I’d be down for Daniel and Timothée to meet up with eachother every six months for the rest of their lives to talk to/interview each other about how their career is going
squarebamboo He’s right. I’m born and raised in America and a lot of this country thinks that the world revolves around America. Sometimes I think that most of America can’t see past their own noses. I wish we could in some ways try to relate more to the rest of the world and cultures.
I'm glad for this host directing questions to Daniel because that audience was clearly not there for him and it was a Timothee-question lovefest. So thank you to the host.
FranSlam I’m kinda surprised it was focus more on Timmy. I liked him but Kaluuya is a more well known actor considering he’s in the black panther movie which is now breaking box office records
Meh considering the racial aspect of it all I am not surprised by any bias towards " certain actors" in hollywood , that being said tim is a cutie and daniel is lovely and I am happy for daniel's trajectory in his career atm
Landon Le I don't know why you're surprised. With all the success of Daniel's work, white people are interested in white people. If you don't know that, you're probably white yourself.
If I were there I would definitely ask Daniel questions, I find him so fascinating. The fact that he was able to write on such a popular teen show as a teen himself, without having any family connections in the industry, is so cool and something I'd love to see more of. I like how down to earth he is about everything as well, you can see he's not caught up on impressing anybody and just does what he feels passionate about.
these press tours seem to be the toughest part about making movies lol, imagine repeating the same shit again and again and seriously props to the interviewers, they obviously know every single word that's being spoken by these people considering their research
I genuinely hope Timothee Chalamet wins an Oscar. His performance in Call Me By Your Name is a masterpiece. Him crying during that last scene at the fireplace with ''Visions of Gideon" playing in the background is definitely the single most powerful acting scene I've seen in a long long time.
PurelyAfrican It’s a 7 year age difference and it is pretty controversial, fairly so because older people can typically affect the younger person much more in a negative way. I agree and disagree but I’m pretty sure even in the book it doesn’t necessarily praise the relationship.
Antoine... Judging by your comment it's easy to tell you didn't make much of an actual analysis of CMBYN. Understandable, since you didn't care for it much. (Get Out didn't inspire me to analyze or discuss it.) But your idea that every filmmaker would marvel at Get Out the same as you, and since you weren't impressed by CMBYN it is "merely" something or other, is obviously heavily biased. It's your own opinion, but you can't assume what "every filmmaker" would think. There is no "every filmmaker" any more than there is "every audience member" - individuals are moved by different films. (And btw, your borderline comment is borderline idiotic.) Filmmakers as different as, for instance, Paul Thomas Anderson and Pedro Almodovar named CMBYN their favorite movie of 2017, and a lot of both filmmakers and other audiences have found it mesmerizing, deeply moving, and very special. For those people there's tons to discover, appreciate, admire, analyze and love in that extraordinary movie that is so rich in feeling, wisdom, nuances, and details. You didn't get that from it, fine, but many others did.
PurelyAfrican the reason why it’s not controversial is because it was in Italy in the 80s. age of consent there is 14, so I guess that’s why it’s not a big deal, legally..
If I had been in the audience I think I would have asked Daniel about the scene where the mother is hypnotizing him and what emotion did he put when tears start running down his cheeks cause that tears are not tears of sadness they're tears of fear and frustration, it's a silent crying so I think that could have been difficult to portray at first... It angers me that not so many people in the audience made him that kind of questions
I'm pretty sure Timothée asked him about it when they did the Actors on Actors interview, so you could watch that if you were interested in the answer! But I do understand the frustration of not hearing more thoughtful questions. :/
THANSEER Abbas Bit of a touchy bitch, aren't you? Attempting to read racism into @m-ac's comment, weren't you?.You won't admit it, but you just couldn't wait to start flinging the magic "R: word about. Maybe you can address the comment made by @saskia in the same way, but, of, course, in this case the lack of mentioning Timothee would be questioned.
I have a theory as to why these two are nominated for so much this award season: Obviously they're both incredibly talented and excellent at their crafts, particularly at this point in their careers, but also, for the film industry to continue to thrive (particularly where awards are concerned), a newer, younger, more contemporary audience needs to be interested in it. Meryl Streep can only win so many awards and now that Leo finally got his Oscar, it's time to look ahead. Not that they're "new" or anything, but fresh talent breeds promise and creativity, and that's how this industry thrives.
I love seeing actors who remind me of me lol both of these guys seem pretty introverted but are killing the acting game ! It makes me feel like I can possibly do what they do.
most actors/creative ppl are introverted...or at least i find the really GOOD ones are. Because they are observant and can sort of absorb ppl's emotions and replicate it/express it in a powerful way.
Antoine The Transracial White Man Named Harrison i have no idea why you felt the need to even comment on this anyways like seriously???? Get a fucking life
At 17:13 you can definitely recognize what Armie always says about Timmy and how he is so open about his emotions that they just play across his face like a book, he went from thinking hmm should I say yes it has tremendously or just say eh well kind of and shake it off I just found that really adorable
I haven't started the video yet... and i just realized I'm doing a marathon of Timothee Chalamet interviews... the guy is the real deal. I mean, great performances in Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name, but he can really expound on himself, and talk deep and sensibly without being egotistic, he's just pure curious and enthusiastic.
I was there and damn you know when a part is getting awkward but you can’t skip it because you’re there in real life lol. And I felt bad for Daniel, I went for him purely but there were so many Timothée fan girls it was crazy.
I just hope that Xavier Dolan will cast him on his next film since Timothée like to play complicated characters and Dolan likes to create them into his film scenarios.
THANSEER Abbas For me, what is interesting in an actor is his or her capacity to show on screen his or her ability to highlight interesting moments on his acting game, Timothée often does that. I have not yet seen Daniel Kaluuya on one of his films, but after seeing him in the trailler "Get Out", he seems to demonstrate the same ability to do this kind of acting, like Timothée. It'll depend on Dolan if he wants to cast him into one of his movies someday but I know he (Dolan) and Timothée are following each others on Instagram that's why I said that above.
springpastell I hope your right, I saw almost all of Dolan's films and I can easily see Timothée in a film specially written and designed for him by Dolan.

Frankly I believe in today's society this educates families and the world how to handle certain situations. Personally it's been quite sometime since I have been stuck with emotion. I am also surprised that so far this has been excepted.
these two are such introverts but i love that because i can relate to them so much 😂 but they're still brilliant actors and i can't wait to see where they take their careers and how they grow as artists

Yesss❤❤❤
the more i see of daniel kaluuya the more i love him
saskia Same. I love that he’s just really chill. He’s a very charming guy.
Abigail Zapatos yes !! it’s frustrating that he didn’t get as many audience questions, he seems very insightful but in a very relaxed way.
YES! Series 1 and 2!
saskia deicher Right I was just hoping the amount of questions for each would have been equal.
I would like to see them both in a movie together. They seem to have good friendship.
I second this!
That teacup clink should be a gif. Timothee & Daniel are both adorkable.
Tafami they are the cutest when they click their tea cups together ☕

Micaela Clifford oh ikr and then he even said where he met her
