As long as the motor is not seized up I would simply soak the cylinders in penetrating oil for awhile then take out the plugs and push the starter button to let the compression push and crap out of the cylinders, then repeat the process a few times more and recheck with your bore scope. You may save yourself a lot of time and money. The carb is nothing, just needs a cleaning and put it back on. I revived motors like this before. You just have to be patient and give those cylinders time to soak in a penetrant that dissolves rust . I wouldn’t start pulling things apart just yet. Good luck with it!
Down towards the bottom of the dash is a round thing with a black center. Pop the black center out and there's another screw under there. Does the motor turn?
@@shameless6963 I found it ,thanks. All the tanks I saw on UA-cam had a bolt there, not that cover, but I popped that little black cap out and found the bolt. Thanks, Buddy.
Keep me in mind BigEd for those beautiful green tins and bags I have a friend in Florida for the winter Hopefully not as bad as it looks in the engine bay Peace out ✌🏾 ✊🏾
@truthbetold-jq8iw I put some in,but it is pretty bad in them. I don't want to rotate engine till I see if the water got into the bottom end. It is really crusty in there. I'm going to cut the push rods so I can get the heads and rocker boxes off without warping them. I think the water is just in the top end, fingers crossed.
It's a shame somebody would let that happen. But I see and I like watching videos of found automobiles in the geckos yeah I've had that mustang in there for 30 years I'm going to do something with it someday while it's slowly deteriorates
@ElectraWillem yeah , I'm going to pull the heads off and check. If it's just the topend, then I will just do the top. If water got into the bottom end it's a different story. Thanks
@@daviddavis2321 I have to pull the heads and have a look inside. I'm hoping the water did not get past the rings into the lower end. I checked the oil when I bought it, and it looked fresh, so there may be hope.
Looks like you got lots of good signs and it may be OK in a long run. Safety prayers for your surgery man and speedy recovery.
Man, you got you a real project.

Wow 🏍️
In a flip, it always looks worse until it gets done. Good luck with it Frank.
Lay the Marvel mystery oil to those cylinders before pulling those heads. It's worth a try to see if the motor will even turn over with the plugs out.

When I go to flip one and I just like to wash and wax it and send down the road . But you can't go wrong for a thousand dollars .
@larry68hd11 I'm working my way up your level. I like tinkering around.with them. Who knows, I may end up keeping it. Lol
@edZILLA64 yeah you need another one LOL
I just don't have the patience to work on them anymore

The dash might come off under that medallion toward the seat I don't know never had a road king had all kinds of other stuff
@@MoeLarrycurly1 it was under that Medallion. Thanks.
@edZILLA64 I was guessing ..🤭
Just take that engine out and check it out. Maybe you are lucky. It's still a nice bike!

To bad you cant rebuild the motor and then sell it .

A fast hone and frest rings if it has rust . @@edZILLA64
