i got the 1080 ti paired with a 12700k and honestly my system feels balanced at 1440p. Was just gonna use it as a temporary solution of the bad market in the early 2022 but it has served me well and if it wasn´t for starfield i would keep it in my system for atleast another gen
I ended up buying a NUC Raptor Canyon which comes with an i7-13700k and threw my 1080Ti in there. So far its been a 1440/60fps beast on high/ultra settings.
Good honest video. EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 here paired with Ryzen 7600 and Strix B650E mobo. Recent base upgrade from i7 3770K @5Ghz poured a new life into this beast, simply amazing card... Rocking under complete custom water loop keeps it cool, superquite, WITHOUT COILWHINE (curse of modern graphics cards) and willing to run between 1980-2100 Mhz. Playing @1440p is perfectly fine with some occasional graphics settings needed to be lowered a bit but boy, I am so happy I've bought this card I've always dreamed about (owned 780Ti Classy >> 980 Ti Classy >>) few years back! Although I am VERY tempted to upgrade, seeing all those benchmarks (AND prices!!!) is putting me off with no desire so far (been eyeing for 7900 XTX but I am affraid that I'll greatly miss G-Sync). So 1080 Ti it is for another cycle i guess...let's just hope it'll last until it meets it's future itself..! Thanx for the video, It's satisfying! :)
After the 1080 Ti was released the share holders said "stop, you're wasting our chances to gain more money, build crappier cards and charge the consumer more money"
That thing is WAYYY too big. So much so in fact that if someone gave me one for free, I'd just sell it immediately. The 1080 Ti has the perfect size and power consumption for a flagship card.
@@federicocatelli8785 Actually, it wasn't until the 3090 that Nvidia decided to go WAY OVERBOARD on the size and power consumption for the "Titan" class cards. All Titans before the 3090 had 250 watt maximums and a 2-slot thickness. Although even the 3080 started to jump over the 250 watt maximum board power as well.
@@arnox4554Just do what I did and spend the extra money on a AIO unit. Only cost $150 then MSRP for a FE 4090 and I got the MSI Suprim Liquid Cool X. It's a 2 slot card that fit my case perfectly and had a 240mm fan/rad to easily mount.
Still using that beast. I’m upgrading my setup (from 6700k + 16gb ddr3 to 14700kf + 64gb ddr5), and I see no point to upgrade it to something like 4070 (+1gb winning for that price, really?). So my point is to upgrade to 4080 even 4090. Thanks for the review btw
I manage to use my 1080 till 2023 .. But TI version is masterpiece... Price and performance.. we will never have gpu's to be like Pascal's price to performance ratio..

I still own a GTX 1080 Ti and i still love it, i can play pretty much anything, except for Alan Wake 2, but aside from that I still don't need the urge to upgrade just yet.
I still use my GTX 1080 ti , main reason was Nvidia 3D Vision but can not forgive Nvidia for dropping driver support for 3 D Vision it made my 3D PC build miserable and left me with a lot of 3D Vision kit rendered useless i will never buy from Nvidia again in the Future.
The 1080ti is a legend, but I've always had a soft spot for Titan Xp (little p) as is the most powerful of what I call "old school" gpus. It lacked any ray tracing or tensor cores. I had one with a Raijintek Morpheus 2 air cooler and 2 120mm fans. It was fantastic for the time.
Still rocking a Titan Xp. This thing will still SHRED through Blender workloads. Since I barely play any modern games, I've seen no reason to upgrade from this GPU for years, and even when I replace it later down the line, I'm gonna keep my Titan Xp with me and not sell it. In my opinion, the 1080 Ti Founder's Edition (or Titan Xp nowadays) is the final gold standard for what all consumer GPUs should be measured against. Whether in form, reliability, total power consumption, cooling solution (yes, I actually like the blower design), or in price. It even serves as a very great measuring stick for just how powerful a certain GPU is. I have never ever seen a single GPU get so many things right. (And in fact, that goes for the entire GTX 10xx line too.)
@@arnox4554 It was and still is a fantastic gpu to an extent. Though I have to disagree on the blower cooler. Way too loud for my liking and would result in poor enough thermals to only slightly outpace a 1080 ti. Currently, a RX 7600/ Arc A770/ RTX 4060 is about the same as the Titan Xp with it's stock cooler.
@@justhitreset858 Not sure what you're talking about with either the sound or the thermals. My card is rather quiet (though admittedly, I got a heavy steel case) and accelerates pretty well beyond its Nvidia-specified stock clocks.
@@arnox4554 It's become common knowledge that the blower coolers from Pascal aren't particularly capable. Maybe you have a different view on what I consider to be loud, but thermals aren't subjective.
@@justhitreset858 And I'm telling you that my card performs well above baseline. For a long(ish) load. I haven't yet tested anything longer than that though.
Earlier this year I upgraded from my GTX 960 2GB to a GTX 1080 non-Ti, it works really well with my X5670 @ 4.4GHz. I just wish I would have bought one (or GTX 1070 (Ti)) much sooner but I kept waiting for the prices to drop more and then the 2020-2022 GPU shortage happened. Using a GTX 960 2GB for nearly 7 years wasn't fun. Kinda related to the topic I actually bought it from a friend who upgraded to a GTX 1070
I use a 1080 ti and have a friend that don’t understand why the card performs so well in games like hogwarts cyber punk 2077 and Star Wars Jedi fallen order
I bought my 1080ti in the GPU shortage i still get higher fps than a game console and the most demanding game ive played is starfield it still usually stays above 30fps at the worse
titan killer, i'm still rocking sli founders with waterblocks with a 5950x, get 50-80fps at 4k with average settings in most games.waiting for nvidia to fix there overpriced nonsense 4000series faulty cards
The 1080TI was an amazing card. It had a HUGE boost over the 1080 and it was the last time we got a affordable flagship card. I had one, unfortunately it was the evga model and I had to RMA it 3 times cause it would die every 6 months. After the 3rd RMA I sold it and got a MSI 2080ti and it ran great for nearly 2 years till I upgraded. Also gonna disagree with you, 11gb is no longer good enough, many games are pushing beyond that now.
Weird that you had such bad FPS in W3 at 4K. I had average 50-60 FPS with Hairworks medium. Mind you I am talking about the 2015 W3 not the Next Gen Update.
Care to share some more of your experience? I am currently running a 1700x with 1080ti and am planning whether i should upgrade it to a 5600x or 5800x3d cpu to get better juice out my 1080ti.
I use a regular gtx 1080 still today and it works pretty well. Looking to upgrade in the near future, but I might wait uniil I try AMD FSR3 when it's available for Nvidia cards and see how much boost in performance it does.
What a wonderful card. 4 years ago it was too expensive for me so I went with a 1080. When I recently upgraded as I had upgraded to 1440p (again looking 2nd hand) it was priced out in my mind compared to the 2080ti and the 6700xt which were only slightly more expensive but more powerful and newer. 2nd great video in a row I've watched, definitely a deserved sub from me :)
I have adored and loooooved my 1080 Ti. So much so that I bought a second one a couple months ago on Ebay. I've since moved to a 40 series for my main, but I decided to build two more AM4 LAN machines and each of them have an air cooled Aorus Extreme GTX 1080 Ti. Sure there isn't DLSS or any of that, but nearly 4060 level performance and 3 more gigabytes of memory and half the cost..this grizzled geezer of a GPU is 100% worth a consideration in 2023!! Though still have to consider the power efficiency if that's important for a person.
This was a great video. The problem in the current second hand market are the prices(at least in the Netherlands) You can have a 2080 ti for 300 euros so there is little to no point in getting a 1080 ti for 250, especially if you play at 4k I got mine a couple of weeks ago and it's a beast, really
Here in Serbia, 1080 ti is between 150-200€, 2080 and 2080 super are around 230-300, while 2080 ti costs 320-380, which is ridiculous, considering that 3070 sells for 270-320€. Also, 7800xt is cheaper than 6800xt, which is just bizarre.
Hello mate, those were intended for use with VR. Some GIGABYTE cards came with 5.25" bay, and rather than feeding it from the back of the card, you would use this port.
This card is totally usable nowadays unless you want 4k. As someone who used to have a 1080Ti and currently has a 3080Ti, I personally much rather have a curved ultrawide monitor than 4k because its way more immersive and the performance is better meaning my hardware will last much longer. 4k vs 1440p doesn't make that big of a difference to me as long as I can turn things like lighting and texture quality up. If you aren't planning to play 4k or if you are building on a budget, the 1080 Ti for under 200 bucks is a steal and will likely last many more years especially at lower resolutions like 1440p and especially 1080p. Some people can make the argument for ray tracing and its a valid one but I would also argue back that ENB or SweetFX (fake ray tracing with way way way less of a performance hit) looks nearly identical and you can't tell the difference while playing.
I have a 1080Ti in my Alienware Aurora r7 (bought used for general purpose use at home) and I've been considering updating the graphics card and RAM. The computer struggles to play Starfield and the GPU utilization stays pinned at 100% while playing. I've been considering an RTX 3060TI from MSI, on account of the ATX mini case I'm stuck with. Would you recommend staying with the 1080, or jump to a more modern RTX, that can utilize DLSS? The current cost for an RTX 3060Ti is approximately $400USD. I'll be playing on an ultrawide, 1440p monitor (60-120HZ) Thank you in advance for your input!
I use the ASUS ROG version of this card connected to a Dennon receiver that up-converts beautifully. Typically I run even modern games in 4k, it's a water cooled rig with a ton of RAM. However, if I want to pick up some extra frames, I'll play in 1440p and the upconverter in the TV makes it look identical. On a 55" 4k TV the dot pitch is so close (8.3 million pixels inside of 55" you cant see pixels from even less than a foot away so the upconverted 1440p image looks just like the 4k image. In some games it makes a very slight difference but in most it doesn't at all. Anti-Aliasing doesn't even make a visual difference. The TV and Windows 11 utilize HDR and I don't even think about ray tracing. If you still have this card, everything is still a go, it just might need a little help. Use it on a not overly large 4k 120hz TV and nothing can convince you to change until the GPU simply becomes useless.
It took NVIDIA 3 generations to finally have their lowest tier GPU beat this. Just incredible, no GPU could ever be this good for a solid 5 years like the 1080ti was
What do you mean it's top tier? rtx 5050 is not released yet and it's going to be released in 3 years in 2026, and god knows if it would actually beat the rtx 5050...
I never said any of that. All I said is that it will take until the RTX 5000 series to have the lowest tier GPU beat the highest preforming GTX GPU. The 1080 Ti is on par with the 4060 but not slower.@@korana6308
I’m now running dcs world in a 1080ti 11gb msi gaming x in ultra 1080p and it works fantastic. That sim is very demanding and the 1080ti is capable of 70-80 fps average. +100 fps max and 50 fps min. Which are nice results imho

I have owned my Zotac 1080 ti amp extreme together with an i7 6800k since 2017. However, I only play the titles of the multiplayer shooter Battlefield with it. Even BF2042 runs at 100-120fps in 1440p and medium details. To this day I see no reason to upgrade my system. The 1080ti is the investment of €800 that I made I paid for it back then, more than justified. I love this card and have changed the thermal paste four times in all these years.
EVGA 1080ti hybrid it’s one among 40 graphics cards collection I have. Fan on the shroud never spin. And GPU it run an average of 43 C. As for power consumption it’s not huge. Don’t forget its the flagship of the time running at 250 watt. Tell me how much wattage requires last gen flagships either RTX 4000 series or RX 7000 series. Of course newer cards due to smaller manicuring node are more efficient. But flagship at the time 250 watt that’s pretty reasonable in my opinion.

I used to get a lot better frame rate at 4k in Witcher 3 with my weaker GTX 1070. I played the entire game like that at max settings except hair works. The next gen update made the game much more intensive to run at not much graphical improvements unless you use raytracing with a 4000 series card. I never owned a 1080ti. While it may be considered cheap by todays standards it was still a lot of money then. The 1070 was actually the most expensive card I had ever bought then in my 2 decades of gaming. And now the 400 bucks I paid seem crazy cheap in comparison to modern prices. Because my currency has lost so much value a 4070 costs twice as much at 8000SEK instead of 4000SEK for the 1070 back then. Despite it in dollars not having had increased by that much.

This card is still a beast and with the proper optimizations i configured it to work great in games and work applications, so win win! man i love this card! bought it second hand for 270 euros and i thought it was a bargain! i changed it's fans with noctua ones and now there's no noise. im probably gonna get the rtx 3080 used, when it's price falls down to around 250 euros which is pretty damn soon.
i got the 1080 ti paired with a 12700k and honestly my system feels balanced at 1440p.
1080 Ti still going strong. Still using my EVGA 1080 Ti SC2 watercooled. (Kraken G12 + Kraken X72)
1080ti was the last flagship worth buying new
Good honest video.
get the 7900xtx , i upgraded from the 1080ti and im satisfied
Get used RTX 3080/3080ti/3090 and wiat for rtx 5000/6000
After the 1080 Ti was released the share holders said "stop, you're wasting our chances to gain more money, build crappier cards and charge the consumer more money"
Rocking with my EVGA SC2 1080 ti....
My brother is playing Starfied on ultra with a 1080 ti.
Yeah its clearly the games fault, better give it more updates so it runs better gtfoh
1080 ti KingPin is the best looking GPU to this day.
my 1080ti got fked in the a*s in starfield
one of the reason I decided to let it go last week
Except for the price I would say that the 4090 feels like when the 1080Ti was released when it comes to performance.
That thing is WAYYY too big. So much so in fact that if someone gave me one for free, I'd just sell it immediately. The 1080 Ti has the perfect size and power consumption for a flagship card.
@@arnox4554
The *90 cards like Titans are a step above 80 cards
Insane price, comsumption and performance
Still using my EVGA 1080Ti with a Ryzen 5600G and it still running very well
Still using that beast.
Good video. Nvidia will never make a card this good at gaming for this long ever again.
At least not for this good of a price…
i just bought one today, EVGA
I gave my son my Strix 1080ti last week. 7 years was a good run for a gpu.
My new VR headset requires more power so I upgraded to a Strix 4090 oc.
stack up 3 of em with 1500watt power since 2019 for renderings. still rocks
Some lady on Facebook market just sold me at 460 dollars her ex boyfriends pc she bought for him it has a evga gtx 1080ti i7 8700k water cooled,2×16gb ram 3200 mghz gskill ramand 1000wt evga power supply deal of a life time she said she figured that if she sold it cheap it would sell fast she said that she only used for browsing after her ex left and that she has a Mac laptop that she likes more so she decided to sell it
I still own a GTX 1080 Ti and i still love it, i can play pretty much anything, except for Alan Wake 2, but aside from that I still don't need the urge to upgrade just yet.
I've been satisficed with mine for years & Probably more years to come.
Dude same here
i have a Gigabyte GTX1080ti turbo 11GB and play all games . . . sure for Alan Wake 2 we would get patchs
I use a 1080 ti and have a friend that don’t understand why the card performs so well in games like hogwarts cyber punk 2077 and Star Wars Jedi fallen order
Still an amazing card, but if you don’t already have on, you’d be better off with a 3060ti for less power draw and access to dlss/ray tracing
whats funny it was still 1000$ in Croatia just goes to show the GPU shitshow in Europe's GPU market
I still use my gtx 1080 Ti today, and i game several hours each day with no problems. The only problem is i dont know what to play sometimes..:/
#NexusTech Bruv in MS Fligt it's not GPU fault! You getting bottleneck because your CPU is week so you need to upgrade CPU
I still use it and I play all the games with no issues. My monitor only has 60hz so I only need 60 fps. I have a 47 inch gaming monitor.'
Interesting given AMD and the FSR announcement
Lowering some settings (reflections especially) will boost Cyberpunk to around 60 average in 4k while still looking really good.
It will be worth buying in 2033. It's the only gpu you will ever need.
Weird that you had such bad FPS in W3 at 4K. I had average 50-60 FPS with Hairworks medium. Mind you I am talking about the 2015 W3 not the Next Gen Update.
Worked fine for me. Just need to leave ray tracing off and use DX11
Look, I'm still using mine to play Starfield. It's not too bad.
Still running a 1080ti. Just upgraded my cpu to a ryzen 5800x3d and it's given a bit of life back to the 1080ti.
Just wait for FSR3 as well!
Care to share some more of your experience? I am currently running a 1700x with 1080ti and am planning whether i should upgrade it to a 5600x or 5800x3d cpu to get better juice out my 1080ti.
Still on my 1080 Ti, will only upgrade to the 50 series.
I use a regular gtx 1080 still today and it works pretty well. Looking to upgrade in the near future, but I might wait uniil I try AMD FSR3 when it's available for Nvidia cards and see how much boost in performance it does.
I just recently upgraded from the GTX 1080ti to my 4090 that card lasted me for crazy generations of cards.
Brov I had a 1070 and went to a 4080 super love U homi
Why didnt test it with some ddr5 memory and cpu to take max of 1080ti
1080ti is about same performance as 3060 super just no rt support
What a wonderful card. 4 years ago it was too expensive for me so I went with a 1080. When I recently upgraded as I had upgraded to 1440p (again looking 2nd hand) it was priced out in my mind compared to the 2080ti and the 6700xt which were only slightly more expensive but more powerful and newer.
2nd great video in a row I've watched, definitely a deserved sub from me :)
Just got one for my little brother for only 30 bucks!
The problem in the current second hand market are the prices(at least in the Netherlands) You can have a 2080 ti for 300 euros so there is little to no point in getting a 1080 ti for 250, especially if you play at 4k
I got mine a couple of weeks ago and it's a beast, really
Here in Serbia, 1080 ti is between 150-200€, 2080 and 2080 super are around 230-300, while 2080 ti costs 320-380, which is ridiculous, considering that 3070 sells for 270-320€. Also, 7800xt is cheaper than 6800xt, which is just bizarre.
Just upgraded from 1060 to 1080 ti and its amazing! Nothing can touch it for the price I payed.
i use a GTX 1080 Ti today right now
tf is with the extra hdmi on the opposite side does anyone knows?
Hello mate, those were intended for use with VR. Some GIGABYTE cards came with 5.25" bay, and rather than feeding it from the back of the card, you would use this port.
@@nexus_tech thank you!
1070 katana from galax also legendary
I'll be playing on an ultrawide, 1440p monitor (60-120HZ)
Thank you in advance for your input!
Use it on a not overly large 4k 120hz TV and nothing can convince you to change until the GPU simply becomes useless.
i dont think nvidia will ever make such an legendary gpu again..
I have 1080 ti Extreme waterforce pair with 5950x and 32gb ram 4400mhz.. I cant find a good reason to replace it... With the current prices this Card is still a beast..
Bought a used 1080 Ti 4 months ago for €150. Best deal I've ever made for a 2nd hand gpu. It still plays all my games in 4k e.g. sons of the forest, with some settings turned down. If you are looking for a great price/performance card for 1440p this is the one to get!
The greatest GPU ever, even AMD fanboys can't deny this.
yo...don't sleep on the GTX 1070....
that thing puts put some frame rates on even a $250 refurbished pc....
I bought the Alienware R7 1080 to, 8700k cpu, 32 gb ram. Bought it for the original oculus it was incredible. I still am running it right now 👍👍
I currently use one. can play cyberpunk on high med on 2k with 55 average. deff a beast
My 2070 Super offers similar performance but for upcoming titles I wanna upgrade
i still use my zotac 750 ti 😅 its still working good ,but not usable for any new games
I still have mine! 😍😍😍
8:29 RED Engine xD
Makes for a good pairing with a Pentium 4 2.40gz (not to be confused with Pentium 4 2.4gz)
Got a 1080ti to have temporarily while my 4080 was sent back. Boy was I surprised at how well it actually worked..
Bought a $160 PNY GPU and it is glorious, although that brand has a crap cooling system I just undervolted and adjusted the fan curve. I also Just bought a MSI 2080TI GPU for $200 and I'm waiting to see how well it compares to my RX6600.
Well im using 1080 ti on ultra setting, playing on 5k ultra wide screen and getting 58-60 fps,rdr2 all ultra same screen,50 fps, also cyberpunk on high settings also 5k ultrawide 45-55 fps,if i switch to 2k all fps goes up double so this card was absolute jackpot
I'm curently a 2060 Super user here, should I get a 1080ti replacing this? For more info I have the Inno3D RTX 2060 Super Twin OC, and I could get a Aorus Gigabyte 1080ti.
Need inputs guys, thanks!
id like more details of the test setup , just ran my gtx1070 and got just 2280
I still use the EVGA GTX 1080Ti here with i5 9600k, Works great for the games I play and I might even try some of titles you've listed in this video for something different ha !! 👍
I'm still using my GTX 1080Ti in 2024, and I am waiting for the RTX 5000 series release, so I can finally put this legendary GPU as a trophy display.
From launch until September 2022 i've played all games in 4K 60fps with no issue. This is the best graphics card ever.
Just few day am buy 1080 ti. 400 uae dirham (108 US dollar )
super performance. But over heating.
Run it in dx11 also you can revert to the old version thru steam
