The woman has turned crippling social anxiety into a goldmine. I was listening to her on the Mike Birbiglia podcast, and she said she goes out there and her mind turns into loud static, and this is what comes out of her mouth.

People saying she’s weird, but all I’m seeing is how most normal (smart and funny, but normal) people would act if they were on a talkshow. We’re so used to the _abnormal_, the unrealistically quick wit and acted out dialogue, that we think this is weird. Aubrey is not weird. She is just real.

I don’t know about you guys but she seems to have gotten a lot more comfortable in interviews over the years with more experience. She seems a lot more capable of plugging whatever movie or project she’s promoting without feeling weird or “fake”.
Who do you think interviews her the best? When she started out in her early 20s she was entertaining but visibly nervous on Letterman (which is understandable since he’s intimidating to a lot of guests). Her handful of Fallon appearance were not great and she was on Conan way more than any other show (he’s good at matching her energy imo). Colbert seems to be the second best at interviewing her? In any case, it’s always entertaining and funny watching her despite (because of?) her nerves, which makes her even more endearing to me.
Update: as of today (September 25), this video has gotten 118K views and according to UA-cam Analytics, 94% of the viewers are male (similar to by previous Aubrey video…why is UA-cam only pushing it out to men? Do women not like her or something?). Also similar is the age breakdown, which is interesting to me (someone please explain…):
    13-17 years old: 0%
    18-24: 0.4%
    25-34: 1.8%
    35-44: 10%
    45-54: 24%
    55-64: 32%
    65+ : 31%

You’re correct. Conan and Colbert can improv with whatever happens. The Off Camera interview with Sam was also well done. He got good information, but it was less about comedy.

Look at the interview she just did with Desi Lydic at the Daily Show. At 02:50 she clearly catches herself, the old Aubrey that would have committed to the absurd bit about the dog.

I never heard of her before but after watching this clip I'm going to have watch her movies and tv shows.
    Very funny person.
Most of her humor appears to be real. Most actors are always acting. Even if something embarrassing happens to them during an interview they always stay in character and make it work.
What you see on these talk shows is her. It is what you would look like if a talk show host brought you on stage from the audience and started asking questions. You would fumble and mumble and say dumb things.
I like her because she is not fake.

I don’t find her odd one bit. Just unrehearsed and relatively genuine. Actually I’ve had a gigantic crush on her when Parks first season premiered and literally the only reason I chose to watch it.. She’s my kind of an ideal woman. She’s a complete package. Always thought she was really angelic and totally opposite of dark or dangerous. A heartbreaker? I can see that but unintentionally . If she’s a demon then please send me to hell. Didn’t she have a major stroke in her early twenties and had to relearn how to talk??

In a weird way, she’s the most authentic person on these talk shows because when you think about it, that is a weird situation to be in. It’s not normal to sit in front of an audience and have a conversation with a host and act like there’s not an audience there. I kind feel she’s the only actor who is authentically herself because she’s like “this is weird” and I feel weird in this situation. Either way, I’m fascinated by and fully supportive of her
