This brings back memories. My Mom is Korean and during winter when I would get really cold she would give me a certain type of ginseng to chew on. It DEFINITELY worked at warming me up. I’ll have to ask her what type of ginseng it was. Thanks for sharing the info ❤

I had trouble with getting cold easily since my childhood too. simply by making a habit of drinking 3-4 litres of water a day helped my gut health and finally i don't feel cold all the time

    Hi dear Mona,
I heard to steer lemon containing things with a wooden spoon and not metal as I was told that metal destroys vitamin c... I dont know how much of it is true, but its worth considering.

Loved this topic! My body is considered "pitta" so it has a strong internal fire and I cannot eat/drink anything that is considered a stimulant (ex: caffeine, dark soda like Coke that contains caffeine or even too much chocolate). Even spices that aren't hot to the mouth (like cumin) don't go down well with me...

I practice Chinese martial arts and two of my teacher's masters are also Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors. I also have an M.S. in a biological science. I have talked with Chinese medical doctors with training in both Western medicine and TCM and many of them say the theoretical construct for WHY TCM works doesn't make sense from a scientific standpoint, but non-the-less much of it does work in the hands of a skilled practitioner. Some studies have been/are being conducted at universities in China (and Japan) to try to understand what is going on from a Western science standpoint. In regard to warming and cooling herbs at least part of the effect comes from the phytochemicals effects on the endocrine system (i.e. adrenal cortex, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, et. al. ) Since hormones effect signaling pathways for metabolism and even influence immunity there seems to be some basis for understanding traditional medicines (Chinese, Ayurvedic, Iranian) effects from a Western scientific perspective.

Cool start making similar potion in the nutri bullet will go down and make one shortly. I like a small drop of a good absinth mixed with water after a heavy meal. In the past noticed after eating water melon from the fridge the cold structured water would go to the lungs in seconds. You should check out carbon 60 C60 in olive oil for inflammation 😉✌

Thank you! I'm healing from gut dysbiosis as well eating a starch based diet. Primarily potatoes. It's enjoyable, highly nutritious, antibiotic and antiviral, fulfilling, easy, cost effective, works. I find I couldn't live my best nor feel fulfilled eating any other way. ❤️

Hi Mona, great recipe. But according to ayurveda you should never add honey to anything hot. You can let it cool down a little bit and then add honey

My only suggestion is incorporating apple cider vinegar. So amazing for you, and won't throw off the taste too much with those other ingredients.
