She is very friendly but she shows chemistry only with a few special people like Tony Bennett. In case of Cooper she was in a movie where female character was in love and she just said she immerse in her roles for months. But here she is not in movie with Jake so their chemistry is more real.

Absolutely, I think 10/10 actors my mind goes immediately to Jake. He’s likable and relatable on screen while also being able to be menacing and haunting to the viewer. He is a 10 no doubt.

Jake Gyllenhaal has to be one of the most patient and considerate listeners on earth.
Jake's dedication to his art is unmatched. Jake never praises himself and always gives credits to others but I want you all to know that This man chewed gums for weeks, ate kale salad every day, ran 15 miles continuously for Nightcrawler and for 6 months, he worked out 6 hours a day , 7 days a week, did 2000 sit-ups a day, push-ups, dips, flipped 350-pound tires and ran 8 miles 5 times a week for Southpaw. While training for End of Watch, he spent 12 hours a day riding along with LAPD officers. He watched about 100 interrogation videos for his one of scenes in prisoners. Those face ticking and all were his ideas. For Sisters Brothers movie, Jake did research and consulted a linguist in order to transcribe all his dialogues into phonetics.

I can already tell that Gaga is going to have a very successful acting career. She takes her job as an actress very seriously and puts a lot of work and commitment to her roles which is why she had success with every character that she played, she knows exactly what works for her and she goes for it without hesitation. It's not just about having talent, your mindset has to be there aswell.

@@bloodyweather88 but look at everything she's done though. Whether what she's doing or wearing is "any good", there's always something creative and customized in the details. More than a few times, there's more art visible than her being shown on stage, and those are the times she's the most wild. "Art makes me feel safe" checks out as 100% genuine whether that's a big statement or not.

How f’kin smooth does Jake look in this, and lady g just radiates with passion, the flow between these two is just sublime. Two very likeable and talented people.
She’s incredibly talented. Her passion and devotion to the characters she plays really is illustrated on screen. Same with Jake who absolutely deserves an Oscar. I’m sure his time will come soon.

I love Jake Gyllenhaal so much! Top tier performer. This man gives his 200% in every movie. Southpaw, Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain, Prisoners, Nocturnal Animals, Enemy and Zodiac, Okja etc., A man with iconic filmography. Top notch performer! Jake is a man who didn't do many blockbusters or romcoms and maybe that's why many people don't know what a great actor he is! He loves his art and puts his heart and soul into it! A legend!

It's really not shocking that Gaga has chemistry with everyone. She's a genuinely nice person who is very open and honest and is interested in other people and a collaborative approach to work and she's not judgemental either. It's hard not to feel safe and able to play around her. Oh and she's talented af! If I heard that somebody did not like working with her then I'd be pretty sure that person is an asshole!!

Notice how Jake is an excellent listener and how he absorbs the info. That is why he's a good actor. I notice that in Bradley Cooper also. If you have the habit of waiting your turn to speak and not care what other has to say, it is holding you back a few levels from being great human and artist. I also notice how Anthony Hopkins is a very attentive actor to his senses on screen.. he is always listening, smelling, seeing... talking in a way is the last thing that happens as a result of using your 5 senses

It is very satisfying to see Gaga's career after following her from her first moment of impact. and I dare to say that this is the first time that I can see her happy, healthy, working and enjoying herself, safe. Jake Gyllenhaal is my all time favorite actor. He could pull off every kind of role. He is multitalented who can sing well too. I watched Jake's entire filmography and was mesmerized by his acting skills. He is very hard working and puts his heart and soul into it. Jake's passion towards his art is unmatched. Jake's acting skills are on another level. Sometimes I feel like this man deserves more recognition and appreciation. He is a legend.

I absolutely adore Lady Gaga, she is so intelligent and so well spoken and then we have Jake who is one of the best actors in Hollywood, in my opinion. It seems that at the end Jake was trying to gently tell Gaga that she really needs the tools to protect herself, so she can navigate roles and real life more easily. I wonder if Heath was on his mind in that moment cos the parallels of her getting so involved in the character are similar to what Heath was doing with the Joker.

I just love that drop when Gaga tell us they met years ago at an agency.. they seem so genuinely interested in each other's experiences. From the very beginning, by the way Gaga is currently sat on that chair, show us how excited she was for this conversation, and it shows. Lovely.
His eyes were glazing over at many points. It was particularly great when, four minutes in and she says, “Well, what people don’t know about us as we met eight years ago in a hotel lobby and now look at us!”
Then she caught how self-serving that was since he has 15 years on her in the movies she’s been in, and, she says, “Because, you’ve done so much, too”. 😂😂

Watching this interview and I know Gyllenhaal doesn't believe in 'method acting' lol but I'm glad he's very respectful towards Gaga's process and is engaged with her responses. As a singer she probably has to tear down a whole lot of barrier when it comes to proving herself as an actor, hope she'll continue to have success on this path.

I think it's great that he keeps mentioning about staying safe mentally in this video, because he also apparently goes to the extreme to prepare for his roles. I think he mentioned that he wants to take more "fun" roles now for the sake of his mental health so good for him.

Sooo happy to see Jake! I hope he is alright. He is such a great actor and he deserves so much better. But now every media, except for Variety (thanks guys), just ignores his truly amazing works.
It's a seemingly small thing but I love that Gaga always thanks him for the compliments. She very clearly says "thank you", because she's smart enough to recognize that false modesty is not helpful. That recognition of kindness matters, and she's accepting of his positive words. That speaks to a very well established and honest persona, false people will often go "oh stop!" or "you're better!" or whatever. She's grounded enough to accept it and thank him, clearly and without breaking eye contact.

When you're bullied a lot, it's fight or flight. Lady Gage had to escape into her art. Some people have to learn to fight. Others, who are lost, end their lives. If ever there's actual evil in this world, it's definitely bullying.
