched with the agony of the music. Cannot stop crying! Damn. That was divinely inspired.
Beth Hart is simply the best! No singer on the planet is better. Throw Joe up there on stage with her and it's simply perfection. They really bring out the best in each other.
The live version of I'll Take Care of You with these 2 incredibly talented artists is also worth a listen.
Absolutely agree. It’s a must listen!
Oh my gosh! Your little princess is ADORABLE!!! You're gonna need a big stick and a mean mug in ten years.
Perhaps a moat and an electric fence?😊
I just love the look on peoples faces when they first hear Beth Hart's voice. We've all been there, Sebs. Thanks for the great reaction.
Beth is a vocal Beast!! LOVE HER!! AND Joe is so Amazing Truely one of the best..... Them together some of the best you will ever hear!!!
Now that my good man is how it’s done 😎Can’t go wrong with Beth and Joe
Listen/watch/EXPERIENCE her perform Am I the One live in Holland. You will definitely need a cigarette afterwards, even if you don’t smoke. Make sure there are no little ears or eyes around though 😮
Watching amazed 2024, 🇬🇧❤ her personal story makes this even more fascinating.. your reaction and knowledge is priceless😍
I am 70 years old and she makes me cry everytime i hear this song , these two together are just magnificent
The supreme siren of the blues ❤️ She is a master on stage .
I’ve watched it 100 times and keep being taken to that place.
Me too
This is the best female blues singer on the planet...she recently released an album of Led Zeppelin covers, one of the few who has a voice that can do them actual justice - watch her video of Black Dog
❤👆 Yes please! Black Dog or Am I the One, you'll be different afterwards. 😊
Your face said everything! Secondly your daughter is the spitting image of her beautiful mother. Excellent reaction, Sebs.
If you haven't Caught Out In The Rain (live at Royal Albert Hall) 2018 is a must
I’m a huge fan of Beth Hart & JB, but I have to say your daughter stole the show when she came into the room. Such a cutie!
Hello friend here since Buenos Aires ARGENTINA.....ahí Fouri years ffound Beth HART is awasome.....all power all passion she is very honesty
Joe Bonamassa is a "must-see" Live. When I heard this Duet, it blew my mind. She's fabulous 👌
Welcome to the Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa deep and wonderful rabbit holes. Joe is a true guitar prodigy and Beth is a generational talent in her own right, enjoy the ride.
I've listened to this song a hundred times and can play the solo note for note. But watching someone experience it for the first time, I couldn’t help but share in that awe all over again. I ended up glued to the toilet for the entire performance, tears literally bursting from my eyes.
That’s right Seb! Surround your precious Babies with music!
What a guitarist..wow,! And what a voice whoooo!!Beth has
Beth is one of my favorites but my favorite singer/songwriter of all time is legendary rockstar Bob seger & he's worth checking out man. On another note, your daughter is so cute. You're so blessed with a beautiful family. I hope one day to be blessed with my own. Great reactions brother! Much love from down here in Texas!
Hands down my favorite reaction from you Sebs! There are several performances of Hart and Bonamassa that you can dig into. There are also many video performances of them individually with others. This is Beth touring and recording with Joe's band and he is a whole separate rabbit hole to go down. Joe was a bit of a child prodigy performing on stage with B.B. King at the age of 12 so he has legitimate blues credentials. You are correct when you exclaimed that Bethi is a generational vocal talent. She has a wealth of power and soul to harness, and she is a master at her craft. Thank you for such a wonderful reaction!
Treat yourself and listen to Joe play live at Red Rock… AMAZING!!!
Also, Beth and Joe doing "I'll Take Care of You" . Same Amsterdam performance I think. Each of them are amazing on their own but, together, greater than the sum of their parts.
Welcome to the world of Joe and Beth!!!
Your Daughter is Adorable! Joe Bonamassa is carrying on the Tradition of great Blues Guitar Slingers for this Generation. He has dozens of Duets and Collaborations with talented Singers and Musicians on UA-cam..
My all-time favorite performance, I've watched this hundreds of times and Beth still gives me goosebumps. Every time. Joe is phenomenal, and makes me proud to be of the same species. Opposable thumbs rule! I hope Beth and Joe keep teaming up and touring. I always wonder if the folks who bought tickets for this concert had any idea of what they were about to experience. Best performance ever.
Thank you!
check out Beth and Joe "I'll take care of you".....live please!!
The combination of Beth and Joe, just sublime. This performance brings me to tears every time.
Now, seriously you have to check out Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonamassa stone cold just as good two of my absolute favorites.
What a beautiful moment with your daughter. Cherish every moment. It goes so fast brother!!
One of the best live performances I've seen.
Thank for video and reaction.I listened to this piece " Rather go blind" sung by Etta James, Tina Turner ,Beyoncè and others. Some were great Interpretations In live others in studio , in movies with choruses, with vocalists, with "tears" flowing from eyes with long eyelashes, all certainly with participation according to their soul, but I can say that, at least for me, Beth, especially the version at the Paradise in Amsterdam. with Joe Bonamassa at guitar ,really put a soul, through voice and gestures, which encompasses love, fear, jealousy, resentment, anger and, at the end you feel the sweetness and pain together asking not to be abandoned and, preferring to say that it would be better to go blind not to see the betrayal Love from Roma,Italy.
Never heard of them ?? SHAME ON YOU 😉😎👀😂.
Joe is one of the best guitarists in the world. (it seems he has 300+ guitars at home).
Beth = ABSOLUTION WORLDS MUSICIAN WOMAN❤❤💯💤💤💤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We have to get Beth and Chris together!
You could spend the rest of your life listening to these two together and apart and never hear all that they create with their souls. I am always in awe everytime and try to hear them live whenever possible.
Hey, great reaction…from the moment Beth opens her mouth, most people instantly recognize they’re hearing something truly extraordinary. As expected, you were clearly bewitched-a “once in a generational voice” as you stated. Like SRV, Beth just channels the music. She leaves it all on stage every song, every show, every year-her performances are simply mesmerizing. This performance, however, just hints at her talents. Beth’s discography is a very deep and very diverse, including Rock, Blues, Blues Rock, Jazz, R&B, and Singer-songwriter ballads. Here are just a few absolutely mind-blowing suggestions for reaction:

Wow, this is the penultimate Beth Hart post and I concur!
Great post! I know it took you lots of time and energy. I appreciate it. My favourite is Caught Out in the Rain live at the Albert Hall.
@@nancyfranchetto938 I'm glad it was of use to you. Yes, that is a phenomenal performance (and concert). Check out these other performances of "Caught Out"--they're less polished but even more gritty:

Will do! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

Gives you goosebumps!!!!
Beth and Joe are those type of musicians who are so deep in the music that their live performances are so much better that their studio cuts. We are blessed to be able to see recordings of these two performing together.
If you like these kind of guitar solos, you need to dive deeper into blues. I have added a suggestion to your Upvote link that you should really check out. Gary Moore - The Messiah Will Come Again. Gary covers a beautiful Roy Buchanan classic instrumental and creates a masterclass performance combining different styles and techniques, but never sacrificing the feel and flow of the piece.
Seriously, watch Sloe Gin by Joe Bonamassa live at Red Rock. This incredible slow start that builds up to an absolutely amazing solo. You’ll add it to your family’s car list as well.
PS. Beth Hart and Jeff Beck performed I’d rather go blind at the Kennedy Center during Obama’s term. Same one when Led Zeppelin was recognized.
This song is actually the last encore of the concert. For me, Joe’s solo is the best ever, because of the way he plays to complement the song-not to impress other guitar players. And, what can you say about Beth? Just wow. It’s like the two were meant to perform together.
Fantastisch
Heart Exploding Performance! Loving your channel
Perfect ending to the song when your daughter walked in. She’s beautiful.
Joe is a great musician BUT Beth Hart is incredible!!! One of the best voices period. Must watch Am I the One live. She had just gotten out of rehab and...what a perfomance!
Joe Bonamassa is a prodigy. He toured with b.b. King as age of 14. A virtuoso to say the least
I'm 68, and my first genuine blues concert was a young Joe opening for Buddy Guy. Hooked on the blues, particularly blues guitar, for the rest on my life...still hooked. Love your reactions brother Sebs.
She is beautiful and looks just like you.
Yes, Beth and Joe destroyed this performance. Two of the very best, ever!
Dude Beth is one of the best vocalists around especially when she sings the blues. If you want check out something cool check out Jeff Beck and Beth Hart do purple rain c rom 2017.
RIP Michael Rhodes, bass player on many of Joe's performances.
THANKS SEB 💞💞for sharing this video, that was sooooooooooo AMAZING i never heard of this women or man but no i going to put this on my playlist and play HIGH when the neibor are at work. THANKS AGAIN I GOT TO LISTEN ONE MORE TIME 💞💞🎸🎸🎸🎸👏👏
You will not find a better combo of singer and guitar player. Beth is everything you saw here and more, and Joe Bonamassa is one of the greatest guitarists that you'll ever see. When he was like 10 or 12 years old, he was invited to come and play with John Lee Hooker on stage at a concert and Hooker said he was amazed and how a "kid" could play this good. JB, in my opinion, is in his own right, the best blues guitarist ever.
Omg I've watched your reaction b4 but when your lovely daughter blows Beth❤ kisses... awe! Beth ALONE is ALWAYS PERFECTION (I've seen her in concert) no big show with 30 other people on stage, just her & her amazing band, her AMAZING VOICE, PIANO & guitar playing.. as well as JOE'S PERFECT GUITAR playing, it blows MY mind too, EVERY TIME I WATCH THIS! LOVE ya JOE 🎸 LOVE ya BETH ❤
Thank God I have been exposed to music like this growing up. This is miraculous and pure beautiful soul voice wise and guitar wise. They both call out to you and talk to your soul. God blessed these two people. There are no words with the guitar yet there are. What MAGIC!!!🙏🙏🙏
That is the BEST performance in any rock/blues video. That was phenomenal. Words escape me for the magnitude of how amazing this was! Also, he asked why there was two drummers! That’s the result of an arrogant and inept record producer/manager to get in the middle of Joes band. I don’t know the specifics but he got in a scrabble with the best drummer Joe ever had with Anton Fig holding the sticks! I have no proof of that but I totally believe that is why Anton left the band!!!
I first heard "I'd Rather Go Blind" sung by Rod Stewart when I was a teenager in the early '70s. I knew then that it was a special song, but I didn't hear any different versions for many, many years. I'd always assumed it was Rod's song.
Then all of a sudden, I began hearing versions by everyone and their brother.
I guess it's a testament to the song itself that I've rarely heard a bad version.
Then you have Beth Hart with Joe Bonamassa.
Just wow.
There are few things that are as beautiful as well sung and played blues and blues-rock. Your little girl has your smile! 👌🎸
Everyone has a crush on Beth when they hear her for the first time.
That's usually everybody's reaction the first time you hear Beth Hart sing . My absolute favorite female vocalist ever ! And Mr. Joe Bonamassa is in my top 3 guitarist and Joe was opening for BB King at 12 years old when his parents allowed him to . He's a beast and has his own independent label .
Almost exactly 20 years ago, Joe was touring the country with a program called Blues in Schools and talked and performed for my sons middle school band class. When he came home and told me about it, I looked Joe up and knew he had seen something special and he didn’t even realize it. Joe is a prodigy that was touring with BB King when he was 12.
I’m looking forward to seeing him here in concert next month in Oklahoma City.
Two of the best in the business. Great reaction.
One of the best covers I have ever seen. Vocals off the scale. Guitar playing like I’ve never heard before. Amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You know she has walked the blues. Outstanding. I was fortunate enough to see Etta James live in a small club in San Francisco more than once years ago and I feel Etta would love Beth's emotional depth here. Thanks 🎉
She’s precious! ❤
Cool! that you know of Etta James. I am new to Beth, and am amazed at her "back to the past" blues singing - no auto-tune, etc. I do know that she's had struggles, and hope that she can overcome and keep on representing. Your (younger?) daughter is a doll!
Beth is using her vibrato in her lower register. I'm so glad she is back what a talent
BEAUTIFUL. Beats the hell out of rap and hip hop. I'm 74 so I'm hooked on doo wop , 60s and 70s and definitely the blues. TOTALLY AWESOME VIDEO , about the 4th time I've seen it and it gets better if that's possible
Beth Hart’s version of A Change is Going to Come is absolutely amazing. One of my favorite female vocalist .
I had the same reaction when I got to see it the first time. She won star search back when Ed McMahon(hope I spelled his name right) was the host. Her vocals are the bomb. Whatever it is, she has the chops for it. Buy this Blu-ray , you'll be glad you did!!
That's my favorite live performance. Hell it tops most studio performances. Also I felt that your response the first genuine _first response_ I've seen on UA-cam.
Wowwwww! I've never heard this version. Love love love ❤️ it! Beth is fantastic! She and Joe are a musical match made in heaven! Thanks for sharing! I love your reaction. You and sound like a musician yourself. Iv that's your passion, go for it. You only go around once. Grab the gusto while you can. My brother is 72and still plays every weekend and any other time he can. Sits in on others sessions. He's been playing since he was a young teenager.
She's won 3grammys fot best blues entertainor❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Introducing me to Beth and Joe in the same day? I am gobsmacked 😮😮 twice! Thank you, Sebs..
I'm new to your channel . I loved your reviews of Pink Floyd live at the Pulse concert and your love and appreciation of Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart made my heart glad. I will continue to follow you. And as a proud father of two daughters (and four sons), I must say your daughter is adorable.
You found a rabbit hole of two amazing artists. both are phenomenal together and on their own. Beth's vocals with that eargasim vibrato in almost every word, and Joe's notes matching the lyrics and tempo to Beth's singing, True masterpiece.
Seen Beth live four times and she does not disappoint great talent and honesty.
Your daughter stole my heart.
I miss those years
Her voice + his guitar = the perfect storm
This entire concert is outstanding. I’ve watched it on Blu-ray with a great sound system. Next best thing to being there. Joe got plenty of nice solos during the concert but Beth was definitely the featured artist. The band playing with Joe is great too. Anton Fig on drums. Played in Paul Shafers band on Letterman’s Late night show for many years. The horn section had a blast during the concert as well. Adding percussion parts at times.
As you said this is fantastic. The music at its best. This quality of live gigs i want to go. Rarely of never will.
