I'm binge watching Bangles interviews at 3 in the morning. Love it.
Ahshahahahahahs 01:08 here!!!
I'm doing it and its 3 years later, 9/19/2022. I guess it is an eternal thing. They're Great!
This was 23 years ago (2023). Wow time flies.
If I had to choose, I would choose any of them and/or all of them. All goddeses, clean cut, no tatoos, no gossip. ❤❤❤❤🥰😍
Good interviewer. Relevant and intelligent question about their music instead of boyfriends, make-up, male groupies and that sort of BS.
What a wonderful group of beautiful and talented women. I wish I could meet the all and hug them.
Susanna is one of the most beautiful creatures God ever created.
Sometimes god gives with both hands
Blokes start dribbling in her presence. If she was in The Kardashians I’d watch it.
She appears grounded.
Love The Bangles. Great music to have while my eyes are feasting on Susanna. My straight pride is kicking in. God it’s good to be a man.
Ditto to cowpattycreek!
I was always a Vicki kind of guy, myself with a smaller thing for Micki. I thought she was more personable and sexy than Susannah who I perceived as high maintenance at the time. Susannah is stunning now. But they all are.
I’m glad they were able to work out their differences and become close again. They all seem to have a good understanding of what caused them to split up.
The best womens band that was ever created. The harmonies are incredible & so intrinsic to their sound. I absolutely love this band & still remember ever lyric from the mid 80’s. I only wish I could’ve been a quarter this cool when singing in my lousy tribute bands
yeah but you don`t get it..why the best " womans " band...why not just a good band ? the beatles were good too
The Go Go's
All bands and relationships should watch this interview
Micki is very cool here. And I could look at and listen to Vicki for hours, very attractive and engaging woman.
micheal steele what a captivating woman
i'm with you, always my favorite...
@@dnstap the ogre?
@@dnstap Mine too. I love them all but Michael has always been my favorite. I wish we could get an update from her or from one of the others if she is still in touch with any of them (probably Vicki) just letting us know that Michael is well and happy. She has really vanished off the face of the earth.
Wow , beautiful lady
@@richmurray8992 I'm close to several of them (not naming names) and one who is back with them, that was an original. She's currently editing the Bangles Biography and that should be out shortly. All are very good friends. Micki is doing amazing!
They all look and sound great here. I wish the four were still playing together, I love The Bangles.
Bangle binging. 3 nights now. It will pass. For now I will enjoy this fine wine
Same!!! Trying to find as many new live videos!!!
OMG I would think this would have millions of views.. but as before the Bangles are so under rated as a band.. love this band..even with the in fighting lol :D
Even their most recent concert they sound amazing. Check it out here on youtube. Bangles 2019 KaaBoo. Even though Micahel has retired, the other ladies still sound amazing.
Greatest Band!
Great interviewer too. Very professional. The ladies are just awesome
Except for his research. Different Light was their 3rd album. They had an Indie record on Faulty Records in 1983.
@@shawnuel Just an EP though. AOTP was the first full-length album.
Matured beautifully Like a Fine Wine !
The greatest Fab 4 since The Beatles.
They all look great!
I was looking earlier this morning to see if they would pass through Wisconsin soon!!!
I loved the part with Vikki talking about her not being the best musician... but their good!! Their a good band! Also with Susanna talking about songs that they write and question whether they could be Bangles songs. These ladies are so refreshing to listen to! I believe they are all around 60 years old but they are so relevant and so modern and they just want to write and play!
I also liked hearing them point out about how selective they are about when, where, what they play.. and of course that they all waited until each of them was ready to start back at it again. I think it's very important as well that they come at this a second time as truly let's pick up where we left off vs trying to relive the 80s. Granted they were amazing. I was in my single digits in the 80s but I loved this group! I would absolutely love to see them in small venues! The up close and personal experience can just not be replaced. Especially with a wonderful band like the Bangles!
I would totally dig hearing them stop in the middle of a song to start over cause they missed something!!! Lol! I watched a video last night where Susanna was playing this small venue and in-between songs she was tuning her guitar and asked if anyone had any questions.!!! WOW!!! I know that seems so insignificant but to a fan.. omg! To see your idols in low-key atmosphere where you just get to enjoy the music in a pleasant place and they can simply enjoy they're listeners and even have some interaction. So incredible! I totally would love to see these ladies!
I think Michael is the strongest musician of the four and I would say is really underrated as a bassist (and guitarist), but they are for sure all really good musicians and together they were a really solid band. Michael and Debbi made a great rhythm section together.
Proud I grew up in L.A. along with these cool Cali chicks:)
Susanna soy mexicano y megusta toda su música saludos a las cuatro son hermosas saludos desde Minnesota
Vicki & the other look lovely after all these years.
You can't tell how old they really are by looking at them.
Wow, thanks, Sherlock.
My personal favorite songs by the Bangles are Hero takes a fall, and Pushin' too hard.
GREAT interview!! Loved this!
I AGREE WITH MARTSURFER. I LIKE HOW VICKIE'S SPEECH IS LANGUAGED . THIS IS NATURAL FOR HER .I HAVE PICTURES OF MICHAEL PLAYING HANGING IN MY CUBE AT WORK.
Excellent interview!
How do they do beautiful?!? Sound good to, youthful and energetic. So glad to see them doing so well. Good band, good music, good people. Personally I think they are all beautiful. My favorites are Susana and vickie, but by a hair. Love Michael and Debbie too.
in a way I feel like U2 and their ilk cheated me in the 80's. As a young Irish lad I felt it my duty to follow U2, and simple minds and Big Country to some extent. If you weren't into stadium rock there was something wrong with you and yeah, those guys rocked but damn... there was so much more to the 80's that passed a lot of us by. Like this group... Hazy shade of winter is still one of my absolute favourites...
Great interview with the girls.
House of Blues? I saw the girls and the instruments and I thought they were gonna pull off a Bangles version of c'mon in my kitchen or something but not a single goddamn song... still, lovely to see them 30+ years on ...and isn't Vicki just gorgeous? Thanks for the upload bro...
The Bangles are great because no matter a mans taste in women there is a great variety of beauty and someone for everyone. So much better than say the Spice Girls who are all singers, some better than others and not a real band that formed normally, so naturally a flash in the pan fad with no longevity and cannot be taken seriously. Bangles such a contrast to that type of fluff. Real musicians and real singers. Great role models for our daughters as opposed to the skanks the media/aka fake news literally have thrust in our faces more as soft porn than music.
I love the idea that they're great because they appeal to the tastes of men. And you go downhill from there.
Does Susanna Hoffs ever not look smokin' hot? Beyond gorgeous.
Very sexy eyes! Her speaking voice is much different that her singing voice. It's like an an octave lower with a little bit of raspiness to it.
Lmao 😂🤣😅 Truth. She's gorgeous forever.
"We're gettin the band back together"
"Rollin' rollin' rollin'..."
Hope nobody minds if I absolutely point out that AND RAISE UP RECOGNITION for MICHAEL (Micki) STEELE! And the (not at all highest charting) but most brutal, raw, aggressive, loud, sweaty, talented female OR MALE teenage rock pioneer soldiers in history!! After only jamming in Sandy West's mom's house less than 2 weeks, Joan Jett and third member, Steele laid down an album's worth of tracks as the 15 year old RUNAWAYS when the roller coaster started!
My baby (Susanna) looking really good as usual.
Four nice looking ladies and they should of each been given more attention than they did.
yeah they look good
Suzanna Hoffs wanted to be the next Belinda Carlisle, who also left a successful band for an even bigger international solo career. The mistake in Suzanna's thinking was she thought she could duplicate Belinda. But Belinda's sound and stage presence is unique and much stronger than Suzanna's. Belinda was meant for solo greatness. Suzanna was very much part of the puzzle in her band- they needed each other- Belinda did not need her band for success. The Bangles never achieved the status or respect that the Go Gos achieved- The Go Gos being the first successful female band, and first #1 record, wrote and played all their own material and their punk rock roots came out in their music. They were HUGE. The Bangles, even with all their singles success- having 5-6 major hits, never could live up to the Go Gos and Suzanna was always in Belinda's shadow. Big fan of the Bangles and the Go-Gos and Belinda's solo career- but if we are going to be honest in an objective way - we know in our hearts the Go-Gos were superior in every way- even if we personally like the Bangles more than the Go Gos or Suzanna more than Belinda, it doesn't change the truth. Also, Prince made the Bangles with "Manic Monday." No Prince, No Bangles- The Go Gos had Belinda and they kicked and screamed to the top on their own merits.
Yeah, What you said is a truth bomb. Fans don't like hearing stuff like this. The Go-Gos album sales, tours, and status/respect in the industry still have not been surpassed by any other female band 40+ years later. Belinda's solo career was pretty big in the 80s- 3 successful Go Go albums and then 3 successful solo albums in the USA. I didn't realize she was even bigger overseas- she was huge throughout the world right through the 90s.
Great interview
I remember Sanremo festival in 1987.....wonderful.....the Bangles and Duran Duran together
love vicki hair so nice
When I was young I had a major crush on all of these women they are still beautiful even today I'm amazed
The Bangles have aged really well.A great talented band.
So hope they tour England in the near future.
wow
great quality
Best band of the universe!!!
Susanna barely ages. 20 years after this she still looks almost the same. Would be scary to see the painting she had hidden in the attic.
Debbie peterson wow
I wonder if there's was some kind of beef between the original founders of the Bangles Suzanne, Vickie and Debbie against the bassist Steele and that was the real reason she left the group?
They're women. Women will always eat each other given enough time.
Ive been thinking about WLaE lately and the secret to the universe may be buried in there somewhere. Seriously, what a group of lovely people.
I love Vicki Peterson! ❤️
Excellent interviewer.
Susie & Debbie were my faves
Continental Drifters was a mighty good band check out their album Vermillion to see what I mean.
Are they in the Hall Of Fame yet??
Entrevue très intéressante
They're AWESOME 💯👍👍🎶🎊🎊
Where was this interview taped? I want to go to that bar!
The House of Blues in West Hollywood, California.
Micheal was from another generation eh?
Come to the UK
Très bon ce groupe
Toute ma jeunesse
Love Suzanne
Very nice .
Interesting. They're all being very careful about what the say, but there's an undercurrent of things hinted at that give you an idea of what's really going on.
Truth. I get the feeling Michael and Susanah R close and the main beef R the sisters got jeolous of the press obsession with Sussanah as the reason The Bangles disbanded initially. That's just my two cents ob what happened but they seems to have the trust back so it's all good.
I find it funny that this was pre conrona and they are 6 feet apart
man these ladies don't age goddamn! they look even better now than they did back then
Nice
These are the nicest women on the pop scene!
Why the hell didn't you all just spend a year working to create an ideal single for Vicki?
Still on everything there's no single for Vicki.
Not that she needs all the bullshit press, but in the original bangles, Vicki is the bandleader. She is the primary songwriter. She is the source of the bangles.
So to have a greatest hits where she gets HALF A CREDIT TOTAL really illustrates just how much the label skewed the bangles to make them palatable for general audiences.
Everyone thinking Susanna was the lead singer was frustrating, but completely undermining Vicki's contribution is what was the real death of the bangles.
All of Susanna's everything songs are written by external writers.
Why?
Don't get me wrong, I'll set you free is a great song, but... Wasn't eternal flame enough? Why couldn't she and Vicki have worked together on the rest? I mean in your room is great, but it's no better than James and hero takes a fall.
It does have a single-esqye fraudulence to it.
It's Susanna's sex kitten anthem. But if you tell Vicki that's what you want, she and sue can come up with something better.
The bangles were just so much better than your average 3 album deal band.
Plus they were so diverse.
Watching her rain song on aol... It's one of my least favorite Vicki songs, but how is she any different than Sheryl crow or any number of women that had hits?
Like why not?
And how difficult and awkward for both of them.
Because on one hand, Susanna does have a beautiful voice, but the company really could have supported Vicki more.
And then when they did make Susanna do a solo record it was terrible.
When you're a boy is the weirdest album.
It has great moments but too much crap.
That's why girls cry isn't just campy, it's terrible.
Made of stone is no waiting for you.
It's almost like being a highlight on bangles records just worked better than being a solo vocalist.
Plus her backups made songs.
Her backing on want you or angels don't fall in love make those songs greater.
What would you do if you had to market the bangles but you weren't allowed to ever use Susanna singles?
You can use different light, but not walk like an Egyptian.
Restless
Silenttreatment
Liverpool
Different light
Standing in the hallway
Angels don't fall in love
SomeDreamsComeTrue
WatchingtheSky
CrashandBurn
Bottom line, if you pushed those songs on the public, they'd buy it, so why exploit Susanna?
The mismanagement of the bangles is one of my greatest irritations in music.
Susanna is THE BEST !!!
Hola Feliz Sabado Guapas God bles you 💃🌈🌠👏🎼🎵🎶🎹🎤🎺 🌚 que Dios las Bendiga Siempre del 👑 corona Viruz Covid Abrazo desde chicago
Susana Hoffs is so hot
Yeah she is
hope they perform with michael at least one last time
Prince was hoping after he wrote and gave the song Manic Monday to the Bangles he thought Suzanne H would let him bang her.
She's a beautiful woman so I don't blame him for trying.
The bass player seems a bit homely and most likely to gain weight as her but was getting wider by the show.
I love the two sisters, Debbie and Vickie.
They are intelligent, attractive and both doinkable.
The truth is I don't know why Mony interrupts Michael, stand up because he wants to be the center of attention, that's great! 🤦
I put Ketchup on everything
Jay is counting is blessings trust me.
All the guys going on and on about Susanna's looks but if she didn't sing I wouldn't care.
Vicky insiste en usar esa remera manga larga y distraer a los comentarista 😳😯😲😮🤭🤣😂
Xq el camagrografo nno enfoco a miky solo a debby y salteo y mostro a mony y biky q le pasa a ese. naboleti 😞
Yes yes Susan is great but ffs what are the rest chopped liver? There’s 3 other gorgeous and talented women there who have always been there lol
Perhaps the interviewer should have done some research before the session. Very generic questions that could have been asked of anyone. I wonder if he really knew the history of the band and its' members.
Vicki Peterson is a goddess.
If this man has a leader it is most likely Vicki Peterson.
So Micki Steele is a man underneath? Michael?!!
Vicki is da 🦊
Las chicas se ven cansadas y tristes 🤫😔
All hotties still
Not all bands are like the Rolling Stones and can continually perform for a long time. Four women especially could never do that. Too much drama.
Micki should not be getting hung up on that.
Make your audience happy, first band foremost. Your best music is behind yaz. That's just physiological reality.
What went wrong? Nothing. They're women. In the long run, they always stab each other in they back.
Harsh but true. btw , dudes ain't no different.
If Gene Simmons was a girl...Michael Steele.
Annette is my favorite, but she wasn't with them then, this is between the time she left & before she came back.
Annette was maybe the best singer of them all.....wonder why she didn't sing with them...? I love a lot of the Blood on the Saddle stuff esp when she sings.
Annette who? Aneette Is only flop 😂 😂😂😂😂😂
The time between Annette left and came back, is the whole Bangles career!!
Mayhawk 7, You're showing that you don't know much about the Bangles.
Before Annette left the band in '83, she never wrote or co-wrote any of their songs, & she never sang a note on any of their songs. Annette only played (& still only plays) bass. That'it, nothing else. Just plays bass.
Sam Bradley, how can Annette be your favorite?
She never wrote any songs, & she never sang (or songs now) on any of the Bangles songs! She only plays the bass.
And, hate to tell ya, but Michael could (& still can) play circles around Annette.
What does it take to shut Susanne up?? Jeez what an annoying woman, she talks over Michael, talks over Debbie, and really loudly, plus she answers ever question almost till the end, she finally let Vikki and Debbie talk, poor Michael...I no longer like Hoffs, plus I always liked Vikki's voice better...I'll take Angels and Crash and Burn anyday..
Su seems to be constantly looking to/at Vicki.....knows who the alpha female is, I suppose.
Agree, I thought Vikki really had it together from day one, took a lot of makeup and clothes changes to get S.H. to do the rolling eyeball thing. And I still would rather hear Vikki sing any song than Sue, Sue's good especially with Vikki and Debbies luscious harmonies, but Vikki is alpha and much more of a rocker...
noticed it, too. annoying. lots say how hot or sexy su looks. urgh. come one girl. let everybody talk. I LOVE MIKKI!
I'm ten minutes in and I don't hear what you're hearing. Her answers are a little long compared to the others I guess, but she's just offering up her own perspective on the situation. At many points, she pauses before answering, clearly waiting to see if anyone else will answer. They're all talking over each other and interrupting at various points too, not just Sue. Joking, laughing, clarifying, etc. This is a pretty informal interview anyway so I'm not quite sure what the big deal is. The others don't even seem to mind.
Vicki, I believe, is the real leader of The Bangles. 😊
Lets call it the House of TRANSGENDERS
?
What does that even mean.... some hidden code in there?
Michael looks old.
MS is the oldest...45y here. Still quite lovely. The other three, esp Vicki, seem a bit more fit and that helps. The Petersons, again esp Vicki, always have been fairly athletic. And Su had a lot of ballet in her youth. Morale: stay in shape and look your best.
Este viejo de mierda siempre le tira kk a Michael, se nota a kilómetros que no le gusta Michael y le gusta la flopera de Annette.
Sam Bradley: Wow, that's really nice of you to say that. O_o.
5:12 - The great Benny Andersson of AꓭBA famously said on TV, "It's a lot easier to say No at 74".
