I wish the multi GPU concept wasn't abandoned. ATI used to occasionally make the best GPUs in the world, but not AMD. Greedy corporations won't bring back multi-gpu support because it will cannibalize the sales of top-tier GPUs. Shame that Vega 2 Pro Duo is mack-only, that gpu would be fun to play with in a Windows system

The kid won it at a Lan party and never used it, I guess he didnt wamt to mess with the radiator placement and already had a gtx1080. He had no idea what it was either as it was just in a brown looking oem box. It was a monster of card. lot of power and heat. I Ilisted it onLIne for $400 and it sold within a few days. I flip a lot of cards and usually dont care about them but this one I was semi attached to as it was so strange and rare.
Radeon Pro Duo is one of those examples that if AMD really wants to give a crazy fast GPU, they can deliver (even if the efficiency is thrown out of the window).
The 980Ti/TitanX is holding up good in 1080p. I wish i have not sold mine a few years ago, with custom cooling it got to 1360 Mhz(boost) no problem. Probably the best overclocking modern GPU i ever had.
@@nexus_tech I exchanged my GTX 970 + about 150-200$ at that time, i think it was in 2017. It was an EVGA 980 Ti reference, and i installed on it an Accelero Xtreme III i already had. Fascinating look at the rarefied mid-teens powerhouse GPUs (that I never met anyone in person who had one). The Titan X has been on my radar recently as the next step in my 2010 Mac Pro - and possibly my last one, as the bottleneck is starting to appear even with a Titan Black (I play cRPGs mostly - and they are processor heavy and I play on a CRT at 1600x1200). I believe the X is the last generation of Titan that supports analog signal natively through the port with an adapter (otherwise needing active conversion, I want to keep my 75hz or higher refresh without a $250 box). I am starting to consider revamping my retro-modern system - leaving my beloved $50 Mac Pro behind (no complaints not one, at all - and I run Linux now, previously Windows 10, previously previously High Sierra-Big Sur). I can hold 75 fps in MOST things keeping in line with the CRT, but in games that lack refined optimization (PoE, Pathfinder: KIngmaker, Solasta) the balance just isn't working here. Baldur's Gate 3, Titan Black, 1600x1200 with FSR on Quality - can pull nearly 60 fps - so when I get 30-40 in Kingmaker, any graphics quality... I know it's probably not really my rig... And I also know that something more modern, with perhaps a newer card, will yield better results... like my gaming PC that really checks email and watches UA-cam... Retrogeek way of life, man, it's rough ;) Edit: I've also been putting a lot of thought towards the Vega 56/64 era - the earlier requires no power mod to the Mac, though I think I lose the analog stuff - which is why I keep shying away. CRTs are a pain, especially in Linux, and I've had problems before with non-native analog signals. However, the state of Linux gaming on last (or last last last) gen hardware is getting really impressive since the Steam Deck. And Linux, even gaming distros, are light - Garuda Linux's gaming OS is remarkably capable right out of the box. I don't want to seem like a Linux pusher, I know it's faults (I guess I don't value my time, LOL) - but I feel like it's part of my quest here, and I like rapping with you :)

I purchased a different version of the Pro Duo back in 2017; after watching your video, I do recall having a difficult time researching this particular card because I would get benchmarks for the Pro Duo Fiji instead. My Newegg invoice from the time says the GPU was advertised as "Radeon Pro Duo 100-506048 32GB (16GB per GPU) GDDR5 CrossFire Supported Full-Height/Full-Length Workstation Video Card" and it cost $870 new. Are you familiar with this version of the Pro Duo? I'm trying to sus out how it compares to other cards and if the unique design lends itself towards any advantages that aren't shared by other cards today.
Well, I can't find any second-hand ones for some time now. I'm not sure how many of these AMD shifted in total. The X299 Dark is very good, so far, so good 👍 currently testing the RTX A2000

What you bought is the Radeon Pro Duo Polaris. It's basically 2x RX480 on one card, although clocked down a bit to stay more efficient.
